MLG touts NM’s Green New Deal in DNC speech, bashes Trump as ‘existential crisis’

On Wednesday night, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham briefly addressed the Democrat National Convention. She surprisingly spoke about her massive “climate change” proposals, alluding to her work to pass New Mexico’s “mini” Green New Deal, also known as the “Energy Transition Act.” She stood in front of an Albuquerque-area solar array to give her remarks.

Her speech is below:

“I am proud that New Mexico has shown what climate leadership looks like.  While the Trump Administration has been eliminating environmental protections, we expanded them. While they’ve been rolling back regulations on oil and gas, we’ve taken on polluters and held them accountable. We’ve committed to a renewable energy future with exciting and fulfilling careers for workers all across our beautiful state, including right here in the heart of Northern New Mexico. We’re laying a roadmap here for what America can and would look like in the 21st century — an America where we lead again, where we build safer, cleaner, and more affordable cities and communities, where we provide meaningful opportunities for workers and families to thrive and build better lives. 

As president, Joe Biden will rejoin the international climate agreement, and the United States will once again lead on this critical issue. At home, he’ll invest in energy workers, and he will deliver for working families across the U.S., helping them build meaningful careers while accelerating our nation and world into a clean, green 21st Century and beyond. 

“We know time is running out to save our planet. We have the chance this November to end two existential crises: the Trump presidency and the environmental annihilation he represents. We have the chance this November to attack the climate crisis, invest in green, 21st Century jobs, and embrace the clean energy revolution our country, our young people are crying out for, and the leadership the rest of the world is waiting for. The choice is clear. The choice is Joe Biden.” 

Lujan Grisham was also featured in a pro-abortion montage shortly afterward, as well as Rep, Deb Haaland 

Rep. Ben Ray Luján, who has claimed Lujan Grisham is not his cousin, tweeted her remarks, writing, “[Michelle Lujan Grisham] has led New Mexico with conviction and set a national example for strong leadership in the face of #COVID19. If you didn’t catch her live at the #DemConvention, check out the recap to watch her make New Mexico proud.”

Afer the speech, Larry Behrens of Power the Future sent out the following statement:

“Governor Lujan Grisham’s feeble defense of the green agenda tonight is made even more insincere as millions of Americans are dealing with blackouts after renewable promises failed our working families.

The Biden/Harris energy plan calls for a ban on fracking which will destroy over 100,000 jobs in New Mexico and cost our state billions. Governor Lujan Grisham knows their plan will upend New Mexico’s economy, but clearly her primetime audition takes priority over our families.”

It was previously speculated that if Biden is elected, Lujan Grisham would be considered for Health and Human Services secretary, however, her anti-Trump climate speech on the national stage makes it clear she is more interested in a role at possibly the Environmental Protection Agency or possibly the Department of Energy.

MLG refuses to reopen NM despite state meeting benchmarks

On Tuesday, it was reported that New Mexico had finally hit Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s gating criteria to reopen New Mexico. The criteria require there to be an average of 168 new COVID-19 cases in a seven-day period, which the state has met, hitting 155. 

However, despite KOAT 7 crunching the numbers, the State told them “they are using a different number that is based on the date the actual test was taken, and they could not provide the number.”

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s office responded, “We have reached this stage only because of the incredible hard work New Mexicans have undertaken in adhering to the state’s public health guidelines and making the right individual and collective decisions. The gating criteria are not a ‘finish line,’ so to speak, implying that once we reach the gating criteria, we are in the clear.” 

The move by the Governor to dismiss New Mexico hitting the benchmark, while the state refusing to say what numbers they are measuring, shows a lack of transparency and obstruction of critical information New Mexicans deserve to know regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

If the Governor, as she has so often claims, is relying on data and science, then there should be no problem letting the public know what those metrics that she’s measuring are.

Lujan Grisham is set to address the Democrat National Convention tonight, and she is expected to address, at least in part, her “leadership” during the coronavirus pandemic, which has left countless businesses closed and working families devastated.

WATCH: Devastated NM small business owners speak out about Governor’s lockdown

On Saturday, 80 days before the November 3 election, the Republican Party of New Mexico released a video featuring anonymous devastated small business owners and other New Mexicans affected by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s strict lockdown of the state, and the stories revealed the true pain and hurt caused by the Governor.

The video opens with one man’s voice saying, “My business has been hurt. We are about to lose our homes and our family… this is a joke.” 

Another comments, “The leadership of New Mexico has nearly closed my business.” 

One woman’s voice says, “The Governor has kept big businesses open, and yet she has denied people like my own mother critical life-saving health care.” “It’s unfair and it’s morally and ethically wrong.” 

