Tim Keller’s ABQ: Four APD officers injured, one in ‘critical’ condition, during robbery

On Thursday, the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) confirmed during a briefing that four officers were injured during a robbery at the Dutch Bros near Mountain and Juan Tabo.

According to KRQE 13, “APD says one officer is in critical condition after taking a bullet to the chest above his vest. The second officer was shot in the arm and is currently in surgery. The third officer was shot in the center of his bulletproof vest. The fourth officer was injured with shrapnel/glass.”

APD now has two possible offenders in custody, according to the Department, which wrote, “APD detectives have the second offender in custody. We do not believe there are other outstanding offenders at this point.”

At around 10:30 a.m., Kennedy Middle School, Jackson Middle School, Chelwood Elementary School, Tomasita Elementary School, McCollum Elementary School, and Manzano High School were in a shelter in place. KRQE noted that at 12:27 p.m., the shelter in place was lifted.

KOB 4 reported, “APD will not be responding to non-emergency calls while the investigation is ongoing. Police have launched an evidence portal for any submissions the public may have.”

During Mayor Tim Keller’s reign, Albuquerque has seen the largest increase in the number of annual homicides in history. His anti-police sentiments and policies appear to have contributed to the rampant crime in the city.

Keller also stood behind radicals in the City Council who passed a resolution aiming at taking away donated tools from the Military to help the Albuquerque Police Department. He also participated in the George Floyd protests in 2020, where he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with

He said, “Under our administration, APD has not received military-style equipment or weapons from this program. Their use is also out of step with our values around community safety. We fully support a formal end to Albuquerque’s participation.”

Following the shooting that injured the four officers, the Republican Party of New Mexico’s executive director Kim Skaggs wrote, “Our hearts go out to these officers and their families, and we hope they fully recover from their wounds.” She added, “We cannot tolerate this violence any longer. We need a conservative mayor who will crack down on this crisis and actually do something to stop this infestation. Democrat-led leaders at the local and state level have refused to take meaningful action or pass laws that punish criminals and keep them off our streets. The next mayor has to move Albuquerque into a new direction—one that protects police and our citizens.”

The officers injured by the shooter include James Eichel Jr., Sgt. Sean Kenny, Officer Harry Gunderson, and Officer Mario Verbeck. Verbeck remains in critical condition, while Kenney has been released from the hospital, according to reports.

Update from a press conference held at UNM Hospital:

The injuries of the officers were released as follows:

One officer was shot at the base of the neck above his bulletproof vest, but was brought into the operating room and was stabilized. He is currently in critical condition.

The Second officer was shot in the chest but protected by a bullet proof vest.

Another officer was shot in forearm and brought to operating room. The officer is stabilized and in stable condition.

The fourth officer had a shrapnel injury to the eye in stable condition.

Anti-life ‘Catholic’ Tim Keller endorsed by abortion up-to-birth group

On Monday, anti-life “Catholic” Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller was endorsed by the abortion up-to-birth group Planned Parenthood, which commits hundreds of thousands of abortions upon innocent children in the womb each year.

Planned Parenthood wrote, “We are thrilled to endorse [Tim Keller] in Albuquerque’s mayoral race. Mayor Keller will fight for our health and our rights — and will work to make sure everyone has access to quality, comprehensive sex education.”

Albuquerque has been known for many years as the abortion capital of the nation, known especially for extreme late-term abortions going past 32 weeks at facilities such as Southwestern Women’s Options.

Keller faces two opponents who have hit the threshold of signatures to get on the ballot, Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales and talk radio host Eddy Aragon.

In a Facebook post in 2019, Keller was overjoyed about a 90% save rate for a local shelter, writing, “A save rate of over 90% is definitely something to wag about. Our Albuquerque Animal Welfare department has worked hard to get to this point and we’re proud to have them on our #OneAlbuquerque team.” But Keller supports full-term abortion and infanticide, the only way he would have earned a Planned Parenthood endorsement.

MLG whines about rising NM crime despite signing anti-police bills, backing ‘defund the police’ groups

On Friday, KOB 4’s Tessa Mentus had an interview with scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, where the Governor complained about crime in New Mexico, especially in Albuquerque. She said the upcoming legislative session in 2022 will focus on crime.

“You want the safest community – that should be the standard in New Mexico. And in addition, Albuquerque and too many other communities in New Mexico are just not safe.”

She said to lawmakers regarding crime, “If you want a priority, make it a priority. And I expect all policymakers to be more engaged in public safety issues statewide. It’s not Albuquerque or… it’s not Santa Fe or…. We got to all do it together.”

She added, “I’m open to any kind of legislative effort that makes a difference in the quality of lives (sic) for New Mexicans, and if that means making us safer, so be it.”

