NM’s all-Dem U.S. House delegation votes against protecting women’s sports

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved on a 219-203 vote, H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which will ensure the protection of Title IX, which passed over 50 years ago to protect women.

The bill’s passage would assert “that it is a violation of Title IX to allow individuals of the male sex to participate in programs or activities that are designated for women or girls. (Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded education programs or activities, including in public elementary and secondary schools and in colleges and universities),” according to the Republican Party of New Mexico.

“Under the bill, sex is based on an individual’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth. H.R. 734 does not prohibit male individuals from training or practicing with programs or activities for women or girls as long as such training or practice does not deprive any female of corresponding opportunities or benefits,” wrote the group.

All three of New Mexico’s U.S. congressional representatives voted “NAY” on the resolution.

Rep. Melanie Stansbury, a Democrat from New Mexico’s First Congressional District, claimed the bill to protect women was a “hateful right-wing campaign” against “trans” kids.

“I oppose H.R. 734 because I want our transgender kids to feel accepted, safe, and included. I want them to live,” said Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez, the Democrat who represents New Mexico’s Third Congressional District. She claimed instead of protecting women’s and girls’ sports, Congress should focus on gun control.

In another post, Leger Fernandez claimed the bill was about “legislating trans people out of existence.”

Democrat Rep. Gabe Vasquez of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District was noticeably silent over the issue, although he voted against the measure.

NM’s all-Dem congressional reps. vote against lower energy prices

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, which would lower American energy costs “by increasing American energy production, exports, infrastructure, and critical minerals processing, by promoting transparency, accountability, permitting, and production of American resources, and by improving water quality certification and energy projects, and for other purposes,” according to the U.S. House GOP.

The Republican-led effort received bipartisan support, with four Democrats voting in favor of the proposal.

According to Axios, “The past four H.R. 1 bills received entirely partisan votes. Democrats’ H.R. 1 bill for the past two Congresses was a sweeping election reform package known as the ‘For the People Act,’ which didn’t receive a single Republican vote.”

“Ironically, since Biden took office, his radical climate agenda has led to MORE emissions up to 6% higher than the previous administration. His anti-energy agenda is creating worse emissions while simultaneously pushing Americans into energy poverty,” wrote the Republican Party of New Mexico, adding, “It’ll create good-paying American energy jobs for workers producing the cleanest energy in the world. For comparison, America’s natural gas is 40% cleaner than Russian gas.”

However, all three of New Mexico’s congressional representatives, all Democrats, voted against the commonsense bill to lower Americans’ cost of living and restore U.S. energy independence.

Despite representatives like Gabe Vasquez of the Second Congressional District claiming to “stand by New Mexico’s energy workers,” he joined Reps. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NMCD-3) and Melanie Stansbury (D-NMCD-1) in opposing the bill.

In subsequent defensive Twitter posts, he tried to justify the anti-energy worker vote by claiming oil and gas CEOs in “glamorous out-of-touch mansions” were making him their “number one target.”

The Second District encompasses the state’s energy-rich oil patch, which is responsible for New Mexico’s economic stability. Vasquez’s vote against energy workers and industry will likely not fly in his attempt at reelection in 2024.

Former Congresswoman Yvette Herrell, a Republican, is set to announce her 2024 campaign in early April to reclaim the district.

NM’s congressional reps. cozy up to socialist ‘Squad’ leader AOC

On Saturday, following the U.S. House floor vote leading to the election of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as speaker, two members of New Mexico’s congressional delegation were spotted hanging out with none other than socialist “Squad” leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the sponsor of the Green New Deal.

In a photo posted on Saturday, Democrat New Mexico Rep. Melanie Stansbury of the First District posted a photo of her, House Progressive Caucus Chair Rep. Pamila Jayapal (D-WA), Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez of New Mexico’s Third District, and none other than Ocasio-Cortez.

She wrote in the caption, “A little bleary eyed around 2am this morning—celebrating being sworn with these amazing ladies. 118th Congress, Let’s do this!”

New Mexicans responded to the socialist quartet of lawmakers, with one New Mexican writing, “Will you do anything other than take selfies and pay yourselves on the back this year?”

Another wrote, “Not company you should be proud of keeping. Do you represent NM or far left, divisive, bigots like the two clowns in the middle of the pic. Shame on you Ms. Stansbury, shame on you.”

“Oh sorry you were inconvenienced by elected officials actually fighting for their constituents,” one person wrote regarding the 15 ballots it took to have McCarthy meet the demands of representatives whose constituents had concerns about his election as speaker.

