Planned Parenthood promotes pro-abortion municipal candidates

New Mexicans should check twice before filling in their ballots for the 2021 municipal election due to pro-abortion dark money groups, namely, Planned Parenthood, which has endorsed and been promoting school board candidates in major New Mexico cities.

According to New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMAFL), Planned Parenthood endorsed the following candidates:

  1. Tim Keller, ABQ Mayor
  2. Lan Sena, ABQ City Council 1
  3. Cynthia Borrego, ABQ City Council 5
  4. Mauro Walden-Montoya, ABQ City Council 7
  5. Rob Grilley, ABQ City Council 9
  6. Alan Weber, Santa Fe Mayor
  7. Sig Lindell, Santa Fe City Council, District 1
  8. Carol Romero Wirth, Santa Fe City Council, District 2
  9. Roman Tiger Abeyta, Santa Fe City Council, District 3
  10. Amanda Chavez, Santa Fe City Council, District 4

“Based on public statements and electability, New Mexico Alliance for Life recommends the following candidates for Albuquerque Public School Board: Ali Enega for District 3, Crystal Tapia-Romero for District 5, Art Carrasco for District 6, Courtney Jackson for District 7,” wrote NMAFL.

For the Albuquerque City Council, the group recommends Dan Lewis for District 5, Lori Robertson for District 7, and Renee Grout for District 9. For the mayoral election, the group does not recommend supporting Tim Keller.

NMAFL wrote, “Tim Keller has taken campaign money from Curtis Boyd – the owner of Albuquerque’s scandal ridden, late-term abortion business Southwestern Women’s Options. In 2013, then-state senator Tim Keller also endorsed “Respect ABQ Women,” a group that worked to keep abortion up-to-birth legal in the Albuquerque city election.”

As the Piñon Post previously reported, Planned Parenthood said it was thrilled to endorse the embattled mayor.

Pro-aborts ‘march’ for ability to execute babies despite NM allowing full-term abortion

On Saturday, far-left anti-life extremists gathered outside the Roundhouse in Santa Fe to “march” for the right for mothers to kill their own children despite New Mexico being the most pro-abortion state in the country, with zero restrictions on killing babies in the womb. That means abortions up to and AFTER birth were legalized in the 2021 Legislature. Anti-life alleged serial groper Michelle Lujan Grisham almost couldn’t contain her excitement signing the abortion free-for-all bill into law.

Despite the extreme anti-life bills allowing unlimited abortions, apparently, the far-leftists haven’t received the message, with people gathering to demand murder of unborn babies.

Posts from attendees of the anti-woman, anti-life march show people in cervix costumes, “I stand with Planned Parenthood” signs, and many wearing masks despite the event being outside the Capitol and the risk of catching a virus being minute.

In attendance at the Santa Fe rally was far-left extremist Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM-03), along with the anti-gun Bloomberg group Moms Demand Action.

Others who gathered at Tiguex Park in Albuquerque also had the corporate-provided generic t-shirts and signs provided by the dark money abortion group Planned Parenthood, which commits around one-third of abortions each year. Some signs from pro-illegal alien groups supporting murdering migrant children read, “respect bodily sovereignty.”

Some cringe-inducing signs from the tiny Tiguex Park anti-life event had signs claiming “trans” women (biological men) could get abortions.

New Mexico is the abortion capital of the nation — if not the world — with many abortion tourists flying from around the country to the Land of Enchantment to end their babies’ lives. Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque aborts full-term babies after 32 weeks gestation.

Rep. Herrell schools abortionist: Dismembering a baby is ‘exactly’ what late-term abortion is

During a heated committee hearing in the U.S. House Rules and Oversight Committee chaired by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-NM-02) took a radical Texas abortionist, Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi, to task for the killing of babies in the womb in late-term abortions.

Herrell said, “I come from a state — the State of New Mexico — where obviously late-term abortion is alive and well. I don’t support that, but what I do want to ask you [are] specific questions about the procedure as a whole. Is it true that abortion procedures change based on the gestational age and size of the unborn child?”

Moayedi tried to dodge the question by answering a previous question, but Herrell said, “No, thank you. Please answer my question.”

“So, abortion procedures are individualized to the person, where they’re at in the pregnancy, their unique medical circumstances, and the setting in which we’re providing the [abortion].”

