MLG, Dems livid after U.S. House passes Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’

In a triumphant moment for conservatives and the America First movement, President Donald J. Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” (BBB) passed the U.S. House by a razor-thin vote of 215–214, triggering an all-out meltdown from New Mexico Democrats and their allies on the far left. Contrarian Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) voted with Democrats on the bill on concerns of reckless spending, despite in 2023 voting to let Joe Biden raise the debt ceiling. Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) also joined Democrats and Massie in rejecting the bill that protects the Second Amendment and the country.

The historic legislation—a masterstroke of pro-growth policy, border security, and Second Amendment reinforcement—sent liberals into a frenzy. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and others unleashed emotional tirades over provisions prioritizing national sovereignty, economic opportunity, and constitutional freedoms. All of New Mexico’s U.S. House representatives rejected the monumental bill.

“The passage of this bill is a monumental win for American families, small businesses, gun owners, and patriots who believe in secure borders and free markets,” said Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), who helped spearhead provisions to deregulate firearm suppressors. “This is a 2A victory and a direct hit on bloated bureaucracy.”

But while the rest of the country celebrates, New Mexico Democrats are in full panic mode.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham fumed, claiming the BBB “attacks Medicaid, jeopardizes food benefits for children, and undermines our progress on clean energy.” She failed to mention that the bill contains the largest middle-class tax cut in American history and reforms long-abused welfare programs to prioritize self-sufficiency and integrity. It does not, however, “attack” these programs.

Even more absurdly, Rep. Melanie Stansbury — red-faced and flustered during a press scrum — declared the bill’s funding of the border wall, Trump’s proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense shield, and national security enhancements as dangerous.

The hysterics weren’t limited to Capitol Hill. The New Mexico Democrat Party joined in, issuing a statement that the bill “will be deadly,” conveniently ignoring that their own party added $6 trillion in debt under Biden with nothing to show but inflation, energy dependence, and open borders.

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez chimed in with her own apocalyptic claims, accusing Republicans of orchestrating “the largest transfer of wealth from the working class to the ultra-rich in American history.” Her screed overlooked the permanent expansion of the small business deduction, protections for family farms, and tax cuts for tipped workers like waitstaff and drivers — real benefits already lauded by groups like the Job Creators Network and Uber.

Rep. Gabe Vasquez also chimed in with the same tired and discredited talking points, much the same as Fernandez and Stansbury.

In contrast to the doomsday rhetoric from Democrats, industry leaders and advocacy groups celebrated the bill’s provisions:

The National Rifle Association praised the removal of suppressors from the National Firearms Act, calling it a “monumental victory for Second Amendment rights.”

Farm Bureau, Cattlemen’s Association, and National Pork Producers Council highlighted reforms that support family farms and protect food supply chains.

Border Czar Tom Homan applauded new funding to expand ICE operations, enhance wall construction, and combat child and drug trafficking.

The American Petroleum Institute cheered restored American energy dominance and the rollback of Biden-era methane fees.

Claims that BBB will devastate Medicaid and SNAP are baseless fear-mongering. The bill implements eligibility reviews, anti-fraud measures, and streamlined assistance reforms backed by most Americans. Even the alleged $500 billion in Medicare “cuts” are nothing more than trimming waste and fraud, not touching a dime of guaranteed benefits.

And yes — the bill includes funding for the Golden Dome, a groundbreaking anti-missile defense shield to protect against threats like China, Russia, and rogue nations.

At the end of the day, the BBB is about America First. It’s about freedom, prosperity, and security. That’s why the radical left is screaming. They’ve lost control — and the people are taking their country back.

Now, the bill heads to the U.S. Senate. Americans across the nation are urging their senators to finish the job. Let the Democrats wail — the future belongs to those who build it, not those who tear it down.

SOS Toulouse Oliver freaks out as U.S. House passes key election integrity bill

The U.S. House of Representatives made a decisive move this week to protect the integrity of American elections by passing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, a bill that ensures only U.S. citizens are allowed to register and vote in federal elections. Despite bipartisan support for the common-sense measure, all three of New Mexico’s Democrat representatives—Teresa Leger Fernández, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabe Vasquez—voted against the bill, aligning themselves with far-left opposition rather than standing up for election integrity.

The SAVE Act mandates that individuals provide documented proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections—an overwhelming majority of Americans believe this requirement already exists. Shockingly, in many states, including New Mexico, voter registration processes do not require verified documentation of citizenship, leaving gaping holes in the system that could be exploited.

Yet, instead of praising this step toward greater public confidence in elections, prominent New Mexico Democrats erupted in outrage.

“Rest assured, I am a definite NO on the SAVE Act,” wrote U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, telegraphing his opposition before the Senate even considers the bill.

New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver issued a lengthy statement criticizing the legislation, calling it a threat to voter accessibility. “This legislation would impose stringent proof-of-citizenship requirements that threaten to disenfranchise many eligible voters in our state,” she said, suggesting erroneously that the bill would harm Native Americans, rural voters, and women who’ve changed their names after marriage.

