Toulouse Oliver campaign claims she’s ‘been upholding election integrity’

In a recent fundraising email, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver’s campaign made an inaccurate claim that she “has been upholding election integrity since she took office.” This comes after she has repeatedly tried to unilaterally change the election code, which has forced the state Supreme Court to strike down her attempted changes.

Also, Toulouse Oliver backed multiple far-left proposals in the Legislature to remove integrity measures and let absentee ballots arrive the Friday after an election. That proposal also called for universal unsecured ballot drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and other measures that would have left New Mexico elections even more wrought with fraud.

But despite that, her campaign claims, “In one of the most vital election years on record, they say it’s all about election integrity for them, yet we’re not sure why because Maggie has been upholding election integrity since she took office. She intends to continue ensuring our elections are fair, free, safe, and secure when she wins reelection.”

Also, Toulouse Oliver’s campaign asserts it is “busy fending off attacks from far-right extremist billionaires with deep pockets claiming our election was a lie,” citing an unnamed “billionaire-backed dark money group.”

The comment reeks of irony as Toulouse Oliver has had the backing of far-left billionaire-backed dark money groups, including George Soros-funded pro-abortion EMILY’s List, Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico, eco-Marxist “350” and the “Sierra Club,” among others.

The Secretary of State has weaponized her office throughout the years to go after political opponents, including her attempt to stop the Otero County audit of the 2020 election, which has already shown multiple abnormalities. She has worked in concert with Attorney General Hector Balderas and State Auditor Brian Colón to attempt to stop the county-sanctioned inquiry.

Colón sends bloviated letter threatening Otero County over 2020 election audit

State Auditor Brian Colón, who is currently running for New Mexico attorney general, is meddling in Otero County’s audit of the 2020 election. Colón sent a rhetoric-filled letter to the county commissioners Monday threatening them with the “potential” of “costly civil litigation,” among other measures.

Colón claimed that “the County is deficient in their ability to properly oversee the compliance of contractual agreements and further lacks proper oversight policies for contract compliance.”

“Based on statements made to Commissioners, these volunteers would in no way represent themselves as County employees to County residents that they were interviewing. However, additional concerns brought to our attention suggest that it appears volunteer canvassers at the direction of the contractor are falsely representing themselves as employed by the County. The OSA has concerns of potential liability for the County in connection with alleged civil rights violations of its citizens.”

There is no evidence showing canvassers as representing themselves as employed by the County. Even in leftists’ TikTok videos used to try and delegitimize the audit, canvassers have represented themselves as “volunteers” that are helping Otero County in the audit.

“The stated purpose and methodology of the ‘audit’ gives the appearance of the entire affair simply being a careless and extravagant waste of public funds, which does not appear to serve any useful purpose to the taxpayers of Otero County,” Colón went on to write.

He even accused the three Otero County commissioners of violating their office, writing, “As a result, it appears that the County Commission failed to treat their government position as a public trust and instead used the powers and resources of their public office to waste public resources in pursuit of private interests concerning unsubstantiated claims of widespread election fraud, and failed to advance the public interest in the County by entering into a contractual agreement with a private company to look for fraud within the County’s general election despite the County’s results.”

“I speak for myself, but I think the other two commissioners feel the same way that we strongly support this audit,” Commissioner Vickie Marquardt said at a March 10 commission meeting.

“I don’t want to do anything else that’s going to bring negative effects on you for getting harassing phone calls. That’s not what this should be about,” referring to David and Erin Clements, who have helped spearhead the audit. The Commission denied a request to clarify the political affiliation of the auditor staff at the meeting, according to the Alamogordo Daily News.

Many outside forces from California, New York, and other places have injected themselves into a smear campaign against the Otero County audit, with Democrat Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver and Attorney General Hector Balderas piling onto the swath of misinformation to attempt to stymie participation. Toulouse Oliver has even used the audit as a means to fundraise for her reelection to her office. 

Amy Barela, the past-Chairwoman of the Otero County Republican Party and current District 2 candidate for Otero County Commission told KALH radio, “The county needs to review the expenses of the New Mexico Audit Force to make sure they are distributed and allocated as they are intended to be.”