Regarding what procedures are specifically used in late-term abortions, Moayedi said she uses “the same techniques” as an earlier stage abortion but she uses “additional instruments,” such as forceps to break the limbs off of the older unborn baby.

Rep. Herrell then asked what specifically is the difference between an earlier stage abortion and one after 15 weeks gestation.

“We use a combination of gently dilating the cervix using medications and dilators and then removing the pregnancy using suction and instruments,” Moayedi answered.

“So these are more along the line of a dismemberment abortion,” said Rep. Herrell.

Moayedi jumped in claiming, “That is not a medical term.”

Herrell shot back, “But it is used…. The procedure.”

“The procedure is called a dilation and evacuation,” said Moayedi.

Herrell said, “So it is equal to dismemberment.”

The doctor once again claimed the term Herrell used is “not a medical term,” despite that being what happens in the late-term abortion: dismembering a baby in the womb  — which is an incredibly painful and excruciating death for the unborn child.

Herrell said, “Well, I just want to make sure that the public can understand exactly what we’re talking about because we are talking about dismembering a baby with a heartbeat.” She added, “Let’s call it what it is. I’m going to say dismemberment. You don’t have to respond to that but we all know that’s exactly what it is and people need to understand what we are talking about when we’re dismembering arms and legs of a beating heart baby.”

MLG’s dreams coming true: NM abortionists booked three weeks out after pro-life TX law

Following Texas’ move to save infant lives in the Lone Star State by limiting abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, New Mexico’s scandal-ridden alleged sexual predator Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s dreams are coming true of New Mexico turning into a destination for “abortion tourism.”

According to Alexis McGill Johnson, president of the nation’s largest baby-killing operations, Planned Parenthood, abortion facilities are booked solid in New Mexico for at least the next three weeks. “People are already making that journey,” claimed McGill Johnson.

Radical abortion funds, such as the “West Fund,” the“New Mexico Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice,” the“Mariposa Fund,” and other National Network of Abortion Fund-affiliated groups have been busy in the southwestern region to hook mothers up with appointments at abortion facilities in New Mexico for these women to kill their children through the dangerous procedure.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham previously signed an extreme bill legalizing abortion up to and after birth in the 2021 Legislative Session — effectively stripping out all conscience protections for health care workers and health protections for women and babies — leading to unsafe, unregulated late-term abortion in New Mexico. According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, “New Mexico remains just one of six states where it’s legal to have an abortion at any point during a pregnancy.”

Lujan Grisham praised New Mexico’s most extreme pro-abortion laws in the nation by proudly writing, “…we safeguarded New Mexicans’ right to choose and appealed the 50-year-old abortion ban.”

However, abortion proponents are still working off of 50-year-old science, which only in recent years has discovered the humanity of children in the womb.

Now, as New Mexico faces an influx of abortion tourists coming from Texas to kill their children, New Mexicans can help give support to these women by becoming a sidewalk advocate outside of local abortion mills in the area, especially Albuquerque at Southwestern Women’s Options where babies are being aborted up to and after 32 weeks of pregnancy.

Radical pro-abortion Dems cry on Twitter about life-saving Texas law

On Wednesday, Texas’ Heartbeat Bill became law, effectively banning all abortions after a heartbeat is detected in the state. Following the victory for human life, far-left politicians who have taken tens of thousands from the late-term abortion lobby over the years screamed on social media about the supposed “injustice” of not being able to execute full-term babies in the Lone Star State.

New Mexico politicians joined in on the pro-abortion lobby’s lamentations.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who paid off a staffer $62,500 for allegedly grabbing his crotch, claimed on Twitter, “Access to health care is in grave danger in Texas and across the country. Here in NM, we know women deserve the right to make their own healthcare decisions — and that’s why we’ve protected those rights.” Lujan Grisham erroneously claims abortion is “health care” and signed an extreme abortion up-to-birth and infanticide bill into law.

She used the Texas bill to fundraise, sharing a link to her donation page with the comment that she’s “stood up for women and the right to choose my entire career.”