Oliver also made the dubious claim that noncitizen voting is “exceedingly rare,” calling the bill “a solution in search of a problem.” However, recent polling and investigations have shown growing concerns among Americans over the possibility of voter fraud, particularly in states with lax voter registration requirements. The SAVE Act directly addresses those concerns by closing loopholes and reinforcing the principle that U.S. elections should be decided by U.S. citizens—nothing more, nothing less.

Most notably, freshman Rep. Gabe Vasquez, who faces a tough reelection battle in a battleground district, is now on record opposing a bill to prevent noncitizens from voting in federal elections. This position may prove politically toxic as Vasquez’s Republican challenger is certain to hammer him for putting partisan politics over secure elections.

While Democrats like Heinrich, Oliver, and Vasquez paint the bill as draconian, many Americans view the SAVE Act as a much-needed, commonsense safeguard. It’s no wonder the bill passed with bipartisan support. In an era where trust in elections has waned, requiring proof of citizenship to vote is a rational and fair way to help restore faith in the system.

New Mexico voters, especially those in competitive districts, may want to ask themselves: Why are their elected officials so afraid of proving citizenship at the ballot box?

With the SAVE Act now headed to the U.S. Senate, the spotlight turns to Sens. Heinrich and Luján. Will they continue to side with fringe voices, or will they stand up for the sanctity of American elections?

Stansbury embarrasses NM on national stage in protest to Trump’s speech

In yet another display of performative outrage, Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.) made a spectacle of herself before former President Donald Trump even began his address to Congress.

Instead of conducting herself with dignity, Stansbury chose to hold up a hastily scrawled sign reading, “This is not normal,” as Trump entered the chamber, ensuring she would be seen on camera.

The stunt didn’t last long. Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas), standing on the opposite side of the aisle, swiftly reached over and grabbed the paper from Stansbury’s hands, tossing it aside. It was a moment that underscored the growing frustration with Democrats’ endless theatrics.

Following the stunt, President Trump’s team trolled Stansbury’s little protest, altering the photo of her holding the sign to read “I am dumb.”

Rather than engaging in serious debate or offering solutions, Stansbury and her colleagues opted for more disruptions. Later in Trump’s speech, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) took the grandstanding to another level by loudly interrupting, prompting Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to have him removed by the sergeant-at-arms.

Greene faces likely censure for the violent cane-weilding outburst, while expulsion could also be on the table for the radical leftist congressman.

Following parts of the speech, Stansbury and many of her far-left colleagues left the speech, another weak attempt at a protest to the president.

Many believe New Mexicans deserve representation that isn’t defined by embarrassing antics on national television. Instead of focusing on real issues affecting her constituents, Stansbury continues to indulge in petty protests that do nothing but draw attention to herself.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is left wondering why some Democrats seem more interested in stunts than in governing or helping President Trump fix the nation’s problems.

ALERT: NM House Committee holding last-minute hearing on legislative maps TODAY at 3pm

After ramming through H.B. 8, a far-left New Mexico state House map, in the New Mexico House Government and Indian Affairs Committee on Wednesday, the Democrats in the House have announced that they will hold a last-minute hearing on the maps at 3:00 p.m, just a little over an hour after the news was broken on the House floor.

Testimony is urgently requested against these maps, which are a rendition of the far-left dark money George Soros-funded group, Center for Civic Policy’s maps.

Background on the maps, as we previously reported:

The Center for Civic Policy (CCP), a dark money group funded heavily by out-of-state billionaire financier George Soros, who destabilized the British Pound at the Bank of England, and millionaire Rob McKay, whose foundation had its non-profit status revoked in 2018, is trying to partisanly gerrymander the map to favor one side.

The CCP’s state legislative map (Concept G) does much of the same, achieving an extreme partisan gerrymander while also erasing rural representation. It would chop communities like Clovis into thirds while not taking into account the needs of energy-producing, farming, ranching, and other communities that are the backbone of the state’s economy. The map also takes into account at least 8 Native American-majority districts to ensure fair representation. The CCP’s map does not have this many Tribal districts.

Members of the public are urgently requested to call into the meeting to voice opposition, although it is unclear if the Democrat-led commission will even allow public comment. The committee announcement on the bill can be found here.

Talking points:

Use the far-left Democrats’ words against them. This is what we previously reported regarding New Mexico Citizens Redistricting Committee members’ comments on redrawing maps. Members Curtis and Rhatigan broke their word. Will NM House members?

Board Member Curtis said, “It seems like a radical change to any of the districts — since we’re not an elected body — … the public would have to say ‘we want a radical change.’” Member Curtis said, “there would have to be overwhelming support for a radical change from the current districts” and “We are imposing something on people if we’re doing radical change without the public jumping up and saying ‘this is what we want.’”

Board Member Rhatigan added, “…unless there’s overwhelming public consensus to change the general composition of our three congressional districts, I’m inclined to draw districts that we have one [representative] in Albuquerque and we have one northern district and a southern district.”

