ABQ taxpayers now forced to fund Planned Parenthood abortion business

At the Albuquerque City Council’s Monday meeting, councilors voted 6-3 to add $250,000 to the City’s budget to fund the Planned Parenthood of New Mexico abortion business, according to a press release from the Council.

The measure was proposed by newly elected City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn, a far-leftist who was endorsed by many pro-abortion politicians, including Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller.

According to a release after the meeting, Fiebelkorn claimed pro-lifers are “extremists” who are “attacking” the right to kill one’s baby through abortion.

Ironically, Fiebelkorn claimed the $250,000 in taxpayer money is “vital.” She wrote, “I’m proud to have sponsored this amendment to provide vital support for Planned Parenthood.”

“Anti-women extremists have used aggression and intimidation towards Planned Parenthood clinics, staff, and patients resulting in increased costs, delays in treatment, and additional counseling and education needs,” Fiebelkorn claimed. “These funds support our local Planned Parenthood clinic to ensure that all Albuquerque women have access to family planning, abortion, and other reproductive health services.”

The City’s final budget passed 7-2, with Councilors Dan Lewis and Renee Grout voting against it.

The amendment to give money to Planned Parenthood passed with the support of two Republican city councilors: Brook Bassan of District 4 and Trudy Jones of District 8.

Following the news, the pro-life Society of St. Sebastian wrote, “Sadly, the City Council of Albuquerque, NM has given $250K to Planned Parenthood of New Mexico. This is a misuse of public funds since funds are meant to build the community, not destroy humanity.”

Paul Gessing of the Rio Grande Foundation commented about the vote on Twitter, “No matter your position on abortion, Albuquerque taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to fund Planned Parenthood. Sad (and certainly questionable from anti-donation perspective) that a majority on Council voted for this new subsidy.”

Leger Fernandez triggered after being called out for pro-abortion radicalism

Over the weekend, pro-abortion Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (NM-03) sent out a fundraising email complaining that the Piñon Post had run a story labeling her support for abortion up-to-birth as “radicalism.” She labeled us as the “right-wing media.”

In the email, Leger Fernandez wrote, “I wish I could say I was surprised, but right-wing media has decided to attack me yet again — this time in an article about the email I sent the other day, asking you to support abortion access in New Mexico. They are calling my support for reproductive freedom ‘radicalism’ and are attacking me for being a champion for reproductive rights and access.”

It is unclear why Leger Fernandez calls killing a child in the womb “reproductive freedom” because the ending of a child’s life before birth is the opposite of reproduction, while there is also no “freedom” for the child.

Leger Fernandez then doubled down on her support for extremist abortion up-to-birth policies, writing, “Let me be clear.” She added, “I will never stop standing up for a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her body and her health — without government interference. In New Mexico, we know that these important decisions belong with our familias, our faith, and our medical providers — and we are dedicated to preserving access to care for New Mexicans and any patient who needs it.”

She then praised pro-abortion protesters gathering across New Mexico to celebrate killing babies through abortions. “Yesterday, New Mexicans joined thousands across the country in marching and rallying for abortion access,” she wrote. “New Mexicans won’t back down — and neither will I. But in order to hold my seat and keep fighting for women and families, I need your help.”

Many national polls time and time again show that Americans support pro-life policies, with a new Rasmussen poll even finding that 48% of Americans support Roe v. Wade being overturned while only 45% oppose it. Read more about 11 other polls showing Americans back pro-life positions.

Despite vast public opinion being against Leger Fernandez’s abortion up-to-birth stance, she is banking on pro-abortion radicalism as a campaign issue. Her district was recently rated from a D+14 down to a D+5 due to Democrat gerrymandering, which means Republicans have a good shot of winning the Third Congressional District, especially in the current political climate.

