MLG’s Green New Deal resulting in likely brownouts by next summer

As warned by many pro-energy groups, including the most vocal Power the Future, which as foretold of brownouts due to Gov. Lujan Grisham’s Green New Deal, that stark reality is likely coming true, according to the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM).

In August of 2020, a little over one year after New Mexico passed its “Energy Transition Act,” also known as the “Green New Deal,” Larry Behrens, western states director for Power the Future warned, “New Mexico’s families must continue to face the real consequences of pushing an agenda that doesn’t provide power when we need it most.”

Behrens reacted to the news, writing, “Warnings of brownouts are just the latest in a list of failures brought on by this forced transition. Electric rates are also on the rise and New Mexicans are set to lose their jobs simply because this law was rushed through so quickly that supporters didn’t want to acknowledge the predictable consequences. New Mexico’s leaders need to listen to the warnings, put aside their special interests and plan to deliver reliable electricity before it’s too late.”

In northeast New Mexico, the Energy Transition Act has forced the closure of the San Juan Generating Station by PNM, leaving countless New Mexicans without jobs and only around 80 employees able to retire. “For the rest of the employees, though, they’re going to have to go find some other form of employment,” said plant manager Omni Warner.

Even far-left enviro-Marxist groups have begged the Legislature to make changes to the Energy Transition Act before it completely wrecks the state.

But the pleas from the left and the right have fallen on deaf ears, and now the corrosive piece of legislation may force PNM to rely on a “brownout” next summer due to the “energy lost with the anticipated closure of the coal-fueled” San Juan Generating Station, reports the Santa Fe New Mexican.

Brownouts entail a drop in voltage in the electrical power supply system, which could mean dimmer lights and lower power levels for New Mexicans. According to PNM spokesman Ray Sandoval says that PNM “generally has a 2,000-megawatt system with about 500 megawatts provided by the San Juan Generating Station.”

With the closure of the San Juan Generating Station, it has purged countless jobs, with only around 80 employees able to retire. “For the rest of the employees, though, they’re going to have to go find some other form of employment,” said plant manager Omni Warner.

Now, as well as a loss of jobs, the closure of the San Juan Generating Station means a loss of 500 megawatts of energy to New Mexico. When asked what options PNM has, executive Tom Fallgren said, “We are looking at any and all options. … And we continue to beat the bushes, so to say, for other opportunities as well.”

As for the other effects of New Mexico’s Green New Deal, other than brownouts and lost jobs, electric utilities, including XCEL Energy, are asking to raise rates on their customers because of the Energy Transition Act, passing off large costs back to the consumers.

Left-wing environmentalists will claim that the massive uptick in unemployment rates is all related to the pandemic and not Lujan Grisham’s Green New Deal. However, New Mexico’s neighboring state of Texas has gained energy jobs every single month since last September, unlike New Mexico.

New Mexico is bleeding cash by the day as the Governor’s assault on the energy industry worsens. New Mexicans are being laid off with no fallback other than the state’s flailing unemployment system run by Lujan Grisham’s cabinet appointees.

Now, New Mexicans will be seeing brownouts in their future, and this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding New Mexico’s energy future.

Alleged groper MLG amid Dem leader probe: Gov’t must be held to highest ‘standard of behavior’

On Wednesday, following news that Democrat majority leader Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton (D-Bernalillo) had been served search warrants by the Attorney General’s Office, scandal-ridden Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued the following statement:

“I am deeply, deeply troubled by the reports this morning about a law enforcement investigation into Rep. Stapleton. People are innocent until proven otherwise, and I know investigators will follow the facts wherever they lead. I await more information like all New Mexicans. But I will say that public confidence in government is seriously damaged by even the appearance of impropriety, or illegal activity, which is why public officials must always hold themselves to the highest possible standard of behavior. New Mexicans expect and deserve elected officials who, regardless of party, will put the people before themselves. Anything less violates a sacred public trust and must be dealt with accordingly.”

The sentiments from the Governor ring hollow for many New Mexicans, as she previously spent millions in taxpayer dollars without the Legislature’s approval, had hundreds of millions of dollars go missing from the Department of Workforce Solutions, had paid off $62,500 to an ex-staffer who alleged she poured water on his genitals and grabbed his penis, and paid off her daughter $6,000+ for cosmetics with campaign funds.

Now, her sudden urge to have public servants “always hold themselves to the highest possible standard of behavior” comes off as massive hypocrisy.

