Lawyer responds after Dems launch ‘egregious’ attacks against pro-life group

On Monday, following a rhetoric-filled press release from the Democrat Party of New Mexico (DPNM) attacking the pro-life group, Abortion Free New Mexico, the group’s founders, Bud and Tara Shaver, had their attorney write a letter to DPNM demanding a retraction.

The press release labeled the Shavers as “fanatical extremists” with “ties to domestic terrorism,” among other accusations to belittle the pro-life group, which had a fundraiser with Republican nominee for Congress in the Third Congressional District, Michelle Garcia Holmes.

DPNM also accused the group of sending out “ illegal mailers to Albuquerque voters” and promoting “doctored imagery on a large truck,” among other untruths.

Democrat Party of New Mexico Chairwoman Jessica Velasquez claimed, “The New Mexican Republican Party has an open door policy for fanatical extremists, like Bud and Tara Shaver. Michelle Garcia Holmes consistently aligns herself with the most dangerous MAGA zealots in Republican Party and if elected, she promises to ban all abortions nationwide, without exception for rape or incest.”

Abortion Free New Mexico wrote in a press release of its own, “Never in our pro-life missionary journey have we ever condoned violence of any kind, in fact, we are working to end the ultimate violent act that leads to the exploitation of women through abortion.”

“The Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) are the extremists because they support abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, even when babies could survive outside the womb. According to a recent poll released by the Associated Press, 80% of Americans oppose late term abortions. The fact that New Mexico is the late term abortion capital, is a hard truth that New Mexicans must grasp when considering who to cast their vote for this November,” wrote the group.

The Shavers’ attorney, Angelo Artus, wrote in a statement, “By publishing false statements of fact either knowing them to be false or in reckless disregard for whether they are true or false, you have exposed yourself and New Mexico Democrats.org to potential legal action. On behalf of the Shavers, I demand that you and New Mexico Democrats.org print and publish an immediate retraction of these falsehoods.”

Artus also argued that the mailers accused of being “illegal” were “a constitutionally protected” act of free speech, while the claim of “doctored” imagery was shot down by explaining the true and undoctored images were “the very real consequences of abortion.”

The Shavers added, “We love and value pregnant women from all walks of life and desire to protect them and their pre-born children. We will never waver from proclaiming the truth about the atrocity of abortion and will always stand up for the, ‘least of these’ among us. Our prayers go out to those who support abortion and we hope that those especially in Democrat Party of New Mexico would come to conversion and see how beautiful the gift of life truly is.”

‘Ranching Uncanceled’ shares ranchers’ stories battling government overreach

A new series done by Ben Luna of Lexit called features the stories of ranchers fighting the government from being “canceled” by overreach aiming at snagging the land that they’ve been ranching on for generations.

The series called “Ranching Uncanceled” showcases stories of ranchers, such as that of Mike and Kelly Goss, owners of the Sacramento Grazing Allotment (SGA) in the Lincoln National Forest. The Goss family is successor to cattle operations that have existed in the Sacramento Mountains since the 1880s.

They have been battling the government for years against attacks on their grazing rights, including severe limits to the number of cattle and other drastic measures. Their story is featured in the first episode of the project.

The filmmakers note that people in the city have seen the tangible effects of attacks on the people during the pandemic lockdowns, “but ranchers have been experiencing this tyranny for decades. What you will hear is heartbreaking, but what this documentary should cause is a fire within every American’s heart to stand for Liberty.”

“SGA is not only New Mexico’s largest allotment owner, but they are Otero County’s local food supply. With Food Factories going up in flames due to a coordinated effort to control free citizens, SGA would be the Otero County and neighboring counties emergency food supply,” the filmmakers write.

The second episode of the project titled “Patterns of Overreach” will feature the pattern of overreach in ranching that people in the city have only begun experiencing recently.

Members of the community and ranchers hurt by the government’s overreach recently held a rally and protest against the National Forest Service’s overreach and mandates that hurt not only ranchers but economies across the country that are harmed by the attacks from big government.