Dem candidate bribed not to run by Democrat state treasurer: report

The Democrats’ primary for state treasurer has gotten nasty, with term-limited current State Treasurer Tim Eichenberg spending thousands on a PAC called Better Government Supporting Integrity, ripping Democrat candidate Laura Montoya. Montoya is running against Eichenberg’s “hand-picked” candidate, Heather Benavidez, who serves as his chief of staff.

In a new ad, Eichenberg ripped Montoya, saying, “Laura Montoya. Fired from CYFD for misconduct. Told by a judge not to have contact with children. Ordered by the court not to use corporal punishment against kids. And, according to court documents, [Montoya] was even charged with domestic violence while a young child was present.”

Motoya claims she was fired for “protecting kids.”

In text messages obtained by the Santa Fe New Mexican between Eichenberg and Montoya, the current State Treasurer appeared to bribe Montoya with a job if she would not run against Benavidez.

“Heather announced for treasurer on the Emerge program tonight,” Eichenberg wrote. “If you can hold off running for treasurer till next time, I have a job for you that you would be amazing at doing.”

“He endorsed me twice for county treasurer,” Montoya said. “Now he’s so desperate to elect Heather. I think what he’s doing is so frivolous and ridiculous.”

Eichenberg has apparently been using his official office for political gain with letters sent to Democrat Party of New Mexico convention delegates affixed with the official seal of his office. This appears to be a campaign violation.

Eichenberg’s letter sent to Democrat delegates to the NM Democrat Party’s pre-primary convention.

Also, one source wrote, “Eichenberg has also been running slanderous radio ads against the opponent of his endorsed candidate, a traditional Hispanic candidate who has some conservative views.”At the Democrats’ pre-primary convention in March, Laura Montoya received 58.29% of the vote compared to 41.71% for Benavidez.

Vulnerable Dem Leger Fernandez raises cash to fund abortions

Despite facing a tough reelection in the newly redrawn New Mexico House District Three, U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez is once again doubling down on pro-abortion radicalism. This time, she is not only promoting abortion up-to-birth, she is raising money for pro-abortion “funds” that finance abortion tourism to New Mexico.

In an email on Tuesday titled, “Abortion is health care,” the Democrat’s campaign wrote, “In New Mexico, we believe that the personal decision to grow a family belongs with New Mexican familias, their faith, and their medical provider — and that politics and government interference have no place.” She seems to be confused between the decision to grow a family happening before the child is conceived and not afterward by killing the baby in an abortion.

The email went on:

In the face of last week’s devastating draft SCOTUS decision that would overturn Roe v. Wade, New Mexico will remain a leader in ensuring that patients can get access to care. But for many patients, that will mean traveling great distances — including to New Mexico from other states.

But this isn’t new — it’s already happening. New Mexico has long been a leader in providing health care, and we have seen a surge in patients from Texas seeking abortion care since the passage of Texas’s restrictive abortion ban, SB 8.

But for those seeking medical care, traveling out of state to access it is often an insurmountable financial or logistical burden. And for those patients, it is often local abortion funds that fill the gaps to provide the funding they need for travel, shelter, and more.

That’s why Teresa wanted us to reach out and ask for your support for New Mexico’s three local abortion funds.

Leger Fernandez’s campaign then solicited $30 donations from her supporters to fund “New Mexico Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice,” “Indigenous Women Rising,” and the “Mariposa Fund.” All of these dark money organizations pay for abortion costs for women to travel to get abortions in New Mexico.

Now, as the first-term Democrat faces reelection, it seems she is going all-in on pro-abortion radicalism and in the process, directly helping end children’s lives through abortion violence. Leger Fernandez faces Republican Alexis Martinez Johnson, who previously got close to winning the election in 2020. With redistricting, the seat has changed from a D+14 to a D+5, according to analysis from FiveThirtyEight.

‘Potential crime scene’: Otero County audit finds shocking evidence

On Monday, the Otero County Commission held a special meeting on the 2020 election audit sanctioned by the County, which found some interesting results from the canvass. Included in those results was the revelation that of the 22% of the County canvassed, 41% of those had issues, including 30% who didn’t live at the address (while 40% of those voted in the election), 4% of doors knocked were “ghost votes,” and 2% of the votes were dropped.