The Albuquerque Public Schools superintendent Scott Elder notified Attorney General Hector Balderas of Leader Stapleton’s relationship with a company, Robotics Management Learning Systems LLC, that has done more than $5 million in business with APS over the last 13 years.

MLG wants citizens, even the fully vaccinated, to wear masks indoors in fear of ‘Delta variant’

On Tuesday, scandal-ridden Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who was accused and later settled for sexual assault, announced that she had brought back her request for New Mexicans to wear masks indoors, even if they are fully inoculated.

Her announcement came after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) once again made a backflip in its guidelines, which previously said fully jabbed individuals could go without a mask indoors. Now, due to the “Delta variant” of the virus, it is recommending that “everyone in areas of substantial/high transmission should wear a mask, even if vaccinated.”

Lujan Grisham, who has been fear-mongering over the Delta variant for some time now, previously said, “It’s a deadly virus, it’s not going to go away. This variant is serious.”

Either she had some insider information on the CDC’s next move, or her wish came true because now she is reinstituting her pleas for citizens to follow the draconian mask guidelines.

On Twitter, she wrote, “Per the latest @CDCgov guidance, we recommend that all New Mexicans wear a mask indoors out of an abundance of caution as we work to suppress the Delta variant. Unvaccinated New Mexicans are urged to schedule their vaccination appointments immediately at http://VaccineNM.org.”

Joe Biden said, “The more we learn about this virus and the delta variation, the more we have to be worried and concerned. And there’s only one thing we know for sure — if those other 100 million people got vaccinated, we’d be in a very different world.”

Lujan Grisham has been pushing for New Mexicans to get the inoculation, even using $10+ million in taxpayers’ money to bribe New Mexicans via a lottery. She used the percentage of jabbed individuals as a benchmark to “reopen” the state, and coincidentally, all 33 counties turned “turquoise” (the best benchmark) right before her re-election launch.

As the school year comes around the corner, Lujan Grisham has instituted new guidelines forcing masks on kindergarteners, segregating children based on vaccination status, forcing students to carry around proof of vaccination status, and mandating unreasonable testing requirements on teachers and staff.

MLG’s new NMPED guidelines invoke punitive measures against the unvaccinated

On Monday, the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) unveiled new guidelines for schools, which are set to start again in the next few weeks. According to the NMPED, masking will still be required in most schools.

“Teachers and staff in junior and high school settings will not be required to wear masks if they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will be required,” KVIA reports.

KVIA also adds that “Masks will still be required for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, in elementary schools. Masks will also be required for anyone that is not vaccinated or refuses to show proof of vaccination in those secondary school settings,” according to the updated NMPED rules.

Students who refuse to wear masks will be sent home. “While waiting for pickup, such students will be supervised and quarantined from other students,” the report notes.

“Our priority is to keep children in school, and it’s great news that the CDC guidance shows that secondary students and staff who are vaccinated can safely attend school without masks,” said PED Secretary Ryan Stewart.

The teacher’s unions responded to the punitive school mask mandates with glee. American Federation of Teachers New Mexico president Whitney Holland said, “Today’s release of updated New Mexico Public Education Department guidelines for COVID-19 safety protocols correctly keeps a focus on proven strategies for combating the spread of coronavirus in our places of learning.”

“We appreciate Secretary Dr. Ryan Stewart and the NM PED team including educational stakeholders in this process and the development of today’s updated guidelines. These protocols correctly acknowledge this virus is still present in our communities and will continue to be present until all able New Mexicans have access to an approved vaccine. These guidelines are especially important for our youngest learners as they wait for an age-appropriate vaccine to be widely available,” Holland concluded

Despite the unions being happy with the new guidelines, the NMPED is treating unvaccinated individuals with punitive measures, such as, “Unvaccinated students should sit on only one side of a table and maintain the prescribed social distance.”

Also, “[s]chools must maintain a voluntary student surveillance testing program with a new weekly goal of testing 25% of unvaccinated students participating in sports and other extra-curricular activities. The previous goal was 1% of the overall student population and 10% of students participating in sports and other extracurricular activities.”

The testing levels have also increased for teachers, aides, custodians, and other administrators, with a mandatory 25% weekly testing requirement for unvaccinated staff members. Previously, only schools in red counties had to test at such a high level.

New Mexico is one of only seven states (CA, CT, DE, HI, NM, NY, WA) with mask requirements for students. All of New Mexico’s neighboring states are without these stringent reqirements.

New Mexicans will be protesting the Governor’s strict masking mandate Saturday, July 31, 2021, across the state. Find your protest location here.

