Biden releases illegal immigrants into U.S. without tracking as Title 42 expires

In the latest concerning development in the U.S. southern border crisis, the Joe Biden regime is now planning to release apprehended illegal immigrants into the country “without court dates or the ability to track them,” as NBC News reports.

“The Biden administration began releasing migrants without court dates to alleviate overcrowding in March 2021, but had previously enrolled those migrants in a program known as Alternatives to Detention, which required them to check in on a mobile app until they were eventually given a court date. The new policy would release them on ‘parole’ with a notice to report to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office but without enrolling them in the program.”

The move comes after 11,000 illegal immigrants were caught crossing the southern border on Tuesday — a record that surpasses expectations of 10,000 per day previously predicted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“We’re already breaking and we haven’t hit the starting line,” one DHS official anonymously told NBC News

The increase in illegal immigrant crossings is already ravaging ports of entry in New Mexico, California, Arizona, and Texas, as well as gaping holes left in the border barrier left unfinished by the Biden administration.

Title 42, a pandemic-era program that allowed the swift deportation of illegal immigrants, is set to end on Thursday, leaving the country in a crisis as limp Biden regime immigration policies have resulted in historic illegal immigrant crossings and a humanitarian crisis exploding on the border.

Congress is set to vote on Thursday to extend Title 42, but it is unclear at the moment if the proposal will make it across the finish line to Biden’s desk by the 11:59 p.m. deadline when the program is set to expire.

Will Rep. Vasquez vote to avert border catastrophe by extending Title 42?

First-term U.S. Rep. Gabe Vasquez of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District represents one of the two swing districts held by Democrats that include swaths of the southern border. The other vulnerable Democrat is Rep. Vicente Gonzales of Texas.

Since Joe Biden took office, over six million illegal immigrants have flooded into the United States. Some of the immigration catastrophe has been averted due to Title 42, which was implemented first during the Trump administration, which grants removals by the U.S. government of persons who have recently been in a country where a communicable disease was present. However, Title 42 is set to expire on May 11, 2023.

Recently in El Paso, TX — just 46 miles from the Second District — over 1,000 migrants rushed the Paso Del Norte bridge border entry point.

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on a measure, H.R. 2, to extend the policy that has alleviated some of the border fiasco.

According to Axios, “Months of work” on the GOP package have resulted in “the strongest border security package that Congress has ever taken up,” said Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA).

“The bill also includes money to improve technology for border security and additional border personnel,” reported the outlet.

“The crisis at the border is unfolding in these vulnerable Democrats’ backyards. They can either vote with their extreme party leadership or do something to alleviate the pain for their constituents – and we will be watching closely whose side they choose,” wrote National Republican Congressional Committee spokeswoman Delanie Bomar in a statement to the Piñon Post

Vasquez is one of the most vulnerable House Democrats up in 2024, with the NRCC putting his seat on the shortlist of congressional districts being targeted in Next November’s election. Former Congresswoman Yvette Herrell, who held the seat between 2021 to 2023, is running again for the seat with national figures, including Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who was in Las Cruces for her election kickoff.

Smugglers hire through WhatsApp, Craigslist to sneak illegals into NM

A recent report from KXAN News Austin has documented multiple recent altercations Border Patrol units have had with smugglers, mostly Americans, transferring illegal aliens into New Mexico through the southern border.

In one case reported by the outlet, a black Mazda CX-5 was stopped by agents in Hidalgo County after failing to stop for a speeding violation on March 14. The vehicle, manned by U.S. citizen Francisco Perez Mercado, sped onto Interstate 10 until crashing into another car in Lordsburg.

Perez Mercado’s companion Christina Lynn James-Blake and two of the illegal aliens being smuggled were airlifted to the hospital.

“James-Blake allegedly told Homeland Security investigators that she availed her vehicle to the smugglers for $1,000. She said she and Perez picked up Mexican and Guatemalan migrants at a Douglas, Arizona, motel and were to drive them to Phoenix, taking a detour through Southwestern New Mexico to avoid highway checkpoints…. Migrant apprehensions remain steady along Southwest border One of the migrants told investigators smugglers charged him $8,000 to get him across the border and past highway checkpoints,” reported KXAN.

On February 28, an agent stationed at the Arizona-New Mexico border spotted a passenger inside a blue Hyundai duck, which led to the questioning of the driver, U.S. citizen Gabriel Scott. He sped up amid being questioned and was later apprehended with a tire-deflation device.