MLG ‘conspiring’ to ram pro-voter fraud bill through the backdoor: Report

According to a report from the New Mexico House Republican caucus, Democrats and scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham are “conspiring” to ram through the embattled governor’s pro-voter fraud bill through the backdoor. 

“According to credible sources, House and Senate Democrats are now in secret negotiations with the Governor to convene a special session. After facing the embarrassment of a historic veto override in a legislature-led extraordinary session, the Governor has convened with Democrats, without public input, to garner the support of enough Democrats to end their pursuit of an extraordinary session,” wrote the Caucus.

“Instead, she will call a special session and the unhappy Democrats will re-introduce the Junior Appropriations Bill, which she will now sign, in order to avoid having her veto overridden and public [acknowledgment of Democrats’] loss in confidence of the administration.”

The report concludes, “In addition to addressing the Governor’s veto of the Junior Appropriations Bill, secret discussions are taking place to revive the controversial election code changes and hydrogen hub legislation that were defeated just weeks ago.”

The Junior Appropriations Bill had $50 million in projects carefully selected by each legislator and funded things such as the Special Olympics, senior centers, vehicles for law enforcement, and tools to solve child abuse cases. Lujan Grisham flatly vetoed the entire bill, to the ire of both Republicans and Democrats.

“It is obvious that Lujan Grisham doesn’t believe that she can win re-election without changing our election laws just months before New Mexican voters are set to decide if she has done a good enough job to stay in office,” said House Republican Whip Rod Montoya (R-Farmington). 

The pro-voter fraud bill that failed in this year’s legislative session included provisions such as expanded use of ballot drop boxes, mail-in votes being accepted one week after an election, giving third parties backchannel access to voting data, among other measures. It died in the Senate in the final hours of the session due to a filibuster by Sen. William Sharer (R-San Juan).

Montoya said, “It is time for the governor and Democrat leaders in the House and Senate to stop the secret backroom dealing. Their actions reek of the corruption and politics New Mexicans have grown tired of.”

Hiding something? AG, SOS deploy panicked ‘voter risk advisory’ amid Otero audit

On Wednesday, far-left New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas and Secretary of State sent out a panicked “voter risk advisory,” apparently trying to fear monger Otero County residents into not participating in the county’s 2020 election audit where canvassers are going door-to-door asking if voters cast ballots in the 2020 General Election.

But Toulouse Oliver and Balderas are making it sound like canvassers from the “New Mexico Audit Force” conducting the audit are somehow attempting to demand personal information, which is not happening during the audit process sanctioned by the County.

The fear-mongering advisory reads: 

The Otero County Commission recently authorized a controversial “audit” of the 2020 election to be conducted by a third-party organization called New Mexico Audit Force. Part of the New Mexico Audit Force’s activities involve deploying canvassers to go door-to-door throughout Otero County interrogating voters about their personal information and their participation in the 2020 General Election.

This activity has caught many Otero County residents off guard as they are being approached at their doorsteps by New Mexico Audit Force canvassers who are not employed by Otero County, yet who are claiming to be representatives of the county. According to the Otero County Attorney, these canvassers have not been subjected to any background checks and according to Erin Clements, director of the New Mexico Audit force, when speaking to the Otero County Commission, “We would introduce ourselves as ‘New Mexico Audit Force’ and not mention the county at all.” There are estimated to be about 60 canvassers currently in Otero County.

It further states multiple inaccurate statements, bullet-pointed below:

  • Who you vote for on your ballot is secret. No one, not even election administrators, can tell what your ballot choices were in any election.
  • Through publicly-available voter data, it is possible to tell your party affiliation (or lack thereof) and if you voted in a particular election. But, again, your specific ballot choices are always secret.
  • You are not required (nor can you be compelled) to provide information about who you voted for, why you voted, any personal information, or what your voting experience was like to anyone.
  • You are not required to participate in this so-called “audit” or provide any information unless you choose to do so.
  • New Mexico’s county clerks and Secretary of State already has mandatory vote count verification and election audit procedures in place after every election to ensure the accuracy of election results. New Mexico also uses 100% paper ballots in every election and voting machines are never connected to the internet.