UPDATED: New Mexicans holding July 31 statewide school mask protest

While a majority of states in the country have no school mask mandate, New Mexico’s schoolchildren are still being forced to wear masks, even when playing outdoor sports in 100+ degree heat, according to the group New Mexico Freedoms Alliance.

“It’s not healthy for children to breathe through masks because the reduced oxygen and increased carbon dioxide is dangerous,” the group contends, adding that Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s “recent change to allow vaccinated athletes to be unmasked is not enough; ALL students must be allowed to unmask, regardless of their vaccination status.”

So, on Saturday, July 31, citizens are organizing protests against school mask policies statewide, from Albuquerque to Carlsbad. So far, seven cities are participating, but the list of areas joining in the effort is expected to grow.

The group has organized anti-forced school masking rallies previously across the state, with much success. But as the school year comes right around the corner, the added pressure on the governor is critical in stopping these mandates from continuing.

MLG’s DOH let veterans home keep ‘four disabled veterans to a room’ during pandemic

In a new “scathing” report from the Legislative Finance Committee (FLC), scandal-ridden Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Department of Health “failed to ensure proper infection control” at the New Mexico State Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that state Sen. Nancy Rodriguez (D-Santa Fe) told them “[t]he facility, she said, houses four disabled veterans to a room.” The facility had 28 people die from COVID-19.

But Lujan Grisham’s cabinet secretary for Human Services (and now the Department of Health) Dr. David Scrase defended the department.

“He told lawmakers that even the most well-funded private nursing homes in New Mexico faced difficulty limiting the spread of COVID-19 during the pandemic. The veterans home, Scrase said, was particularly challenging, given the layout of the building, with four people to a room,” reports the Journal.

“What happened at the veterans home,” he said, “is about the same as what happened throughout the entire state and, in my opinion, based on design issues, could have been much worse.”

But state analysts don’t agree with Scrace’s attempt to downplay responsibility. The 28 deaths at the facility equaled 19% of the facility’s 145-bed capacity, a percentage higher than the state average, according to an LFC analyst.

The 28 deaths at the veterans home – which occurred over several months late last year – equaled 19% of the facility’s 145-bed capacity, according to the LFC report. The percentage was higher than the state average, one analyst told lawmakers. The LFC report says the veterans home’s coronavirus deaths “were exacerbated by inadequate oversight,” with other practices such as staffers not changing personal protective equipment between visiting patients, among other issues.

State Rep. Patricia Lundstrom (D-Gallup) who chairs the LFC, urged the Lujan Grisham administration to use federal stimulus funds to build a new Truth or Consequences facility for these veterans.

“With this high-risk population, we need to do something, and we need to do it sooner than later,” said Lundstrom.

In December, Lujan Grisham announced New Mexico hospitals were on the brink of “rationing care” while last April, Lujan Grisham’s administration evicted scores of nursing home patients, some even in their 90s and one aged 102.

Following the news, Republican Governor’s Association spokesman Will Reinert said, “Instead of working to take care the disabled men and women who fought to keep our country free as COVID-19 ravaged their living quarters, Governor Lujan Grisham dined on taxpayer-funded wagyu beef.” He added, “If Grisham won’t even work to protect New Mexico’s veterans, don’t expect her to fight for families struggling to put food on the table or to clean up Albuquerque’s crime-ridden streets.”

New poll shows Gov. Lujan Grisham is ‘underwater’ with voters

A poll recently conducted between July 6 – 8, 2021 by Cygnal, the national survey research and polling firm, shows scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is “underwater” with voters in New Mexico.

The survey of 600 likely general election voters with a margin of error of ±4.00% shows that Lujan Grisham is more unfavorable than favorable in the state and that voters would most likely choose a Republican over her for reelection.

Regarding favorability, Lujan Grisham has a 46.9% rating, while 50.9% of voters think of her unfavorably. Regarding job approval, Lujan Grisham has only 46.5% approval while 48.5 disapprove. The real blow to Lujan Grisham is when voters were asked if Lujan Grisham “deserves reelection.” Only 43.7% said she deserves to be reelected while 52.4% resoundingly said she does not.

Voters were asked, “If the 2022 election for Governor was held today between Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham and a Republican candidate, who would you vote for?” A majority (47.4) said they would take a Republican over the incumbent Democrat governor, with only 45.3% saying they would vote for her.

“Governor Grisham’s net favorability is floundering at -4, and she sits at -14 with Independents/NPAs.Men do not have a favorable opinion of the governor, and women are split,” Cygnal notes.

