Pro-lifers react to MLG’s plan to spend $10M tax dollars on Cruces abortion mill

On Wednesday, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM) announced during a press conference that she will be signing an executive order pledging $10 million to build a state-funded abortion mill in Doña Ana County. This would come from 2023 capital outlay funds if she gets re-elected in November.

“This is a state that will stand against any attempts to remove or eviscerate women’s constitutional rights,” claimed Lujan Grisham, despite the U.S. Supreme Court affirming that there is no constitutional right to kill a child in the womb.

Pro-lifers quickly responded to Lujan Grisham’s extreme use of taxpayer funds on a live stream held by Southwest Coalition for Life.

Attorney Mike Seibel of Abortion on Trial said, “This is a complete diversion to provide New Mexico as the back-alley abortion clinic for Texas.”

Southwest Coalition for Life wrote in a press release, “New Mexico women have one of the lowest rates of abortion, and according to statistics from the New Mexico Department of Health, 80% of abortions in New Mexico happen in Albuquerque, meaning less than 500 women from Doña Ana County are seeking abortions each year.”

“Considering the influx of private abortion business already flocking to Las Cruces, there is no other reason for the governor to spend $10 million on what will now be a fifth abortion center in Doña Ana County unless she is specifically targeting Texas women in the county that borders El Paso, Texas.”

State Sen. David Gallegos (R-Eunice) said during the live stream, “This will be done in Senate Finance and House appropriations. What we need to start doing is contacting our state legislators and letting them know that this is unacceptable. We need to put a stop to this.” He added, “If she wants to put something somewhere and say she cares, then why not put this towards the pregnancy centers and maternity homes?”

Seibel encouraged pro-lifers to take action by contacting their local 40 Days for Life group while pointing out, “Just this year, the abortionist Franz Theard in Santa Teresa is up from 140 abortions a month to 260 a month. We’re seeing a doubling of Texas women coming from out of state.”

In July, hundreds of pro-lifers rallied outside an abortion mill soon to open in Las Cruces, where national pro-life leaders joined in standing up for the right to life. These massive numbers of pro-lifers are expected only to multiply as Lujan Grisham continues to assault the right to life in New Mexico.

According to a recent Albuquerque Journal poll, 59 percent of New Mexico voters polled support limits on abortion, putting abortion up-to-birth supporters in the extreme minority with just 35 percent support.

In November, the Governor faces Republican nominee Mark Ronchetti, who has pledged to work across the aisle, if elected, to enact limits on abortions, affirming what the 59 percent of voters agree: Unlimited abortions in New Mexico are out-of-step with the populous.

Poll proves most NM voters are pro-life, abortion up-to-birth Dems in extreme minority

A new poll commissioned by the Albuquerque Journal proved once again that most New Mexicans are pro-life and support restrictions on the life-ending abortion procedure.

The poll conducted by Research & Pollinc Inc. between August 19 and August 25 with a sample size of 518 voters found that 35 percent of New Mexicans support abortion up-to-birth, meaning no restrictions whatsoever.

Twenty-two percent supported some legal limits on abortion, while 25 percent say abortion should be legal only in cases of rape or incest, while 12 percent say abortion should always be illegal.

Therefore, adding up those who back bans on all abortions with minor exceptions and those who think it should always be illegal adds up to 37 percent — more than the abortion up-to-birth supporters. If adding those who believe in some limitations on abortion to those who believe in minor or total abortion bans, the extreme majority of the state (59 percent) backs abortion limits.

24 percent of Republicans, five percent of Democrats, and eight percent of declined to state and Libertarians say abortion should always be illegal. 41 percent of Republicans, 11 percent of Democrats, and 28 percent of other voters say abortion should be legal with minor exceptions. Among those who support some limitations on abortion, 28 percent of minor party and independent voters agree, along with 24 percent of Democrats, and 18 percent of Republicans.

Among those who believe abortion should always be legal, Democrats lead with 55 percent in that category, eight percent of Republicans, and 35 percent of other voters.