All three of New Mexico’s U.S. representatives are Democrats after leftists in the state legislature gerrymandered the congressional map to heavily shift the Second District toward Democrats, leading to the election of far-left Rep. Gave Vasquez, another supporter of enviro-Marxist politicies despite the oil and gas-rich district.

All three of NM’s congressional reps. back extremist Jeffries for speaker

On Tuesday, the first day of the 118th Congress, the U.S. House of Representatives met at noon for inaugural ceremonies and to choose a new House speaker. After three ballots, there is still no new speaker in the newly GOP-led chamber. This came following Republican victories in the November 8 election that put Democrats in the minority.

Democrat New Mexico legislators drew extreme partisan gerrymandered maps that guaranteed three Democrat seats, which robbed the state’s lone GOP member, U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell, of her seat for progressive Gabe Vasquez in the Second Congressional District. Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the maps into law. They are currently in litigation, expected to reach the state Supreme Court for arguments on January 9, 2023.

All three of New Mexico’s delegation backed Nancy Pelosi ally Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) in the contest for speaker, while Republicans failed to successfully launch exiting House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to the speaker post. The Democrats unanimously cast 212 votes for Jeffries. The speaker needs 218 votes to earn the gavel.

Democrat Reps. Melanie Stansbury of the First District and Teresa Leger Fernandez of the Third District joined Vasquez in backing the New York Democrat for the speakership. Jeffries denied the 2016 presidential election and has been extreme on all issues, from abortion to policing.

The House is adjourned until Wednesday, when a fourth ballot will be taken for Republicans to come together and get to 218 with McCarthy or another nominee. Some have nominated Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) for the top spot, with some formerly McCarthy votes, such as Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), now backing Jordan.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, the U.S. House took its sixth vote, which also resulted in McCarthy losing with House Freedom Caucus members backing Donalds for speaker over the California Republican. The House is adjourned until another vote will be taken.

Democrat Rep. Melanie Stansbury thinks ‘LGBTQ men’ can get abortions

On Saturday, Democrat U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico’s First Congressional District shared photos on social media of a protest she attended at Tiguex Park in Albuquerque. The protest was against the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the archaic 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion on demand in the United States. The Court ruled that it was up to individual states to determine their abortion laws.

Stansbury shared photos of her speaking on a stage where a banner reading “Stand With Black Women” is displayed, along with other pro-abortion sentiments.

In the post, she wrote, “Our bodies. Our choice. Thank you to everyone who showed up to fight for reproductive rights! It’s time to get loud. Get organized. And get out the vote!”

One person responded to her tweet, “LGBTQ Men Get Abortion [Too].”

The far-left congresswoman responded with a “100%” emoji, showing agreement with the sentiment that “men” can have abortions despite many of the groups in the “LGBTQ” acronym not biologically being able to bear children, much less abort them.

One person responded to Stansbury with, “Gay men? Nope. Lesbians? Nope. Bi’s? 50% less. Trans? I guess. Q? Whatever the hell that is.”

Another responded with “Party of science” and two laughing emojis.

It appears Stansbury, who campaigned on supporting science, is joining other conspiracy theorists in their claims that defy science.

In 1973 when Roe v. Wade was decided, ultrasounds were not widely used until after the landmark Supreme Court opinion, while modern technology has only further affirmed the humanity of the baby in the womb.

Therefore, Stansbury’s fervent support for Roe and the pro-abortion propaganda claiming non-biological women can have abortions further adds to her non-science views.

Dems holding drag queen fundraiser for far-left candidates

On Thursday, the Democrat Party of New Mexico is holding a fundraiser for at least three far-left candidates, including U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury of the First District and legislative candidates Augustine Montoya (D-HD-22) and Danny Bernal, Jr. (D-HD-7).

Stansbury is running for reelection while Montoya is challenging Republican state Rep. Stefani Lord and Bernal is running for an open seat being vacated by Republican state Rep. Kelly Fajardo.

According to the invite for the event, which was updated to reflect a significant decrease in ticket prices from $50 to $25, the Democrats are hosting a “drag show” with Bunnie Benton Cruse, a former prostitute and failed candidate for state House District 28 vacated by Stansbury when she ran for Congress. The seat was ultimately filled by far-left ballot harvester Pamelya Herndon, a Democrat Party activist.

According to a 2021 report from the New Mexico Political Report, Cruse “has a conviction for sex work, which she is open about. She said that when she was young, another trans person told her there were three paths available to her in life: bartending, hair dressing or sex work.”

