Ben Ray chickens out of TV debates — GOP opponent Mark Ronchetti wipes the floor with him

On Tuesday, Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate in New Mexico, Rep. Ben Ray Lujan agreed to only one debate with his Republican opponent, Mark Ronchetti on KOAT and one forum which will be sponsored by a “liberal front group” on KNME, according to Ronchetti’s campaign. In recent history, U.S. Senate candidates in New Mexico held at least three televised debates on the three major networks (KOB 4, KOAT 7, and KRQE 13).

Ronchetti said, “I want the voters of New Mexico to hear what I stand for. Ben Ray thinks he is entitled to the Senate seat and doesn’t want to explain a voting record that is out of touch with New Mexico.”

“Serving as a U.S. Senator is an honor,” continued Ronchetti. “The people of this state deserve to see us exchange ideas and I’m ready to do that on all of our major media outlets before ballots go out. It’s important that as many voters as possible can hear from both of us, so they can make an informed decision for this election. I welcome the opportunity to share my positions with all of the voters in New Mexico.”

Ben Ray Luján is well-known for his closeness to far-left Democrats, namely, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who created the title of “Assistant Speaker” for him to boost his prestige in the Democrat Party.

During just this campaign cycle, Luján has preyed on seniors, falsely claiming their Social Security and Medicare will be slashed, he voted on the partisan impeachment of President Trump along with all his colleagues in the New Mexico delegation, he got the endorsements of abortion up-to-birth and infanticide groups, he mocked Latino Trump voters and praised racist Al Sharpton. He also exploited the Coronavirus to raise campaign cash and repeatedly lied about his record in the U.S. House, falsely claiming President Trump signed his bill.

Luján has not passed a single bill of his own into law, which Ronchetti’s campaign manager, Jeff Glassburner, blasted him for, saying, “I don’t blame Ben Ray for hiding from the debates, because he knows he has to hide his far-left, extremist, D.C. record. He spent over a decade climbing Nancy Pelosi’s ladder while never passing even one bill into law.”

“Ben Ray Luján represents everything that is wrong with politics. He is a career politician who has sold out New Mexico, and now wants to hide from voters.”

Luján has been virtually absent from his sprawling northern New Mexico district, not even bothering to show up on Election Night 2018, opting to instead stay with Nancy Pelosi in the Washington, D.C. swamp to watch election results roll in for his far-left friends in his party. For a man who holds a safe Democrat +8 seat, he doesn’t really need to campaign that hard, so he doesn’t. That same mindset appears to show up in his Senate run, but judging by his record, a promotion to the upper chamber of Congress would not be in the cards for Luján.

Democrat NM Rep: ‘Who said the shut down was only supposed to be temporary?’

On Sunday, far-left New Mexico state Rep. Angelica Rubio (D-Las Cruces), made startling comments on Facebook targeting small businesses — specifically restaurants — for their alleged “blatant disregard for workers justice” [sic].

In her post, she singled out restaurant owner Marci Dickerson of Las Cruces’ “The Game” sports bar and grill, who showed her “true colors YEARS ago.” Dickerson’s restaurant will be participating in the New Mexico Restaurant Association’s protest, happening at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, which will include employees of each restaurant affected standing outside their establishment and holding up a sign with the number of employees hurt by the Governor’s latest lockdown.

Apparently Dickerson’s support for her employees led Rubio to stop supporting any small business that looks to defy Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s latest re-lockdown of the state, which bans restaurants from indoor dining and limits them to only 50% occupancy outdoors. The Governor’s order is estimated to force the permanent closure of 20% of New Mexico restaurants, according to the New Mexico Restaurant Association.

Rubio did not appear to care that small businesses would be closing and thousands of staff members would lose their jobs. She wrote, “👏🏽 restaraunt’s [sic] 👏🏽 are 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 ‘essential’ 👏🏽 for the 👏🏽 purpose 👏🏽 of fighting a 👏🏽 global 👏🏽 pandemic! 👏🏽.” She continued, “I’ll continue to not support, nor any other business—who supports this catastrophic disregard for public health and safety of our community. I ask you all to do the same. Wow!”

In response to a commenter who was appalled by her disregard for the workers affected by the health order, which was supposed to be temporary, Rubio shot back, “Who said the shut down was only supposed to be temporary?” The comment appears to be an endorsement of the permanent lockdown of New Mexico, but Rubio did not elaborate on her radical-sounding sentiments.