Rep. Teresa Leger de Fernandez (D-NM-03) wrote on Twitter, “It’s unacceptable that SCOTUS allowed such a dangerous & extreme abortion bans (sic) to take effect in Texas.” She added, “We must immediately act to codify Roe & pass the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect abortion rights. Abortion care is a personal decision & a fundamental right.”

It is unclear where in the Constitution or in the medical code of ethics Leger de Fernandez sees the “right” to execute babies in the womb. It is also unclear how she believes banning an elective procedure to kill a baby in the womb is “dangerous” or “extreme.” Most believe the opposite, according to polls

Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM-01) wrote on Twitter, “Let’s be clear. Abortion bans endanger the health, self-determination, opportunities & well-being of our communities—especially BIPOC & low-income communities. That’s why I’m supporting the #WomensHealthProtectionAct. Congress must act.  #ProtectRoevsWade.”

Stansbury apparently believes that “BIPOC” or “Black, Indigenous, People of Color,” and low-income Americans’ well-being is determined by how many of their babies are killed in the womb. Previously, Stansbury told Native American (Indigenous) people displaced from their high-paying jobs that they should just “sell your art or your wool.” Stansbury clearly has revamped this racist rhetoric to push abortions on minority communities through the extreme “Women’s Health Protection Act,” which would allow the execution of many more babies in the womb in the United States.

Now, as the pro-abortion extremists scream about them not being able to kill full-term children in Texas, New Mexico’s radical abortion bill has encouraged “abortion tourism” from out-of-state for mothers to kill their babies in New Mexico at any time in pregnancy. Southwestern Women’s Options allows babies to be killed up to and after 32 weeks in pregnancy while some babies have made it out of the womb and been killed on the delivery room table. Many women, including Keisha Atkins, have died from these dangerous abortion procedures.

MLG blasts Texas’ pro-life laws while touting abortion up-to-birth law she signed in NM

On Tuesday, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham once again touted signing the most extreme abortion up-to-birth and infanticide law in the nation in the 2021 Legislature, as New Mexico’s neighboring state of Texas works to protect innocent life in the womb.

Ths wrote on Twitter, “On September 1st, Texas will have the MOST RESTRICTIVE abortion law in the country.” She is apparently referring to Texas’ S.B. 8, which restricts abortion as early as the sixth week of pregnancy and allows citizens to sue abortionists.

New Mexico is a haven for late-term abortion, with one clinic in Albuquerque, Southwestern Women’s Options, offering abortions up to and after the 32nd week of pregnancy. Women, such as Keisha Atkins, have died gruesome deaths following botched abortions in New Mexico.

Multiple children have also been found to be born alive in New Mexico following botched abortions and executed on the delivery room table

But regardless of the barbarity of New Mexico’s unsafe and extreme abortion business, Lujan Grisham claims on Twitter, “Women and their families should be able to access affordable reproductive health care. That’s why we safeguarded New Mexicans’ right to choose and appealed the 50-year-old abortion ban.”

Artificially ending the reproductive cycle via abortion is unnatural, unethical, and objectively not somethign that can be defined as “reproductive health care.”

New Mexico now has the least protective abortion laws on the books and there is no clause protecting the conscience rights of health care providers, which opens up the door for medical workers to be forced into performing abortions.

After Lujan Grisham signed the inhumane bill into law, she was given an award by Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business that makes millions of dollars off of killing babies in the womb.

As we reported at the time she signed the bill:

In a condescending quote, Lujan Grisham said, “A woman has the right to make decisions about her own body,” adding, “Anyone who seeks to violate bodily integrity, or to criminalize womanhood, is in the business of dehumanization. New Mexico is not in that business – not any more. Our state statutes now reflect this inviolable recognition of humanity and dignity. I am incredibly grateful to the tireless advocates and legislators who fought through relentless misinformation and fear-mongering to make this day a reality. Equality for all, equal justice and equal treatment – that’s the standard. And I’m proud to lead a state that today moved one step closer to that standard.”

Notice she claims pro-lifers are “violat[ing] bodily autonomy” (wrong), “criminaliz[ing] womanhood” (wrong), and are “in the business of dehumanization.”

The false and ironic rhetoric from the Governor comes as she just signed a bill allowing late-term abortionists to rip infants limb from limb just moments before birth, not to mention infanticide–killing infants AFTER birth, which is already occurring in New Mexico.

