Dems ram through near-total firearm ban at the Roundhouse during closed-door meeting

On Monday, the Legislative Council, made up of majority Democrat members of the New Mexico House and the Senate, voted for a near-total ban of guns at the Roundhouse.

According to the Legislative Council’s Raúl Burciaga, the new policy will take effect on December 6, the opening of the special session to approve redistricting maps.

During the meeting, Republicans’ questions went unanswered about the policy while Democrats attempted to ram it through without debate.

That led Republicans to ask each other questions about the proposed policy and attempt to add amendments to it.

On only one of their amendments regarding “permittees” to have an ability to carry concealed in the Roundhouse, for bipartisan support from Sen. George Muñoz (D-Gallup), although the amendment still died on a vote of 7-6.

“I think your idea of capitol security is valid and we should address it, but we should not address it in this matter,” Rep. James Townsend said. “We should do it with forethought and it should be for capitol security, not for someone to take a shot at the Second Amendment.”

“The New Mexico State Capitol is the people’s building and we should have the right to bear arms and have weapons to protect ourselves,” Rep. Rebecca Dow said. “It’s just another example of the people in power having no understanding of the Constitution, no regard to our process, or any understanding of what the everyday New Mexican does and lives and believes.”

At one point, Speaker Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe) attempted to claim he supports Second Amendment rights, while Senate Majority Leader Peter Wirth (D-Santa Fe) agreed, although they supported the radical anti-gun measure to strip most guns from law-abiding citizens and legislators.

Then, Egolf claimed “no rights are absolute,” in a strange tangent.

The policy will also add metal detectors and other measures to the Capitol’s security plan, in the apparent attempt at quelling First Amendment rights and keeping conservatives from the premises of the Roundhouse, despite New Mexico not having gun issues whatsoever in previous sessions.

After the Legislative Council service rammed the policy through in the closed-door process with absolutely no public comment, anti-police Rep. Liz Thomson (D-Bernalillo), who does not sit on the committee, retweeted a post about police officers retiring in New York, which read, “Something good came out of” the pandemic.

Rep Stefani Lord (R-Tijeras) wrote following the vote, “And just like that…. You just lost your Second Amendment right to carry a firearm in the roundhouse, even with a concealed carry permit.”

Piñon Post demands Dems speak out amid MLG groping scandal or they are complicit

On Monday, Piñon Post editor John Block sent a letter to high-ranking New Mexico Democratic Party officials and lawmakers demanding accountability for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s alleged groping of multiple men, including that of James Hallinan, which resulted in her paying him $150,000 in hush money.

The Piñon Post is calling for high-ranking officials, including legislative, congressional, statewide, and Democratic Party of New Mexico leaders, to denounce Lujan Grisham or else they are complicit in perpetuating sexual violence.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo faced bipartisan pushback against his alleged sexual abuse, of which he never paid off his accusers like Lujan Grisham. But Lujan Grisham said regarding Cuomo in March 2021, “I’m, frankly, in that group of elected leaders, that you believe the individual, you give real credit and credibility there, if you don’t, we are revictimizing brave men and women who come forward.”

The Piñon Post is demanding Lujan Grisham live by her own standard and not revictimize these men who have accused her by remaining in office to perpetuate more violence upon the people of New Mexico.

“New Mexico Democrats must hold Michelle Lujan Grisham accountable or else they, too are complicit in covering up sexual assault victims’ voices,” said Block.

“There is absolutely no excuse — not one — to justify the governor’s depraved behavior and her subsequent gagging of accusers with hush-money payments from her campaign account. New Mexico Democrats must bravely stand up against Michelle Lujan Grisham and call for her immediate resignation,” he added. “The time for action is now.”