Mentus noted, “But we have seen legislative efforts before at our Roundhouse time and time again, and they go nowhere. Public safety bills get introduced, most of them by Republican lawmakers representing the metro, and they barely make it out of committee. Forget ever seeing them make it to the Governor’s desk.”

When asking how this would be different to the Governor, in a commanding manner, the Governor said, “If I set that tone that this is what I expect, I get it.”

Lujan Grisham added, “I’ve got the votes, and I’ve got bipartisan support.”

But if Lujan Grisham was focused on eliminating crime, she would not have been a staunch supporter of many anti-police bills proposed last legislative session, including H.B. 4, which put targets on peace officers’ backs by stripping them of qualified immunity and opening police departments and localities up to frivolous lawsuits — bankrupting them.

H.B. 4’s sponsors, Speaker Brain Egolf (D-Santa Fe) and state Rep. Georgene Louis (D-Bernalillo), just so happen to be “civil rights” attorneys who would directly profit off of their legislative proposals. Lujan Grisham signed the anti-police, anti-public safety bill anyway.

Lujan Grisham’s allies in the Legislature, such as state Sen. Linda Lopez (D-Bernalillo), sponsored the most extreme anti-police bills in the nation, including S.B. 227, which would have implemented the “strongest” anti-police “use of force” standard in the nation.

Now, Lujan Grisham, amid record-breaking homicide rates in Albuquerque and some New Mexico streets looking like warzones, is trying to save face despite her support for Black Lives Matter protesters who want to defund the police.

And if public safety was such a priority for Lujan Grisham, she would call a special session like she did to implement recreational marijuana in New Mexico.

Tim Keller’s Albuquerque breaks highest annual homicide record ever recorded

According to an August 8, 2021 report from the Albuquerque Journal, Democrat Mayor Tim Keller’s Albuquerque “has had 81 suspected homicides – matching the highest annual total ever recorded in the city.”

A City of Albuquerque crime report from August 9, 2021 shows that there was one more homicide investigation on that day, breaking the city’s annual record with an incident off of Yale Boulevard Southeast.

That same report said that there were three homicides that occurred in the past seven days, with one case from late July being changed to “justifiable homicide.”

“If you just looked at national data, you would still see that murders in total, were higher in the early ’90s than they are now,” Paul Guerin, the director of the University of New Mexico’s Center for Applied Research and Analysis said. “What we’re seeing in Albuquerque is we’re actually seeing a higher number now than we saw in the ’90s.”

The trend in Tim Keller’s Albuquerque follows other Democrat-run cities. According to Charlie Kirk, Albuquerque saw an 81% increase in “murders” since 2020, Austin’s rose 96%, Houston’s 25%, Indianapolis’ 30%, Las Vegas’ 52%, Louisville’s 46%, Los Angeles County’s 82%, Oakland’s 58%, and Portland’s 327%.

The deadly trend in Democrat-run cities shows a troubling spike since the 1990’s, with the Journal report noting “The murder rate in 1996 – when the city had 100,000 fewer residents – was the highest ever recorded, at 16.64 per 100,000 people. In 2021, the rate is 14.41 per 100,000 people, but with 96 killings, or 15 more, Albuquerque would surpass the 1996 rate and reach a rate of 17 homicides per 100,000.”

The homicide rate spike comes as Keller has embraced anti-police sentiments adopted by radical groups, including Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA, which have advocated for “defunding the police.”

Keller has supported these cries to defund law enforcement, with steps to cripple peace officers’ abilities to respond to calls. In June 2020, in the heat of the George Floyd riots, it was reported that Keller would be sending social workers instead of police to respond to certain 911 calls, calling it a “civilian public safety branch.”

Keller denounced police officers, claiming they were not “trained professionals” regarding cases involving child abuse and other issues, saying, “We should have trained professionals do this, instead of folks with a gun and a badge.”

Keller also stood behind radicals in the City Council who passed a resolution aiming at taking away donated tools from the Military to help the Albuquerque Police Department.

He said, “Under our administration, APD has not received military-style equipment or weapons from this program. Their use is also out of step with our values around community safety. We fully support a formal end to Albuquerque’s participation.”

Councilor Lan Sena, who co-sponsored the resolution, claimed, “These equipments (sic) have been on the battlefields and they don’t belong on our streets.” However, Albuquerque now appears to look more and more like a warzone, as homicides and other violent crimes skyrocket.

ABQ commenters overwhelmingly reject Keller’s $50M ‘NM United’ stadium boondoggle

According to a new report released by the Albuquerque Journal, a vast majority of commenters on Democrat Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller’s proposal to have taxpayers fork over $50 million for a new soccer stadium for the privately-owned “New Mexico United” soccer team. The report noted that negative comments on the subject outweighed ones of support 13:1.