Lame duck Speaker Egolf demands NM vote Dem in doom and gloom op-ed

In an op-ed published in The Hill Saturday, far-left lame duck New Mexico House Speaker Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe), who is retiring after his current term, and Michigan House minority leader Donna Lasinski (D) teamed up to demand voters support pro-abortion candidates or else.

Egolf touted New Mexico’s 2021 abortion up-to-birth law that stripped all protections for mothers, babies, and medical professionals while legalizing full-term abortion in the state.

He wrote, “We cannot overstate the importance of this victory,” adding, “this is only possible because, in 2021, our Democratic legislative majority and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) repealed an abortion ban that had been on the books since 1969, ensuring it would not become enforceable again if Roe fell.”

He called pro-life laws that save babies a “nightmare scenario.”

The two pro-abortion Democrats claim that “a majority of Americans want abortion to remain safe and legal,” but lie because a recent Albuquerque Journal poll shows that most New Mexicans (59 percent) believe in restrictions on abortion.

14 recent national polls continue to confirm that most Americans back abortion restrictions, with most of these polls being conducted by academic and left-leaning pollsters.

Despite this, Egolf and Lasinski claim, “But a vocal and well-funded right-wing minority has poured dark money into state legislative races for far too many years, creating gerrymandered legislative majorities to try and inoculate Republicans from public opinion. We must keep fighting back.”

The rhetoric falls flat because Democrats are the recipients of millions in dark money from the likes of George Soros, Bill and Melinda Gates, and Michael Bloomberg, funding dark money groups such as pro-abortion Planned Parenthood, EMILY’s List, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and others that attack pro-lifers.

Another laughable claim is that “gerrymandered legislative majorities” are supposedly “inoculating” the GOP from public opinion, but rather in states like New Mexico, Egolf’s Democrat majority gerrymandered the latest legislative maps to promote extreme Democrat supermajorities in both chambers and in all three of the state’s congressional districts. Dark money groups were even caught giving $50 bribes to those who would testify in the “Citizens Redistricting Committee” to support the partisan maps.

In the op-ed, the two Democrats conclude, “We cannot afford to sit this election out while Republicans undermine the will of the people by abolishing our fundamental freedoms state by state,” but when it comes to the “fundamental freedoms” of the babies in the womb, both are silent.

Dem attempt to boot GOP AG nominee from ballot fails

According to Dan Boyd of the Albuquerque Journal, a Democrat lawsuit to try and boot Republican attorney general nominee Jeremy Gay from the General Election ballot has failed.

Boyd wrote, “Republican AG candidate Jeremy Gay will remain on the Nov. 8 ballot, as a state judge has ruled a Democratic-backed lawsuit challenging whether he meets #NM residency requirements was not filed in time.”

The Democrat Party of New Mexico wrote in a press release when filing the failed lawsuit, “The complaint outlines Mr. Gay’s prior residency to demonstrate that the earliest date Mr. Gay could establish residency in New Mexico was May 2019, which would be less than the five years of continuous residency required by the New Mexico Constitution to be eligible to be elected Attorney General in the General Election on November 8, 2022. Therefore, the lawsuit seeks to have Mr. Gay declared constitutionally ineligible to be elected Attorney General and compel the Secretary of State to not print his name on the General Election Ballot.”

Gay is a retired Marine who served his country in the Military, but the Democrats attacked him over a technicality.

In response to the lawsuit, GOP spokesman Mike Curtis said, “He was fulfilling his duty in the U.S. Marines, protecting our nation and our freedoms.” He added, “To try to boot someone out of a race for serving his nation is despicable. This is a disgraceful way the progressive left is trying to disenfranchise voters.”

“Jeremy and his family have called New Mexico home since 2014, and his wife was born and raised in Gallup, NM. Jeremy and his family temporarily left NM on active duty orders with the U.S Marines and returned as soon as he entered the Reserve Forces,” said Gay’s campaign manager Noelle Gemmer. “This is a disgusting attack on a veteran for his service and a desperate attempt by Raúl Torrez to deny voters options at the ballot box. It’s nothing more than another attempt to distract from Torrez’s failed record as prosecutor where he declined to prosecute over 50% of violent felony cases and dismissed 40% of the cases that made it to court.”