The memo from the Cygnal survey notes, “The statewide Cygnal survey, which was conducted July 6 – 8, 2021, shows voters are split on Grisham’s job approval, but that her net favorability is underwater (-4) and a majority of voters think the state is on the wrong track. More than 70% of voters are worried about a spike in crime in their area (71%) and inflation (80%), while more than three-fourths have heard about or experienced issues with filling open employment positions.”

“It’s clear that Governor Grisham is in trouble,” said Brent Buchanan, Cygnal’s CEO and founder. “Voters aren’t happy with the direction of the country or the state, they clearly hold her responsible for the latter, and her recent actions only reinforce the fact that she’s out of touch with New Mexico voters.”

When matching Lujan Grisham up with Joe Biden, voters have a higher opinion of Biden (+0.2) than Lujan Grisham, further showing that the New Mexico governor is in trouble with voters in New Mexico. Cygnal was named the #1 most accurate polling and research firm in the country for 2018by TheNew York Times.

MLG forced NM taxpayers to fork over $1.5 million to advertise during space launch

KOB 4 reported this week that New Mexico taxpayers were forced to fork over $1.5 million of their hard-earned tax dollars to advertise during millionaire Jeffrey Epstein-tied Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic space launch.

According to Cody Johnson, a spokesman for alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s New Mexico Tourism Department, Cody Johnson, the “state paid a lot to have the logo on screen during the flight’s broadcast.”

“That included in total a $1.5 million investment, which includes a $500,000 special appropriation provided by the state legislature for the efforts to market and promote New Mexico during that inaugural flight,” he said.

“The rest came from the tourism department’s budget, a $1.5 million investment that the state expects to pay off,” KOB reported.

The Tourism Department’s “New Mexico True” brand showed on the advertisement, which Johnson alleges had 7.5 million viewers on YouTube alone.

Time will tell if the “investment” by Lujan Grisham’s Tourism Department will pay off, however, the Governor has had not much trouble in terms of her shady finances before, spending millions of dollars in state funds not appropriated by the Legislature during the pandemic, as well as her lavish contingency fund spending, among other things.

New Mexico now has the worst unemployment rate in the nation

According to a new Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Friday, New Mexico is now tied with Connecticut for the highest unemployment rate in the nation at a stagnant 7.9%.

New Mexico follows other Democrat-run states, with Nevada at 7.8%, New York, Hawaii, California at 7.7% unemployment, and New Jersey at 7.3%. These numbers came from the end of June.

New Mexico’s neighbor Colorado has a 6.2% unemployment rate, Texas has 6.5%, Arizona has 6.8%, and Utah has 2.7%.

New Mexico still has many pandemic restrictions, including forced masking of children who have not taken the jab. For school sports and in classrooms, masks are still required.

New Mexico had the third-worst unemployment rate in April, and it has just become progressively worse, falling behind other states across the country.

Now, New Mexico retakes the number one spot for “worst” in the nation under the leadership of scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who locked the state down for a year and a half and repeatedly broke her own pandemic rules.

After GOP district judge leaves for Texas, MLG has opportunity to put left-winger on bench

A local district judge, Matt Chandler, 45, with a legal career prosecuting and on the bench spanning over 20 years, says he’s retiring to Texas for “a new career in the law,” according to The Eastern New Mexico News.

Chandler, “joined the District Attorney’s office in 2002. He was elected DA in 2004, held the job 10 years, then was appointed to the bench in 2015,” the outlet reported. The partisan Democrat-controlled New Mexico Senate previously rejected his nomination to be a regent of the University of New Mexico in 2015.

“Serving the state of New Mexico … has been a dream come true,” Chandler said. “It truly has been an absolute honor and privilege.”

Chandler told the News that has accepted a job in Lubbock for a corporation that provides legal representation for all 50 states. “My primary focus will be New Mexico and West Texas,” he said.

The jurist unsuccessfully ran for attorney general against then-incumbent Gary King in 2010 and was subsequently appointed to the bench in 2015 by former Republican Gov. Susana Martinez.

The News reports that “Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will select Chandler’s successor.”

This will give the Governor an opportunity to appoint a far-left activist judge to a conservative area of the state’s judicial seats.

The process to fill the seat reportedly begins Aug. 25 when a Judicial Nominating Commission is slated to meet at 9 a.m. at the Curry County Courthouse to evaluate applicants. The deadline to apply is August 6.
