Sketchy Gabe Vasquez declares war on Trump in Trump country

In New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District — a district President Donald Trump decisively carried in 2024 — far-left Democrat Gabe Vasquez continues to alienate his constituents by doubling down on radical opposition to the president’s commonsense agenda.

Since Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025, Vasquez has taken every opportunity to obstruct policies overwhelmingly supported by working Americans. Earlier this year, Vasquez voted against the Laken Riley Act, a commonsense bill requiring the detention of illegal aliens accused of serious crimes. Despite bipartisan support for this basic public safety measure, Vasquez instead sided with open-borders extremists, choosing the interests of criminal aliens over the safety of American citizens.

Worse yet, Vasquez opposed President Trump’s efforts to strengthen election integrity, including legislation to ban non-citizens from voting in local, state, and federal elections. Even though the overwhelming majority of Americans — including many Democrats — support restricting voting rights exclusively to U.S. citizens, Vasquez showed where his loyalties lie: with the radical left, not the voters of southern New Mexico.

At a recent town hall event in Las Cruces, Vasquez launched into a bitter tirade against President Trump, blasting the administration’s “immigration crackdowns” and accusing Trump of promoting “fear and division” — rhetoric more at home in deep blue New York City or Washington, D.C. than in Trump country New Mexico.

His contempt for the president is especially clear in his unhinged fundraising emails.

In two recent blasts to his donor list, Vasquez ranted about Trump’s investigation into ActBlue, the Democrat fundraising giant facing mounting scrutiny for suspected widespread fraud. In one email, Vasquez seethed:

“Donald Trump just signed a memorandum targeting ActBlue — the grassroots fundraising platform that powers nearly every Democratic campaign in the country — in an attempt to shut it down… Trump knows that grassroots movements like ours are the only thing standing between him and total control.”

Rather than addressing the credible allegations of financial misconduct surrounding ActBlue — including concerns about illicit foreign donations and donor fraud — Vasquez played the victim, calling Trump’s efforts to safeguard campaign finance laws an “attack” and a “rigging of the system.”

In another desperate appeal, Vasquez went even further, lashing out at Trump’s economic policies and bizarrely blaming the president for New Mexico’s economic woes:

“Trump’s economic policies are a disaster for the country and the world… Instead, they’re falling in line and remaining silent. They are letting Trump drag our economy into chaos.”

Vasquez even bragged about teaming up with radical leftist Senator Cory Booker to introduce legislation targeting private companies like those owned by Elon Musk — a transparent publicity stunt that does nothing to help New Mexico’s struggling farmers and ranchers.

For a man representing a district that overwhelmingly voted for President Trump, Vasquez’s nonstop hostility toward the administration is nothing short of political malpractice. Instead of working with President Trump to secure the border, lower inflation, and restore law and order, Vasquez seems more concerned with playing resistance warrior for a Washington, D.C. donor class out of touch with New Mexican values.

With his reckless and sketchy voting record, repeated attacks on the president, and open disdain for his own constituents’ priorities, Gabe Vasquez is making it clear: he’s not interested in representing the people of southern New Mexico — he’s only interested in fighting Trump at every turn.

Voters will remember.

Trump makes big endorsement in New Mexico ahead of Tuesday’s primary

45th President Trump has made a big endorsement in one of New Mexico’s most contested congressional races.

On Monday, Trump endorsed Republican former Congresswoman Yvette Herrell for her bid to take back her former seat in the Second Congressional District.

The 45th President wrote on Truth Social, “A successful entrepreneur, Yvette knows how to Expand our Economy, Fight Inflation, and Create High-Paying Jobs. She will work hard to Lower Gas Prices, Support our Vets, Strengthen our Military, Secure our Border, and Defend the Second Amendment. Yvette Herrell has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

In response, Herrell wrote, “Thank you President Trump! It’s an honor to have your support – and I look forward to working together to restore our country after we both win this November!”

Herrell faces far-left Democrat Gabe Vasquez, who narrowly took the district in 2022. Vasquez is under fire over his past racist attacks against former colleagues, including referring to one as “Chris, the n***er.” He also has previous drug possession arrests.