Gay remains on the November ballot against far-left George Soros-backed Democrat Raúl Torrez, a district attorney in the Albuquerque area.

Violent Antifa ‘terrorist’ mob storms Tomi Lahren’s UNM event

On Thursday, a radical Antifa mob shut down a scheduled speech from conservative Tomi Lahren in front of the University of New Mexico’s Turning Point USA chapter on campus. The mob stormed the Student Union building, forcing security to escort Lahren to safety.

The unruly extremists repeatedly screamed, “Shut it down! Shut it down!” before breaching the event.

WATCH:

Afterward, Lahren wrote on Twitter, “Campus terrorists showed up at my @UNM speech tonight and UNM did not care. They shoved officers and tried to bust down the door to the speech room. These colleges are unbelievable. They don’t care about the safety of conservative students or guests. Sickening.”

She added, “New Mexico police are now dispatched to my speech to deal with these violent and abhorrent protesters. Over speech you don’t like? Freakin disgusting.”

U.S. Sen Ted Cruz reacted to the mob rule at UNM, writing, “Disgraceful. Yet another university ignores & condones leftist violence and censorship.”

ANTIFA domestic terrorists took credit for the violent attack on Lahren’s event, with Post Millennial journalist Andy Ngo reporting, “#Antifa & far-left accounts are taking credit for shutting down Tomi Lauren’s campus speaking event at @UNM. The extremist movement views freedom of expression as intolerable, & uses violence or threat of violence to suppress speech.”

A violent Antifa mob previously attempted to shut down an event in 2017 with Milo Yiannopoulos, where arrests took place of far-left rioters.

Dem senator reports fellow Dem to FBI over alleged extortion attempt

State senator Daniel Ivey-Soto (D-Bernalillo) has reported a fellow Democrat, Senate Pro Tem Mimi Stewart (D-Bernalillo) to the Federal Bureau of Investigation over an alleged extortion attempt, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican. Ivey-Soto has faced a barrage of attacks from Stewart and leftist organizations claiming he has sexually harassed women — claims he has denied.

The report notes, “Sen. Daniel Ivey-Soto said an unidentified third party delivered a message to him from Stewart the day prior: Resign as chairman of the Senate Rules Committee and Stewart would make sure a confidential report that revealed new allegations against Ivey-Soto wouldn’t get leaked.”

“But if I did not agree to resign, then the report would be leaked,” he said to the New Mexican. “That is the very definition of extortion, and that is the reason why I reported that to the FBI at 3:30 [Thursday] afternoon, which was prior to [the report] being released.”

“The message was delivered through a third party, so there’s a witness to the communication,” said Ivey-Soto, adding, “I did inform the FBI who the third party was.”

Ivey-Soto says he “felt the need to contact the FBI because threatening an elected official is unlawful and threatening an elected official to take an official action [resign from a legislative committee] falls under public corruption. I took that very seriously.”

When the third party delivered the message that Ivey-Soto declined to be extorted, Steward leaked the report, as she allegedly threatened.

The complaint filed over the sexual assault allegations was suspended according to Ivey-Soto, who said, “Last week my attorney was informed that the current matter before the [committee] regarding the complaint is indefinitely suspended, with no further action to be taken.”

Some of the sexual accusers are former Michelle Lujan Grisham staffers and have previously made bogus sexual assault claims, including that of lobbyist Marianna Anaya.

As we previously reported on Anaya:

Anaya is a far-left activist who supported now-Gov. Lujan Grisham’s failed pro-voter fraud bill, S.B. 8 and S.B. 144, that would have instituted widespread voter suppression and election corruption, is now apparently bringing forth the claim after she didn’t get what she wanted — stolen New Mexico elections.

“You deliberately prevented the bill from receiving a timely hearing, knowing that such delays were an effective death sentence for any piece of important legislation during a short session,” Anaya claimed.