Voting machines in New Mexico ARE, INDEED, CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET contrary to the claims made by the two politicians and the “audit” process conducted after the election by the Secretary of State’s office is in no way equivalent to a forensic audit, like the one being done in Otero County.

Following the panicked press release, Erin Clements, who is leading the New Mexico Audit Force, wrote the following on Telegram:

[T]he press release today was because the SOS is losing her grip and is stooping to use her office to repeat a story started by a doxing, blue-haired low-life.  

Only guilty people act like that. 

It blows my mind how extremely scared these people are of a little door-to-door verification of a little database and a little recounting a few paper ballots in a little red county where no one is even expecting any elections to be overturned.

GOP successfully kills MLG’s pro-election fraud bill by running out the clock

On Thursday, far-left Democrats rammed through S.B. 144, a far-left bill amended in the dead of night earlier this week to put 165 pages of radical pro-voter fraud language to the formerly two-page bill. The bill included ballot harvesting, unsecured ballot drop boxes for ballot stuffing, automatic voter registration, among other measures to make New Mexico elections less secure.

The chamber abruptly cut off debate after three hours, with multiple Democrats voting against the bill, resulting in a tighter 39-30 vote in the chamber.

State Sen. Bill Sharer (R-San Juan) filibustered for hours, talking about everything from trees to volcanic movement, taxation, water, and camaraderie in the Senate. 

“Just let them play. They will figure out how to win the game. Yep, there [have] to be rules, but we just can’t let them do stuff,” Sharer said. 

“I really love you,” state Sen. Michael Padilla (D-Bernalillo) said in the final minutes of the filibuster, hugging the San Juan County senator.

“Mr. President, if the only tool I have is a hammer, everything I have looks like a nail,” Sen. Sharer said regarding using his tools of the filibuster to stop the Democrats’ radical election fraud bill.

Sharer successfully stopped the ramming through of S.B. 144 — another major defeat for far-left scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, whose legislative agenda has repeatedly failed. Everything from S.B. 14, a gas tax on the poor, to H.B. 9, a radical anti-gun bill, and hydrogen power, has failed. 

Naturally, following the Democrats’ gigantic partisan defeat, leftists lost their minds on social media, with leftists claiming they would“report” GOP tweets about alleged“election misinformation.”

Legislative update: Radical elections, enviro-Marxist bills have Tuesday hearings

On Monday, the House Government, Elections, and Indian Affairs Committee was canceled after its chairwoman, Rep. Georgene Louis (D-Bernalillo) was arrested for aggravated DWI, among other charges.

In the House Judiciary Committee, Chairwoman Gail Chasey (D-Bernalillo) took no public comment on S.B. 159, a bill that would increase legislators’ pensions by 27% after the age of 65 — a highly unpopular move with the people who are still suffering under Gov. Lujan Grisham’s pandemic orders and record-high inflation. It passed unanimously through the committee with no debate from the legislators. It passed the House later on Monday, now heading to the Governor’s desk.

While debating on the House floor, Speaker Egolf ordered the doors of the chamber be locked around 7:40 p.m. while discussing a bill that would give leeway to oil and gas producers to avoid brownouts likely to happen this summer due to the anti-energy policies of the current administration. 

The House also voted for Democrats’ piecemeal gross receipts “tax cut” of 0.25% and declined a GOP alternate to double the amount of the cut. Democrats responded happily with how the Democrats rammed through bills, while also shifting blame for their brownouts that will occur this summer due to their closure of the San Juan Power Plant.

S.B. 14, ENACTING THE CLEAN FUEL STANDARD ACT, by Sen. Mimi Stewart (D-Bernalillo)

Stewart is an ardent anti-energy Democrat who has for years proposed this extreme legislation that would install “clean fuel standards,” resulting in a 20 to 35 cent per gallon tax on gasoline, which would harm the poorest New Mexicans. This bill harms the most vulnerable New Mexicans and testimony is requested against it. 

It is unclear who wil chair the Government, Elections, and Indian Affairs Committee for consideration of this bill at 8:30 a.m. due to its chair, Georgene Louis being in jail over an aggravated DWI charge, but it is on the agenda for Tuesday. S.B. 144 (MLG’S PRO-ELECTION FRAUD BILL IN DISGUISE) by Sen. Katy Duhigg (D-Bernalillo)

On Friday, it was revealed that Speaker Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe) and the radical House Democrats, desperate to push scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s agenda cross the finish line, will be attempting to amend S.B. 144, a previously two-page bill that passed the senate regarding the intimidation of election workers.

