House committees to hear radical abortion, election proposals Friday

On Friday, two New Mexico House committees will consider extreme Democrat-sponsored proposals that would make major changes to state government.

Elections

The House Government, Elections, and Indian Affairs Committee will hear H.B. 4, which is a major measure sponsored by Speaker Javier Martínez (D-Bernalillo), House Majority Floor Leader Gail Chasey (D-Bernalillo), among other Democrats from both chambers.

The bill would create an automatic absentee voter registry and automatic registration at the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) without customers’ consent, felon voting, among other measures that would be ripe for fraud.

The committee will hear the bill at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Room 305 at the Capitol in Santa Fe. Attend the meeting via Zoom and testify on the bill with the below information:

Abortion, Gender

The House Health and Human Services Committee will meet Friday to discuss H.B. 7, which would “prohibit public bodies from discriminating against persons based on their use or non-use of reproductive or gender-affirming care,” meaning it could push teachers and any other public workers to support body mutilation for all ages, including children, as well as abortion, according to the bill’s fiscal impact report.

So-called “gender-affirming care” means “psychological, behavioral, surgical, medication, and other medical services to support a person’s gender identity,” while “public bodies” are defined as “state and local governments, commissions, or boards established by the state and any branches of state government, such as school districts and universities, that receive state funding.”

The committee will hear the bill at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Room 307 at the Capitol in Santa Fe. Attend the meeting via Zoom and testify on the bill with the below information:

Rep. Herrell’s message to voters of NM’s Second District: ‘I’m not done yet’

On Friday, Congresswoman Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second District released a statement for the citizens of the District. She narrowly lost reelection to Democrat Gabe Vasquez in the November 8 election after Democrats gerrymandered the congressional map to remove the only Republican-leaning district. Despite that, Herrell came within approximately 1,000 votes of Vasquez.

Herrell wrote in the note to constituents, “Thank you for the opportunity to represent you in the US House of Representatives these last two action-packed years.”

“I have endeavored to defend your values, stand up for veterans and first responders, secure our borders, and be a voice for the ranchers, farmers, energy producers, and small businesses who keep our communities running. During my time in Congress, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with countless great patriots in New Mexico, people who are willing to fight for freedom and prosperity.”

She continued:

These courageous men and women remain strong in hard times and don’t care about what the media or the Washington Establishment says–as long as they’re on the side of truth and justice.

These patriots are moms and dads, employees and business owners, police and military; some bring the great wisdom and experience of many years, and others have the youthful energy we need to carry the banner of liberty forward to the next generation.

All will play a part in saving our great nation.

That is why, as I depart Washington and head home to the plains and mountains we know so well, I know the future is in good hands, no matter what challenges lie ahead.

Serving the hardworking families of New Mexico has been my greatest honor, and I’m not done yet.

Herrell has already filed paperwork for a rematch in 2024, and she has also hinted at a big announcement early next year, which could be her formally jumping in the ring for a bid to return to Congress.

Herrell drops another hint about possible 2024 run

While speaking on Real America’s Voice’s “Just the News – Not Noise” with John Solomon and Amanda Head, GOP Congresswoman Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District gave another hint that she is running for the seat in 2024.

Herrell, who currently holds the position, was narrowly defeated by Democrat Gabe Vasquez, a far-leftist, in the November 8 election after Democrats gerrymandered the district to benefit Democrats. The current congressional maps are in litigation and could be overturned if they are ruled to be drawn for partisan political gain.

“Congressman, you are beloved by the people of New Mexico. You have consistently been a very sage voice in Congress, and I know that the people of New Mexico, in particular, would like to know what’s on the horizon for you,” Head said to Herrell.

Herrell responded, “You know what, I have been asked by so many people to stay in the fight, and I will because it is just too important for our country, our state, and just to know that we have an opportunity to change the course of America by getting ourselves back on track. Putting American sovereignty [and] American security first. So, all options are certainly on the table, but I will definitely be staying in the fight, and next year, we will definitely be making some announcements for sure.”

The latest development comes after Herrell filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for a 2024 matchup against Vasquez.

She previously wrote in a November 17 email, “We know our work in Washington was not completed, and hundreds of people from all over the District and colleagues in Washington have asked me to stay in the fight…all options will be on the table – so stay tuned.”

Rep. Herrell, narrowly defeated by Democrat, files paperwork for 2024

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-CD-2), who narrowly lost reelection to far-left Democrat Gabe Vasquez, had filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for the 2024 election.