Now, as Texas looks to affirm the rights of children in the womb, Lujan Grisham appears to be running on a platform of making New Mexico a haven for extreme, unsafe, and late-term abortion up to the very moment of birth in the state.

Democrat state rep. who sponsored abortion up-to-birth bill takes a jab at pro-life Catholic bishop

On Sunday, in an op-ed published in the Las Cruces Sun-News, state Rep. Micaela Lara Cadena (D-Doña Ana) came to the defense of her colleague in the New Mexico Senate, Sen. Joseph Cervantes (D-Doña Ana), who was denied Holy Communion because he voted for the radical abortion up-to-birth and infanticide S.B. 10.

Cadena chastised the cleric, Bishop Peter Baldacchino, for withholding the Most Blessed Sacrament from Cervantes, despite giving Cervantes multiple unanswered warnings that he would not receive the Eucharist in his diocese if he voted to kill children in the womb with the passage of S.B. 10.

“I’m still feeling the sting of what happened in deeply personal ways,” wrote Cadena, sponsored the extreme anti-life bill. “The cultural war being waged by overreaching American bishops couldn’t come at a worse time for women and pregnant people in our country.”

Cadena appears to be claiming Bishop Baldacchino, who has the authority to withhold the Eucharist to those who are not in full communion with the faith, is “overreaching” despite hin having the authority and acting rightly according to Canon Law.

The far-left state representative tried to brush over her and Cervantes’ longstanding support for the gruesome practice of abortion, claiming, “As a mama, Chicana and Catholic raised in this diocese, I know pregnancy is sacred.” If she thought of pregnancy as “sacred,” then she should not be in support of tearing children in the womb limb from limb with forceps, sucking children’s bodies out of the mother with a vacuum, or giving women unsafe drugs to forcibly expel their children from the womb, leaving the mother in agonizing pain.

“And while select voices within the church hierarchy may think they can dictate what’s best for our families and chastise us if we fail to act according to their views, our faith also teaches us to care for our fellowship by caring for our communities,” she added.

However, the Bible directly says what the job of a pastor is. 1 Timothy 4:2-5 clearly states, “proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching. For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths. But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry.”

Baldacchino is standing up for not only what the Bible says, but for what the church teaches in practice. The bishop guided Cervantes in the right direction, with patience (such as his multiple letters of warning), and let Cervantes know the grave consequences of his actions. Despite if Cervantes listened to the truth or not, Baldacchino performed the work of an evangelist and did all he could to divert the senator from the myths and evil associated with abortion.

Cadena, despite all her rhetoric and titles she has bestowed upon herself as a “Chicana,” “Catholic,” and “mama,” she, as well as Cervantes disobey the faith of which they purport to belong by voting to destroy God’s most sacred creation in the womb. Chastising a bishop for doing his job will not fare well for Cadena or Cervantes come Judgement Day when they must answer for their crimes against God’s creation.

Assisted suicide via lethal drugs, abortion up-to-birth and infanticide bills take effect Friday

Friday is a solemn day for many New Mexicans as two bills rammed through the 2021 Legislature will take effect, including assisted suicide via lethal drug “cocktails” and abortion up-to-birth, widening the door to infanticide in the state and criminalizing health workers who object to abortion.

The assisted suicide bill is opposed by multiple disability rights groups, the Navajo Nation, and many patients living with terminal conditions. The law seeks to further normalize a culture of death in New Mexico by letting medical professionals prescribe lethal drugs to patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness that could take their lives anytime up to six months.

The bill would legalize doctors to prescribe a “cocktail” of lethal drugs to patients suffering from terminal illnesses, which will save insurance companies money. The American Medical Association is against assisted suicide.

During the bill’s hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sunday, the “expert witnesses,” law professor Robert Schwartz and physician Steven Kanig could not even list the drugs that would be prescribed to end an individual’s life and admitted that there is no set “cocktail” that is used. Schwartz claimed the concoction of harmful drugs “has been refined over the years” and that “these drugs do change.”

The abortion bill passed through the Legislature and signed by embattled Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who claims to be a Catholic, stripped away protections for women and their children in the womb and removed “conscientious objection” protections for physicians and medical professionals.