Anaya further claimed that at a recent dinner before the voting bill was considered, Ivey-Soto became “aggressive,” while at dinner where she said she confronted him over said accusations. She claims he “put the breaks” on the bill Senate Rules Committee, which he chairs, because of her.

She wrote, “The way that the bill was slow-pedaled by Sen. Ivey-Soto after this confrontation in his capacity as Rules chair had the indicia of retaliation.”

Anaya hired the same lawyer, Levi Monagle, who participated in the slander of former state Rep. Carl Trujillo (D-Santa Fe), which led to Trujillo losing his seat in 2018. Trujillo’s case happened in tandem with Planned Parenthood lobbyist Juliana Koob, whose dark money organization she represents spread the false accusations against Trujillo.

Docs. appear to confirm MLG violated another of her lockdown orders

While New Mexicans were under lockdown during Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s brutal pandemic orders, new documents posted by Brett Kokinadis of “Stop MLG PAC” appear to confirm previously speculated reports that the Governor broke her rules to go on a lake trip to Navajo Lake State Park.

Kokinadis wrote that Information of Public Records Act (IPRA) requests “from DFA (Department of Finance and Administration) show Munoz, Valles, & Medina, members of the gov’s security detail, received their Basic Boating certification during #COVID lockdowns. Why would you need to be boating during COVID, @GovMLG?”

One commenter noted on the post that Lujan Grisham “had already imposed her emergency order -which we are now 917 days into- when she was frolicking at Navajo Lake. Maybe this is what she meant by, you can never be too safe. She was ta[l]king about boating.”

The boating certifications, issued through AceBoter.com for Andrea K. Medina and Jose A. Munoz, are marked with a date of September 16, 2020.

According to the Governor’s office, her August 29, 2020, executive order mandating the pandemic closures ended on September 18, 2020, and was renewed on that date to go through October 16, 2020. It was also renewed after that.

The  Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), which oversees state parks, noted in a press release on May 28, 2020, that state parks were only open for day use by New Mexico residents starting May 28, but overnight stays (such as having a houseboat) was banned.

Multiple correspondences obtained by the Pinon Post show that many in-state and out-of-state residents requested access to their houseboats at Navajo Lake State Park but were denied.

One person wrote to the Governor’s office on September 8, 2020, “We have been denied access to our private property for several months now,” adding, “We believe our houseboat should be considered a NM residence and its owners allowed to access it.”

ENMRD responded, “Park staff and other law enforcement agencies will be checking identification and enforcing this order” banning access.

Another New Mexican wrote on May 28, 2020, “I’m a citizen of the NW part of NM…. My family and I are disciplined in practicing social isolation,” continuing, “We desperately miss our houseboat at Navajo Lake. We do not have visitors when we stay on the lake during the week.”

“Without visiting Navajo Marina and the lake, I realize you may assume a different opinion; however, they are prepared, [set up] to continue business under the new isolation standards.”

But according to the documents from Stop MLG PAC and other reports, Lujan Grisham allegedly stayed on Navajo lake during this pandemic lockdown period, which directly violated her day use-only order, per the ENMRD.

According to a press release from Stop MLG PAC:

Reports included certificates for boating safety courses, VRBO lodging, Navajo Lake Marina fees, and boating packages.

“There are nearly 1,000 pages of receipts containing lavish catered items and alcohol for large parties, excessive daily shopping, travel, and even perhaps activities in Taos, Vail, and boating on a Navajo lake. All this while the Governor scolded New Mexicans and ordered them to stay indoors, away from loved ones, and left to stand in the cold for groceries.”, Kokinadis continued.

Through the inspection of the Public Records Act, Kokinadis was able to target specific violations that violated COVID policies and cost NM taxpayers. In May, Governor Grisham was criticized for violating emergency public health orders, reportedly for keeping a business open so she could buy jewelry. Purchasing jewelry was not the Governor’s only violation of her policy.

Outdoor parks and lakes were closed when these specific boating certifications and Navajo Lake Marina fees were acquired and paid for by taxpayers. Many New Mexicans were banned from enjoying the same outdoor activities the Governor, and her detail enjoyed while on lockdown.