Vasquez’s campaign wrote about the news, “Gabe is preparing to serve New Mexico’s working families in Washington this January, but in the meantime, we need to rebuild our campaign’s funds to prepare for the rematch ahead.”

The campaign claimed Herrell is a “far-right extremist” in an email, despite the Congresswoman not being extremist in the slightest. Vasquez used this type of rhetoric on the campaign trail to attempt to discredit Herrell.

Herrell hinted at another run in a November 17 email, writing:

No doubt, we are heartbroken for New Mexico, especially knowing we lost this seat by LESS THAN 1% in a district that was intentionally re-drawn to take me out of office by a much greater margin. In fact, we had amazing gains in every Democrat county – including Dona Ana County where we took 43% of the vote – which was a five point gain from just two years ago!

I can assure you, it wasn’t for a lack of effort by our amazing campaign team. We knocked over 100,000 doors, made over 75,000 calls and made countless trips throughout the District. Unfortunately, the slim margin did not trigger an automatic re-count of the vote total, and our team could not identify any irregularities that would have warranted requesting one.

After reviewing the outcomes, we can see by our data that voter turn out, by both parties, was lower than anticipated, but sadly, lower in some of the large Republican counties that could possibly have tipped the scale.

It has been my greatest honor serving the people of New Mexico in the capacity as their US Representative in Congress. We were able to deliver solid results for our state – even while serving in the Minority. Our Constituent Services team closed over 2000 cases with a 98% success rate! I could not be more proud of how our team made a difference.

We know our work in Washington was not completed, and hundreds of people from all over the District and colleagues in Washington have asked me to stay in the fight…all options will be on the table – so stay tuned.

Again, thank you for your support, prayers and kindness, and thank you for believing in me the way I believed in myself!

The report from Herrell’s campaign was filed on November 22, 2022, right before the Thanksgiving holiday break.

Herrell won the election in 2020 against Democrat incumbent Rep. Xochitl Torres Small. She lost reelection to Vasquez in the November 2022 election by around a mere 1,000 votes after far-left Democrats in the state legislature gerrymandered New Mexico’s three congressional districts to favor Democrats.

The gerrymandered maps are currently in litigation and could be overturned, returning the Second District from favoring Democrats by four points to the previous map, which had the Second District favoring Republicans by 14 percentage points.

Democrat gerrymandering ends in win for anti-police Gabe Vasquez

On Wednesday afternoon, Democrat Gabe Vasquez declared victory in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District race against incumbent Republican Rep. Yvette Herrell, who has held the seat since 2021.

Rep. Herrell wrote the following in a concession statement:

While we are disappointed by the final results, I am incredibly proud of our team and the work we did serving our district, and I am grateful for the steadfast support of so many who helped us along the way. I’d also like to congratulate Gabe Vasquez on his victory.

Two years ago, the Democrats in Santa Fe announced they would gerrymander our district to ensure they would totally control our state’s federal delegation. Unfortunately, they did just that, ignoring the will of the people in the process by splitting up communities of interest and concentrating power in urban areas at the expense of rural New Mexico voices. While this was enough to give them a victory by less than 1% in this election, I am confident in our party’s ability to retake this seat next cycle as Joe Biden’s agenda continues to damage our great nation. Stay tuned!

Vasquez, who was hand-picked by Democrat Sen. Martin Heinrich, who lives in Maryland, to run for the seat, only won due to Democrats’ aggressive partisan gerrymandering of New Mexico’s congressional map, which is currently pending in court. The map totally disregarded communities of interest and cut major chunks of the formerly conservative district into others, leaving three Democrat-dominated districts.

During the redistricting process, Democrat groups paid activists to show up at Citizens Redistricting Committee meetings and spew leftist propaganda to push for gerrymandered maps. The Democrat-controlled Legislature ultimately chucked out all the work of the supposed “nonpartisan” committee and instead just rammed through extreme partisan maps for political gain.

If the case is won by the Republican Party, it would switch the district back to the compact, non-gerrymandered previous maps, which had one central Albuquerque District and the northern and southern districts, the north leaning Democrat, while the south leaning Republican.

The move was pushed by Democrat soon-to-be former New Mexico House Speaker, who was accused of using his power to ram through nakedly partisan maps via a dark money group, the Center for Civic Policy.

As of Tuesday night, Vasquez and Herrell both were tied at 50 percent, with the Democrat narrowly leading by 1,277 votes.

The loss in the Second District comes as national Democrats, including U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, dunked tons of cash into the race to help Vasquez cross the finish. Polls in the race consistently showed a nearly tied contest.