Multiple constituents, many of them being Democrats wrote back to her in anger, one commentator saying, “[g]ood to know your views on business owners…. I’ll make sure to never vote for you and encourage others not to. You obviously care very little for your community… Way to go.”

Another person wrote, “Every job is essential to families relying on their paychecks. What a shameful post to make tearing down the very businesses you should instead be helping. We will remember this when you are up for re-election.”

Others’ comments mimicked these sentiments, including support for Dickerson. One comment read, “Personally attacking a business owner during a time of crisis incredibly unprofessional. This is a poor example of leadership in a time where we need unity more than ever. I encourage you to take emotions out of this and see what Marci Dickerson has done for the community while we were shut down. While it may not be essential to you, it is to 96,400 people who are employed in the state by restaurant and food service.”

According to New Mexico Restaurant Association CEO Carol Wight, the re-lockdown is going to be much harder on restaurants than the previous one. “Last time we had PPP money, we had ways to get open, we had some savings left. We have no more savings,” she said. “Our inventory – we’ve got fresh inventory right now we’ve got to get through and three days is not enough. So what are we going to do, right? We’re all just throwing our hands up saying, ‘What can we do?’”

After public fury on Rubio’s timeline, she shared her previous post with a long-winded comment saying, “I hope that the passion you had today, to defend those willing to go against Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and her attempts to keep us safe and alive, you’ll do the same for workers come January. I’ll be taking note.” In January, the New Mexico Legislature will reconvene, where Rubio will no doubt propose more far-left legislation, as she has in the past.

In crippling blow to Dems and RINOs, Trump stands by cowboys slandered by fake news lies

Early Thursday morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to show his support for New Mexico-grown group, Cowboys for Trump (C4T) as they are battling fake news lies from the leftist media, socialist Democrats, and RINOs (Republicans in Name Only).

Last week, Democrats decried statements taken out of context by C4T leader and Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin, which they claimed threatened the lives of Democrats. The seven-second, deceptively edited clip left out Griffin’s full statement, in which he immediately explained he was not threatening Democrats physically, but politically.

Some of the Leftists and RINOs who decried the statements included socialist U.S. Rep. Deb Haaland, Democrat New Mexico Speaker of the House of Representatives Brian Egolf, anti-Trump and anti-GOP lawyer A. Blair Dunn, who is representing the Democrat Party of Otero County in a frivolous lawsuit against Griffin, a fake “Republican” group lauded by socialist Democrats, and others.

Cowboys for Trump’s tweet included a video of Griffin’s full statement with its full context, in response to a fake news leftist article written by The Daily Beast, claiming Griffin wanted “Democrats to die.” That claim is patently false.

The President’s tweet to C4T reads, “Thank you Cowboys. See you in New Mexico!” The message from the Commander-in-Chief is sure to trigger the many leftist and RINO detractors looking to take down the pro-Trump organization and its leader as they ride across the country in support of the Second Amendment, the Right to Life, and opening up America.

The tweet also gives a signal that the President still has his eye on flipping New Mexico red in November and that he plans to come back for more rallies before the election.

The ‘New Mexico Way’ is passé

It happened one afternoon just prior to the 2018 elections. I customarily listen to the Rock of Talk radio program hosted by Eddy Aragon on KIVA 93.7 FM/ AM 1600. On this particular afternoon I was introduced to a phenomenon I was totally unaware of. This phenomenon is known as the “New Mexico Way.”

Eddy received a call from someone who seemed cogent and in-control of his faculties. As the conversation continued, Eddy started asking probing questions of this gentleman’s choice for the upcoming elections. One particular answer has stuck with me all of this time. When asked why this gentleman was going to vote Democrat, he responded that he voted the way he did because it’s the “New Mexico Way.” During the rest of his conversation with Eddy, he added that he didn’t research candidates running for office. Rather, he simply voted for Democrats because his parents did, and his grandparents did, and on, and on.

My question is, when did this phenomenon take root in New Mexico? We have had to stand by and watch Democrat regimes promise much and deliver little for over eight decades. What magic spell has been cast upon New Mexicans in our land of enchantment? Is it the water? The altitude? Could it be that the Democrat secret sauce has more to do with deception and empty promises rather than a deep and abiding concern for the citizens of New Mexico? It would seem that we are asleep and putting our trust and faith in the politicians we elect.