Leftist groups caught offering $50 bribes for testimony backing partisan redistricting maps

On Tuesday, it was reported that the Center for Civic Policy (CCP), a billionaire George Soros-funded far-left group, as well as one other, was bribing New Mexicans with $50/each to testify on behalf of the organization’s radical partisan maps, which gerrymander Republicans into the extreme minority.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, “Kathleen Sabo, executive director of New Mexico Ethics Watch, said Monday her agency received copies of emails sent to some New Mexicans from both the Center for Civic Policy and NAVA Education Project.”

“In both cases, representatives for those organizations offered $50 stipends to help citizens attend the meetings in person and testify in favor of what they call the ‘People’s Map’ — which would reformat state congressional boundaries by creating a new district with a Hispanic voting population majority,” read the report.

The so-called “People’s Map” is an ultra-partisan redo of New Mexico’s current congressional and legislative maps. The maps would gerrymander Albuquerque’s South Valley into the Second Congressional District, segregating it from the rest of Albuquerque. Then, the First District would wander east all the way to Roswell, while half of Hobbs would be chopped up into the Third District, which would snake all the way up to Española and Santa Fe.

Sabo called the bribes to constituents for testimony “concerning.”

But Elizabeth Cuna, the campaign manager for the CCP claimed “such financial support efforts ensure impoverished residents and people of color — who may not have equal access or opportunity — can make their voices heard at events that may affect their lives.” However, the meetings were available to attend via Zoom and the portal for testimony was online, for anyone to access.

Still, Cuna says, “The stipend amount is moral,” adding, “It is a practice that should be encouraged, should be embraced.” Apparently, bribing voters to advocate for heavily partisan maps (the exact opposite of the Citizens Redistricting Committee’s purpose), is “moral” to the far-left extremists.

Melanie Majors, executive director of the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government, asked, “You could attend these meetings virtually, so why would anybody need a stipend to attend it?”

Edward Chávez, the supposed unbiased voice of the Citizens Redistricting Committee ran cover for the dark money organization, saying, “I don’t think these people are showing up and testifying just because they were paid.”

The final maps proposed to the New Mexico Legislature are to be voted on this Friday, October 15. New Mexicans are encouraged to submit their comments against these extreme CCP maps through the Redistricting Committee’s portal. More information can be found here.

Keller, top Dems buck mandate, spotted maskless at indoor wedding reception

According to posts on Facebook from Democrat Bernalillo County City Clerk Linda Stover, Democrat Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller was spotted with her and others at a maskless indoor wedding reception for Kristal Martinez-Ibarra and Shaun Peña, a graphic designer.

The photos posted on Stover’s wall show Stover embracing Keller and posing with Albuquerque City Council President Cynthia Borrego — all maskless. Shaun Peña is the son of Klarissa Peña, who is also a city councilor. Also in attendance were Steven Michael Quezada, a Democrat Bernalillo County Commissioner, and state Sen. Linda Lopez (D-Bernalillo).

When challenged on Facebook over the maskless event, Stover claimed, “[W]e were all vaccinated – [D]on’t jump so quickly to try and make a nice moment look bad.”

The commenter responded, writing, “[U]nfortunately regardless of vaccination status state and local mandates say masks are to be worn indoors in public places. Just sick of seeing politicians make rules fo[r] everyone but themselves.”

The Facebook commenter’s concerns are accurate, as Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s health mandate requires masks to be worn at all times indoors except when actively eating or drinking. Keller’s own mandate requires the same, writing:

“[A]ll individuals age 2 years and older shall wear a mask or multilayer cloth face covering in all indoor public settings except when eating or drinking.”

The maskless wedding reception is in direct violation of these rules that all New Mexicans are forced to live by, except evidently Democrat politicians, who have bucked the mandates.

Previously, the Piñon Post exclusively uncovered photos showing Deb Haaland previously held a maskless indoor wedding at the Hyatt Tamaya resort last month. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham refused to comment on Haaland’s wedding. It is unclear if Lujan Grisham attended or had surrogates attend the wedding reception where Keller and other top New Mexico officials met.

Keller is running for reelection against Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales and radio show host Eddy Aragon.