Vasquez is a rabid opponent of the police, who backed “deconstructing” and defunding police departments. He supports full-term abortion, the Green New Deal, and a whole swath of other extremist left-wing policies.

Poll: Herrell leads Vasquez, governor’s race a statistical tie

A new poll conducted by Emerson College for KRQE 13 shows Republican incumbent Rep. Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District is leading her Democrat challenger by double digits.

Among likely voters. Herrell got 54 percent support, while Vasquez got 41 percent. Four percent of respondents were undecided.

When the poll factored in undecided voters, Herrell led Vasquez by 54 to 44 percent — a ten percentage point advantage.

These numbers are starkly different than the Albuquerque Journal poll released earlier this week, claiming Herrell was trailing Vasquez by two percentage points.

The poll surveyed 203 likely voters between October 25 and October 28 with a margin of error of 5.6 percent.

The same Emmerson poll also found Republican Mark Ronchetti trailing Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham by a mere three percentage points.

However, when factoring in undecided voters and who they were leaning toward voting for at the time, Lujan Grisham got 50 percent support while Ronchetti garnered 48 percent — only a two-point lead.

The governor poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters during the same timeline. The margin of error was a smaller 3.02 percent, meaning the race is in a statistical tie.

Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight rates Emerson College’s poll an A-, meaning it is one of the best in the nation.

Gabe Vasquez brags about Dem gerrymandering for political gain

On Monday, far-left Gabe Vasquez, the Democrat nominee for Congress in the Second Congressional District, sent out a press release bragging about the Democrats’ partisan gerrymandered maps making it easier for a leftist to reclaim the Second District from Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell.

Vasquez, in a press release, wrote regarding a new Democrat-funded poll that shows him leading by one point, “The poll was conducted by Global Strategy Group and shared exclusively to National Journal Hotline, which noted that, after redistricting, … Republican Herrell is one of the most vulnerable Republican members in the country.”

“Redistricting moved the 2nd Congressional district from a Trump +12 to Biden +6 district and that is reflected in these results,” it concludes.

The Democrats rammed through maps drawn by the left-wing dark money group “Center for Civic Policy” (CCP), which gerrymandered New Mexico’s congressional districts to favor Democrats and steal the voice of conservatives, especially those living in the Second District.

The gerrymandered CCP map segregates the South Valley of Albuquerque into the Second District and lumps a large chunk of Albuquerque into a strange district that sprawls all the way to Roswell. The strange shape of the districts also lumps Hobbs with communities like Española and Santa Fe, which have astronomically different cultures and needs. The snake-like figures in the Democrats’ gerrymander denote signs of extreme partisan redistricting for political gain.

But despite that, Vasquez is bragging about the partisan ploy to steal back the Second District by hook or by crook. The map is currently in litigation.

Vasquez believes the United States is a racist country, believes in abortion up-to-birth, and supports sweeping socialist policies, such as the destructive Green New Deal.

FEC reports: Pelosi, disgraced state Rep. Georgene Louis donate big to Vasquez

Federal Election Commission reports recently hit for candidates running for U.S. House. We analyzed the donations and expenses of all three Democrat nominees. Here’s how much money they raised and spent in the second quarter.

Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico’s First Congressional District brought in a total of $136,878.94. Her donors include the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians ($2,900), the Solar Energy Industries Association PAC ($1,000), the George Soros-funded League of Conservation Voters Action Fund ($40), Ted Lieu for Congress ($1,000 – Democrat U.S. representative from California), Progressive Majority PAC ($1,000), Democrat Santa Fe-area state Sen. Liz Stefanics ($250), and Democrat Santa Fe-area state Sen. Peter Wirth ($500).

Stansbury spent $60,190.06 in the second quarter, most of her expenses being donations to other far-left Democrats’ political committees. Those included $500 donations to Tony Vargas for Congress (NE), Caraveo for Congress (CO), Scholten for Congress (MI), Susan Wild for Congress (PA), Christina Bohannan for Congress (IA), Sharice for Congress (KS), Jay Chen for Congress (CA), Rudy Salas for Congress (CA), Emilia Sykes for Congress (OH), Nevadans for Steven Horsford (NV), and Brittany Pettersen for Colorado (CO).

The far-left Democrat also gave $1,000 to Gabe Vasquez, running for New Mexico’s Second Congressional District, $1,000 to incumbent Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez of New Mexico’s Third Congressional District, and $1,500 to state Rep. Andrea Romero of Santa Fe.