The Piñon Post previously reported:

Cruse made headlines in 2019 when a public, taxpayer-funded library hosted a “Drag Queen Story Time” event where he and another drag queen read to young children.

According to Cruse’s Facebook page at the time, he worked as a “Jello Shot Girl” at the gay bar Effex Albuquerque, and as the “Head Stripper” at “Shake N Bake.”

Montoya and Bernal are both far-left extremists, with support for radical “environmental” policies, unlimited abortions, and socialized school programs. The event with the far-left congresswoman and the former sex worker reaffirms their radical stances on issues across the board.

Vulnerable Dems Leger Fernandez, Stansbury double down on abortion support

Late Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court’s draft opinion on the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case was leaked to the press, which showed the Court was poised to overturn 1973’s Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion-on-demand in the United States. Roe’s defeat would mean individual states would get the ability to ban or legalize abortion as they see fit.

While pro-lifers cheered on the potential decision, which was later confirmed to be authentic by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Democrats doubled down on their support for radical abortion up-to-birth and infanticide policies. Those Democrats included vulnerable U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez.

The first-term congresswoman wrote on Facebook Monday, “In New Mexico, we believe that the personal decision to add to a family belongs with New Mexican familias, their faith, and their physician – and that politics and government interference have no place. Now more than ever, in the face of this anticipated and devastating draft decision, NM will stand with women and families.”

Leger Fernandez added, “We will remain a leader in ensuring that patients have access to the full spectrum of healthcare they need and deserve, including access to abortion care.” It should be noted that ther is never a medically necessary reason for abortion, therefore there is no such thing as “abortion care.” Abortion is the selective killing of a child in the womb.

In the attempt to take out Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-NM-02) from the House of Representatives, Democrats heavily gerrymandered New Mexico’s congressional map, which plunged large swaths of Democrat voters while adding conservative areas into Leger Fernandez’s Third District. According to FiveThirtyEight, Leger Fernandez’s district was winnowed down from a D+14 seat to a D+5. Leger Fernandez faces Republican Alexis Martinez Johnson in the General Election. Martinez Johnson previously ran for the seat in 2020, so this race would be a second round for the two candidates.

With a competitive cycle ahead in November, national polls are showing Democrats are training Republicans on generic ballots by double digits. Since protecting human life in the womb is an issue that many moderate Democrats in New Mexico believe is important, Leger Fernandez’s doubling-down on her pro-abortion stance could hurt her beyond measure in the November 8 General Election.

Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM-01), who also faces a tougher reeleciton with her district being downgraded from a D+18 to a D+11 could also face a tough race, with her radical stance on abortion.

“It’s now clearer than it’s ever been: SCOTUS is about to gut our basic rights to control our own bodies. It’s up to the Senate to end the filibuster and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, now,” the first-term Democrat congresswoman wrote on Twitter.

She added, “Care remains available—this is still a draft opinion. But we must continue the fight in the Senate and at the ballot box.”

As Democrats continue to go all-in on abortion up-to-birth policies, Republicans have a shot at picking up seats across the nation, especially with the control of Congress and the Legislatures having even more significance in the abolition of abortion across the U.S.

NRCC adds Stansbury to 2022 target list

On Wednesday, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), added first-term Democrat Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico’s First Congressional District to its target list, putting all three of New Mexico’s congressional seats in play. Emmer previously announce the Third District, held by first-term Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez was on the target list.

In the news release about Stansbury being added as a target, NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer, a congressman from Minnesota, said, “Republicans have the message, the candidates, and the resources needed to take back the majority,” He added, “Vulnerable Democrats who chose not to retire will be shown no mercy.”

One of the two Republicans who qualified for the June 7 GOP primary ballot, Calibers owner Louie Sanchez said, “One month ago, [CD1 was rated] rated favorable Democrat and now it is on their target list,” said Louie Sanchez, candidate for the First District.”

He added that the NRCC’s decision “says a lot about our team and our campaign that we’re running that the NRCC would put CD1 in play.”

“I think it’s hugely in play,” said GOP congressional candidate Michelle Garcia Holmes who previously ran for the seat. Since then, the seat has been partisanly gerrymandered, which added Republicans to the district. The Republican-leaning Second District’s conservative voters were stretched into the two other districts.

Garcia Holmes said, “The benefit of having run before is we now [have] a bird’s eye view of where we were weak and where we were strong with the old district.”

Stansbury’s team sent out a panicky fundraising email, saying, “We already knew that First-term Representatives are often seen as the most vulnerable. Now, we know how serious the GOP is about defeating Melanie this year.”