Earlier this year, Texas authorities executed an arrest warrant on the embattled Democrat over failure to appear in court for previous violations.

Vasquez is a far-left “progressive” in the newly gerrymandered Second Congressional District, which remains still competitive despite the Democrats’ attempts at redrawing it for naked political gain.

Along with Trump, Herrell has been endorsed by the entire Republican House leadership team, as well as many other high-profile names, such as Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY).

Could the ‘First Manny’ secretly be MAGA?

A recent Thanksgiving post by far-left Democrat New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham could give New Mexicans a clue of who the first gentleman, or as Lujan Grisham calls him, the “First Manny” (Manny Cordova) really is.

Lujan Grisham posted via X on Black Friday, “I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the First Manny, my children and grandchildren. Let the Christmas season begin!” Along with the post was a photo of her and some family members, including Cordova, who stood to her right.

The first gentleman was wearing a distinctive Navy and white sweater, and the photo appears to have been altered to remove the “Turnberry Scotland” logo from the garment in the photograph.

On the right arm of the sweater in the photograph, however, the text “Glenmuir 1891” can be seen stitched in the fabric.

The sweater design is sold at the official Trump store, which is run by the 45th President Donald Trump’s family, and the sweater is offered online for sale, which promotes the Trump Turnberry Hotel and Resort. Similar sweaters are also sold at the Glenmuir store.

Screenshot of the Turnberry Scotland sweater via the Trump Store. Accessed Nov. 24, 2023: https://www.trumpstore.com/product/saltire-zip-neck-sweater/

The subtle wearing of the Trump brand by the first gentleman is noteworthy, as is the apparent digital altering of the photo to remove the logo, as Lujan Grisham is rabidly anti-Trump.

The extreme far-left Democrat has attacked Trump’s record on the pandemic and immigration, calling him a “failure” among many other cheap shots, potentially to the chagrin of the now-first gentleman.

Lujan Grisham and Cordova were married last May at a Washington, D.C. ceremony officiated by Joe Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris.

According to analyses of Mr. Cordova’s past voting history and likely party indicators, although he is registered as a Democrat at the governor’s mansion, he is calculated to be a “weak Republican,” another indicator the first gentleman could be more conservative than he may seem.

Could the “First Manny” secretly be a Trump supporter? The evidence shows he may not be as far-left as his wife, the governor.

Unhinged NM Dem Party equates Republicans with domestic terrorists

The New Mexico Democrat Party (DPNM), in its latest attack on Republicans, equated members of the GOP to domestic terrorists in a recent statement released three days following an altercation in northern New Mexico where anti-Don Juan de Oñate demonstrators clashed with a man who was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

A longtime Oñate statue was set to return to Rio Arriba County this year after it was removed following the 2020 George Floyd Antifa riots targeting statues and historical sites. Anti-Hispanic hate groups, including The Red Nation, have attacked Hispanic history and culture by cloaking their protests in supposed care for Native American traditions. These fringe groups, such as The Red Nation, originate out of state.

After a video showed him being pursued by a crowd of anti-Hispanic protesters, the man shot one person. Strangely, in his mugshot, the man was allowed to wear his MAGA hat — something likely done as a political message to attempt to show Republicans as accused criminals.

DPNM, which Jessica Vasquez chairs, wrote in the bloviated statement, “To learn from the past & continually work toward becoming a more just & equitable society, we must remember history as it was, including the colonial injustices & atrocities that are a sad part of New Mexico’s history.”

In the attempt at equating all Republicans to the shooter, DPNM continued, “The aggressor of this horrendous act was a right-wing extremist wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat. After this event, & so many others that have terrorized our country, it is our duty to call the MAGA movement what it is: a radical movement that has emboldened the most heinous extremists in our country to commit acts of politically-motivated (sic) violence.”

It added, “The Republican Party remains spinelessly complacent in condoning political violence as extremists have infiltrated & taken over their party. We will continue to do everything we can to keep them & their MAGA leader, Donald Trump, out of public office.”