Democrats hell-bent on raiding the rainy day fund to spend on socialism

Radical Democrats in the Legislature are hell-bent on spending as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time as they cling onto power in the House, Senate, and Governor’s Mansion as the 2022 elections are just right around the corner.

According to a report from the Albuquerque Journal, Democrats are furious that New Mexicas would dare save money in the rainy day fund instead of spending it on socialism, such as the socialist“free” (taxpayer-funded) daycare slush fund passed by the Legislature, which will be appearing on the ballot in 2022 via a constitutional amendment.

“That fund is getting pretty big, and I think we need to take a look as a Legislature at how it’s structured,” Far-left House Majority Leader Javier Martínez, (D-Bernalillo), said during a legislative committee hearing last week. Martínez took over after former Majority Leader Sheryl Williams Stapleton resigned in disgrace following a decades-long corruption investigation.

Extremist partisan Democrat Rep. Moe Maestas (D-Bernalillo) claimed, “Money sitting in an account is actually counterproductive to the future of our state.” But in a financial crisis, the state’s rainy day fund could save New Mexico from economic catastrophe. Democrats do not care.

The Journal reports that scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham “has not announced her administration’s final plan for using $1.7 billion in federal relief funds, although some of that money has been earmarked for restoring New Mexico’s largely depleted unemployment fund and temporarily boosting wage levels for chile field workers.”

On the Governor’s and the Democrat Legislature’s watch, New Mexicans have been plunged into poverty, over 40% of small businesses that once existed in our state are now closed, and alarmist pandemic health orders have been reimplemented, further crippling the state’s already frail economy.

Dems politicize ABQ school shooting, use slain boy’s name as vehicle for anti-gun bill

A school shooting on Friday at Washington Middle School in Albuquerque took the life of 13-year-old Bennie Hargrove by another student, Juan Saucedo. According to reports, Hargrove told Saucedo to stop bullying another boy, which may have led to Saucedo taking out his anger with violence.

The horrific shooting of Hargrove, despite New Mexicans from across political lines mourning his death, has sparked an opportunity for Democrats to use the shooting for political purposes.

State Sen. Antoinette Sedillo-Lopez (D-Bernalillo) sponsored an extreme anti-gun bill, S.B. 224, during the 2021 Legislative Session that would have criminalized parents for teaching their children how to shoot and brought misdemeanor charges for not locking up all guns in the house.

The extreme bill was met with backlash from across the country. The New Mexico Shooting Sports Association said of the bill that it was “entirely unenforceable, unless police will go door-to-door inspecting firearm storage in your home, it is impossible to know who is and who isn’t complying with the law. The bill [is] entirely unnecessary, it is already a crime to place a child in a situation that endangers their life. This bill only seeks to demonize firearm ownership and scare people away from choosing to protect their family with a gun.”

But the gaping holes in her anti-gun bill, which was not passed into law in 2021, did not deter Sedillo-Lopez from using the tragedy at Washington Middle School to her advantage.

She told KOB 4 in a television interview, “Right now the parent has no legal consequence for allowing that gun to be available to the 13-year-old, my wish is the parent would have understood that by law the firearm should have been secured, and it wouldn’t have happened at all.”

“That child [Saucedo] needed help and so a combination of gun safety legislation and more importantly behavioral health could have prevented this,” Sedillo-Lopez said, adding regarding the next legislative session, “Maybe the Governor would consider putting on her call. I don’t know that this was on her radar. Hopefully, this [shooting] will get it (S.B. 224) on the radar and so we can see some action.”

But the Albuquerque-area legislator did not mention that there is no evidence available right now regarding how Saucedo obtained the weapon he used to kill Hargrove. Her conclusion came so taht she could apparently politicize the tragedy. KOB reported that there are “talks” of reintroducing the bill as “Bennie’s Law,” using the slain child’s name as a vehicle to ram through the extreme anti-gun legislation.

