According to a Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing, the main character from AMX/FX’s hit show Breaking Bad, filmed and set in New Mexico, is running for Congress as a Republican in the state’s Second Congressional District.
A June 16, 2023 filing shows “Walter Hartwell White/ Jesse Bruce Pinkman” had registered a committee for the former to run for the Second District. White’s character, an Albuquerque-based former chemistry teacher from the show, became a meth cook who sold the drug to the cartel to pay for his cancer treatment and ended up becoming a legend in his own right known as “Heisenberg.” Pinkman was White’s partner in crime who worked as his drug dealer in the show.
The filing listed “3828 Piermont Dr” in Albuquerque as the candidate’s address — the filming location of White’s fictitious house on “308 Negro Arroyo Lane” from the television show. The address is not within the Second District, although candidates need not live in the district to run, unlike state legislative candidates who must live in the district they aim to represent.
The committee name, “Gus Associates,” pays homage to the show’s cartel boss Gustavo “Gus” Fring, listing the committee’s filing address as that of the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park in Las Cruces.
Following the fake campaign filing, the FEC wrote in a June 25, 2023 letter to the entity, “It has come to the attention of the Federal Election Commission that you may have failed to include the true, correct, or candidate information under 52 U.S.C. § 30102(e) when you filed FEC Form 2.”
It added, “Furthermore, the Commission requires the filing to be true, correct, and complete. When you filed FEC Form 2, you made the following certification: ‘I certify that I have examined this Statement and to the best of my knowledge and belief it is true, correct and complete.’ The Commission also informed you on that form that: ‘Submission of false, erroneous, or incomplete information may subject the person signing this Statement to the penalties of 52 U.S.C. § 30109.’”
“It is not known who filed the FEC candidate paperwork for the fictional characters. The FEC said it would crack down on fake candidate filings in 2016 after several fake presidential candidates were listed for the vacant office,” wrote KOAT 7.
Former Congresswoman Yvette Herrell is the sole legitimate Republican candidate in the Second District, while Democrat Rep. Gabe Vasquez is attempting to run for another term after narrowly beating Herrell in 2022.
According to Rep. Gabe Vasquez’s (NM-CD-2) recently filed Federal Election Commission (FEC) report, the first-term vulnerable Democrat is massively trailing other vulnerable Democrats in fundraising numbers and cash-on-hand balances.
According to Roll Call, “Of the 31 Democrats in seats that will be in play next year according to Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales, the average incumbent raised $420,000 during the quarter and had $400,000 on hand on March 31.”
But Vasquez only raised $365,385.45 for the fundraising quarter, leaving him with a mere $303,273.52 cash on hand. Less than half of that was from New Mexico donors.
Last month, Vasquez was cited as one of the most vulnerable House Democrats with little money in the bank.
“Among those who are most vulnerable is Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D-NM), who won his seat by only 0.6 percentage points in 2022 and whose race has been deemed a tossup by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. Despite strong fundraising numbers resulting in a total of more than $3.6 million raised, Vasquez is starting off the 2024 campaign cycle with only $22,776 cash on hand,” reported the Washington Examiner.
A majority of Vasquez’s lackluster campaign haul included $5,000 from U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján’s leadership PAC, Turquoise PAC, $5,000 from the Sen. Martin Heinrich-aligned Lobo PAC, $2,000 from the pro-mask, pro-lockdown NEA PAC, $1,000 from the League of Conservation Voters PAC, $1,000 from the anti-free speech End Citizens United PAC, and $1,000 from leftist Congressman Joe Neguse’s (D-CO) congressional campaign, among others.
The news also comes just one week following former Second Congressional District Congresswoman Yvette Herrell’s announcement in Las Cruces alongside U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) that she is running to reclaim the District.
“It’s embarrassing Gabe Vasquez is coming up short on fundraising. Clearly, New Mexicans have taken notice of the way Vasquez has fallen in line with the extremist wing of the Democrat party during his first four months in Congress, and Republicans look forward to taking back this seat in 2024,” wrote National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokeswoman Delanie Bomar.
On Monday, former Congresswoman Yvette Herrell, who served New Mexico’s Second Congressional District from 2021 to 2023, announced her candidacy for another term in the U.S. House flanked by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California).
Herrell’s announcement took place at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, where hundreds of supporters packed into the well-attended event.
During the visit, Speaker McCarthy said, “Gabe is pretty much a socialist,” saying he’s “not in the bounds” of the district, referencing the incumbent Democrat Rep. Gabe Vasquez. Vasquez took the seat from Herrell in 2022 by a little over 1,000 votes.
“We’re going to make tomorrow better than today. If we elect Yvette, I don’t think Joe Biden’s gonna get re-elected too,” he said, concluding, “We have a reason to stand up right now.”