Rep. Leger Fernandez raised a grand total of $350,702.25 in the reporting period. Her donors included End Citizens United PAC ($5,000), Bringing Everyone Together Through Advocacy PAC ($3,000), AIPAC ($2,900), Santa Fe attorney and former congressional candidate Rani McGinn ($2,900), the Pueblo of Isleta ($2,800), “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin ($1,500), Veronica Escobar for Congress ($1,000 – Texas), The Wilderness Society Action Fund PAC ($1,000), Jamie Raskin for Congress ($2,000 – Maryland), NRDC Action Fund Inc., PAC ($1,000), LRA PAC ($1,000), Indivisible Action ($1,000), Castro for Congress ($1,000 – Texas), Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut ($1,000), former U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman ($1,000), state Sen. Peter Wirth and his wife, Nancy ($1,000 combined), and Albuquerque late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd’s wife, Glenna Halverson-Boyd ($1,000).

Leger Fernandez’s expenses totaled $57,855.56, with payments of $3,201.83 to partisan operative Kyra Ellis-Moore, consulting fees to Elections in Motion for $9,708.75, and MRM & Co. for $3,500, among other expenses. The far-left congresswoman also spent a lot on food, with a payment of $281.00 to District Taco and $233.60 to Chopsmith, both restaurants in Washington, D.C. She is left with $1,219,829.45 cash-on-hand.

Extreme far-left candidate for New Mexico’s Second Congressional District, Gabe Vasquez, raised a total of $411,876.96 in the reporting period, with help from Democrat U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ($2,000) Ted Lieu for Congress ($4,000), House Majority PAC ($10,000), Elect More Democrats PAC ($1,000), PAC to the Future ($5,000), Veronica Escobar for Congress ($1,000), Progressive Turnout PAC ($1,000), and former U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman and Cynthia Bingaman ($1,250 combined).

Vasquez also received a $1,500 donation from disgraced state Rep. Georgene Louis (D-Albuquerque), who was arrested and charged for driving while under the influence. She was the subject of an ethics complaint for using her office for personal gain by noting how she was a legislator during the encounter with police.

Vasquez spent a massive amount on polling, with a $44,000 disbursement to the New York City-based Global Strategy Group. He also spent big on printing, with disbursements of $19,165.18 and $17,906.52 to the Arlington, Virginia-based Deliver Strategies LLC. His total expenditures for the period came to $145,278.13, leaving him with $623,230.37 cash-on-hand. Vasquez is endorsed by the abortion up-to-birth group NARAL.

Notably, the finance reports show tighter races in the Second and Third Congressional Districts due to the volume of donations and expenditures, while Stansbury looks more comfortable due to her large number of contributions to other Democrat candidates and not her own race as much. In Vasquez’s race, the establishment Democrat machine has clearly noticed the race as a pickup opportunity, and Pelosi has put her full power behind flipping the seat back to Democrat control. Incumbent U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell, however, has strong allies who will pour much money into the state to keep her in the House.

Rep. Herrell becomes ranking member of U.S. House panel

On Friday, it was reported that Congresswoman Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District ascended to the role of ranking member of the U.S. House Oversight and Reform Environment Subcommittee.

POLITICO reports that Herrell “succeeds Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) in the spot. She would likely become the subcommittee chair if Republicans take the House majority in this year’s elections and the party keeps the current subcommittee structure.”

The position now gives Herrell the opportunity to be a “top critic” of Joe Biden’s radical anti-oil and gas agenda, which has created five-dollar gas prices and economic failures across the board.

The full committee’s ranking member, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), said, “As a lifelong New Mexican, Representative Herrell understands the importance of preserving our environment for all to enjoy and ensuring Americans’ access to affordable, clean energy to power their homes and fuel their cars.”

“The Biden Administration has waged war on domestic energy production, and Representative Herrell is fighting to protect the Americans whose jobs and livelihoods rely on this industry,” he continued, “ adding, “Herrell is fighting to protect the Americans whose jobs and livelihoods rely on this industry. We look forward to Representative Herrell leading our oversight of the Biden Administration’s radical Green New Deal policies that are harming Americans nationwide.”

“I am honored to be appointed the Ranking Member of the Environment Subcommittee by my friend, Ranking Member Comer,” said Representative Herrell.

“I am excited for the opportunity to stand up for my constituents who have been railroaded by reckless, one-size-fits-all executive actions by this administration. I will work to provide oversight over executive actions that have increased energy prices, harmed American agriculture, and ignored the expertise of local families and businesses. I am proud to champion New Mexico’s legacy of environmental stewardship and lead Republican members on the Environment Subcommittee.”