Erin Clements, who was one of the main organizers overseeing the audit through the New Mexico Audit Force, said these results had a margin of error of 4%, and results from the canvass did not have wild variations from day to day suggesting a consistent pattern. Erin Clements said, “These numbers did not change from weekend to weekend,” adding, “We out-sampled them by leaps and bounds.”

Erin Clements was joined by her husband, David Clements, and expert witness Jeffrey Lendberg, who was involved in finding apparent fraudulent activity in Antrim County, Michigan, during the 2020 election. Lendberg has been helping with the data side of the audit after Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai of EchoMail, Inc. was intimidated out of participating in the audit by “threats from up high” from Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

David Clements opened up his testimony on the apparent fraud by saying, “We’re told that the Lord abhors inaccurate weights and measures. What we’re finding is inaccuracy after inaccuracy after inaccuracy.” He added, “You have a potential crime scene in Otero County.”

Clements said, “It appears you’re being held at gunpoint.” He said the County is a casualty of “lawfare” from “Congress and a bunch of operatives.”

Lendberg echoed David Clements’ sentiments, saying, “If you even question election integrity, you get canceled.”

There were project files missing for the 2020 election in Otero County, according to Lendberg. The voting machine company, Dominion Voting Systems, came out to “service” the units in June 2021, according to Otero County Clerk Robyn Holmes. Lendberg concluded that Dominion “definitely had the possibility of erasing stuff.”

Lendberg also noted how models of Dominion machines in Otero County had the capabilities of remote access from outside sources. He said manufacturers, such as Dominion “have led people to believe they don’t have that capability.” But they do have this capability, according to evidence provided by the Clements.

Lendberg also noted that the Otero County audit found a feature within Dominion machines that would allow ballots to be filled out by the machine itself.

The Clements’ and Lendberg’s presentation noted smoking-gun evidence of ballots being left unsecured in the neighboring county of Doña Ana, where elections in New Mexico are known to flip in the dead of night from Republicans to Democrats, as evidenced by 2018’s Second District U.S. House of Representatives election and 2020’s District 53 election where Otero County Clerk Holmes accepted absentee ballots from Doña Ana after the election which swung the results in Democrat Willie Madrid’s favor.

Other evidence presented included voter registration trends by date which showed that Democrats, Republicans, and Declined to State voters all mysteriously had the same patterns in registrations, which is impossible. As well, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver’s emails showed she corresponded with left-wing activist Catharine Clark and her staffer, Alex Curtas, who received internal numbers from the polling places. The final numbers of votes were way off from those that were shared internally at the Secretary of State’s office. Finally, election day votes in multiple counties disappeared and then reappeared on Election Day, with 20% gains in the vote in a matter of 12 minutes.

Lendberg and the Clements noted how the only way to fix these large abnormalities is to return to counting of paper ballots from precinct to precinct, removing ballot drop boxes, and strengthening security measures. According to David Clements, returning to hand-counted paper ballots is already happening in multiple Nevada counties.

The Clements will present the evidence found in Otero County from the ballot image matches at a subsequent meeting of the Otero County Commission.

MLG campaign asks for Mother’s Day card signatures after promoting unlimited abortion

On Friday, in truly twisted form, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s campaign team sent out an email requesting signatures on a Mother’s Day card for the radical left-wing governor.

This comes right after Lujan Grisham touted radical pro-abortion policies, such as 2021’s S.B. 10, which she signed in New Mexico, stripping all protections for babies in the womb, pregnant mothers, and medical professionals. The bill effectively legalized abortion up-to-birth and infanticide.

This week, Lujan Grisham appeared on CNN to promote abortion and condemn pro-lifers who want to save babies from being murdered through abortions. Lujan Grisham told Jake Tapper, “You have states that are going to work to continue to restrict the decision-making of a woman about her own body, her own health care.”