Bodycam released of police serving disgraced ex-Rep. Williams Stapleton search warrant

On July 18, 2021, former Representative and Democrat floor leader Sheryl Williams Stapleton had officers at her home executing a search warrant for her alleged involvement with a years-long fraud scheme where she is accused of racketeering, money laundry, and graft through the Albuquerque Public Schools. One of the companies alleged to have benefitted from the corruption scheme is “Robotics,” a Washington, D.C.-based company run by her associate.

Now, “ABQ Raw” has uncovered the bodycam footage from an officer who helped execute the warrant at Williams Stapleton’s Albuquerque home. At the home, Stapleton can be seen exiting the house in a blue nightgown where outside are parked what appear to be five cars, four of them being Volvos.

“I need to know what’s going on,” Williams Stapleton said to one of the officers.

The officer replied, “We’ll explain everything to you very soon.”

“A search warrant?” asked Williams Stapleton. When the officer told her she had to stay outside, Williams Stapleton asked, “With all these police?”

“Oh my God. You have all these police for a search warrant?” Another woman came out of the house, saying she didn’t know what was going on. Williams Stapleton replied, “I don’t know what they are [looking] for either.”

She asked a female officer, “IRS? You’re the IRS?” Then the unidentified woman asked for face masks.

A male agent is then seen speaking to Williams Stapleton, handing her what appears to be the search warrant and the affidavit for the search warrant, telling her “In there describes all the information concerning the information that APS (Albuquerque Public Schools) provided us… [inaudible] to Robotics. So, myself and we also have federal agents here with us today as well. They are investigating, of course, the, you know, everything that’s going on in Washington, D.C. concerning…”

Stapleton jumped in, asking, “Robotics?” She added, “What does Robotics have to do with… I do do the program. But I don’t have anything to do with anything in Washington.”

The agent said, “Well, that’s something that we can discuss. And again, the job right now, is to make sure the house is safe and everything else is… and we can talk inside where it’s more comfortable if you wish.”

The video reveals a stunned Williams Stapleton who appeared to try to distance herself from Robotics and its Washington, D.C. operations, which she called a “program.” More information will come out in the coming days through an exclusive Piñon Post report on Williams Stapleton’s alleged graft.

NM Democrats push for socialist ‘guaranteed basic income’ proposal

This week, state lawmakers in the Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee heard a presentation on “guaranteed basic income,” a socialist proposal that would aim to reduce “income inequality” by specifically giving “free money” to “financially fragile constituents.” Unlike universal basic income (UBI), guaranteed basic income specifically takes from the haves and gives to the have nots instead of giving all people regardless of income level a check that is taken from tax dollars.

“It did send shockwaves throughout the legislature,” state Rep. Moe Maestas (D-Bernalillo) said. “It’s something that I think we should move forward with and consider doing.”

According to KOB 4, Maestas says, “Ideally, the state would pay $2 to $3 million for a pilot program next year, and then expand it two to three years down the road if all goes well.” Maestas added that New Mexico could be sending out monthly checks to 50,000 to 100,000 residents in the state.

However, state Rep. Larry Scott (R-Lea) said he had many “reservations” about the “free” money proposal, which he said would cause the state to spend “more than we can afford” on welfare programs.

The socialist proposal has been implemented in places like Stockton, California, and in Hawaii, far-left communities, which have had problems with poverty. It does not appear the free checks have helped.

The fringe far-left extremist Rep. Javier Martinez who is racist against white people was recently elected to be the Democrats’ majority floor leader after former Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton was caught up in a federal corruption scandal.

He has long been a proponent of the socialist “universal basic income” agenda, writing in 2019, “It’s time to start the conversation about a universal basic income.”

In the heat of the pandemic in March 2020, Martinez said, “Universal healthcare and universal basic income would really be useful in a time like this.”

Now, with Martinez at the helm, it could mean the socialist guaranteed basic income agenda may be seen in the 2022 30-day legislative session.