No more! We are not few in number. We must unite to carefully and thoughtfully elect conservative candidates who will work with President Trump to make New Mexico great once and for all! We must effort to awaken those who claim to be “woke,” whatever that means. We can all hope and pray for a positive outcome, but as Eddy says, you must put feet to your faith. Go and spread the good news to all men. Do it with the fervency of an evangelist! Brothers and sisters, quit asking yourselves why you are here. You were born for such a time as this.

Bill Arroyo is first and foremost a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has a BA (Biblical attitude), an MA (His Master’s in anointing), and a Ph.D. (Prophet’s heavenly duty). He has garnered much of his knowledge through his dedication to church and community. He is a normal citizen who wants the best for his city, state, and nation. He longs for the day when New Mexico sheds its poverty mentality and steps into a position of prosperity and greatness in the United States.

Haaland uses out-of-context clip to attempt removal of Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin

On Tuesday, Democrat U.S. Rep. Deb Haaland (NM-01) shared a 7-second snippet of Cowboys for Trump leader and Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin’s speech over the weekend, where he discussed the need to flip Democrat seats back to Republican in November.

During the speech, Griffin said, “I’ve come to a place where I’ve come to the conclusion that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat. I don’t say that in the physical sense and I can already see the videos being edited where it says I want to go murder Democrats. No, I say that in the political sense because the Democrat agenda and policy is anti-American right now. Our country is not coming to a place if you love or hate Donald Trump. Our country is coming to a place if you love or hate America because that’s what it’s boiling down to. But as far as Democrats go, you have some great conservative candidates…. The only reason I said the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat — I’m saying it politically speaking, and I’m saying it because we need to have majorities in the House and the Senate. It’s the only way we’re going to put the brakes on an out-of-control governor. Sometimes, you have to hit very rock bottom in order to make a change. It can happen in our own personal lives, it happens in community, but it also happens in government right now.”

The video shared by left-wing activist and graduate of the Democrat training camp “Emerge NM,” Tracy Perry, heavily edits Griffin’s words, just as Griffin predicted in his speech.

Deb Haaland shared the deceptively edited video, writing on Facebook, “Couy Griffin must resign immediately! Commissioner Griffin was filmed speaking at an event this past weekend. His rhetoric was hateful and plain disgusting. Wishing harm upon anyone is just wrong!”

Democrat New Mexico Hosue Speaker Brian Egolf wrote on Twitter, “The County Commissioner’s comment is despicable, indefensible, and un-American.”

Cowboys for Trumps shared the full clip in context on their Facebook page, writing, “We can already see the videos getting edited. Politically speaking only, what’s a good democrat? The democrats will manipulate anything they can to tear America apart. How long will you believe their lies?”

Once again, Democrats are seizing on a benign statement made by a conservative leader and taking it out of context much like what the mainstream media does to President Trump and his words time and time again. Griffing made clear exactly what his statement meant, however, Haaland and left-wing activists won’t pass up an opportunity to try and take down a conservative leader, no matter how low they have to go to do it.

Torres Small thinks Biden should be disqualified from running for president

In September 2018, the Democrat Party of New Mexico sent a letter demanding then-U.S. Senate candidate Mick Rich drop out of the race for dismissing Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s unsubstantiated allegations of sexual assault in 1982 against then-nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

According to the letter co-signed by then-candidate Xochitl Torres Small, “The reality is that our culture of rejecting sexual assault claims will continue as long as people who are in positions of power use their perches to first blame survivors, cast aspersions on their credibility and character, and minimize the trauma they have experienced.”

“We have heard a litany of excuses from ‘it was so long ago,’ to ‘why didn’t she report it?’ and of course, outright dismissals that the incident ever took place,” the letter continued.

Now, Democrat presidential candidate former Vice Presiden Joe Biden faces his own slew of allegations from former U.S. Senate staffer Tara Reade, claiming he penetrated her in 1993. Not only is Reade’s story more credible than Blasey Ford’s in terms of her recollection of the incident, but her claims of sexual assault are also well-documented over decades.

However, Joe Biden is brushing off Reade’s claims, telling MSNBC’s Morning Joe, “No. It is not true. I’m saying unequivocally: It never, never happened. And it didn’t. It never happened.”

Biden was pressed on his response, with host Mika Brzezinski asking, “You were unequivocal in 2018 during the Kavanaugh controversy and hearings that women should be believed. You said this: ‘For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights, the focus nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she is talking about is real. Whether or not she forgets the facts, whether or not it has been made worse or better over time.’ [Reade is] going to be going on national television on Sunday. Tara Reade is coming forward in the glaring lights, to use your words—should we not start off with the presumption that the essence of what she’s talking about is real? She says you sexually assaulted her.”