According to the Denver-based consulting firm CAA Icon, the stadium would cost between $65 and $70 million.

Commenters chided Keller asking citizens, already hurting from the effects of the pandemic, to shell out more money for another large project, especially one that would pad the bottom line of a handful of wealthy team owners — while doing not much for the city.

One citizen wrote that the idea was “a handout for private industry that adds no value to lives of the everyday people who make up the community.”

Sydney Tellez wrote, “After nearly 17 months of enduring a major public health emergency, massive economic crisis, and exasperating inadequacies of our social programs, it is tone deaf to spend millions of dollars on a new stadium.”

One person wrote that the people who would have the stadium in their backyard wouldn’t even be able to afford a ticket to a game. “As it is many people living in those areas cannot even afford the ticket price to see a United Soccer game,” Mercy Marrujo wrote.

“There is no silver bullet to the problems that plague (Albuquerque), and, even if there were, it would not come in the form of a minor-league soccer stadium. When businesses and storefronts sit empty all across the city, what makes anyone think that plopping a giant stadium in downtown will suddenly bring those businesses back to life or that new ones will suddenly thrive in and around that stadium,” Alex Curtas wrote.

Supposedly moderately conservative City Councilor Brooke Bassan, who is sponsoring the proposal to send the question to voters, told the Journal, “I am definitely questioning whether or not a stadium should be built; however, it is also more reason for me to push forward for putting this on the ballot.”

Others noted how the idea to finance the stadium with taxpayers’ dollars was “reckless,” “thoughtless,” and “egregious.”

However, City Councilor Isaac Benton, also co-sponsoring the bill to bring the proposal to voters, shrugged off the public’s input. The Journal reported that he said, “he does not gauge public sentiment based solely on emailed comments.”

If approved by the City Council, the measure would appear on the ballot on November 2 whether to fund the boondoggle with tax dollars or let the private team finance its own stadium.

Notorious ABQ late-term abortionist moves out-of-state, quits providing abortions

According to the pro-life group Abortion On Trial (AOT), an infamous late-term abortionist, Dr. Shannon Carr, has quit doing abortions at Curtis Boyd’s Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) in Albuquerque. Carr is a well-known defendant in the wrongful death case of abortion victim Keisha Atkins, who died following a botched abortion at SWO.

Carr is known from a 2015 documentary called “The Provider,” which followed her as she traveled for work from Albuquerque to SWO’s Dallas location, which was one of the few abortion facilities in the state of Texas. It does not appear to be in business at this time.

In what appears to be a deposition posted by AOT, Carr confirmed that in 2018 she had moved from Albuquerque to Maine in a 2019 deposition, just released now, saying, “I work at Maine General Hospital in Augusta, Maine.” She was asked what the scope of her practice at the hospital was, to which she replied, “I was hired there to practice office only general OBG-YN.”

Carr was further asked, “At Maine General Hospital, do you currently provide abortion services?”

She replied, “No.”

Abortion On Trial wrote on its Facebook page, “We are thrilled to know that Dr. Carr has left SWO and is not providing abortion services at this time. We hope she continues on this new career path but will ultimately still pursue legal accountability for her past actions resulting in the harm of her patients.”

“Holding providers legally accountable makes things happen,” added the group.

Carr, once heralded by pro-abortion advocates as a leading abortionist has now shown to have chosen a new career path after working at SWO, which advertises on its website to offer “Abortions through 32 weeks,” including “Late Term Abortions After 32 Weeks on a Case by Case Basis.”

City of ABQ opts to pay off watchdog group rather than release public records

On Monday, the nonprofit watchdog group Rio Grande Foundation announced that after 18 months of litigation, the City of Albuquerque had settled with the group through mediation after the group repeatedly tried to obtain public records.

“The voters of Albuquerque defeated Democracy Dollars in November of 2019, and the Rio Grande Foundation’s exposure of numerous flaws in the proposal played a pivotal role in the downfall of the ballot measure. Furthermore, the Foundation filed an ethics complaint against Mayor Tim Keller for his use of the City’s website (CABQ.gov) in which he specifically called for voters to approve Democracy Dollars. Mayor Keller’s actions were found to be in violation of city ordinance by the Board of Ethics and Campaign Practices,” the Rio Grande Foundation wrote in a press release.

Following the ethics complaint filed by an official for the group requested a reasonable collection of text messages and emails sent to and from specific city employees leading up to the posting of Mayor Keller’s pleas on the city’s website to vote “YES.”