The Democrat Party has long embraced and inflamed political violence, including in its fight against slavery, in its opposition to the Civil Rights Movement, in its support for the George Floyd/Antifa riots, and even most recently on Capitol Hill, where a Democrat congressman pulled a fire alarm to attempt to halt a vote to avert a government shutdown.

After leftist paper claims GOP candidate ‘distances’ herself from ‘Trumpian poison,’ she fires back

On Friday, the Santa Fe New Mexican editorial board lauded state Rep. Rebecca Dow who recently announced for governor.

In the editorial, the paper writes, “Republican state Rep. Rebecca Dow has announced she will run for governor, and her candidacy offers the opportunity for Republicans to remember their roots — conservative values, fiscal prudence and common sense — while distancing the party from the Trumpian poison that threatens to strangle the GOP.”

“Her voice will add to the debate in the GOP primary for governor, which is getting crowded,” continued the piece.

The editorial board notes, “Elections that serve voters and lead to improved governing must start at the local level. After competitive primaries, Democrats in Santa Fe County too often run unopposed in November. That’s the wrong way to approach politics and, in the end, bad for government, because it lessens the opportunity for compromise and only hardens the far edges of party dogmas already out of control.”

But the Santa Fe New Mexican, which now wants to come off as an impartial voice, despite bashing Republicans on the Fourth of July, praising rioters for tearing down the Soldiers’ Monument obelisk in the Santa Fe plaza, and other divisive statements.

After the editorial board bashed pro-Trump candidates as spewing “Trumpian poison,” Dow shared the article and wrote on Facebook, “It’s time for New Mexico to thrive. 48 hours after our official launch and the momentum keeps growing. Dow has focused her campaign on improving education, increasing child well-being, as well as calling out embattled Gov. Lujan Grisham for her scandal-ridden tenure.

In a comment provided to the Piñon Post about the New Mexican’s bashing of Trump supporters, Rep. Dow said, “It’s a typical progressive tactic to distract from the failed policy of MLG (Michelle Lujan Grisham). I’m focused on advocating for the everyday New Mexican and the hard task ahead of creating hope and opportunity for our children.”

Dow joins Sandoval County Commissioner Jay Block of Rio Rancho, businesswoman Karen Bedonie of Mexican Springs, financier Greg Zanetti of Albuquerque, and ex-Gary Johnson staffer Tim Walsh of Albuquerque in the Republican field to take on Lujan Grisham.

FOREVER DEPLORABLE: The battle for President Trump has just begun

President Donald Trump has been the single most active, accomplished, representative, and straightforward president our country has ever had, and we would be hard-pressed to find anyone who has done more for this wonderful nation than President Donald J. Trump.

Through all the trials our country has faced, from Democrat obstruction and RINO (Republican in name only) deflection to Chinese pandemics and years-long witch hunts, President Trump charged ahead and brought forth a vision, not only of American greatness but of an America that finally recognizes the hard-working men and women who fight each and every day to keep our country powered and moving ahead.

President Trump focused his campaign talking about the men and women who so-often are scoffed at by ivory tower coastal elites and Washington, D.C. insiders who openly mock those working blue-collar and service jobs (the very jobs that keep the lights on).

Trump focused on our hard-working coal miners, oil workers, energy refiners, teachers, farmers, ranchers, truckers, construction workers, restaurant workers, medical professionals, and so many others who do the critical work to make our nation great.

With Trump, the everyday man and woman finally had a candidate who not only cared about them—but lifted them up and recognized them for their invaluable contribution to our society and their love for our country.

That is exactly why I jumped on the Trump Train on June 16, 2015. And I’ve got to tell you; I have absolutely no regrets in my support for him, from the hilarious jokes he made during his speeches on the campaign trail, to his very serious achievements during his presidency that have brought America back to greatness.