The amendments would install radical pro-election fraud language contained in S.B. 8 to S.B. 144 despite the purpose and title of the bill being different than the proposed amendments — a violation of House rules. The amendments would be worse than the provisions in S.B. 8.

According to the title page of the amendments, it includes“REPEALING AND REPLACING THE REGISTRATION AT VOTING LOCATION PRIOR TO VOTING PROVISIONS; PROVIDING THAT INMATES ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE AND REGISTER TO VOTE UPON RELEASE AND CONFORMING A PROVISION RELATING TO RESTORATION OF RIGHTS; REVISING PROVISIONS RELATING TO MONITORED SECURED CONTAINERS; CLARIFYING PROCEDURES FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF VOTED MAILED BALLOTS; ENACTING THE NATIVE AMERICAN VOTING RIGHTS ACT TO PROTECT POLLING PLACE ACCESS AND ADDRESS OTHER ELECTION ISSUES INVOLVING VOTERS ON INDIAN NATION, TRIBAL AND PUEBLO LAND; MAKING TECHNICAL AND CONFORMING CHANGES; AMENDING, REPEALING AND ENACTING SECTIONS OF THE NMSA 1978.”

One major change spotted is that the amendment would take away a perjury charge for knowingly submitting a false ballot This language was stricken: “​​then complete the form on the reverse of the official mailing envelope [which shall include a statement by the voter under penalty of perjury that the facts stated in the form are true and the voter’s name, registration address and year of birth] under the privacy flap.” 

Multiple George Soros-funded out-of-state groups are supporting this radical bill, including the far-left “Center for Civic Policy,” which successfully helped the Legislature ram through partisan legislative and congressional maps to heavily favor Democrats. 

The bill explicitly breaks House Rule 11-4, which reads as follows:

The subject of every bill shall be clearly expressed in its title, and no bill embracing more than one subject shall be passed, except general appropriation bills and bills for the codification or revision of the laws. General appropriation bills shall embrace nothing but appropriations for the expense of the executive, legislative and judiciary departments, interest, sinking fund, payment of the public debt, public schools and other expenses required by existing laws. All other appropriations shall be made by separate bills.

New Mexicans are urged to call and email legislators who sit on the House Judiciary Committee and demand they reject any amendment to S.B. 144 that would chance the purpose of the bill.

H.B. 6, the “Clean Future Act” by Rep. Nathan Small (D-Doña Ana)

This radical bill would further cripple energy producers in New Mexico by mandating the Environmental Improvement Board adopt rules that would force the reduction of “greenhouse gas emissions.” 

“by 2030, statewide direct emissions of greenhouse gases shall not exceed fifty percent of 2005 levels; and by 2050, total statewide greenhouse gas emissions shall achieve at least net-zero emissions; provided that total statewide direct emissions of greenhouse gases shall not exceed ten percent of 2005 levels in 2050 or any subsequent year,” the bill reads. The bill is supported by enviro-Marxist organizations including the Sierra Club, Olé, ProgressNow New Mexico, among others.

On Sunday, the Senate met briefly to discuss multiple mostly non-controversial measures, including S.B. 140 regarding the Opportunity Scholarship and a memorial regarding Los Alamos National Labs. It did not, however, consider S.B. 8, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s pro-election fraud bill.

H.B. 126, STATE PERSONNEL DIVERSITY ACT by Reps. Pamelya Herndon (D-Bernalillo) and Tara Lujan (D-Santa Fe).

This bill would implement Critical Race Theory into state agencies, which mandates the “Chief Diversity Officer” of the state to “lead the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equality, equity and inclusion initiatives in support of the state’s strategic plan to create a culture of diversity, equality, equity and inclusion pursuant to Section 6 of the Diversity Act.”

URGENT: H.B. 6, the “Clean Future Act” by Rep. Nathan Small (D-Doña Ana)

This radical bill would further cripple energy producers in New Mexico by mandating the Environmental Improvement Board adopt rules that would force the reduction of “greenhouse gas emissions.” 