She added, “And you got more than half the country that has the potential with this leaked draft decision to lose their constitutional rights. And I think it could be just the beginning. And no amount of preparation prepares you for actually being able to see what this opinion could look like and what it could actually be.”

While sharing the clip on Twitter, the Governor wrote, “We took action in #NM to protect a woman’s right to an abortion. As governor, I’ll never stop fighting for women and their rights.”

But pro-lifers clapped back at Lujan Grisham. Elisa Martinez of New Mexico Alliance for Life and candidate for the state House of Representatives wrote, “NOT true. What about the dozens of women who are sent to the Emergency Room or have died as a result of unsafe & unregulated abortions in #NM? You’ve fought to empower #abortion businesses – not for women.”

But despite Lujan Grisham’s rabid support for abortion up-to-birth and infanticide, her team is now “thanking” Lujan Grisham with a Mother’s Day card. In an email, the campaign team wrote, “On Mother’s Day, we want to say “thank you” for everything Gov. Lujan Grisham has done for New Mexicans. Will you sign your name now to wish Gov. Lujan Grisham a happy Mother’s Day?”

Lujan Grisham recently took a maxed-out donation from Planned Parenthood and donated thousands to the sexist pro-abortion group that only helps anti-life women run for office, EMILY’s List.

Otero County takes action after feds limit cattle grazing in Lincoln Nat’l Forest

On Wednesday, the Otero County Commission held a special meeting at the Flickinger Center in Alamogordo to discuss and send a letter to the Lincoln National Forest (LNF) after it “lowered the number of livestock that the [Sacramento Grazing Association, or SGA] are allowed to graze upon their lawful grazing allotment to a number that will not sustain their livelihood and likely lead to bankruptcy,” according to the letter.

The action by the Commission came after Gary Stone, the President of the Otero County Cattleman’s Association (OCCA), brought the grave issue to their attention in an April 27, 2022 letter.

In the letter, Stone wrote, “The SGA is being discriminated against in that the LNF is using unlawful means and methods in order to reduce livestock numbers. The SGA is teetering on the brink of losing everything that they and their predecessors have worked for all of their lives and most likely bankruptcy will follow. Not only do they lose, the families that they employ, the community as a whole and the county lose as well. The loss of tax monies collected by the county on the SGA’s cattle will be a significant reduction in revenue for the county and ultimately the negative consequences are felt state and nationwide.”

“OCCA believes that LNF representatives are in violation of federal law,” Stone concluded in the letter.

During the special Commission meeting, many concerned over the grazing limits spoke, including Kelly and Spike Goss of Weed, who have been battling the federal government and enviro-Marxists, namely the Center for Biological Diversity, who want to snatch their grazing rights over claims the “New Mexico meadow jumping mouse” lives on land they have their cattle graze. Yet nobody has seen this mouse on their land.

One man, David Rawls, traveled all the way from Florence, Arizona to tell his story about how his family was devastated by the federal government after their sandstone mine was eventually snatched from under them through a similar process, which he dubbed “tyrannical.”

Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-NM-02) was in attendance, and she lent her office as a resource for the ranchers to fight the crippling LNF policies. Herrell said, “it’s death by a thousand cuts to any natural resources,” speaking about the federal agencies and leftist environmental groups.

Congresswoman Herrell speaking at the meeting.

The final letter sent by the Commission to Forest Supervisor for the Lincoln National Forest Travis Moseley read:

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Otero County considers themselves an interested party and stakeholder in this matter. Ranching is an integral part of Otero County’s customs and culture, as well as being a County economic interest. After reviewing the [Annual Operating Instructions], it is clear your team failed to review, consider and identify conflicts between Otero County policies and the AOI process. The Otero County Comprehensive Plan (last updated in 2020), the Otero County Environmental Planning and Review Ordinance, and the Otero County Land Use Ordinance, all set forth the County’s position on many of the issues considered in the AOI process. Nevertheless, the USFS again failed to address these issues or even request a coordination meeting with us to work out potential conflicts.