In the beginning, I can’t tell you how many people came up to me puzzled, asking me why, of all the GOP candidates running for president, did I choose Donald Trump? And my answer was very simple: We finally had a candidate in Donald Trump who didn’t BS us with a politician’s filter. He put his money where his mouth is and funded his own campaign, not having to rely on the Washington, D.C. swamp or coastal elites to bankroll (AKA buy) him. He had the right reasons for running—not for his own career, but because he saw a hurting America that he knew needed an ordinary American to fix.

I still got laughed at by Democrats and many Republicans, who thought Donald Trump was a joke. But I didn’t care, and I still don’t care. I’ve always seen him as a very real and very necessary candidate after both the feckless Republicans and the hateful Democrats abandoned the American people time after time. Trump was not the average weak and spineless RINO like Bush or Romney. He was and still is a fighter, to the very bitter end if, necessary.

During his parting address in the White House on January 19, 2021, he noted his fighter spirit, saying, “I did not seek the easiest course; by far, it was actually the most difficult.  I did not seek the path that would get the least criticism.  I took on the tough battles, the hardest fights, the most difficult choices because that’s what you elected me to do.  Your needs were my first and last unyielding focus.”

My first Trump rally was on September 14, 2015, in Dallas, Texas, at the American Airlines Center, and the gigantic stadium was packed to the brim. The energy was not like anything I had ever experienced before. It was like a giant family reunion with like-minded patriots who all knew Donald Trump was the one guy who could finally chip away at the corrupt political system.

September 14, 2015 Trump Rally, Dallas, Texas

Since then, I have been an unflinching supporter of our president. In 2016, I saw that my local Republican party wasn’t putting up signs in support of Trump, so I stepped up to fill the void, buying and erecting Trump signs across my area of town in New Mexico to support the future President.

Although the president did not win my state in 2016, he won the presidency nonetheless, and he’s accomplished more than any president in the history of our country in just one short term. He chopped the head off of ISIS, brokered historic peace deals in the Middle East, moved the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, unemployment reached a record low 3.5%, he championed through a vaccine for the China Virus in record time, he massively cut regulations on business and industry, majorly defunded Planned Parenthood, the United States reached energy independence, he chipped away at the Obamacare disaster, he lowered taxes, confirmed over 230 federal judges in record time, he built 452 miles of southern border wall, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Here’s a full list.

As President Trump said at the Values Voter Summit in 2019, “They’re coming after me because I’m fighting for you.” And boy, has he fought for us every step of the way in every single regard. And although the 2020 election was stolen from him due to massive voter fraud across the board, his legacy will live on, and I am proud to have fought alongside him to champion his agenda and to try to stop the Democrats from stealing the election.

We have a long and hard fight ahead, and that same spirit we brought to fight against the Democrats’ steal, we must now channel to fight against the wickedness of the upcoming illegitimate administration of Joe Biden, who has promised to completely change our country.

All the progress President Trump made in four years can be eroded by Joe Biden. Biden has promised to raise taxes, hike energy costs with a “Green New Deal,” fund late-term abortions, focus on transgender issues, rip down the wall on our southern border, install unaffordable socialist “Bidencare,” defund the police, and worst of all, “negotiate” with the Chinese, who oppress their own people and have had shady business dealings with Biden in the past.

We must all resist Joe Biden and Kamala Harris with all of our might, not only to avenge President Trump but to salvage what’s left of our nation after a Biden administration. Just like me, I know many of you fought like hell, from protesting in front of the New Mexico Capitol, the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, and even in front of abortion facilities; we need to amp up our efforts.

We must demand our state legislatures put forth voting integrity mechanisms, including paper ballots, signature matching, voter ID, a ban on ballot harvesting, removal of Dominion voting machines, and mandated poll challengers and watchers to see every single vote being counted and cast at every single precinct.

If we allow the Democrats to steal more elections in 2022 and beyond, our work and time spent protesting will be for naught. Email and call state representatives, members of Congress, and any elected leader who will hear you. No matter what the Democrats and feckless RINOs try to do to us, never let them stop hearing your voices.

I am committed to fighting for our rights here in New Mexico and beyond with everything I’ve got, and I hope you will join me. From wherever you live across this great nation, we must never give an inch to Biden and his fraudulent, wicked administration, which is chock-full of swamp rats and career D.C. insiders who absolutely despise the common man and woman.