“Scott allegedly volunteered that he picked up the migrants in Nogales, Arizona, and hid two of them in the trunk for more than three hours. Scott said he was recruited by smugglers through an ad on Craigslist for an undisclosed amount of money, court records show,” the outlet reported.

On the morning of March 16, a Las Cruces-area Border Patrol agent spotted a dark Dodge Challenger following a gold Jeep with its lights off. As the caravan approached a Border Patrol checkpoint, the Challenger revved past traffic and was later apprehended on New Mexico Highway 185 after two miles of pursuit. The gold Jeep has not yet been located, but the driver of the Challenger, Jorge Luis Freyre, told investigators he belonged to the Chuco Tango gang.

Another caravan situation happened near New Mexico’s Antelope Wells point of entry, where a white Chevrolet Silverado and a 2006 Honda Pilot refused to yield and were later stopped by tire-deflation devices.

Seven illegal migrants were apprehended wearing camouflage clothing in the Silverado and three in the Pilot.

“The vehicles eventually stopped, and border agents apprehended seven migrants wearing camouflage clothing inside the Silverado and three inside the Honda Pilot. All were from Mexico. One driver, Marco Garcia Acevedo, allegedly said he was hired through WhatsApp to transport migrants; driver Carlos Eduardo Cruz Guzman said he is an Arizona resident who entered the United States illegally, court documents show.”

On February 27, Matthew Paul Anderson of Phoenix was apprehended driving his SUV on New Mexico Highway 80, where he surrendered, revealing his contract to smuggle three illegal aliens from Mexico via one of his contacts. He allegedly said to the Border Patrol agent, “You got me, man.”

U.S. Border Patrol said in a statement, “Arrested smugglers intercepted in recent smuggling schemes have been primarily from Mexico and the United States. However, they have also come from other countries such as Venezuela, Honduras and Cuba.”

Biden to finally visit southern border

On Thursday, Joe Biden agreed to finally visit the United States’ southern border with Mexico, saying in an address regarding immigration from the White House’s Roosevelt Room that he will visit El Paso, Texas, on Sunday.

According to CNBC, Biden’s plans to curb the immigration catastrophe include “extending a migrant parole process to allow entry and temporary work authorization for up to 30,000 people per month from Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti and Nicaragua. The policy, which was previously available only to Venezuelan nationals, has significantly reduced the number of people attempting to enter the U.S. unlawfully, the White House said.”

Biden said during the speech, “It’s not like people are sitting around a table somewhere in Central America saying ‘I got a great idea. Let’s sell everything we have. Let’s give it to a coyote…They’ll take us on a harrowing journey…then we’re gonna illegally cross the border.”

Katie Pavlich of Townhall.com responded on Twitter, “Actually, this is exactly what is happening and Biden’s catch-and-release policies are enabling a multi-billion dollar cartel trafficking industry.”

Biden said during the presser, “Do not just show up at the border. Stay where you are and apply legally from there…. Starting today, if you don’t apply through the legal process, you will not be eligible for this new parole program.”

Here is more from the press conference:

Biden praised his “border czar,” Kamala Harris, for her response to the border crisis. She has not visited the border a single time while in his administration.

When visiting New Mexico and Arizona during the 2022 campaign to promote Democrat candidates such as open border-supporting New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, he refused to visit the border to see the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by his administration’s weak immigration policies.

National outlet shines light on NM’s border crisis as election issue

While most of the mainstream media is content to ignore the border catastrophe happening in New Mexico — a safe haven for criminal aliens and drug cartels — only a few news outlets, such as Fox News, have even dedicated a few minutes to the crisis of the state’s porous border.

New Mexico remains the lone illegal immigration free-for-all between Arizona and Texas, two states that have beefed up security on the southern border, even going so far as to allocate state funds to finish President Trump’s border wall.

The wall proved during the Trump administration to be a massive success. But now, with gaping holes being left for illegal aliens, human and drug traffickers, and even some terrorists to jump through with ease, the crisis has required a robust response.

Such a response has not come to fruition under Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Just the opposite. During her first few days as governor, Lujan Grisham pulled the state’s National Guard from the southern border, further exacerbating the crisis. She has parroted open borders rhetoric, which has led municipalities like Santa Fe and Albuquerque to declare themselves so-called “sanctuaries” for criminal aliens.

The Washington Examiner highlighted New Mexico in a piece published Thursday, focusing on the state’s governor’s race being a potential game changer to help stop the spread of deadly fentanyl and close off illegal immigration numbers, which have risen to over two million apprehensions just this year.