The pro-abortion law allows sex traffickers and child abusers to take a pregnant minor in for an abortion without any parental knowledge or involvement–not to mention without any reporting criteria.

With this law, a pregnant mother would be allowed to have an abortion at any pregnancy stage. It is a medical fact that the risk of death or serious injury to women increases to 76.6% in abortions after five months.

Despite loud opposition on both of these bills, which were previously defeated in past legislative sessions, the public was cut off and limited to ten minutes of testimony on each side of the argument during “virtual” committee hearings while a fence was erected around the Capitol building to keep the people out of the People’s House.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, “In preparation for the [assisted suicide] bill’s effective date, a new nonprofit group has been created to give information to families with ailing loved ones, and raise awareness of the new law among hospitals, doctors and hospice care providers.”

The Piñon Post organized New Mexicans to oppose these bills, which infringe on Constitutional rights enshrined in our Country’s founding documents. Our editor, John Block, testified alongside other New Mexicans against the abortion up-to-birth bill and prepared testimony against the assisted suicide bill. Despite the Piñon Post’s efforts, the closed-off Roundhouse made it nearly impossible to reach members of the Legislature.

Bishop of Gallup backs ‘eucharistic sanctions’ on pro-abortion politicians

On Friday, it was reported by LifeSite News that the Most Reverend Bishop James Wall of Gallup had come out against giving pro-abortion politicians Holy Communion. The Bishop’s statements came out in response to liberal pro-abortion Bishop Robert McElroy’s recent op-ed titled “The Eucharist is being weaponized for political ends. This must not happen.”

His title suggests that political motives are driving the bishops’ current discussion of pro-abortion politicians and worthy reception,” Bishop Wall wrote. “But while I don’t presume to know what’s in the mind and heart of my brother bishops, I am not motivated by political ends, nor are those with whom I have discussed the subject.”

Bishop Wall said, “Our concern is not political but pastoral; it is for the salvation of souls. This issue has political ramifications, but that is not an excuse to shy away at this crucial moment,” he said.

McElroy claimed that denying pro-abortion supporters is an “extremely expansive” litmus test, but Wall wrote, “It surely is not ‘expansive’ to put this evil in the category of grave sin.”

In response to McElroy’s claim that denying Coly Communion is an “assault” on the unity of the Church, Wall said, “Speaking the truth at times appears to create division, but often it simply exposes the division that already exists.”

“If Catholics cannot agree on protecting the helpless unborn, then our unity is superficial at best and illusory at worst,” he wrote.

Wall said, “In the past few months, several Catholic bishops have issued statements on the question of whether to publicly deny pro-abortion politicians the Eucharist. I am grateful to all my brother bishops who have courageously spoken out on this thorny subject.”

The U.S. bishops have been clear that “abortion is the great evil of our culture,” including by recognizing abortion as a “preeminent threat” in 1998 and the “preeminent priority” in 2019, he said.

“Pro-abortion political leaders have not heeded these calls, and now we seek to apply the last remaining and most severe medicinal option we have: eucharistic sanctions,” Wall concluded.

Bishop Wall has long been a supporter of the right to life of children in the womb, sharing multiple posts and pro-life sentiments over the years.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is set to convene to vote on whether pro-abortion politicians, such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and other leaders should receive the sacrament of Holy Communion.

The Eucharist is the most sacred tenet of the Roman Catholic faith, with the bread and wine offered through the sacrament of Holy Communion not merely representative of the presence of Christ — but through transubstantiation, the bread and wine transform into the true presence of Jesus Christ.

According to the USCCB, “The Body and Blood of Christ present under the appearances of bread and wine are treated with the greatest reverence both during and after the celebration of the Eucharist.”

“Before one steps forward to receive the Body and Blood of Christ in Holy Communion, one needs to be in a right relationship with the Lord and his Mystical Body, the Church – that is, in a state of grace, free of all mortal sin,” the USCCB continues.

Bishop Wall also promoted the Most Reverend Bishop Donald Hying of Madison, Wisconsin’s words calling out pro-abortion Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with Hying writing, “Pelosi says she’s ‘pleased’ with Vatican letter to U.S. bishops on Communion. So, in other words, Nancy, we bishops should just be quiet about your radical pro abortion stance, as you facilitate the continuation of the murder of millions of unborn lives.”