The poll also reveals how out-of-touch politicians such as Michelle Lujan Grisham and other Democrats are on the issue of abortion, with only a minor 35 percent of the state agreeing abortion should be legal in any case without exceptions.

We previously reported regarding a CNN interview Lujan Grisham had with the network’s Jake Tapper:

She then went on to tout her signing of the anti-life law, telling Tapper, “We eliminated an antiquated New Mexico unconstitutional ban on abortion that criminalized providers. And while it was never utilized, providers were, in fact, nervous about it. Could see sort of the tipping point at the U.S. Supreme Court and were very clear that that needed to be removed from our statutory framework, which we did about a year ago.”

The bill flatly stripped all protections for babies in the womb, mothers, and medical professionals, creating an unsafe, unregulated abortion free-for-all in the state of New Mexico.

Then Tapper told Lujan Grisham that most Americans support some restrictions on abortion, telling the Governor, “The polls also indicate the American people, as a whole, do support some restrictions on abortion. What is the law in New Mexico? Are there any restrictions?”

Lujan Grisham responded, “There are no restrictions. given that we interpret and I agree that, again, per this new Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, is this is a privacy right and a personal decision between a woman and her doctor. and to interfere in any of these medical decisions creates, and it has, unknown, untold reductions in civil liberties for any number of individuals.”

She piled on, “Here, we would love to do as much as we can to focus on maternal health and prenatal health, to make sure that we have fewer and fewer and fewer and eliminate all unwanted pregnancies. however, in these late-term abortion issues, these are women who have picked a name, have enrolled in child care, who have a nursery. The kind of medical issues and deeply private, personal traumas that are occurring in those aspects, I don’t believe government has any right to interfere and judge those decisions when two medical providers are providing that information directly to their patient.”

Abortion up-to-birth Gov. MLG claims we must ‘protect ALL of our children’

In another spout of irony, far-left Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham claimed “we must protect ALL of our children,” citing a shooting in Uvalde which left 19 children and two adults dead.

Lujan Grisham wrote, “In the wake of Uvalde, I think about our children’s safety every day. Democratic governors are the last line of defense against gun violence, and we must protect ALL of our children. For the security of your families and mine, vote like our kids’ lives depend on it.”

The Governor using the slain children as political props to push for anti-gun measures is not new since she has done this on multiple other occasions in the wake of mass shootings to weaponize the issue for political gain.

But even more ironic, Lujan Grisham’s tweet claims to want to “protect ALL of our children” and save “our kids’ lives,” but backs policies to kill the most vulnerable babies in the womb up to the date of their birth.

In 2021, Lujan Grisham signed a law stripping all protections for mothers, children, and babies, legalizing abortion up to the date of birth. Planned Parenthood and pro-abortion groups rejoiced when she did this.

So Lujan Grisham saying she supports “ALL” children while pushing anti-gun laws to strip citizens of the right to defend themselves and promoting killing children through abortions does not pass the smell test.

Sens. Heinrich and Luján meet with abortionists, ‘advocates’ in Las Cruces

Far-left abortion up-to-birth Sens. Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Luján met with abortion “providers” on Tuesday in Las Cruces to discuss killing more babies in the womb in New Mexico. Shannon Brewer, the executive director of the former Jackson Women’s Health Organization, was in attendance. Her abortion mill relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico, after Dobbs v. Jackson overturned the pro-abortion Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey decisions — sending the abortion question back to the states.

In a post, Heinrich called New Mexico a “safe haven” for killing babies while promoting abortion tourism in the state.

“I’m grateful to all the local health care providers and advocates I met with today who are making sure New Mexicans and others from neighboring states get … [abortions],” he said.

He added, “The fight continues, and we will not stop until we permanently protect the right to choose (abortion) for every woman across this nation.”

Lujan wrote, “In Las Cruces, @MartinHeinrich and I met with reproductive health care advocates to talk about the war on reproductive freedom and how we can continue working together to provide essential care to all women.”