The outlet reported:

There is an additional reason New Mexico attracts less notice for illegal crossovers than its neighbors — federal agency classifications that can keep the state’s profile low when it comes to illegal immigration. There are no U.S. Customs and Border Protection sectors in New Mexico, the fifth-largest state by land mass at 121,365 square miles. Texas has multiple border sectors, along with Arizona and California. Even Vermont, the seventh smallest state, at 9,249 square miles, has its own sector up north along the U.S. border with Canada.

There are three border crossings in New Mexico, compared to six in California, six in Arizona, and 20 in Texas, even though at 179.5 miles, New Mexico’s border with Mexico is longer than that of California, at 140 miles.

That lesser amount of federal border resources put into New Mexico has become a major campaign focal point for Ronchetti. New Mexico has to pick up the slack from the federal authorities, argues Ronchetti, a former television weatherman who was the 2020 New Mexico GOP Senate nominee, losing to then-Rep. Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM) by a 6.1-percentage-point margin.

Ronchetti is up against an experienced candidate in Lujan Grisham, who won the New Mexico governorship in 2018 after six years in the House, representing the state’s Albuquerque-area 1st Congressional District.

The Examiner wrote that Lujan Grisham could very well be defeated, saying, “Lujan Grisham, however, may be vulnerable. In addition to taking heat over border policies, Lujan Grisham drew a wave of negative headlines early in the COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2020, she was criticized after purchasing jewelry from a store in Albuquerque once she ordered all nonessential businesses to be closed. In response, the governor’s office said the transaction was done remotely and didn’t violate the order.”

It added, “If Ronchetti ousts the governor, he’ll need only look south, toward the border, to know why.”

WATCH: Rep. Herrell delivers GOP response to Biden’s border crisis

On Saturday, Congresswoman Yvette Herrell delivered the Republican response to Joe Biden’s border crisis. Herrell represents New Mexico’s Second District, which includes New Mexico’s border with Mexico — straight in the middle of Joe Biden’s border catastrophe. Here’s what Congresswoman Herrell said in her address:

The district I represent is right on the border with Mexico. I have seen the Biden border crisis firsthand and so have many families in southern New Mexico who feel totally abandoned by their government and by their president. They know we need to preserve Title 42 to defend our border from new outbreaks of COVID. They also know we need to implement the successful ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy.

Today I met with the ambassador from Guatemala who was even more invested in helping us secure our border than … Biden. Unfortunately, there is a fundamental division in Washington. Republicans believe that our government has a duty to protect our citizens and secure our border.

We believe that our government has a responsibility to know who illegally crosses our border and then enforce the law. But Washington Democrats do not believe that Americans have the right to protect their home or even question the surge of thousands of non-citizens into the country. Instead, they would rather demonize the brave men and women of our Border Patrol and ICE ( and hide from accountability.

Democrats in Congress would rather ignore Joe Biden’s humanitarian disaster than give up their dream of open borders. But Americans won’t be distracted — not by the media or the Radical Left.

We stand for our workers, we stand for Law Enforcement, we stand for safe communities, we stand for borders, we stand for America.

Rep. Yvette Herrell: ‘It’s about time’ Kamala Harris visited the border

On Wednesday, it was reported that Kamala Harris plans to finally visit the southern border between the United States and Mexico after dodging a trip for months. A border crisis has begun on the border after migrants saw Joe Biden’s weak immigration laws as an opportunity to skirt U.S. law and come to America illegally.

According to the Daily Caller, “Border patrol apprehended 180,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in May, following 178,000 in April and 173,000 in March. Meanwhile, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported the fewest number of illegal immigrants in the agency’s history.”

Border-district Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-NM-2), who has tried on multiple occasions to have Harris and a bipartisan delegation visit the border to assess the crisis, took to Twitter on Wednesday, writing, “It’s about time [Kamala Harris] visited the border. To understand the situation, she needs to bring a bipartisan delegation and listen to the ranchers, farmers, and residents who see the #BorderCrisis every day.”

She said in a statement published later Wednesday:

It’s about time Kamala Harris visited the border. This should have happened three months ago when President Biden named her as his Border Czar.

More importantly though, her visit to the border needs to be more than just checking a box. To truly understand the crisis, she needs to hear from the ranchers, farmers, and residents who live with the effects of this administration’s open borders policy every day. I am more than willing to introduce her to my constituents so she can actually understand why this administration’s policies are not working.

On Tuesday, Herrell sent a letter to Harris telling her, “While I was disappointed you chose not to respond to me, I want to reiterate my offer for you to visit the border with me and hear directly from hardworking New Mexicans about how your border policies are harming them and threatening their families and livelihoods.”