“by 2030, statewide direct emissions of greenhouse gases shall not exceed fifty percent of 2005 levels; and by 2050, total statewide greenhouse gas emissions shall achieve at least net-zero emissions; provided that total statewide direct emissions of greenhouse gases shall not exceed ten percent of 2005 levels in 2050 or any subsequent year,” the bill reads. The bill is supported by enviro-Marxist organizations including the Sierra Club, Olé, ProgressNow New Mexico, among others.

H.M. 38 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING STUDY by Rep. Andrea Romero (D-Santa Fe)

This bill would enshrine Critical Race Theory into police departments across the state, citing its attempt to bring “CULTURALLY AND SOCIALLY RELEVANT RESPONSES TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS” to the force. 

The supposed “training needs” cited in the bill will study the implementation of training “regarding culturally relevant responses to emergency situations involving law enforcement officers and firefighters, the need for trauma informed training related to sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking and the need for a better understanding of the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer populations in our state.”

Although House memorials do not include appropriations, the study proposed in H.B. 38 will be funded through the backdoor, according to the fiscal impact report, which reads:

“The House Appropriations and Finance Committee substitute for House Bill 2 includes a $250 thousand nonrecurring appropriation from the general fund for a job task analysis for law enforcement officers statewide, which will inform the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy’s curriculum. Studying the issues identified in this memorial could align with that work. HB2 also includes a $892.8 thousand nonrecurring appropriation from the general fund to increase state police advanced training initiatives and a $140 thousand recurring general fund appropriation to establish a law enforcement assisted diversion (LEAD) program within state police. Legislative update: Dems trying to ram through pro-election fraud bill through backdoor

On Friday, it was revealed that Speaker Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe) and the radical House Democrats, desperate to push scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s agenda cross the finish line, will be attempting to amend S.B. 144, a previously two-page bill that passed the senate regarding the intimidation of election workers.

The amendments would install radical pro-election fraud language contained in S.B. 8 to S.B. 144 despite the purpose and title of the bill being different than the proposed amendments — a violation of House rules. The amendments would be worse than the provisions in S.B. 8. Despite S.B. 8’s provisions being added to S.B. 144, S.B. 8 will be heard on the Senate floor at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. It is the first agenda item. According to the title page of the amendments, it includes“REPEALING AND REPLACING THE REGISTRATION AT VOTING LOCATION PRIOR TO VOTING PROVISIONS; PROVIDING THAT INMATES ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE AND REGISTER TO VOTE UPON RELEASE AND CONFORMING A PROVISION RELATING TO RESTORATION OF RIGHTS; REVISING PROVISIONS RELATING TO MONITORED SECURED CONTAINERS; CLARIFYING PROCEDURES FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF VOTED MAILED BALLOTS; ENACTING THE NATIVE AMERICAN VOTING RIGHTS ACT TO PROTECT POLLING PLACE ACCESS AND ADDRESS OTHER ELECTION ISSUES INVOLVING VOTERS ON INDIAN NATION, TRIBAL AND PUEBLO LAND; MAKING TECHNICAL AND CONFORMING CHANGES; AMENDING, REPEALING AND ENACTING SECTIONS OF THE NMSA 1978.”

One major change spotted is that the amendment would take away a perjury charge for knowingly submitting a false ballot This language was stricken: “​​then complete the form on the reverse of the official mailing envelope [which shall include a statement by the voter under penalty of perjury that the facts stated in the form are true and the voter’s name, registration address and year of birth] under the privacy flap.” 

Multiple George Soros-funded out-of-state groups are supporting this radical bill, including the far-left “Center for Civic Policy,” which successfully helped the Legislature ram through partisan legislative and congressional maps to heavily favor Democrats. 

The bill explicitly breaks House Rule 11-4, which reads as follows:

The subject of every bill shall be clearly expressed in its title, and no bill embracing more than one subject shall be passed, except general appropriation bills and bills for the codification or revision of the laws. General appropriation bills shall embrace nothing but appropriations for the expense of the executive, legislative and judiciary departments, interest, sinking fund, payment of the public debt, public schools and other expenses required by existing laws. All other appropriations shall be made by separate bills.