President Trump forever will be our 45th president and I will recognize him as the current president, as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been frauded into office. No matter when you got on the Trump Train, I implore you to never get off. It is not easy to fight, but nothing worth fighting for is ever easy. God bless you, my fellow patriots, and may you never lose the spirit in your hearts and your love for this great country, which we have the honor of calling the United States of America.

The battle has just begun. Stand up and fight like hell, patriots.

While American patriots marched from the White House to the U.S. Capitol to demand members of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate vote not to certify a certainly fraudulent election, those supposed “leaders,” including Vice President Mike Pence and traitorous members of Congress defied the will of the people and certified an illegitimate election in favor of Joe Biden.

All the information about how protesters got inside the U.S. Capitol and who they truly are is still a mystery. However, some Americans’ actions–good and bad–will forever remain in the history books as a monumental start to what will be a battle for our nation.

This was the point in history beyond reconciliation. Americans finally saw those in public office who are fighters for the Constitution and those who are sellouts to the Washington, D.C. swamp. Only 147 brave public officials in Congress stood up and rejected the stolen election, while the rest revealed their true colors.

This battle for our nation will be long, hard-fought, and be the start of many more clashes between crooks who look to cling to their power and those who get up every day to fight for Americans across our country who only want goodness and rightness for what is left of our republic.

As they have done for the past four years, the Radical Left–aided by the biased media machine and big tech oligarchs–will continue to try and discredit us, shame us, and tear us down for supporting our President. They will doxx us, they will try to break our families apart, get us fired from our jobs, spread rumors about us, and maybe most importantly, try to kill our spirit.

These attacks, aided by a spineless and hollow “Republican” establishment, will not cease. If anything, they will get louder, more emboldened, and increasingly violent. Many GOP “leaders” will cry out against us, but their self-centered manufactured outrage must not matter to us. The bloodshed of patriots will not matter to them as they defile and curdle the very identity of our nation.

But we, as New Mexicans and Americans, must never stop fighting for our values and against fraudulent elections that happen far too often in our state. The crooks have been taking over our government for decades, but if we do not fight back now, there won’t be a country left to save.

Take courage, my fellow patriots. The fight will be long and hard, but I will be fighting right alongside you every step of the way. The enemy’s voice may be loud, but ours is louder. Never, ever stop fighting for our Country. Do it for our children and our children’s children. Their future depends on our actions now.

What you can do:

Stand up and fight like hell, patriots.

Join a pro-Trump protest in your community, such as one that happens each Saturday in front of the New Mexico state Capitol in Santa Fe.

Connect with your local Republican Party, and if the leaders of that local chapter are RINOs (Republicans in Name Only), organize other patriots to attend meetings and vote the establishment out in numbers.

Despite Democrat leaders locking the public out of the Capitol for the upcoming Legislative Session, show up anyway in numbers and demand they hear your voices. Scream and shout as loud as your voices can carry you. Do not stop writing your legislators’ offices and inundating their inboxes about bills and amendments until they can’t take it anymore.

Ram down these legislators’ throats the demand for free and fair elections, without crooked operating systems tallying votes and late-night ballot dumps of fraudulent “absentee” ballots that have been sitting in closets and suitcases. Demand Voter ID, purging of illegitimate voters on the rolls, and ballot harvesting.

Consider runs for public office in your communities. Take out RINO politicians who vote with Democrats, such as many of the state representatives and senators who currently sit in the Santa Fe Capitol. Find those who did not stand up and fight and demand they tell you why. Why did they cower in fear while New Mexicans suffer? Look up their freedom scores on places like the Rio Grande Foundation and the American Conservative Union. If they don’t represent your values, mount primary challenges to them and boot them the hell out of office. The same thing goes for every other elected office across our state. If they don’t fight for us, then fire them.