“Big box stores have never been forced to shut down. Only small businesses have suffered the consequences,” a small business owner remarked.

“Michelle Lujan Grisham continues to attack us personally, and we will stop at nothing to try to make us go out of business completely,” said another small business owner. 

“Everything is essential. A community doesn’t operate because you hand-pick certain businesses to remain open.” 

One woman, presumably one working in the health care industry said, “We’ve had doctors leave, specialists leave, medical staff be furloughed or laid off or permanently lose their jobs.” 

“Small business is the engine of the economy. They call it ‘the small,’ but actually this is the main business,” another voice remarks, adding, “If this thing stays longer than this, I think the whole economy will collapse.” 

The video, which features voices from all across New Mexico shows an eye-opening look into the pain caused by the Governor’s health orders, and why the November election is so crucial. As the video says, “New Mexico, don’t be afraid to let your voice be heard. The Silent Majority needs to start making some noise,” and “Save New Mexico, Vote Republican.”

Our New Mexico unrecognizable

In 1954, the Johnson Amendment was passed in an effort to bar churches from speaking out against the government and from publicly supporting political policies. It’s a nonprofit filing that ensures the church does not have to pay property tax, yet this amendment single-handedly removes any voice from the church. 

In an age when the NFL has stolen Sundays from most Americans and has recently imposed a fine on players who attend mass with greater than 25% capacity, why have we allowed their voice to be greater than that of the church? Is this true separation of church and state or government control based on tax status? 

Why is this important? Our values and way of life are being mocked and stripped away by our own local officials. We have been under Democratic control for over 90 years and continue to elect people who have never truly had New Mexicans at heart. 

New Mexico is a Democratic stronghold for the late-term abortion industry. There are thousands and thousands of abortion dollars flowing into the campaigns of Reps. Ben Ray Lujan, Xochitl Torres Small, and congressional candidate Teresa Leger Fernandez. Why? Colorado will vote in November on Initiative 120 to ban late-term abortion. While this is great news this would ensure these providers make New Mexico their new home, driving excess abortion traffic into the state. The current makeup of our local government and Democratic stronghold would ensure this massacre would continue in NM.  

The University of New Mexico is currently training the next generation of abortion providers and allowed a sign to hang reading, “HEROES WORK HERE” outside of their late-term abortion facility for weeks. After the tireless efforts by Bud and Tara Shaver of “AbortionFreeNM,” Father Stephen Imbarrato, and many others, the sign was ultimately taken down. 

New Mexico is currently unrecognizable with minimal church attendance, red flag gun laws, late-term abortion, and transgender storytimes for pre-K and kindergarteners, supported by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, the New Mexico Public Education Department, the City of Albuquerque, and New Mexico Highlands University.

If this “pandemic” and last legislative session have taught us anything, it’s that our local officials are far more extreme than the average New Mexican could have ever imagined. We as a people cannot sit back and allow these government sellouts to belittle our church, our values, and our way of life. It is not time to live in fear of a virus that has a 99.97% survival rate waiting for a vaccine that is developed off the cells of aborted fetal tissues. Support the land and values that our grandfathers fought for because at this rate, what will we pass on to our own grandchildren?

Former VP contender MLG throws support for Biden/Harris ticket

On Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden announced his selection of California U.S. Senator Kamala Harris to be his running mate. 

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham sent out a message of support for the team, writing on Twitter, “It’s time to rebuild our country better than ever before. It’s time to take back the White House. It’s time to elect [Joe Biden] & [Kamala Harris]. Join us” 

Harris wrote on Twitter previously, “[Joe Biden] can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he’ll build an America that lives up to our ideals.

I’m honored to join him as our party’s nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.” 

The Trump campaign responded to the news by tweeting a video blasting the decision in a new video. 

Harris previously blasted Biden for his record on race, his alleged sexual assults on women, and his policies not being progressive enough for the California politician. Now, Harris will bring her suppor for Medicare for All, trillions more in taxes, abortion up-to-birth, and countless other proposals to the forefront in the race for the presidency.

MLG follows satanic cult leader on Twitter but does not follow Joe Biden

On Monday it was reported that leading Democrat vice-presidential contender to be Joe Biden’s running mate, California Sen. Kamala Harris, does not follow Biden on Twitter, which prompted the Piñon Post to see if Gov. Michell Lujan Grisham, also a contender for the Democrat vice-presidential nomination follows Biden. Here’s what we found:

After searching both Lujan Grisham’s campaign and public Twitter accounts, @Michelle4NM and @GovMLG, respectively, we concluded both by a thorough review of who she is following on Twitter, as well as a check from the website DoesFollow.com, that Lujan Grisham does not follow Biden nor does Biden follow either of Lujan Grisham’s accounts. 

