New Mexicans: Brace yourselves for another bloody legislative session

As if you thought the Radical Democrats in Santa Fe hadn’t already gotten every single thing they wished for in New Mexico, think again.

The Democrats have rammed through their “Green New Deal,” loosened crime laws, legalized abortion up-to-birth and infanticide in New Mexico, legalized assisted suicide, instituted sweeping gun bans, raided the Permanent Fund for “free” daycare, legalized recreational marijuana, and so many other left-wing initiatives.

But now, they are coming for more during the regular legislative session slated for mid-January. And scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham wants to focus on “crime” after the deadliest year on record in the leftist-run city of Albuquerque and across the board in New Mexico.

“Crime” is a convenient Democrat euphemism for “social justice” and “gun control” measures. Democrats are likely to push a bunch of different crime initiatives into a bill, such as funding for good programs while also lumping the bill with gun control and social justice policies. So, if the bill includes funding for police officers while also including initiatives conservatives don’t believe in, then Democrats can say Republicans “voted against police funding” if they reject the bill on the premise of its leftist pork. 

But the Democrats insist the 2022 Legislative Session will only be about crime, the budget, and a handful of other issues, dependent on the Governor’s whims.

Regarding crime across the state, the Albuquerque Journal reported that Santa Fe saw a violence hike with 11 homicides in 2021, Albuquerque had 81 slayings, and New Mexico’s violent crime rate skyrocketed by percent. 

In January, with the public still banned from the premises if they do not get the virus shot and a ban on carrying firearms, conservatives are likely not to be allowed inside the building that taxpayers once were supposed to believe was the “People’s House.” 

If 2021’s second legislative session was any predictor of what is to come in the 2022 session, New Mexicans will largely be left out of the process with usually only 10 minutes or fewer to speak in “virtual” committee rooms while Democrats ram through bills. Monday is the first day for legislators to file bills for the 2021 session.

Then, on the House or Senate floor, the debate will be dictated by the iron-fisted Speaker Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe) or the vindictive Pro-Tem Mimi Stewart (D-Bernalillo) per usual, Democrats have control of the process. Egolf especially has torn up rules of debate and decorum and instead opted to do whatever he wants.

But New Mexicans must not be discouraged. New Mexico is worth saving, and we must stick together to attend committee hearings, as we have in the past, because Radical Democrats can’t stop us all. We must attend committee hearings, track legislation, and continue fighting for our values. Welcome to 2022 — the Year of the Lizard People

We at the Piñon Post are not much into astrology or Zodiac signs for that matter, but what we can sense is that as the clock struck midnight, 2022 already feels different — in a good way. And even though 2022 is technically being called the “Year of the Tiger,” it feels a lot more like the Year of the Lizard People, at least in New Mexico.

In 2021, scandal-ridden alleged sexual predator Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham called conservatives who protested her campaign announcement “lizard people” and it stuck. 

Her controversy-driven tenure as governor has been marked with scandal after scandal after scandal. From forcing through the most far-left extreme bills through the Legislature to paying off sexual accusers and her own daughter with campaign cash, and then “misplacing” $250 million in Workforce Solutions money, she has weakened her chance of reelection day after day. 

She repeatedly skirted her pandemic rules to buy luxury jewelry, used taxpayer funds for fine wine and $200/lb Wagyu beef steaks, berated local communities for not following her edicts, forced New Mexicans to stand in cold bread lines to get food and basic goods, fined churches and businesses tens of thousands of dollars for alleged non-compliance, removed the National Guard from the border and denied an immigration crisis, fired and hired cabinet secretaries on a dime, gave her staff hefty raises while New Mexicans lost everything, and she is giving away $10 million of New Mexicans’ dollars through a “lottery” to bribe people to take the experimental virus inoculation. Her pandemic lockdowns killed 40% of New Mexico’s small businesses.

But 2022 is the year she will be forced to face We The People at the ballot box. It is making Lujan Grisham, her Democrat allies, and weak “moderate” Republicans run scared of the massive Red Wave that will take over at the June 7 primary elections and November 8 general election. New Mexico already has so many new “lizard people” jumping in the ring to not only take out Lujan Grisham but to deliver change in our communities through legislative, judicial, county-level, and statewide seats. 