Herrell said, “Let’s make America great, and let’s make New Mexico great for the first time,” adding, “I will never give up.”
“Democrats are counting on us – on YOU – to falter. They want to divide us. They want us to stay home and give up. It’s the only way they can ram through their unpopular, America LAST agenda,” McCarthy wrote in an email promoting Herrell’s candidacy.
Vasquez has recently taken bad votes that go against the values of the Second Congressional District, including voting against a bill that most House members and even Joe Biden signed to block the District of Columbia’s updated criminal code from becoming law, a code that would favor criminals. He also voted against lower energy costs for New Mexicans.
In a desperate-sounding email following Herrell’s announcement, Vasquez’s campaign wrote, “This is a top-target of the NRCC as well as a DCCC Frontline seat. Gabe needs all the grassroots support he can get to go up against extremist Herrell and her far-right backers like McCarthy and Trump,” although the 45th President has yet to endorse the former congresswoman in her 2024 run.
On Friday, Congresswoman Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second District released a statement for the citizens of the District. She narrowly lost reelection to Democrat Gabe Vasquez in the November 8 election after Democrats gerrymandered the congressional map to remove the only Republican-leaning district. Despite that, Herrell came within approximately 1,000 votes of Vasquez.
Herrell wrote in the note to constituents, “Thank you for the opportunity to represent you in the US House of Representatives these last two action-packed years.”
“I have endeavored to defend your values, stand up for veterans and first responders, secure our borders, and be a voice for the ranchers, farmers, energy producers, and small businesses who keep our communities running. During my time in Congress, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with countless great patriots in New Mexico, people who are willing to fight for freedom and prosperity.”

Herrell has already filed paperwork for a rematch in 2024, and she has also hinted at a big announcement early next year, which could be her formally jumping in the ring for a bid to return to Congress.
While speaking on Real America’s Voice’s “Just the News – Not Noise” with John Solomon and Amanda Head, GOP Congresswoman Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District gave another hint that she is running for the seat in 2024.
Herrell, who currently holds the position, was narrowly defeated by Democrat Gabe Vasquez, a far-leftist, in the November 8 election after Democrats gerrymandered the district to benefit Democrats. The current congressional maps are in litigation and could be overturned if they are ruled to be drawn for partisan political gain.
“Congressman, you are beloved by the people of New Mexico. You have consistently been a very sage voice in Congress, and I know that the people of New Mexico, in particular, would like to know what’s on the horizon for you,” Head said to Herrell.
Herrell responded, “You know what, I have been asked by so many people to stay in the fight, and I will because it is just too important for our country, our state, and just to know that we have an opportunity to change the course of America by getting ourselves back on track. Putting American sovereignty [and] American security first. So, all options are certainly on the table, but I will definitely be staying in the fight, and next year, we will definitely be making some announcements for sure.”
The latest development comes after Herrell filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for a 2024 matchup against Vasquez.
She previously wrote in a November 17 email, “We know our work in Washington was not completed, and hundreds of people from all over the District and colleagues in Washington have asked me to stay in the fight…all options will be on the table – so stay tuned.”
On Monday, far-left Gabe Vasquez, the Democrat nominee for Congress in the Second Congressional District, sent out a press release bragging about the Democrats’ partisan gerrymandered maps making it easier for a leftist to reclaim the Second District from Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell.
Vasquez, in a press release, wrote regarding a new Democrat-funded poll that shows him leading by one point, “The poll was conducted by Global Strategy Group and shared exclusively to National Journal Hotline, which noted that, after redistricting, … Republican Herrell is one of the most vulnerable Republican members in the country.”
“Redistricting moved the 2nd Congressional district from a Trump +12 to Biden +6 district and that is reflected in these results,” it concludes.
The Democrats rammed through maps drawn by the left-wing dark money group “Center for Civic Policy” (CCP), which gerrymandered New Mexico’s congressional districts to favor Democrats and steal the voice of conservatives, especially those living in the Second District.
The gerrymandered CCP map segregates the South Valley of Albuquerque into the Second District and lumps a large chunk of Albuquerque into a strange district that sprawls all the way to Roswell. The strange shape of the districts also lumps Hobbs with communities like Española and Santa Fe, which have astronomically different cultures and needs. The snake-like figures in the Democrats’ gerrymander denote signs of extreme partisan redistricting for political gain.
But despite that, Vasquez is bragging about the partisan ploy to steal back the Second District by hook or by crook. The map is currently in litigation.
Vasquez believes the United States is a racist country, believes in abortion up-to-birth, and supports sweeping socialist policies, such as the destructive Green New Deal.