However, upon our review of Lujan Grisham’s account, it was revealed that the Governor follows a satanic cult leader, Greg Stevens (@GregStevens), who lists himself as the Executive Producer of “Satanic TV” and director of “The Satanic Temple of Ministry.” Stevens uses the pen name “Priest Penemue.” According to the Dallas Observer, Stevens “serves on The Satanic Temple’s national council and oversees chapters in Texas, Oklahoma and Florida.” 

Lujan Grisham previously thanked Stevens on Twitter for a retweet (which has now been deleted).

Stevens often posts eyebrow-raising and concerning content on his page, including sexually deviant memes, retweets of Antifa, Black Lives Matter, as well as other satanic cult members.

In a recent tweet, Stevens wrote, “I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but there is no such thing as ‘giving the religious right an excuse to go against Row v Wade’.

Where have you been for the last half century? They are doing it. They have been doing it. No excuses needed, no floodgates unopened.”

Stevens retweeted an article about his cult’s new “Satanic Religious Abortion Ritual,” which describes the grotesque ritual as follows: 

The Satanic abortion ritual provides spiritual comfort and affirms bodily autonomy, self-worth, and freedom from coercive forces with the affirmation of TST’s Seven Tenets. The ritual is not intended to convince a person to have an abortion. Instead, it sanctifies the abortion process by instilling confidence and protecting bodily rights when undergoing the safe and scientific procedure.

Does Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham know that she is following such an individual, who relishes in the thought of a “Satanic abortion ritual”? This inquiry into the Governor’s followers raises more questions than answers.

SF jewelry shop posts pic of MLG with ‘new’ bling — quickly deletes, claiming photo was from 2019

On Wednesday, Tom Taylor Belts, Buckles, Bags shared a photo on Facebook of a maskless Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham at their Santa Fe Plaza store showing off her expensive Zia pendant.

The caption of the photo read, “New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in our Santa Fe store showing off her new B G Mudd Zia pendant.”

According to the retailer’s website, the pendant costs $425. Other items from the downtown boutique range from the hundreds and well into the thousands for artisanal pieces.

Multiple commenters on the post pointed out that the Governor was not wearing a mask, which goes in stark opposition to her massive “Mask Up” and “Protect New Mexico” campaigns urging citizens to wear masks in public.

Lujan Grisham may or may not have been social distancing (6 feet apart) while having her photo taken in the jewelry shop. It is unclear what the jewelry shop’s capacity is, however, Lujan Grisham’s orders allow only for 25% maximum occupancy in any retail setting.

This is not the first time Lujan Grisham has defied her own public health orders, previously buying expensive jewelry from Lilly Barrack in Albuquerque, having the store (which was at the time closed as a non-essential business), reopen just for her so she could make a purchase. 

National figures previously blasted her for the hypocrisy, including leading network television host Laura Ingraham, who described Lujan Grisham as a “fraud,” and ridiculed her “rules for thee but not for me.”

Thousands of New Mexico businesses, including restaurants and hotels, are hurting due to the Governor’s strict regulations, which include a mandatory 14-day quarantine for out-of-state visitors and no indoor dining allowed at restaurants. The restrictions have prompted the cancellation of hundreds of out-of-state reservations at hotels, and over 210 New Mexico restaurants to go into permanent closure. This week, the Governor won a lawsuit in front of the New Mexico Supreme Court allowing her to fine businesses $5,000 for bucking her orders, with one hotel, Trinity Hotel and Restaurant, racking up fines upwards of $100,000.

Lujan Grisham buying expensive jewelry while small businesses and working families suffer may not be the wisest choice.

UPDATE: The jewelry shop updated the post, claiming the photograph was taken in March of 2019, however, they did not explain why the caption said the Governor’s pendant was “new.” Later, the jewelry shop deleted the post altogether.

Similar jewelry to what was allegedly sold to the Governor can be seen in the below August 13 post from the Governor’s Twitter account. However, it cannot be immediately confirmed if this is the same jewelry allegedly sold to the Governor in March of 2019. If the jewelry was indeed purchased in March, it raises multiple questions including why was the photo just posted now, and why did the Facebook post indicate the jewelry was “new” if it was bought well over a year ago.

MLG to headline virtual PA roundtable on Biden’s Latino agenda

Once again, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will be campaigning hard for Joe Biden as she vies for either the vice presidency or a cabinet position in his administration if he were to win in November. This time, Lujan Grisham will be plugging Joe Biden’s Latino agenda at a virtual roundtable in Pennsylvania (nearly 2,000 miles away from New Mexico), which will also be attended by Pennsylvania “leaders and advocates.”