Biden responded, “Look, from the beginning, I’ve said believing a woman means taking the woman’s claim seriously when she steps forward. And then vet it. Look into it. That’s true in this case as well. Women have a right to be heard, and the press should investigate claims they make. I will always uphold that principle.  But in the end, in every case, the truth is what matters. In this case, the truth is: The claims are false.”

With the claims that have now been unearthed, Biden’s stance has shifted from “believe all women,” to “don’t believe that woman.”

The Piñon Post has reached out on two separate occasions to the Democrat Party of New Mexico and the Office of U.S. Representative Xochitl Torres Small. Neither have given so much as a response, much less a comment.

At the time, the Democrat Party of New Mexico asked “that in the future, he will support survivors rather than contributing to their silence,” concluding with, “We believe that anything short of this disqualifies Mick Rich from representing the people of New Mexico.”

Therefore, due to both parties’ lack of response on this issue, the only reasonable conclusion that can be made is that Torres Small and the Democrat Party of New Mexico stand by their previous letter, and believe Joe Biden should be disqualified from running for president. Biden using his position of power to silence Tara Reade goes against the exact logic used in the 2018 letter.

It is possible Rep. Torres Small does, indeed believe Biden should drop out due to her lack of a public endorsement of Joe Biden for the presidency, being the only member of New Mexico’s congressional delegation not to do so. Torres Small represents New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, which was won by President Trump in 2016 by a margin of 10.2%.

MLG’s strict face mask requirement discriminates against low-income workers, people of color

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who claims to be a supporter of the poor and downtrodden, commanded in her latest edict that “essential workers” must wear masks or face coverings.

According to her edict, “All employees must wear their face coverings in the workplace at all times when in the presence of others.” She made sure to add a condescending statement belittling New Mexicans, many are people of color, saying, “If New Mexicans don’t behave safely, we won’t be able to reopen more than we have. Every single one of us has to do their part.”

The requirement adopted by her and many Democrat governors may disproportionately affect people of color and the poor, who cannot afford face masks. Business owners, many of them owning small businesses, cannot afford to buy face masks, which have become a hot commodity amid the pandemic. It’s difficult to find any at reasonable prices, with some being sold for as much as $20 apiece.

So, who will provide these face masks required by Lujan Grisham’s edict? Small business owners and workers, that’s who. But price gouging is causing low-income individuals to not be able to afford masks. One report states the gouging has caused such a difficult market, allowing “only the more affluent can afford masks.” According to the latest statistics, people working in the restaurant industry were the most common group of low-income workers, 7.76% of the workforce, a group specifically singled out in the Governor’s edict., Also, over half of all jobs (49,249, or 53.0 percent) were held by ethnic minorities.

But regarding a different issue, Voter ID laws that secure American elections, Lujan Grisham claimed that having an ID to vote is “burdensome.” She also said such laws “disproportionately impact poor, elderly, disabled & Americans of color.”

The same tired argument can be made for requiring face masks, and we actually have a case, since a face mask can only be bought from select vendors, they are in low supply, and a burden to obtain. Getting an ID, which is required for everything from checking into a hotel to cashing a check, is not an undue burden.

Lujan Grisham’s discriminatory face mask order not only undermines her credibility as a leader, it hurts small businesses and working families who will have to go out of their ways to obtain face masks. The only people who will be hurt by Lujan Grisham’s requirement are the poor, who she seems to not give two thoughts about.

NM Dems publicly throw support behind Soros’ dark-money group that harbors criminal aliens

On Tuesday, the New Mexico Democrat Party tweeted out support for a dark-money fringe group, “New Mexico Dream Team,” which uses its resources to support criminal aliens illegally existing in the United States.

The group is heavily funded by liberal hedge fund billionaire George Soros, and is umbrellaed under its parent organization “United We Dream,” which is an approved organization of the far-left Democracy Alliance’s “Resistance Map.”

The extremist anti-law enforcement and pro-criminal alien group has been seen trying to disrupt President Donald Trump’s events, most recently at the President’s September Rio Rancho rally. The group has also advocated for the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), organizing against the law enforcement officials.

The New Mexico Democrat Party supported New Mexico Dream Team’s fundraising efforts to harbor criminal aliens in New Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic through direct “monetary assistance to [illegal] families.”