It should be noted that abortion is not a necessary medical procedure in any circumstance, and therefore, it is not “health care.” It also does not involve “reproduction” since it kills the child before birth, thus stopping the reproductive process.

New Mexicans responded after Heinrich and Luján posted their anti-life sentiments.

“‘Care’ doesn’t permanently stop a heart on PURPOSE,” one New Mexican wrote.

Another chimed in, “Hypocrite Heinrich supports whatever it takes to keep the black percentage of the population from growing. Stabbing a formaldehyde-filled needle into the skull at the moment of birth is fine with him–4x as fine if the kid is black.”

One person wrote, “I thought men couldn’t comment on the issue of killing babies?” poking a hole in the two far-left senators’ leftist logic.

New Mexico is the abortion capital of the United States, with no protections left for women, babies, or medical professionals after Democrats, upon the request of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, legalized abortion up-to-birth in 2021 with no exceptions.

ABQ City Council votes 5-4 to force taxpayers to fund Planned Parenthood

On Monday, the Albuquerque City Council reaffirmed its previous vote to force city taxpayers to fork over $250,000 to fund the Planned Parenthood corporation, which kills babies in the womb.

Despite claiming the partnership with the abortion company was only for necessary medical procedures, it would still force Albuquerque taxpayers to fund abortions.

New Mexico Alliance for Life wrote on Facebook following the vote, “ABQ City Council Votes 5-4 to Keep Forced Taxpayer Abortion Funding. Pro-Abortion ABQ Republican Trudy Jones Votes with Radical Dems.”

In a previous email from the group, it wrote, “This unprecedented action of the Albuquerque City Council to directly fund a multi-million [dollar] abortion corporate empire is not only an abuse of taxpayer funds but goes against 73% of Americans who oppose taxpayer-funded abortions.”

73% of Americans, including pro-choice individuals, women, and millennials, oppose mandated taxpayer funding of abortions, according to a recent Marist/Knights of Columbus poll.

In a previous op-ed from New Mexico Sun, City Councilor Renee Grout wrote, “This is not a simple disagreement on a political issue. For many people, abortion is sanctioned murder. It is wasteful and wrong to give $250,000 of taxpayer money to a business that makes $1.3 billion every year advocating for and performing this procedure.”

Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn, the sponsor of the $250,000 blank check to Planned Parenthood, was annoyed that the Council was revisiting the vote, saying, “Now is not the time to roll back something that we literally passed two months ago.”

MLG claims to support Dem, GOP ‘women’ — a term most Dems can’t define

Despite most Democrats not being able to define the simple term “women,” far-left Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham now claims to be placating not only Democrat women but Republican women also with one issue — abortion.

The scandal-ridden governor who paid off $150,000 to an alleged sexual assault victim and former staffer, is tripling and quadrupling down on what she perceives to be her number one issue: abortion.

Constant fundraising emails her campaign expels insist her GOP opponent, Mark Ronchetti, is an “anti-choice extremist” despite Ronchetti saying New Mexico must “permit” abortions up to the 15th gestational week.

But most New Mexicans and Americans disagree with Lujan Grisham’s abortion up-to-birth policies that, through 2021’s S.B. 10, stripped all protections for women, babies, and medical professionals while allowing abortion up to the baby’s date of birth — possibly after.

But now, in a Saturday Tweet, Lujan Grisham claims, “I’m not talking to Democratic women or Republican women. I’m talking to ALL women. Think hard about your right to make decisions about your body. We’re 100 days out from election day. Your vote will matter.”

The governor ignores the fact that an expectant mother’s body has different DNA than that of the baby in her womb, and therefore, the baby is a person. She still uses the “your body” trope to peddle her pro-abortion message.

One New Mexican replied to the governor, writing, “Did you support our rights when you closed schools houses of worship and local businesses? You threatened healthcare workers nurses and state employees with getting fired unless they got vaxxed. You’re a tyrannical hypocrite.”