Meet the Democrats’ new racist NM House floor leader

On Tuesday, it was announced by the House Democrats that their caucus had elected far-left “social impact lawyer” state Rep. Javier Martinez (D-Bernalillo) to be their next floor leader succeeding former Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton (D-Bernalillo) being caught up in a large corruption investigation, resulting in her resignation.

Martinez previously ran for floor leader but was unsuccessful. This time, the race-obsessed state representative won the support of his caucus, which has shifted far to the right over recent years.

Martinez is known for his harsh criticism of Republican policies, his support for far-left policies, such as abortion up-to-birth, the anti-police agenda, the “Green New Deal,” and higher taxes. Martinez also supports disrespecting the American flag.

He also advocated for raiding the state’s Land Grant permanent fund for socialist policies. Martinez claimed the state is “racist” not for doing so sooner, writing, “Years of policies that uphold historically racist systems like..failures 2 invest land grant fund in youngest kids, failures 2 build water systems in communities w/out, failures 2 build an economy that works for ALL..are big part of reason why #Covid19 is hitting us the hardest.”

Martinez believes in racist ideals, including that “one cannot be racist against White people,” which delegitimizes and silences the voices of white people in the state. If his sentiment was reversed and he said, “one cannot be racist against Black people” or “one cannot be racist against Hispanic people,” it would be very much a racist statement.

This makes Martinez the second openly racist floor leader the party has chosen, with Sheryl Williams Stapleton disparaging Mexican Americans, calling the former Gov. Susana Martinez “the Mexican on the fourth floor,” which she was forced to apologize for saying.

Martinez supports illegal aliens being teachers in schools and socialist universal basic income.

“I look forward to the increased responsibility and opportunity of this role to move our caucus, Legislature, and state forward in a way that’s truly representative of New Mexico’s diverse communities,” said Martinez after being elected Democrat House floor leader.

MLG’s spokeswoman, Dem state rep. mock New Mexicans concerned about child health

On Tuesday, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s press secretary Nora Sackett once again teamed up with state Rep. Liz Thomson (D-Bernalillo) to mock New Mexicans — this time regarding children’s health.

On July 9, the legal group New Mexico Stands Up! has been delivering cease and desist letters to over 1,200 local superintendents, school boards, and school principles, as well as a cease and desist order to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham demanding “an immediate end to ALL

school and athletics mask requirements, under threat of legal action.”

“These illegal mask mandates are putting NM children at threat of imminent harm. NM kids are suffering from blackouts, vomiting, breathing problems, dizziness, nosebleeds, and other health problems as a result of the forced masking. Masks have Emergency Use Authorization only, and thus mask mandates violate Federal law. We will seek to hold any state or local school officials personally liable for injuries or harms that occur as a result of these mask mandates,” said attorney Ana Garner, who is representing dozens of NM parents on behalf of NM Stands Up!

But the Governor’s office appears to not take too kindly to these letters, with the Governor’s press secretary snarkily writing on Twitter, “How are people this confused about what a cease and desist letter is.”

State Rep. Liz Thomson added fodder to Sackett’s comment, writing, “Low iq voters?  That tfg was so proud of?” By “tfg,” Thomson appears to be meaning “the former guy,” an acronym adopted by far-left extremists on social media.

But New Mexicans responded to Sackett and Thomson’s little hatefest, with conservative activist Marcie May writing, “Seems that you’re confused about elected officials constitutional limitations. Other states get it. But New Mexico thrives on lagging behind because we have a governor who is so full of herself that she can’t bear to not be in control of everybody’s every breath. Not her job!”

Sackett and Thomson previously mocked New Mexicans hesitant to get the inoculation, sharing a graphic of someone asking if their Facebook friends will take the vaccine. Sackett commented, “I’m crying but also I want to die,” adding in a subsequent tweet, “Also there is like a not insignificant chance these are New Mexicans I swear to god.”

Thomson wrote, “Yikes. Some education is obviously in order. Unfortunately, all of the disinformation is rampant and strong.”