If we organize in numbers to take back our government one step at a time, we will. Never stop resisting tyranny and never stop looking toward the horizon at what we can do if we work together and finally take out the trash that has been rotting in the Santa Fe and Washington, D.C. swamps. I am with you, my fellow patriots. We must all stick together and remember that there a lot more of us than there are of them. Stop the steal.

The battle has just begun. Stand up and fight like hell, patriots. Read More »

‘March for Trump’ bus passes through New Mexico

On Tuesday, Amy Kremer, Chair of Women for America First, posted a video of her organization’s bus stopping through New Mexico.

The group’s “March for Trump” bus looks to have stopped through the state on the way to its first stop in Nevada, according to Kremer’s post and the roadmap posted on TrumpMarch.com. The bus looks to have passed through I-40, meaning it passed through Albuquerque toward Gallup and Grants.

Women for America First organized the massive “Stop the Steal” and “Million MAGA March” rallies in Washington, D.C. and across the country against Democrat voter fraud. At the last rally, President Trump flew over the crowd in Marine One to greet the countless attendees. The bus tour is funded by Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow, along with Right Side Broadcasting and other partners.

“Good morning #NewMexico! The #MarchForTrump is headed to #Nevada today. If you see us, give us a big 👍,” wrote Kremer in her Twitter post.

If Piñon Post readers see the bus on its way to Nevada, please send them to us so we can update our story!

Hundreds of pro-Trump patriots rally against election fraud at Roundhouse in Santa Fe

On Saturday, hundreds of pro-Trump patriots rallied at the Capitol in Santa Fe for a “Return NM Protest” hosted by members of Bikers for Trump and Schumacher’s Guns. The well-attended protest is just the latest of the weekly demonstrations happening across the state, where patriotic American flag-wielding Trump supporters have gathered to protest Democrat fraud in American elections.

Among the speakers were Couy Griffin, an Otero County Commissioner and leader of Cowboys for Trump, members of Bikers for Trump New Mexico, and other local activists.

Griffin led the masses in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer while Leanna Derrick, a member of the Navajo Nation, led the crowd in the National Anthem.

“There’s one document that they’re after right now, and that’s our Constitution,” Griffin stated in his remarks, adding, “Some of the most radical progressives in the United States will soon be going back through the doors of this Roundhouse, and the policy that they’re going to be putting forward is going to be a policy that’s going to oppress and cripple the people of our great state of New Mexico. I hate to say that, but it’s what they’ve been doing for the last eighty years.

Griffin also touched on the proven Democrat election fraud happening across the country, calling the 2020 election the “most fraudulent election that we have ever had.” He added, “I truly do believe that the truth is going to come out, the questions are going to be demanded to be answered, the Supreme Court is going to make a judgment, and the election is either going to be deemed fraudulent — thrown completely out — or made right. We’re going to have four more years of Donald Trump, one of the two.”

Audrey Trujillo of Corrales and a woman named April from Española also spoke about taking the fight to the Democrats and overturning the fraud in the 2020 election. “The more that the fraud is coming to light, the more that people are opening their eyes,” said April.

Joshua James of the “American National Academy” accurately characterized any law violating the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution as “treason,” adding that, “there’s a hundred different forms of treason we can get these people on, but we only need one.”

Many other lively patriots addressed the crowd about the importance of supporting President Trump, standing up for Constitutional rights, and stopping the fraudulent 2020 election.

4.5-mile-long caravan of patriotic Trump supporters parade into Santa Fe for ‘Stop the Steal’ rally

On Saturday, as part of the nationwide “Stop the Steal” rallies in support for a legal and fair election, patriots paraded into Santa Fe to the state Capitol to back the President as Democrats have been “finding” ballots in key swing states helping former Vice President Joe Biden.

On the way to Santa Fe from Albuquerque was a 4.5-mile caravan of patriots, ready to rally for a free and fair election.

Once the parade got to Santa Fe, it featured included notable figures in the state, such as Cowboys for Trump’s Couy Griffin, also an Otero County Commissioner, who rode into the Capitol on his horse, Red, and carrying a flag emblazoned with a Republican Party elephant.

Many folks carried Trump flags and signs, “Come and Take It” flags, and many American flags.