“They’re looking for any signs of weakness within our campaign, and this upcoming public FEC filing is our chance to show just how strong our momentum is.”

Stansbury won a special election in 2021 after Deb Haaland vacated the seat to join Joe Biden’s Department of the Interior. During that race, Stansbury was criticized for comments she made telling displaced Native American workers to just “sell your art or your wool” — a slur against Native Americans.

Now, the formerly heavily Democrat First and Third Districts could flip Republican this year, possibly resulting in all three New Mexico U.S. House seats to the Republican column.

Dems desecrate MLK Day to promote radical election ‘equity’ legislation

Instead of taking today, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, to honor Dr. King’s incredible contribution to civil rights in the United States, many Democrats have taken the national holiday to promote their radical agenda to create election “equity,” which will allow fraud to seep into American elections.

Freshman Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) wrote on Twitter, “This #MLKDay, our country is at a critical juncture on voting rights. Let’s not only commemorate Dr. King as a champion of voting rights and racial equity—let’s honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to action. We owe it to the next generation to defend our democracy.”

Far-left freshman Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM-01), wrote on her timeline, “The right to vote is sacred. We must honor Dr. King’s legacy and protect #VotingRights. I am proud to cosponsor the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and was proud to vote for its passage along with the Freedom To Vote Act in the House.  Now, the Senate must act.”

Stansbury is known for her racist slur against Native Americans, telling displaced Dinè energy workers to just“sell your art or your wool” to survive.

“Dr. King’s commitment to do what is right inspired generations and helped bring millions fair access to the ballot. We must uphold the sacred foundation of our democracy. It is time for the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act,” wrote far-left freshman Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM-03).

Other extreme leftist New Mexico Democrat politicians are sure to write vulgar statements desecrating Dr. King’s legacy by using his name as a vehicle for radical pro-election fraud legislation, but others have taken the day to honor the great legacy of the late civil rights leader who was killed by bigots for standing up for EQUALITY — NOT — “EQUITY.”

Jewll Powdrell of the Republican Party of New Mexico’s Executive Committee said, The Republican Party stands with the Black community, and I am proud to be a Republican. The Party understands the importance of equality for all and what Dr. King stood for. Dr. King was a man who has had a profound effect on the plight of Black Americans. It should be noted that his March on Washington speech in 1963 was an effort to unite a country that was so divided and remains very much so today. Due to his efforts, many of the ills which plagued this country no longer go unchecked, such as the ability to procure lodging while traveling, and the opportunity to live in any community of your choosing. To me, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a constant reminder to appreciate, understand, and take full advantage of everything he marched and died for–the most significant of which, to exercise my right to vote.”

As well as on the national level, radical Democrats in New Mexico, headed by scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, aim to ram through a pro-election fraud bill in the 2022 Legislature beginning this week to make it easier to cheat in New Mexico elections.

Dems send gerrymandered U.S. House map to MLG’s desk

On Saturday, New Mexico House Democrats rammed through an updated U.S. House map proposal, on a vote of 44-24.

The new map skews all three districts to favor Democrats, albeit only slightly in the Third and Second Districts. District 3 represented by Democrat Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez is weakened from a D+14 to a D+5, District 2 represented by Republican Rep. Yvette Herrell is flipped from an R+14 to a D+4, and District 1 represented by Democrat Rep. Melanie Stansbury is weakened from a D+18 to a D+11.

Democrats achieved this partisan advantage by extreme gerrymandering, including chopping up communities of interest to meet its partisan agenda. The Third District snakes all the way from the northwest corner of the state down to the southeast corner of the state, including northern Hobbs, Roswell, and Lovington with places like Española and Santa Fe.

The Second District includes Albuquerque’s South Valley and many of its Republican-leaning areas have been segregated out of the district. The First District snakes down to Roswell while eating up Lincoln and Torrance Counties.

Although the Democrats may, however, have shot themselves in the foot with the passage of this partisan map, especially with 2022 expected to be a Republican blowout year and their now more vulnerable incumbent Democrats having to fend off Republican opponents who very well could flip the Third District and hold onto the Second District.

“It looks to me like the Senate plan purposefully makes the current competitive districts uncompetitive,” said Rep. Greg Nibert, R-Roswell, during a roughly three-hour floor debate on the bill Saturday. “That is not by happenstance; that is by design, and it is politically motivated.”

Screenshot of the new map passed via FiveThirtyEight.

The governor is expected to sign the partisan map, although it may end up in the courts.