A referendum is coming…

People have had just about enough of Democrat radicalism in New Mexico and they are prepared to win against it through hard-fought political activism and through talking about the issues that matter most to voters. 

Republicans have seven options to choose from to take out MLG, they will finally have options in many primary elections against establishment “Republicans,” and have a true shot to bring fighters into power who will work to return as much of that power back to We The People. 

So, the one message we “lizard people” have for Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Swamp is this: Watch out because THE PEOPLE are coming for you and we will win.

MLG signs gerrymandered state House maps into law

On Wednesday, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed Democrats’ far-left gerrymander state House map that deletes Hispanic representation, creates districts that snake around others, and could boot one of the only Black representatives from her district.

According to reports, the heavily gerrymandered map could give Democrats 45 of the 70 seats in the state House. 

Lujan Grisham claimed, “This is a sound map that is representative and respectful of New Mexico’s varied communities of interest and will, I believe, ensure that the will of the people will continue to be done in that chamber.”

Despite the heavy partisan gerrymander based on a map drawn by the George Soros-funded Center for Civic Policy (CCP), the governor claims it is “representative.” This is despite Rep. Jane Powdrell-Culbert possibly being kicked out of her seat and Republicans being paired with Democrats in two districts.

Those include — Rep. Greg Nibert (R-Roswell) and Rep. Phelps Anderson (DTS-Roswell), as well as Rep. Dayan Hochman-Vigil (D-Bernalillo) and Rep. Bill Rehm (R-Bernalillo). 

The maps were not the work of the state’s Citizen Redistricting Committee. Rather, the work of dark money operatives apparently seeking a left-wing political advantage. 

During the closed-door special session in which Democrats rammed through the extreme proposals, public comment was cut off or not accepted at all and no notice was given to the public to addend critical committee hearings on the proposed maps.

Even the left-wing Albuquerque Journal decried the partisanship in the drawing of maps. In a recent editorial, the paper wrote that the maps were drawn for “naked political gain.” 

“So much for keeping like-minded communities together, prioritizing communities of interest, protecting marginalized groups, avoiding court intervention, and not favoring anyone, specifically political parties or incumbents.”

The Republican Party of  New Mexico and New Mexico Open Elections are considering lawsuits to block the maps. It is unclear the status of those at this time. 

Lujan Grisham has yet to sign the state Senate maps, which also drew controversy. She has until Jan. 6 to do so.

ABQ Journal stuns with rare Lujan Grisham criticism

On Tuesday, the Albuquerque Journal stunned with a rare criticism of scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham for her and Democrats’ partisan closed-door special session that essentially threw out all the work of the Citizens Redistricting Committee to draw fair maps.

The Journal’s editorial board, which noted how the piece represents the paper, wrote, “Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham owes retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Edward Chavez and retired Court of Appeals Chief Judge Roderick Kennedy an explanation — if not an apology.”

It noted how Chavez and Kennedy oversaw a 25-member redistricting task force. Legislators had the opportunity to pass fair maps that represented New Mexican communities of interest and keep communities together so they could be well represented. 

“Legislators instead passed a gerrymandered bill with congressional boundaries that split Albuquerque, Roswell and Hobbs for naked political gain,” wrote the editorial board. 

It was noted how Albuquerque’s South Valley was plunged into the Second District, Roswell was now included in the First District, and Hobbs was chopped in half to be part of the northern Third District.

“So much for keeping like-minded communities together, prioritizing communities of interest, protecting marginalized groups, avoiding court intervention, and not favoring anyone, specifically political parties or incumbents.”

The editorial added: 

And, Egolf lived up to low expectations. It wasn’t enough for him that Democrats have super-majorities in both houses of the state Legislature, hold every state office from governor to state treasurer and occupy both U.S. Senate and two of the state’s three congressional seats. He and other Democrats wanted it all and took it at the expense of conservative and rural voters.