The BOCC believe that decisions to reduce or suspend grazing should be informed by an appropriate quantitative assessment of long-term and short-term trends in rangeland conditions. If, after consultation with the state and county, the federal agency decides to reduce, suspend, close, or modify an allotment due to documented harmful wildlife impacts, a suitable alternative allotment (if it exists), properly authorized pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), must be made available to the displaced operator prior to adjustment of the original allotment. In order to fully implement this policy, USFS must have alternative allotments properly authorized under relevant planning documents. This ensures that suspensions or modification of grazing permits will not result in a net loss of Animal Unit Months (AUMs) and that appropriate alternative allotments are available.

Federal land management agencies’ decisions to reduce or close allotments should only be based upon a full and complete administrative review and analysis, including a complete review under the provisions of NEPA. The decision process must include opportunities for state, county, livestock grazing permittees, and other stakeholders to provide input. Allotments should not be closed due to a pending NEPA review without allowing authorized use of the allotment pending a final decision, or the use of an equivalent amount of forage at reasonably equivalent cost to compliant operators. The AOIs in this instance does not meet this standard and is scientifically challenged by experts at NMSU.

Federal land management agencies must give interested state agencies and counties an opportunity to fully participate in or provide input to grazing permit actions – prior to their initiation. Among other things, states and counties should be able to participate in: generalized review of livestock operations on federal lands; any assessment of grazing conditions as part of a federal planning process; review of past compliance of the operator with grazing allotment conditions; and individual allotment reviews. Grazing permit decisions should not be finalized until after this opportunity for meaningful consultation with the states, local governments, and the affected permittees.

We respectfully request that the USFS conduct a reevaluation of the SGA GY2022 AOIs based on the concerns raised by the NMSU Range Improvement Task Force. The decisions made by the USFS impact the Otero County economy, businesses, and families. Consequently, we request that you recognize this is bigger than a simple exercise in bureaucracy and red tape.

The Piñon Post will continue following this story and speaking with stakeholders affected by the LNF’s decisions. If members of the public would like to submit op-eds about this important issue, please send them to info@pinonpost.com, and they will be printed.

MLG digs up old campaign ad to promote abortion up-to-birth

On Tuesday, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham dug up an old 2021 campaign ad for her run for Congress where she touted her support for radical pro-abortion policies.

The embattled governor, who is under investigation for ethics violations and recently paid off a staffer $150,000 for claims she grabbed his crotch, wrote, “I’ve spent my career being an advocate for women and their right to choose.”

“In 2012, I released this ad talking about the need to stand up for women’s rights. This message is even more important than ever,” in apparent response to the Supreme Court’s leaked decision in the Dobbs case which overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion-on-demand in the United States.

Lujan Grisham ironically claims she is protecting “women’s rights” despite half of abortions killing baby girls, while mothers have been maimed and killed because of abortions — the opposite of women’s rights.

In true form, Lujan Grisham proceeded to ask for money from donors to help her continue killing babies in the womb, writing, “I will never stop fighting to protect women’s rights in New Mexico. Join us in the fight and pitch in $25 right now.”

In 2021, Lujan Grisham signed into law S.B. 10, which legalized abortion up-to-birth and infanticide in New Mexico. That means that when Roe v. Wade is officially overturned, New Mexico will continue being the Wild West of extreme late-term abortion.

Vulnerable Dems Leger Fernandez, Stansbury double down on abortion support

Late Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court’s draft opinion on the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case was leaked to the press, which showed the Court was poised to overturn 1973’s Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion-on-demand in the United States. Roe’s defeat would mean individual states would get the ability to ban or legalize abortion as they see fit.