On Saturday, New Mexico House Democrats rammed through an updated U.S. House map proposal, on a vote of 44-24.
The new map skews all three districts to favor Democrats, albeit only slightly in the Third and Second Districts. District 3 represented by Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez is weakened from a D+14 to a D+5, District 2 represented by Republican Rep. Yvette Herrell is flipped from an R+14 to a D+4, and District 1 represented by Democrat Rep. Melanie Stansbury is weakened from a D+18 to a D+11.
Democrats achieved this partisan advantage by extreme gerrymandering, including chopping up communities of interest to meet its partisan agenda. The Third District snakes all the way from the northwest corner of the state down to the southeast corner of the state, including northern Hobbs, Roswell, and Lovington with places like Española and Santa Fe.
The Second District includes Albuquerque’s South Valley and many of its Republican-leaning areas have been segregated out of the district. The First District snakes down to Roswell while eating up Lincoln and Torrance Counties.
Although the Democrats may, however, have shot themselves in the foot with the passage of this partisan map, especially with 2022 expected to be a Republican blowout year and their now more vulnerable incumbent Democrats having to fend off Republican opponents who very well could flip the Third District and hold onto the Second District.
“It looks to me like the Senate plan purposefully makes the current competitive districts uncompetitive,” said Rep. Greg Nibert, R-Roswell, during a roughly three-hour floor debate on the bill Saturday. “That is not by happenstance; that is by design, and it is politically motivated.”
On Wednesday, Gabe Vasquez, a far-left city councilor in Las Cruces, announced he is running for Congress in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District to challenge incumbent Republican Congresswoman Yvette Herrell.
Vasquez is a known socialist who is diametrically opposed to most values held by the district — values that ex-Rep. Xochitl Torres Small — tried to use to sway moderates. He is a far-left rabid partisan with some of the most extreme far-left views available.
Vasquez believes President Donald Trump’s southern border wall is an “insult” and he believes in the naturalization of criminal aliens into New Mexico.

Vasquez claimed that because President Trump was not convicted during the Democrats’ second impeachment inquisition in February, that the country is “deeply rooted” in “white supremacy.” With words like this, it is hard to see how any voters of President Trump would ever consider a vote for Vasquez, as some may have voted for Torres Small.
The failure to convict Donald Trump shows us how deeply rooted white supremacy remains in this country, and the hold it continues to have on the highest institutions of our government.
Vasquez even went so far as to claim Trump, his supporters, and his “enablers” were terrorists toward immigrants.

In June, during the George Floyd protests, Vasquez once again claimed the United States is systemically racist and the “systems” (referring to police) are “built on oppression. He wrote, “Black lives matter. Until we deconstruct and rebuild the systems of oppression that keep black people in perpetual harm, justice will not be served. That includes law enforcement, the economy, and the disgusting wealth inequality that keeps white rich men in power.”

Vasquez’s extreme rhetoric appears not only out of step with the norms of the District but of New Mexico. Herrell’s leadership on multiple issues — despite being in the minority — shows her willingness to compromise, such as sending letters to Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Vasquez on the other hand appears to be a rabid partisan with not much to offer other than constant hatred for President Trump and Congresswoman Herrell.

On Tuesday, Congresswoman-elect Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District revealed her brand new official photograph as a new member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
In a Tweet, the Congresswoman-elect wrote shared with her followers the photograph, featuring her wearing a black and white houndstooth jacket and a pin with the New Mexico and American flags.

Herrell beat one-term incumbent Democrat Rep. Xochitl Torres Small by a sizeable margin in November, running on a pro-Trump, pro-gun, and pro-business ticket.
For this entire election cycle, left-wingers have been hard at work denying the existence of voter fraud, although the indisputable facts point to the stark antithesis of that sentiment. Especially in New Mexico, fraud is not just common — it’s engrained into an electoral system so battered with corruption and graft that elections have been stolen for generations.
Everything from changing municipal elections to “ranked-choice voting” formats to “democracy dollars,” ballot harvesting, “finding” mysterious ballots, and everything in-between, there are massive gaping holes in our elections process. No matter how many times left-wing puppets demand that fraud is a non-existent conspiracy theory propagated by the left-wing, facts prove otherwise.
Anomalies that could never have occurred by chance popped up in 2018’s 2nd Congressional District race, where an actual audit was done finding that there were very clear signs of fraud.
The morning after the election, ballots were found that pushed Democrat Xochitl Torres Small into a tight win in counties where Small lost handily, such as in heavily-Republican Eddy County, only receiving 30% of the vote. But Torres Small’s absentee number was a much higher figure, 54.7%–close to double.