Then, the governor joined the gerrymandering circus and cemented these congressional boundaries for the next decade.

“It is my duty to ratify the will of the majority here, which I believe has established a reasonable baseline for competitive federal elections, in which no one party or candidate may claim any undue advantage,” the governor said. Yet, the maps carve the Republican-dominated oil patch into three districts, dilute the rural vote and shift even more political power to central New Mexico. No “undue advantage?”

Lujan Grisham had an opportunity to be a true leader and represent the whole state regarding redistricting but instead yielded to political temptations. For that she owes Chavez, Kennedy, task force and committee members and every New Mexican now lumped into a district that disenfranchises their community interests a real explanation, not a party-scripted response.

Now, as Republicans and New Mexico Open Elections contemplate a lawsuit to buck the gerrymandered congressional and legislative maps, it is unclear what their fate will be, especially as the state Supreme Court is stacked against any opposition due to a majority of justices being Lujan Grisham appointees.

CBS reporter: ‘Crushing’ lockdowns like those in NM have hurt our children

Over the weekend, CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford blew the whistle on the most underreported story of 2021, which she claimed resulted in a “crushing” impact on our country’s children.

“My kids hear me rant about this every day, so I may as well tell you guys. It’s the crushing impact that our COVID policies have had on young kids and children, by far the least serious risk for serious illness,” Crawford said.

She spoke about how healthy teenagers have “a one-in-a-million chance” of catching and dying from the virus, noting how they have a greater chance of perishing in a car accident. 

“They have suffered and sacrificed the most, especially kids in underrepresented, at-risk communities. And now we have the surgeon general saying there’s a mental health crisis among our kids,” Crawford said. “The risk of suicide attempts among girls now up 51% this year. Black kids nearly twice as likely as white kids to die by suicide.”

“I mean school closures, lockdowns, cancellation of sports. You couldn’t even go on a playground in the D.C. area without cops shooing the kids off…. Tremendous negative impact on kids, and it’s been an afterthought. It’s hurt their dreams, their future, learning loss, risk of abuse, their mental health,” Crawford added.

In New Mexico, school lockdowns and clapping down on sports have had a tremendous impact. In April, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham finally lifted a one-year ban on in-person learning.

The damage the Governor’s lockdown caused was much more painful than merely the year of education many children lost altogether. Hundreds of children in New Mexico took their own lives in 2020 and early 2021, with New Mexico ranking the second-worst state for suicides. As for teen suicides, New Mexico ranked as the fifth-highest state nationwide in 2020. In July 2020, New Mexico hit a boiling point as the state with the highest rate of suicide in the nation, with the rate for children ages 4-15 increasing by 88%.

The Albuquerque Journal reported that around 12,000 “missing” children were going without instruction at all during the pandemic. 

Early in the pandemic, many students cried out about their lack of access to education, with some children having to camp outside of their shuttered school to get wifi access to complete assignments. Many New Mexico children went over an entire year without an education. 

The New Mexico Public Education Department’s updated guidance includes “indoor sports is 100% mask wearing” According to the report, “Outdoor sports, including football, has now been changed back to recommended mask wearing.” 

During the summer, students were forced to wear masks while running in 100-degree heat due to the edict from the Lujan Grisham regime. The body count continues to climb in New Mexico, with children taking their own lives and being the subjects of bullying because of the mask mandates. But the strict policies remain in place despite national outcry over how they negatively effect the state’s children.

As NM families struggled, MLG had swanky taxpayer-funded dinner party

While New Mexicans suffered one of the nation’s highest unemployment rates, record-high inflation, and soaring gas prices Michelle Lujan Grisham traveled to Scotland for a “climate change” summit called “COP26,” which focused on funding climate change extremism through cooperation between global stakeholders.

At the Scotland event, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced radical job-killing proposals she aims to ram through the 2022 Legislative Session that will not only cripple New Mexico’s energy economy but will harm the poor in significant ways. Many of her cabinet secretaries and staff joined her.

At the time, the Governor’s spokeswoman Nora Sackett bragged about how the taxpayers would not be funding the trip, claiming a climate change dark money group would be footing the bill instead.