While pro-lifers cheered on the potential decision, which was later confirmed to be authentic by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Democrats doubled down on their support for radical abortion up-to-birth and infanticide policies. Those Democrats included vulnerable U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez.

The first-term congresswoman wrote on Facebook Monday, “In New Mexico, we believe that the personal decision to add to a family belongs with New Mexican familias, their faith, and their physician – and that politics and government interference have no place. Now more than ever, in the face of this anticipated and devastating draft decision, NM will stand with women and families.”

Leger Fernandez added, “We will remain a leader in ensuring that patients have access to the full spectrum of healthcare they need and deserve, including access to abortion care.” It should be noted that ther is never a medically necessary reason for abortion, therefore there is no such thing as “abortion care.” Abortion is the selective killing of a child in the womb.

In the attempt to take out Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-NM-02) from the House of Representatives, Democrats heavily gerrymandered New Mexico’s congressional map, which plunged large swaths of Democrat voters while adding conservative areas into Leger Fernandez’s Third District. According to FiveThirtyEight, Leger Fernandez’s district was winnowed down from a D+14 seat to a D+5. Leger Fernandez faces Republican Alexis Martinez Johnson in the General Election. Martinez Johnson previously ran for the seat in 2020, so this race would be a second round for the two candidates.

With a competitive cycle ahead in November, national polls are showing Democrats are training Republicans on generic ballots by double digits. Since protecting human life in the womb is an issue that many moderate Democrats in New Mexico believe is important, Leger Fernandez’s doubling-down on her pro-abortion stance could hurt her beyond measure in the November 8 General Election.

Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM-01), who also faces a tougher reeleciton with her district being downgraded from a D+18 to a D+11 could also face a tough race, with her radical stance on abortion.

“It’s now clearer than it’s ever been: SCOTUS is about to gut our basic rights to control our own bodies. It’s up to the Senate to end the filibuster and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, now,” the first-term Democrat congresswoman wrote on Twitter.

She added, “Care remains available—this is still a draft opinion. But we must continue the fight in the Senate and at the ballot box.”

As Democrats continue to go all-in on abortion up-to-birth policies, Republicans have a shot at picking up seats across the nation, especially with the control of Congress and the Legislatures having even more significance in the abolition of abortion across the U.S.

MLG slapped with yet another ethics complaint alleging illegal donations

On Monday, the group “Stop MLG” announced it had filed an ethics complaint with the State Ethics Commission against scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The group wrote that Lujan Grisham “refuses to comply with state law again accepting illegal campaign contributions. The Governor has broken state campaign finance law by receiving campaign funds that exceed the legal limit.”

“The latest violation shows the Governor’s Campaign Committee reported a campaign contribution of $22,000 from the Pueblo of Santo Domingo. This donation exceeds the maximum donation permitted by law per N.M. Stat. § 1-19-34.7. The maximum contribution limit for Governor candidates is $20,800, split between primary and general elections,” read a press release from the group.

These alleged violations included aggregate donations by the Pueblo of Santo Domingo totaling $22,000.

“New Mexicans are all too aware of the repeated unlawful acts by Gov. Lujan Grisham,” said Brett Kokinadis, the director of the group. ”Campaign finance and reporting violations, lawsuits against her office for alleged violations of the Inspection of Public Records Acts and from the legislature, questionable use of $222,000 of campaign donations to serve as hush money to silence sexual allegation claims and pay attorney fees all demonstrate the Governor’s refusal to comply with the law.  She believes she operates under her own proclaimed laws and policies.”

“New Mexican voters should be disturbed by all these actions, distractions, and repeated violations by the Governor who continues to believe she is above the law and untouchable,” he said.

This comes after the group filed a complaint in October 2021 against Lujan Grisham, which resulted in the Governor returning donations from the company “Intrepid Potash.” Other complaints have been filed against Lujan Grisham, including one filed in May 2021 by Piñon Post editor John Block, which involved the spending of campaign cash for the Governor’s hair and makeup — personal expenses according to state law and guidelines.