This map has clear gerrymandering, with strange, snake-like districts that are shameless partisan redrawing for political gain:

Rep. Herrell, other members of Congress to hold Thursday oil and gas roundtable in Artesia

On Wednesday, it was reported that Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-CD2) will be holding a roundtable with members of Congress from across the nation in Artesia focusing on oil and gas.

Herrell has been pushing back, along with other Republican members of Congress, against Joe Biden’s extreme anti-energy agenda, including his moratorium on federal drilling permits. Herrell has urged other members of New Mexico’s congressional delegation to join her and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in urging Biden to exempt New Mexico from his corrosive anti-energy policies.

According to Alex Ross of the Roswell Daily Record, Herrell will be joined in Artesia by Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-TX), Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), and Rep. Pete Stauber (R-MN) to discuss the critical issue.

Artesia, which is in Eddy County, New Mexico’s second-largest oil-producing county, is especially hit hard by Biden’s anti-energy policies, which Interior Secretary Deb Haaland will no doubt be helping him implement in New Mexico and around the country.

Herrell has been extremely active in Congress, fighting with her colleagues for many commonsense measures, such as punishment for people who murder police officers, a strong border, a strong agriculture industry, protecting oil and gas, and fighting for free and fair elections.

On March 16, Herrell joined a congressional delegation visiting the Southern Border in Texas, which included Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX). She also visited the U.S.-Mexico border in New Mexico, where she pointed out the meager “fence” protecting miles of border, which is allowing criminal aliens to pour into the U.S.

Rep. Herrell recently opened two district offices, one in Roswell and one in Las Cruces. “My staff have already helped hundreds of constituents before even setting foot in their offices,” said Herrell. “We haven’t missed a beat in being accessible to those needing assistance and in communicating with local leaders across the district.”

Rep. Herrell takes time out of busy week to treat National Guard troops at U.S. Capitol to green chile

Although far-left Democrat leaders have shuttered the U.S. Capitol with a giant metal chain-link and razor wire fence, that hasn’t stopped New Mexico’s Congresswoman from the Second District from bringing a little cheer to the brave men and women standing on-guard at the Capitol.

This week, she treated the National Guardsmen stationed at the U.S. Capitol to some of New Mexico’s very own green chile to bring a little New Mexico flavor to the dreary, shuttered, and politically toxic capitol building.

On Twitter, Herrell wrote, “Brought a taste from home to the New Mexico National Guard troops on duty at the U.S. Capitol this week. Green Chile of course,” with a photo of her serving it to the troops.

This has been a very busy week for New Mexico’s lone Republican congresswoman as she fought hard against a radical gun-grab championed by the Democrats and a Democrat slush fund cloaked as a “COVID-19 relief” bill, which only gives a meager 10% to coronavirus relief while the rest goes to fund Democrat pork, including hundreds of millions for abortions. She also stood up against the Democrats’ deadly open border policies that are bringing hundreds of thousands of criminal aliens into the U.S., many of them flooding through the southern border with Mexico and New Mexico.

But that’s not all. Herrell also co-sponsored a bill with a Republican senator to make murdering law enforcement officers a federal crime.

Herrell also sent a letter urging Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham to tell Democrat Sens. Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Luján to sponsor complimentary legislation, as she has proposed in the House, to exempt New Mexico from Joe Biden’s radical oil and gas moratorium.

Congresswoman-elect Yvette Herrell reveals her official U.S. House photo

On Tuesday, Congresswoman-elect Yvette Herrell of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District revealed her brand new official photograph as a new member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

In a Tweet, the Congresswoman-elect wrote shared with her followers the photograph, featuring her wearing a black and white houndstooth jacket and a pin with the New Mexico and American flags.

See Rep.-elect Herrell’s beautiful official photo here:

Herrell beat one-term incumbent Democrat Rep. Xochitl Torres Small by a sizeable margin in November, running on a pro-Trump, pro-gun, and pro-business ticket.

Torres Small sends voters mailers promoting herself—AT THE TAXPAYERS’ EXPENSE

On Friday, voters in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District received mailers from none other than Democrat Rep. Xochitl Torres Small, which touted her supposed “accomplishments” in Congress. The worst part about these mailers is that they were sent out at the taxpayers’ expense.

The mailer touts Torres Small’s work on “veterans issues” and quotes local papers singing her praises. One quote says Torres Small was “instrumental in helping fix a communication problem between local veterans using the new Veterans Administration healthcare programs.”

But Torres Small does not tout in her mailer — most likely meant to target wing voters — that she supported the far-left crusade to take down President Trump with the impeachment hoax, her refusal to support a bill that would protect babies who survive abortions, her support of a fracking ban that would destroy the state’s main source of income, and her support for rewarding criminal aliens with citizenship.

Although it is not yet clear if Torres Small broke any legal or ethical rules by sending out the mailer — clearly meant to sway the outcome of her re-election campaign — but taxpayers having to shell out money for Torres Small to promote herself raises serious questions.