“All New Mexican families deserve assistance during this crisis. We applaud [NM Dream Team] for their important work as we know our community is stronger together,” wrote the Party.

The Democrat Party not only is actively supporting foreign nationals breaking U.S. immigration laws, but they are trying to euphemize these criminal aliens as “New Mexicans families,” which is inaccurate.

Dem NM Rep. inadvertently blames Dems’ 89-year rule of NM for ‘racist systems’ worsening COVID-19

On Monday, far-left state Rep. Javier Martinez (D-Albuquerque) took to Twitter to place blame for the effects of the novel coronavirus on (you guessed it), “racism.”

A typical play by Democrats, Martinez claimed COVID-19 is hitting New Mexico the hardest because of “[y]ears of policies that uphold historically racist systems like..failures 2 invest land grant fund in youngest kids, failures 2 build water systems in communities w/out, failures 2 build an economy that works for ALL.”

However, Martinez does not give any detail about his outrage over “racist systems” with any facts. On the contrary, it does not appear that racism has anything to do with land grant funds going to the state’s “youngest kids,” supposed “failures” to build “water systems” or the vague ability to “build an economy that works for all.”

Paul Gessing, President of the Rio Grande Foundation retweeted the post, writing, “And there you have it, Chair of House Tax in #nmleg arguing that if we weren’t so RACIST that we didn’t tap the permanent fund for pre-K minority groups wouldn’t be as impacted by Coronavirus.”

During the 2020 legislative session, the Legislature passed and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law HB 83, which originally would withdraw 1% from the state’s Land Grant Permanent Fund for pre-kindergarten programs, but the final version of the bill passed by a wide margin in both chambers with .5% extraction from the fund.

New Mexico’s current systems, which have been run by Democrats for over 89 years, is fully in the hands of Democrat lawmakers, not Republicans, and so it appears Martinez is blaming Democrats for his perceived failures in the state. Since 1931, Democrats have had a majority rule over the state legislature and most state offices, so by Martinez’s logic, Democrats are 100% responsible for any “racism” in the current system.

Dems cry ‘voter suppression’ after Dem-majority NM Supreme Court blocks all-mail election

On Tuesday, the New Mexico Supreme Court dealt Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver and the Democrat Party a crippling blow in their attempt to use the COVID-19 pandemic to push for an all mail-in ballot election, despite New Mexico’s ancient voter records.

The Court unanimously sided with the Republican Party of New Mexico, with Chief Justice Judith Nakamura saying, “The relief that is requested is specifically prohibited by New Mexico statute … which says that a mail ballot shall not be delivered by the county clerk to anyone other than the applicant for the ballot.”

The Court found a solution to the pandemic concerns with in-person voting by ruling that the state should send out absentee ballot applications to be filled out and sent back, which both followed current statute and curbs potential for widespread fraud.

A deep-dive from the Public Interest Legal Foundation found countless instances of inconsistencies in the New Mexico voter rolls, with 3,168 registrants flagged with duplicate concerns, 1,681 dead residents, 1,519 voters aged over 100 years old, 64 of which are aged over 120, and 188 registered with a commercial address. — # of Registrations flagged for duplicate concerns: 3,168

The Republican Party of New Mexico hailed the Supreme Court’s decision, writing in a statement, “The court’s refusal to rewrite New Mexico election law—to allow the unsolicited mailing of live ballots as part of an all vote-by-mail (VBM) election–shows the proper respect for the importance of election integrity, even in the face of the challenges posed by COVID-19.”

The hard-left dark money Democrat Party-linked 501c4 nonprofit “ProgressNow NM” bemoaned the Court’s decision to follow written law, claiming “this is a rough day for democracy in New Mexico,” despite the ability of citizens to vote legally with absentee ballot applications.

Secretary of State Toulouse Oliver sent out a statement begrudgingly accepting the decision, saying, “My office will comply with the court’s order and mail absentee ballot applications to all voters registered with a major political party. That’s why it’s important that eligible voters register to vote or update their voter registrations by May 5.”

The Democrat Party of New Mexico sent out a statement once again using the COVID-19 crisis as a pelting board to launch attacks at the Republican Party. The statement claimed the NM GOP is attempting to “suppress the vote,” despite the Party asking for the Court to rule in the bounds of current law.
The New Mexico Supreme Court is made up of four Democrats and one Republican.