According to the report conducted after the election, “These anomalies are not simply organic. Reviewing the historical returns in the CD2 district, over the last five election cycles, the same degrees of variation between absentee votes and EV/ED votes do not exist in CD2 in any cycle to the degree found in the 2018 race.”
Other major anomalies occurred, but the most malevolent of them is the 25% of absentee voters who requested ballots in Doña Ana County and never returned them — a number that rarely reaches 5%. According to the report:
“it is probably the strongest purely statistical red flag present in this whole election — of the possibility that someone was submitting absentee ballot applications for Democrats. There is also a significantly high number of duplicate applications — where one voter supposedly submitted more than one absentee ballot application or submitted an absentee application after the absentee ballot had been received, or the voter had voted in person. In many of these cases the signature on the duplicate applications do not match each other.”
Just this year, Lyon Seeds and Dyon Herrera were convicted of felony voter fraud in a municipal race, using absentee ballots to fraudulently forge names to help Seeds’ husband, Robert, win an election in Rio Arriba County.
Before the 2020 election, a former election fraudster came forth to theNew York Postto reveal how he had helped countless Democrat campaigns fraud their way to victory, sharing his methods, which included paying off homeless people to vote for certain candidates, harvest mail-in ballots from senior citizens, steal ballots, and other such tactics.
Jut this past election, a U.S. Postal Service worker in Buffalo, New York was charged with delaying or destroying mail as he tried to cross into Canada with hundreds of absentee ballots for the upcoming election.
Vote counting machines in Michigan “glitched,” resulting in 6,000 votes being given to Democrats, where the voters cast their ballots for Republicans. Forty-seven counties in Michigan used this software, according to reports.
In New Mexico, a tight district attorney’s race in Sandoval County is yet to be called after an extreme delay in counting provisional ballots, which could mean the election, where Republican, Joshua Joe Jimenez, leads by 91 votes.
But those on the Left, such as Andrea Serrano, executive director of “Organizers in the Land of Enchantment,” or “OLÉ,” a George Soros-funded group that has lobbied hard against democratic elections, with their support of publicly funded elections with what they call “Democracy Dollars,” claims voter fraud is a “false narrative,” “not a real thing,” and “misinformation.” The evidence proves voter fraud is real.
OLÉ, which claims to be a social justice organization, does not regard the statistics, which even liberal NBC News reports, that absentee ballots and all-mail-in voting is a racist process that discriminates against ethnic minorities.
According to research from Daniel A. Smith of the University of Flordia:
Hispanic and Black voters were more than twice as likely to have their ballot rejected as white voters in Florida’s 2018 general election. In May, he co-published a review of Georgia’s 2018 midterm election datathat found a similar pattern of rejection for voters of color.
When it comes to mail voting, names and addresses can suggest race and create opportunities for implicit bias or added scrutiny. In Georgia, Democratic officials said that election officials can access a voter’s race when they’re checking for a signature match. The state party successfully sued to require multiple poll workers to sign off on a signature mismatch, which they hope will reduce bias.
“Smith’s research — which is ongoing — has found that people of color, younger voters and those who have never voted by mail are significantly more likely to have their ballots rejected, and that the inconsistent rejection rates within states suggest institutional issues are to blame, not voter error,” says Smith’s research.
In 2017, Democrat Judge (now Justice) David K. Thomson implemented undemocratic “ranked-choice voting” in Santa Fe municipal elections, which was a proposal championed by Teresa Leger Fernandez, a left-wing lawyer who is now the Democrat Congresswoman-elect in the Third District. The “ranked-choice” process resulted in far-left Democrat Mayor Alan Webber’s subsequent election.
As reported this election cycle by the Piñon Post, one of the Democrat Party of New Mexico’s caucus chairs, Pamelya Herndon, said on a private fundraising call for U.S. Senate candidate Ben Ray Luján and congressional candidate Rep. Xochitl Torres Small, that the Democrat Party is actively organizing members to visit elderly family members and drop off their ballots at polling locations. She said that the law allows people to deliver “at least one absentee ballot to a polling location” from a person who is not themselves.
She said, “Go by and talk to your senior citizens. See if those ballots have been put in the mail, and if not, pick it up and take it to a polling location… you can take at least one absentee ballot for a member of your family to a polling location. We want every ballot counted, Congressman [Ben Ray Luján] because we want to see that you and Xochitl Torres Small and everybody on that ballot for the Democratic Party gets elected.”
A recent report shows that currently, New Mexico has 1,681 dead people on its voter rolls, 1,519 individuals registered to vote are 100 years of age or older (implausible), and 3,168 voters have been flagged for duplicate concerns. However, New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver refuses to clean out the voter rolls.
Fraud is rampant in New Mexico. If OLÉ’s Andrea Serrano and other left-wingers can’t see it, they’re blind to reality.