“Biden’s comprehensive plan outlines the steps he would take as president to level the playing field for Latino families and ensure Latino communities in Pennsylvania are able to thrive,” says the link on the event page. Biden released his Latino agenda on Tuesday.

President Donald Trump’s campaign chided the hollow proposal, writing in a release, ““Joe Biden has made false promises to America’s Latinos for decades. His pro-China, anti-worker, globalist policies shipped our jobs overseas,” said Ali Pardo, Deputy Director of Communications for Trump’s campaign. “His support for illegal immigration depressed American workers’ wages, making it harder for everyone, including legal immigrants, to achieve the American Dream.” 

“Many Latinos support President Trump because they understand that his policies actually help families like theirs,” Pardo continued. “The President doesn’t make empty promises – he supercharged America’s economy once, and he will do it again.”

On Thursday, a video was released of Biden praising the Latino community while bashing the Black community as not having a diversity of thought. 

According to a Pennsylvania poll, “49% of Latino voters in Pennsylvania said that selecting Lujan Grisham as the running mate would make them ‘much more likely’ or ‘somewhat more likely’ to vote for Biden against President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, while 17% said that choosing the New Mexico governor would make them ‘much less likely’ or ‘somewhat less likely’ to vote for Biden, and 34% saying that it would have no impact on their vote for Biden.”

Out of the thirteen women in the running, Lujan Grisham is the only Latina in contention for Joe Biden’s vice presidential running mate. The virtual event will take place on Friday at 4:00 P.M. EDT or 2:00 MDT.

Lujan does not appear to have any overt ties to the state of Pennsylvania other than her Public Education Department cabinet secretary being from Philadelphia, and currently working in the state of Pennsylvania virtually during COVID-19.

MLG promised New Mexico would be ‘open for business’ in 2018 campaign ad — she lied

During the 2018 campaign for governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham made a lot of promises to the people of New Mexico, and some of those promises are coming back to bite her regarding her response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an August 2018 campaign ad, Lujan Grisham vowed to “promote small businesses and entrepreneurs,” and said “When I’m governor, we’ll be open for business.” 

Lujan Grisham repeated this line in her campaign policy proposals, writing, “we will let industry leaders know that New Mexico is open for business.”

But with the state shut down, 14-day mandatory quarantine for anyone traveling out-of-state, and hundreds of small businesses closing for good, New Mexico does not look anything like the utopia Lujan Grisham promised. New Mexico not only is not “open for business,” it is bleeding for cash, as seen during the 2020 special session, where the Governor’s unsustainable budget was cut due to her irresponsible lack of fiscal responsibility. New Mexico’s largest tourism event, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, is also cancelled, as well as countless revenue-generating events and opportunities.

Lujan Grisham also fined small businesses, which she supposedly supports according to her campaign ad, with up to $60,000 fines for non-compliance with her strict health orders, in stark opposition to her previous claims of support for such businesses.

Now, New Mexico, the most dependent state on federal dollars, could be being intentionally closed — not because of COVID-19, but because of the huge federal aide being offered for each COVID-19 patient. According to a study from Kaiser Health News, New Mexico is receiving $171,000 per coronavirus patient, which may be a reason Lujan Grisham is locking down the state — a stark violation of her campaign promise. NM Supreme Court once again sides with MLG, allows her to fine businesses $5k

On Tuesday, the far-left New Mexico Supreme Court once again sided against the will of small businesses and restaurants and in favor of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s harsh sanctions on businesses violating her public health orders. The Court ruled that the Governor is allowed to issue costly $5,000 fines to businesses  

The businesses suing, which included some restaurants argued that the $5,000 fines don’t apply to them and that “Public Health Response Act allows for those pricey civil penalties to be issued against hospitals and other healthcare facilities but not for them.” They also argued that the State of New Mexico should owe them compensation for the time they are shut down.

Lujan Grisham has so far fined 16 businesses with $5,000 sanctions. 

Gov. Lujan Grisham’s attorney from her office, Matthew Garcia, argued that “The only tool we have currently to stem transmission of COVID-19 is social distancing, and so we need compliance, we need immediate compliance we can’t say ‘well hopefully you’ll comply eight months down the road’ we need compliance now.” 

The Supreme Court sided with Lujan Grisham on the case, arguing that the New Mexico Legislature meant for $5,000 fines to apply to all businesses and that the State is not liable for compensating businesses while the State has shut them down.

Lujan Grisham responded on Twitter to the Court’s decision, writing, “The state shouldn’t have to fine anybody. Doing the right thing in a crisis shouldn’t be something we have to argue about. But anyone endangering the lives of New Mexicans will face the consequences. My thanks to everyone doing their part every day.”