She added, “May I also suggest that you visit the border with… President Donald J. Trump and Governor Greg Abbott during their planned trip in late June. President Trump can provide you an in-depth briefing on the programs that led to the most secure border in decades.”

“Such a discussion with President Trump is even more pressing given the unprecedented crisis that your administration’s policies have created at our southern border,” Herrell concluded in her Tuesday letter.

Now, Harris will visit the border, but it is unclear if she will welcome Republicans like Herrell, who represent border districts, on the trip.

Congresswoman Yvette Herrell reveals the truth about the border wall construction

On Monday, Congresswoman Yvette Herrell shared a video of her at the United States’ southern border with Mexico and all the materials meant to construct the border wall left untouched by the Joe Biden administration after he stopped construction of the wall.

The failure by Biden to finish the wall and his pro-amnesty positions on immigration have led to a humanitarian crisis at the border, with hundreds of thousands of criminal aliens attempting to enter the United States illegally.

Rep. Herrell spoke out against the wasteful lack of action on the materials left untouched by Biden. She said in a video posted on Twitter, “Not only are we looking at the gaps in the border barrier, but now we’re checking out all this material that’s sitting here on the ground. There’s a crusher on the ground that’s already crushed so much rock and they’re ready with the material. They have rebar, they have all these bollards stacked up.”

“If we don’t finish the wall, if we don’t finish the gaps in the barrier, the American public will be paying to either destroy all this material or store it,” said Herrell, adding that “it will actually cost the American population more money to stop construction on the wall then to go and spend the dollars that have been adjudicated and passed by Congress.”

“Again, if we’re not out here showing the American population what’s really happening on the southern border, you’ll never know because you won’t see this on TV. But all this material is sitting here waiting to be used and it will be at the expense of the American taxpayer.”

Since Biden has been installed, 351,803 illegal border crossings have been recorded as of the end of March, per the Department of Homeland Security statistics. The Joe Biden regime has repeatedly denied the existence of a border crisis and has tapped Kamala Harris to manage the issue. She has yet to visit the border.

Gov, Michelle Lujan Grisham recently denied Congresswoman Herrell’s request for New Mexico National Guard troops to be stationed at the southern border to assist with the crisis despite Lujan Grisham sending troops to Washington D.C. in January to assist with security for inaugural festivities.

Glorieta Camps could house thousands of illegal migrant kids from Biden’s border crisis

On Tuesday, it was reported that Joe Biden’s White House had asked the Glorieta Camps near Pecos to “house and feed potentially 2400 unaccompanied children” from Biden’s border crisis set forth by his failure to protect the southern border with Mexico.

The Glorieta Camps are run by a Christian faith-based non-profit called “Glorieta 2.0” which “offers a variety of lodging options for families and kids, including hotel-style rooms with full private bathrooms for families and bunk-style dorms with in-room sinks and shared bathrooms,” according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.

According to the Washington Post, more than 8,500 unaccompanied illegal alien children and teens were being housed in Department of Health and Human Services shelters, and a record-setting 3,500 children were backlogged at a Border Patrol station, as of March 10. That number has likely skyrocketed since.

Over the past few weeks, Joe Biden has been blasted for his failure to control the ravaging of New Mexico’s southern border after he encouraged these criminal alien children to cross into the United States with his weak immigration messaging.

Many illegal immigrants flooding into the U.S. can be seen wearing Joe Biden shirts and holding Joe Biden flags with the messaging “Please Let Us In” written on them.

There are thousands of illegal migrant children currently in federal custody who are in cramped makeshift holding cells while other children are being housed in metal prison-like boxes outside.

Josh Nelson, an executive assistant for Glorieta Camps, said he expected the Glorieta 2.0 to issue a press release regarding a federal contract about housing the children, but “he was unsure when the deal would be finalized,” reports the New Mexican.

Congresswoman Yvette Herrell and other members of Congress previously toured the Southern Border to shine a light on Joe Biden’s border crisis after he encouraged illegal aliens to flout immigration laws and stopped construction of the wall built by President Donald J. Trump.

Early in her term, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham left the border defenseless when she removed the New Mexico National Guard troops stationed near the border who were assisting the Department of Homeland Security.

Previously, Gov. Lujan Grisham claimed President Trump “failed” in his response to the border crisis despite him bolstering the border with resources, leading to fewer people crossing the border illegally. Trump had lower deportation numbers than the Obama administration, which Biden was a part of.