“On May 12, 2020, after exhausting all other avenues to obtain these public records, which included assistance from the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government when Director Melanie Majors sent a letter of complaint to no avail, the Rio Grande Foundation filed a legal complaint in District Court against the city,” the release reads.

But the group was reportedly ignored by City Clerk Ethan Watson and the Custodian of Records Yvette Gurule when asked if the records had been deleted.

Through the mediation process, the Rio Grande Foundation says it received a “sizable settlement” from the City rather than improving its public records process or releasing records.

Manny Gonzales’ allies send Tim Keller running for cover after bombshell fraud allegation

On Thursday, Jason Tatz, the chairman of the Retired Law Enforcement Officers Measure Finance Committee, filed a bombshell ethics complaint showing direct fraud tied to incumbent Mayor Tim Keller’s bid to keep his seat and qualify for public financing.

The news comes after the Keller campaign alleged fraud in Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales’ bid for financing, with signatures allegedly not matching voter files, among other points. The City Clerk, in turn, denied Gonzales public financing pending a hearing where the Sheriff will make the case for the funding to be restored. Keller has reportedly received public financing.

Gonzalez denies accusations, but it appears his allies have much ammunition to throw right back at the Keller campaign regarding alleged fraud.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, the complaint “contains an affidavit [which would mean jail time under the penalty of perjury if proven untrue] signed by Albuquerque firefighter Shawn McDonald alleging that the union leader asked firefighters to sign $5 donation cards on Keller’s behalf and that he told them that he’d cover the required $5 donation, a violation of city law.”

The report notes:

In the affidavit filed with Katz’s complaint, McDonald — the Albuquerque firefighter — alleges that his fire station received a visit June 1 from the president of the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters Local 244. The affidavit doesn’t name the union president, but accompanying receipts for the qualifying contributions were submitted by Cheney, who is president of the local firefighters union.

Neri Holguin, the far-left campaign manager for Keller and who has consulted on other races, such as for porn actor Roger Montoya, tried to laugh off the complaint, saying, “There’s no equivalency between the widespread fraud and admitted forgery by Manny Gonzales’s campaign and our campaign. There’s no evidence and there’s no merit to it.”

But Keller has been previously found guilty of ethics violations by the City’s Board of Ethics, which “found that mayoral candidate and state Auditor Tim Keller violated the City Charter’s Elections Code and the Open and Ethical Elections Code,” according to the Journal. These charges were based on the Keller campaign’s fraudulent activity.

Now, voters will see if the Keller campaign will also be stripped of its public financing amid fraud allegations and affidavits signed under penalty of perjury insisting the Mayor fraudulently qualified for financing.

Antisemites rally in ABQ against Israel, appear to support Hamas terrorists

On Saturday, Antisemites gathered at Tiguex Park in Albuquerque to rally against Israel. The rally, dubbed “Nakba (catastrophe): Emergency March and Rally” comes after Hamas terrorists in Palestine shot thousands of rockets at Israel over the past few days. Most of them have been intercepted by Israel’s missile defense system dubbed the “Iron Dome.”

The Islamic Center of New Mexico appears to have played a role in the Antisemitic protest. Just last week, Democrat politicians gathered to support the organization

At the Saturday protest, people held signs reading things like “Occupation Must End,” “It’s not anti-Semitic to admit Israel is an APARTHEID,” “Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine,” “Israelis Are Professional Baby Killers,” “Nationalism is a sickness,” among other things.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/7343361875/permalink/10157667201746876/

From videos posted of the event by attendees, speakers can be heard shouting, “Palestine will be free!” and “No more bloodshed!” However, Hamas, which controls Giza, the portion of land where thousands of rockets have been shot at Israel, has killed many Israelis in recent days. But many, such as Antisemitic U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) claim “Unlike Israel, missile defense programs, such as Iron Dome, don’t exist to protect Palestinian civilians.”

But Hamas has actually used schools as rocket-launch sites with young children being used as human shields.

The harsh truth of Palestine’s inhumane treatment of not only Israelis but also its own people was ignored by the protest, which was put on by “ANSWER Coalition,” a large proponent of the Hamas terrorist group.

Many attendees were seen wearing keffiyeh scarves, which are a staple of Hamas and Antisemitic terrorists occupying the West Bank and Gaza strip.

Previously, Antisemitic pro-Palestinian supporters have rallied in Albuquerque, notably in July 2020 with an event co-sponsored by the anti-Hispanic hate group “The Red Nation” and “Al-Awda,” whose founder compares Jews with Nazis and is a supporter of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah. At the 2020 rally, a handful of people in the caravan of cars held anti-Israel signs, with some shouting out of their cars things such as, “Look at the Nazis! F**k you!”