However, once Lujan Grisham arrived back in New Mexico, Inspection of Public Records Act requests revealed that in early November, right after she got back from the vacation-style “climate” excursion, the taxpayers footed the bill for a swanky seven-person dinner party at the Governor’s Mansion. 

According to the documents obtained in the IPRA, the taxpayers paid Abobo Catering $1,057.27 for the party, totaling over $150 for each person’s expensive meal.

The menu included “[s]ous vide and butter-basted beef tenderloin with roasted vegetable Napoleon and rosemary red wine demiglace.” Dessert included a “chocolate pear tartlet with hazelnut crisp.” According to the memo, the bar, bar supplies, and “dinner wine” were provided by the “client,” i.e. possibly the taxpayers in another form. 

There is no mention of this gathering on Lujan Grisham’s public schedule. 

Western States Director for the pro-energy group Power The Future wrote regarding the Governor’s lavish taxpayer-funded meal, “As if her junket to Scotland wasn’t enough, the Governor decided the taxpayers also need to foot the bill for an extravagant dinner. For Michelle Lujan Grisham to spend days demonizing our energy industry in Europe only to turn around and use the funds it generates for a lavish dinner tells you all you need to know about her hypocrisy.” 

Throughout the pandemic, Lujan Grisham has broken her lockdown orders to buy lavish jewelry and she spent thousands in taxpayer dollars on $200/lb Wagyu beef steaks, fine wine, and liquor. This all came as New Mexicans were forced to stand in bread lines during the holidays due to her strict 75-person capacity limit in grocery stores.

After her taxpayer-funded Wagy and fine wine spending, she gave what some characterize as an apology, saying, “When people are struggling, should it be fair that residents (of the governor’s mansion) literally have a locked-up grocery store closet … that has libations and catering stuff and food?” 

“I don’t want New Mexicans to feel like I don’t take seriously their hardship,” she added at the time. It does not appear she is taking their hardship seriously now, as at least 40% of small businesses in the state have been closed and New Mexicans still struggle to survive, especially as winter is coming and the cost of staying warm has risen exponentially. 

The Piñon Post reached out to the Governor’s office for comment but has not yet received a response. If a statement is provided, this story will be updated.

MLG mandates boosters for healthcare workers — Newsom follows suit

Despite health care workers laboring throughout the pandemic without either a COVID-19 shot or a “booster,” scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has mandated not only the original inoculation but a booster for health care workers. 

In early December, Lujan Grisham’s regime claimed, “[a]lthough experts caution that much remains unknown about the new variant, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week amplified its recommendation on COVID-19 booster shots, saying all vaccinated adults ‘should’ receive one either six months after completing a Pfizer or Moderna series and two months after a Johnson & Johnson shot.”

“The amended state public health order, issued Thursday by Acting Health Secretary David R. Scrase, M.D., will require those categories of workers to receive a booster shot,” the directive instructed.

Now the far-left state of California is following suit, mandating booster jabs for all healthcare workers. 

“​​CA will require healthcare workers to get their booster. As the Omicron variant continues to spread — we’re stepping up efforts to get more people boosted and keep Californians safe,” claimed embattled California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Twitter. 

“With Omicron on the rise, we’re taking immediate actions to protect Californians and ensure our hospitals are prepared. More to come in our official announcement tomorrow,” he said.

It appears Newsom is taking his directives from Lujan Grisham, who is the chair of the Democrat Governors Association, despite her alleged sexual assaults on multiple men — similar behavior to what led to the fall of Democrat former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. 

During the pandemic, Lujan Grisham has shuttered small businesses, targeted health care workers with mandates, killed at least 40% of small businesses in New Mexico and was caught repeatedly skirting her COVID-19 guidelines.

MLG’s spokesman who called GOP a ‘death cult’ quits over mental health

Scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s key spokesman, who has remained at the center of many of the Governor’s crises, Tripp Stelnicki, is jumping ship from the administration ahead of the 2022 election.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, Stelnicki “told the governor in his resignation letter he was stepping down to prioritize his mental health.” 