S.B. 144 was originally scheduled to be heard in the House Judiciary Committee, but since the floor session went well past 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, the revised House schedule shows the Judiciary Committee is no longer meeting, although the Piñon Post remains on high alert for any movement on this bill. 

In the meantime, New Mexicans are urged to call and email legislators who sit on the House Judiciary Committee and demand they reject any amendment to S.B. 144 that would chance the purpose of the bill.

Bad actors are attempting to change S.B. 144 to far exceed its original intention and title from “AMENDING THE CRIME OF INTIMIDATION TO INCLUDE ACTS AGAINST ELECTIONS OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE, COUNTY CLERKS AND MUNICIPAL CLERKS,” to now deal with broad subjects regarding the administration of elections. This change proposed in amendment 222675.1 is a grave violation of House Rule 11-4:

“The subject of every bill shall be clearly expressed in its title, and no bill embracing more than one subject shall be passed, except general appropriation bills and bills for the codification or revision of the laws. Therefore, the addition of Amendment 222675.1, if passed by the House Judiciary Committee, would be a grave violation of House rules. Its passage will lead for this piece of legislation, in its entirety, to be subject to litigation — resulting in it being stricken down. 

Reject Amendment 222675.1 to save the state from costly litigation and from the negative implications passage of such a radical amendment would cause.

Legislative update: Recall, enviro-Marxist bills have Friday hearings

On Thursday, the House Appropriations and Finance Committee tabled a radical Democrat bill, H.B. 9, by Rep. Pamelya Herndon (D-Bernalillo) H.B. 9 is a radical anti-gun bill that would mandate citizens to lock up their guns, imposing a cost burden on New Mexicans.

Reps. Patricia Lundstrom (D-McKinley and San Juan), Allison (D-San Juan), Harry Garcia (D-Bernalillo, Cibola, McKinley, Socorro, San Juan, and Valencia), Ambrose Castellano (D-San Miguel, Santa Fe, and Torrance), and Candie Sweetser (D-Grant, Hidalgo, Luna) voted with the Republicans on the Committee to table the bill.

The Senate Finance Committee passed 6-5 Michelle Lujan Grisham’s radical pro-election fraud S.B. 8, which allows for unsecured drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and other corrosive measures that some opponents said would “turn New Mexico into the wild west of voter fraud.” Democrat Sen. George Muñoz, the chairman of the committee, voted with all the Republicans against the bill.

It now goes before the full Senate for consideration. Democrat Leader Peter Wirth (D-Santa Fe) promised during the Thursday committee that the bill would not go to the Senate floor on Friday. Therefore, New Mexicans must lookout for a possible Saturday vote on the bill. Contact your senator by finding them here to oppose S.B. 8. 

The House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee passed H.B. 43 on a 3-2 vote. It would allow youths who are sentenced for violent crimes, including murder, to be released in 15 years despite life sentences. State Rep. Liz Thomson (D-Bernalillo) voted for it despite victims of violent crime “begging” her not to support it. Reps. Joanne Ferrary (D-Bernalillo) and Andrea Romero (D-Santa Fe) both supported the radical bill while Reps. Stefani Lord (R-Sandia Park) and Randall Pettigrew (R-Lea) voted against it.

H.J.R. 2, the “Environmental Rights” amendment by Reps. Joanne Ferrary (D-Doña Ana) and Tara Lujan (D-Santa Fe)

This radical bill would enshrine “environmental rights” in the New Mexico Constitution, which would, in effect, put the final nail in the energy industry’s coffin — the fund which provides for most state funds for hospitals and schools, not to mention jobs. H.J.R. 12, RECALL OF ELECTED OFFICIALS, CA, by Reps. Stefani Lord (R-Sandia Park) and Randall Pettigrew (R-Lea).

The bill would allow recall of public officers in the executive and legislative branches of government. 

In its previous committee, the bill had 13-2 support by members of the public, with 87% of attendees voting in support of the bill in a poll. 

The resolutions ultimately passed with Rep. Daymon Ely’s (D-Corrales) support. It will be heard on Friday in the House Judiciary Committee at 1:30 following other bills. It is unclear if the committee will get to it Friday.