“It’s alarming to see how the Governor and staff waste taxpayer dollars, especially when so many people continue to suffer from her unfair and failed policies. We’re still reviewing the extensive documents and discovering other questionable uses of taxpayer funds.” Kokinadis continued.

Previously, Lujan Grisham was exposed for breaking her pandemic lockdown orders to buy lavish jewelry at Lilly Barrack, an Albuquerque-based luxury jeweler.

The Governor’s Office has been contacted for comment, but no response has been given as of publication.

Mayor doubles down on pro-abortion rhetoric, attacks Otero County

On Tuesday, the Alamogordo City Commission met to discuss the failure of the pro-abortion petition aiming at dismantling the city’s Sanctuary City for the Unborn resolution passed last month via a special election. The City Clerk reported that the petitioners only gathered 507 of the required 589 signatures, meaning their petition, which did not follow proper protocol in filing, was tossed out.

During the meeting, Mayor Susan Payne, who voted against the pro-life resolution and signed the pro-abortion petition that called the Commission “extremist,” doubled down on her opposition to the Sanctuary for the Unborn resolution.

Despite insisting on being “100 percent pro-life,” she claimed, “I will maintain with pride my stance that this is not a function of city government.”

She then said she would like to go back and change her vote on a previous resolution applauding Otero County for its pro-life resolution, which she sponsored, saying, “I voted ‘yes’ on the second resolution, and quite honestly, I shouldn’t have done that either. I wasn’t really voting for or against life. I was voting to support our county, which has got its own issues right now. So my plan is actually probably to bring that resolution … that second resolution for us to revisit it. I can’t do anything about the first one.”

She then, on a subsequent Facebook comment on an article about the petition’s failure, bashed Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin, who supported the City’s pro-life resolution, as a “grandstanding local politician.”

At the special August meeting she called on consideration of the pro-life resolution, Payne said regarding her “no” vote to declare Alamogordo a Sanctuary City for the Unborn, “This is a very controversial subject, and I’m going to be honest with you. It might make some people mad at me, and you know what? If you can’t respect the way I feel, that’s kinda your deal. But this is a very controversial subject, and one I have said all along I did not believe was a function of city government. And I still believe that. I believe that very strongly.”

An independent analysis of the pro-abortion petition obtained via an IPRA request found that the signers only had 502 apparently valid signatures — 87 shy of the necessary threshold to call for a costly special election. These included 48 invalidated signatures due to the lack of an address, extremely illegible entries, or duplicate signatures, and 86 signers who were not registered voters.

Alamogordo’s pro-life resolution sponsored by conservative Commissioner Karl Melton of District Three stands intact despite pro-abortion efforts to kill it.

Petition to strip Alamogordo’s pro-life sanctuary resolution fails miserably

Pro-abortion radicals suffered a crippling defeat Tuesday when they failed to get a mere 589 signatures for a special election to overturn Alamogordo’s resolution declaring itself a Sanctuary City for the Unborn previously passed by the Alamogordo City Commission, according to documents obtained via an Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) request.

The City wrote in a press release, “A petition to take Resolution 2022-38, passed by City Commission on August 2, 2022, at a Special Meeting, for referendum was filed with the City Clerk on September 1, 2022. In accordance with NMSA 1978 § 3-1-5. Petitions, examinations of signatures; purging; judicial review, and in consultation with the Secretary of State and New Mexico Municipal League, the petition did not meet the statutory requirements. As such, the city will take no additional action on this matter.”

The pro-life measure passed in August with support from all but two apparently pro-abortion members, Mayor Susan Payne and Commissioner Sharon McDonald, on the seven-member commission.

The pro-abortion radicals who attempted to force a special election that would cost $30,000 in taxpayer funds included an unregistered group, “New Voices Otero,” with influence from outside pro-abortion organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Although pro-abortion individuals make up the extreme minority in conservative, pro-life Alamogordo, the tiny band of radicals organized and declared that they got enough signatures on Thursday, September 1 — the deadline for submission.