“A position of trust like this is too important – to you, the people who serve you and the people you serve – to be occupied by someone who cannot give 110%,” Stelnicki wrote in the letter. 

Stelnicki is well known for his condescension of New Mexicans and rudeness to members of the press, including a KOB 4 reporter who asked him basic questions about the Governor’s “red to green” plan to lift harsh restrictions. He wrote: 

Did you read the attachment to the news release yesterday and find it confusing? Please let us know if we can help you understand it. Three colors is not confusing. Checking a website— or asking your county to check a website—once every two weeks is not difficult. 

During the interview with KOB, he claimed long, cold bread lines outside of grocery stores over the 2020 holidays due to Lujan Grisham’s restrictions were a “minor inconvenience.” 

The Piñon Post reported on the long lines prior to the interview with KOB after the Governor’s office told KOB 4 that the lines were just “Republican talking points.” The office also claimed, “The state is not forcing anyone to stand in a crowded line, as you suggest.” 

Stelnicki is also well-known for calling the Republican Party a “death cult” that wants more New Mexicans dead of the virus. 

“You don’t have to ask the death cult their opinion or publish their quotes. False equivalence now is actually life or death. There is no ‘both sides’ to this. There is one group preaching accelerated illness & death because they ‘love’ ‘business’ & if you can’t see through that?” he wrote. 

After Stelnicki’s announcement, Lujan Grisham claimed she was “lucky” to have him. “His intelligence and strategic thinking have helped in countless tough moments, and he has played a key role in our collective, ongoing push to better serve New Mexicans through good, proactive government,” she wrote. 

Stelnicki’s departure is just the latest in a long line of other administration officials jumping ship, including cabinet secretaries, senior advisors, regulatory personnel, among others.

Leger Fernandez deploys frantic fundraising asks after Dem gerrymandering

After Democrats in the New Mexico Legislature used extreme gerrymandering to completely redraw New Mexico’s legislative seats, Public Education Commission, and three congressional district boundaries, far-left Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM-03) is sounding the alarm on changes to her seat, which is now skewed from a solid Democrat district to a purple competitive district. 

The newly weakened Democrat district comes as New Mexico Democrats, desperate to cling to more power, gerrymandered New Mexico’s Second District, currently represented by Republican Congresswoman Yvette Herrell, to skew to the left, now sitting at a D+4 district.

However, the cost of “flipping” the seat statistically to the left costs both of Democrats’ once-safe seats to be more competitive for Republicans. Leger Fernandez’s seat flipped from a D+14 seat to a D+5 and New Mexico’s First District, represented by Democrat Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury, from a D+18 to a D+11.

The maps now show extreme gerrymandering in their shapes, with the Third District snaking down from northwest New Mexico to southeast New Mexico, pairing communities like Lovington, Hobbs, ad Roswell with places like Española, Las Vegas, and the Navajo Nation.

The First District now creeps down to Roswell from Albuquerque, while its South Valley has been plunged into the Second District, while huge chunks of Valencia County have been pushed into the First District.

In a panicky-sounding fundraising email sent by Leger Fernandez’s team, they write, “New Mexico’s new maps might be the difference between Democrats holding the House — or losing it to the GOP. Since Republicans only need to flip 5 seats to take control of the House, DEFENDING NM-03 and WINNING NM-02 will be critical to Democrats’ chances of holding the majority.” 

“But we need to step it up. Our district is already on the NRCC’s target list, so we can bet they’re going to pour cash into this race to defeat Teresa. We can’t afford to sit back and relax any longer. We can’t assume that our campaign will have the upper hand going into Election Day, the email continued.

She also posted on social media with similar messaging asking for funds now that her district is competitive.

It came after Leger Fernandez’s own brother, Martín Leger, testified against the new map drawn by partisan Democrats because it makes the first-term congresswoman susceptible to a Republican kicking her out of Congress. 

The new districts, which were designed by a George Soros-funded dark money group, the Center for Civic Policy (CCP), and signed by scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, could be challenged in court for the extreme gerrymandering occurring, although a suit has not yet been announced.