The commentator is correct that Lujan Grisham threw out her supposed caring for “bodily autonomy” during the pandemic when she fired state workers for not taking the jab while mandating desperately needed health care workers to be inoculated. She also forcibly ejected elderly nursing home patients from the care and housing they desperately needed to push virus-positive patients into these centers. Now, the scandal-ridden potential one-term governor is claiming to stand for bodily autonomy.

But still, it is unclear if Lujan Grisham can define the word “woman.” Maybe someday, New Mexicans will have an answer to that question. But with reelection right around the corner, the Governor’s shot at reelection has dropped with her GOP opponent outraising her. The polls show New Mexico’s governorship is in a dead-heat to the finish line.

Alamogordo City Commission meeting Tuesday to vote on pro-life sanctuary measure

On Wednesday, the Alamogordo City Commission announced it will consider a resolution brought forward by Commissioner Karl Melton of District 3 to make Alamogordo a sanctuary city for the unborn.

The resolution affirms that “each and every innocent human life is unique and precious to God,” while “human life begins at the moment of conception and continues, uninterrupted, until the moment of natural death,” according to scientific evidence.

“[A]s recently as March 2017, the American College of Pediatricians published an Abstract stating that “The predominance of human biological research confirms that human life begins at conception – fertilization. At fertilization, the human being emerges as a whole, genetically distinct, individuated zygotic living human organism, a member of the species Homosapiens, needing only the proper environment to grow and develop. The difference between the individual in its adult state and in its zygotic state is one of form, not nature,” the resolution continues.

It concludes, “The City commission hereby declares itself a Sanctuary City for the Unborn.”

“I am incredibly proud to introduce this resolution to secure the most important right there is: the right to life. This issue has never been more important than it is today now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned. Pro-life public servants must do their part to keep abortion facilities out of their communities,” said Commissioner Melton about his proposed resolution. “With this measure, we are standing strong alongside our friends in the County to declare that the City of Alamogordo is a sanctuary city for the unborn. I could not be happier to stand up for the right to life.”

New Mexicans are urged to show up in support of the resolution, which is 2022-38. The meeting details are below:

WHERE: Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center, 800 E 1st St, Alamogordo, NM 88310

WHEN: Tuesday, August 2nd at 6:00 p.m.

WHAT: Stand in support of Resolution 2022-08 to declare Alamogordo a sanctuary city for the unborn.

ALERT: There is another resolution being proposed, 2022-37, which merely agrees with another resolution passed by the Otero County Commission. It does not, however, declare Alamogordo a sanctuary for the unborn. It is not the strongest resolution the commission could pass to boldly declare support for the unborn.

Commissioner Melton’s resolution is necessary since the Dobbs v. Jackson case decided on June 24, 2022, by the U.S. Supreme Court sent the abortion issue back to the states. Because of this, abortion centers have been targeting New Mexico as a “safe haven” for killing babies in the womb. Many abortion facilities have been making plans to move or are actively moving to New Mexico to kill more unborn children. With Resolution 2022-38, the City will boldly declare abortion is not welcome in the City of Alamogordo.

Pelosi shills for Teresa Leger Fernandez as Hispanics continue to flee Dem Party

While U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has a massive 49% unfavorability rating, according to Statista, that’s not stopping her from supporting vulnerable Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez of New Mexico’s Third Congressional District in her bid to keep her seat in November.

Pelosi recently tweeted out, “#DefendOurDemocracy: Re-elect Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez, Democrat in #NM03.”

In a June 25 fundraising email on behalf of Leger Fernandez, Pelosi wrote, “So… I’m asking you to step up in this moment of crisis” by donating money to the New Mexico Democrat.

She then pled to Democrat donors to help raise funds to reelect Leger Fernandez so far-left congressional Democrats can “codify” the pro-abortion Roe v. Wade decision into law.

According to Catholic Vote, both Pelosi and Leger Fernandez, who claim to be members of the Roman Catholic faith, have an “F” grade on the Catholic organization’s rankings.