But on Tuesday, the City of Alamogordo confirmed that the pro-abortion organizers had failed to meet the signature threshold. This failure deals them a crippling blow and the inability to waste city taxpayers’ funds on a frivolous election — an election which would have only reaffirmed the City Commission’s stance that the rights of the unborn are precious to city residents.

The resolution affirms that “each and every innocent human life is unique and precious to God,” while “human life begins at the moment of conception and continues, uninterrupted, until the moment of natural death,” according to scientific evidence. It also concludes, “The City Commission hereby declares itself a Sanctuary City for the Unborn.”

The pro-abortion petition’s failure is also a blow to Mayor Payne, who not only voted against the pro-life resolution but signed the pro-abortion organizers’ petition that erroneously dubbed the City Commission “extremist.” She also advocated on behalf of the petition, telling the Alamogordo Daily News, “I appreciate the hard work that everybody’s put into this.”

Payne recently responded to a negative, anti-Trump commenter on the Facebook post of City Commissioner Karl Melton, who sponsored the pro-life resolution. The commenter wrote regarding pro-life U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, “Tom Cotton is another fascist MAGA traitor,” adding, “The democracy hating GOP won’t stop until they suppress every vote that isn’t for them.”

Payne commented to the detractor, “lol me thinkst [sic] this is happening right here in our fair city recently,” apparently referring to pro-life Republicans making a difference in Alamogordo. Payne also leaked a private conversation she was involved in between city officials to a fringe leftist blogger and convicted felon who supported the pro-abortion radicals’ petition.

During the meeting to pass the resolution, Payne told the audience before voting against the pro-life resolution, “This is a very controversial subject, and I’m going to be honest with you. It might make some people mad at me, and you know what? If you can’t respect the way I feel, that’s kinda your deal. But this is a very controversial subject, and one I have said all along I did not believe was a function of city government. And I still believe that. I believe that very strongly.”

An independent analysis of the pro-abortion petition by the Piñon Post obtained via an IPRA request found that the signers only had 502 apparently valid signatures — 87 shy of the necessary threshold to call for a costly special election. These included 48 invalidated signatures due to the lack of an address, extremely illegible entries, or duplicate signatures, and 86 signers who were not registered voters.

The City’s count showed the petitioners had only 507 valid signatures — 82 shy of the 589 needed for a special election.

Following the news of the petition’s failure, Commissioner Melton said, “Alamogordo residents showed that they will not fall for the deception from the pro-abortion radicals. The petitioners only needed to get 589 signatures, less than 2% of the population.”

He added, “The fact that they failed to meet such an easy target is proof that the vast majority of Alamogordo is pro-life. I will continue to do my part to encourage a culture of life here in Alamogordo and Otero County.”

The Commission’s pro-life resolution stands intact, alongside a similar resolution passed by the Otero County Commission standing up for the right to life in the community.

MLG flies off to DC again, then heads to New York

On Monday, it was reported that far-left Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was heading out to Washington, D.C. again, this time for a Tuesday White House event with Joe Biden to praise his far-left “climate change” law erroneously dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act.” The mammoth bill costs American taxpayers at least $430 billion, according to Reuters.

Daniel Chacon of the Santa Fe New Mexican reported Monday that Lujan Grisham is “headed to Washington, D.C., at [Joe Biden]’s invitation to attend Tuesday’s signing of the Inflation Reduction Act and also meet with federal officials to advocate for additional wildfire relief.”

“While @GovMLG is in the nation’s capital, she’ll also have a consultation on an ongoing knee injury with an orthopedic surgeon from whom she has previously received treatment, according to her office.”

Chacon added, “After that, she’ll remain in D.C. and New York for political engagements. @GovMLG will return to New Mexico on Friday.”

The trip comes after a slew of disappearances from New Mexico for D.C., including her wedding, which was reported to have been officiated by Kamala Harris.

Lujan Grisham faces a tough reelection challenge from Republican gubernatorial nominee Mark Ronchetti who is polling within single digits of the embattled governor. Libertarian Karen Bedonie is also running.

Lt. Gov. Howie Morales is in charge while Lujan Grisham is away for her East Coast trip.