Now with Pelosi shilling for Leger Fernandez, it appears the House Speaker is desperately trying to hold onto hard-to-win seats.

In the latest round of redistricting, Leger Fernandez’s seat was changed from a D+14 partisan swing to a mere D+5 after New Mexico House and Senate Democrats gerrymandered the Second Congressional District more Republican for partisan political gain.

The vulnerable Democrat now faces a rematch between Republican Alexis Martinez Johnson, who has recently been getting national headlines as Hispanics continue leaving the Democrat Party. This exodus was further exacerbated this week when Jill Biden compared Hispanic and Latino Americans to tacos.

Big Texas abortion business moving practice to NM

It was reported on Wednesday that another big Texas abortion business Whole Woman’s Health was moving the practice from Austin to somewhere on the New Mexico/Texas border to continue its practice of aborting children in the womb. According to Huffington Post, Whole Woman’s Health is the largest independent abortion provider in Texas.

This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson that there is no federal constitutional right to an abortion and the abortion question now moves back to the states.

The organization is notable for it being on the winning side of the Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt U.S. Supreme Court case in 2016 limiting Texas’ limits on abortion. Now, the State of Texas is getting its last laugh by effectively booting Whole Woman’s Health out of its state due to its pro-life laws.

New Mexico, which has no restrictions on abortion whatsoever after the Democrat-run legislature struck down all protections for women, unborn babies, and medical professionals in 2021, is seeing more abortionists move their practices to the state, such as Jackson Women’s Health Organization which is relocating from pro-life Mississippi to Las Cruces.

“With the shuttering of our four Texas clinics, we do not have the financial reserves to open in New Mexico without community support,” Amy Hagstrom Miller, president and CEO of Whole Woman’s Health, said in a statement, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Miller further proves that these abortion facilities like Planned Parenthood and Whole Woman’s Health are not profitable without the ability to kill babies in the womb at their centers. For a long time, pro-abortion proponents have claimed these abortion mills provide “a whole range of women’s health care.” But without abortion, these supposed “health care” facilities are closing down in pro-life states because, as Miller notes, it is not “financially” sustainable.

Albuquerque’s Southwestern Women’s Options performs abortions up to birth, while there are a few other abortion facilities in Santa Teresa near the Texas border, while another Planned Parenthood location is set to open in the area.

Abortion exec who lost Supreme Court case now moving facility to NM

Shannon Brewer whose abortion mill lost the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, is moving her abortion business from Jackson, Mississippi to Las Cruces. Dobbs overturned the pro-abortion Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992) decisions, which legalized abortion on demand in the United States. It now sends the abortion question back to the individual states.

The Texas Tribune reports, “Brewer’s team picked Las Cruces, about 40 miles north of El Paso, because of its proximity to Texas and its lack of abortion care. They found an old dentist’s office in the city this spring and hope to have their new clinic open [in July].”

Brewer touted how the new abortion facility in Las Cruces, which used to be a dental office, has a parking lot in the rear, making it harder for pro-life sidewalk counselors to help pregnant mothers turn around and not go through with the baby-killing abortion.

“You have antis who were in these 20-some states that are fixing to close — what are they going to do?” she said. “This is all they know, and this is all they’ve been doing,” said Brewer to the Tribune.

New Mexico has long been the abortion capital of the Southwest and the late-term abortion capital of the country. But in 2021 when radical pro-abortion Democrat politicians did away with all protections for women, babies, and medical professionals, it left open the floodgates for unregulated abortion up to and after birth in the state.

Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who is up for reelection in November, signed the controversial bill after spending big bucks to knock off moderate pro-life Democrats from the state Senate chamber so she could ram through the unlimited abortion bill.

Just last week, Lujan Grisham signed an executive order shielding fugitive abortionists from extradition to other states where they have illegally performed abortions. More of this pro-abortion radicalism is expected in the upcoming 2023 Legislative Session, where Democrats are likely to propose more anti-life bills.
