Española

Did MLG visit Española just to mask shame them — AGAIN?

On Wednesday, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham says she visited Española to hold a “roundtable on higher education with students, higher ed leaders, and elected officials.” There she touted her socialist plan for taxpayer-funded (not free) college. However, one thing was noticeably different in her wardrobe choice: her use of not just one — but TWO masks. She re-implemented her mask mandate in fear of the supposed“Delta” variant of the virus.

The double-masked governor in 2020 drove by Española in her taxpayer-funded chauffeur during her brutal lockdown where she scoffed at Española residents’ use of masks, even though she never even left her expensive ride to see first-hand if the residents were wearing masks.

At the time, she said, “Last week, I traveled to Northern New Mexico, and in traveling to Northern New Mexico, I went through Española. I saw a lot of activity in Española and traveling through Main Street going North. I didn’t see a single mask, not one. Not in a parking lot, not in a grocery store that we passed, not at a convenience store, not at a gas station, not by someone in a car, not hanging on a rearview mirror, not on a wrist, not as people were walking, nowhere! Not one. The only masks I saw were in the car I was in, and we have to do better than that because if we don’t we cannot successfully introduce risk.”

She was later forced to apologize to the community after the Mayor of Española, Javier Sanchez, roasted her in a fiery letter for picking on the small Hispanic Northern New Mexico community.

Mayor Sanchez wrote in the letter, “Are we truly to believe that the governor slowed down enough to see into our dark tinted windows to find no masks hanging from rear view mirrors? At this rate of condescension, I would be very surprised if the governor’s vehicle even slowed down to a rolling stop at the red lights. How empty those words sound coming from behind the windows of an air-conditioned vehicle while peering in at us like we are children who haven’t cleaned our rooms.”

Lujan Grisham later wrote, “My comments were taken as a lack of respect for Española and the work the community has done to fight this virus. I apologize for making that impression. That was not my intent, and I take responsibility for the way my words were conveyed and heard.”

But her apology fell on deaf ears after her press secretary Nora Sackett bashed the Española mayor, accusing him of “hypocrisy” and bashing him as “self-righteous.”

Now, it appears Lujan Grisham is attempting to make amends with the community — which votes predominantly Democrat — as she looks to cling onto power in the Governor’s Mansion. Her subtle two-masked approach to this may be another way to take another jab at Española for its perceived lack of compliance with her draconian mask mandates.

After claiming she will not be ‘intimidated,’ Gov. MLG cancels event in fear of ‘lizard people’

To say embattled Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s campaign reelection bid has had a rocky start is an understatement. After a tumultuous, scandal-ridden tenure as chief executive, Lujan Grisham is facing swaths of protesters at her campaign events.

During her reelection announcement event, Lujan Grisham and other speakers were drowned out by anti-MLG protesters fed up with the governor’s handling of the pandemic and her abuses of power while serving in her role. The protesters were regular, everyday New Mexicans, including retired teachers and nurses, who were using their free time to make their voices heard.

Frustrated by the protesters, Lujan Grisham bashed them as “QAnon lizard people,” a sentiment comparable to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables,” Joe Biden’s “chumps,” or Peter Strzok’s “ignorant hillbillies” comments.

While running for election in 2018, Lujan Grisham made similar comments toward rural New Mexicans, bashing people who live in Deming. She said, “I met a woman in Deming. Her name is Gladys. So she’s not—she wasn’t born in New Mexico. But she chose New Mexico, and she chose Deming! I know… I didn’t mean that to be…”

Now, after all of this, New Mexicans are fighting back against Lujan Grisham, not just at her re-election speech, but everywhere, including all her stops on the campaign trail. Protesters showed up at the Governor’s Friday event in Taos to protest.

At her very short reelection speech, the Governor said, “We’re going to do what we do best. We’re going to protect New Mexico, and no amount of noise will deter, intimidate or create a vacuum in leadership that makes a difference for every single New Mexican this day and every day. Can’t be done. Can’t be done.”

There was also another event scheduled at the Santa Claran in Española — an area of the state she bashed — but it was canceled due to “security concerns,” which means that despite Lujan Grisham’s comment that she will not be “intimidated,” she was.

Lujan Grisham’s spokeswoman Kendall Witmer said, “These protesters berated supporters with violent and racist language and stalked and intimidated press and event staff.” All of these statements are untrue, per photographs and videos taken at the reelection announcement venue.

Lujan Grisham faces a tough reelection campaign as strong Republican challengers have already emerged, including Sandoval County Commissioner Jay Block and businesswoman Karen Bedonie.

Report: MLG-endorsed NM House candidate and ‘CNN hero’ appears to have past as porn actor

According to a report done by a prominent investigative firm, Democrat Roger Montoya, running for an open seat in the 40th District of the New Mexico House of Representatives, has apparently appeared in multiple pornographic gay films, something he has made no mention of in any public media or any other place.

In 2019, Montoya was chosen by CNN as a “CNN Hero” for his role in the performing arts, where the network highlighted his longtime battle with AIDS, writing, “by the late 1980s, he was HIV-positive.”

Montoya is a favorite of many top-level Democrat politicians in New Mexico. He has the endorsements of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, and has received over $2,500 from “MLG PAC,” Lujan Grisham’s political action committee. He has received campaign funds and endorsements from the pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico and the environmental group the Sierra Club. In 2019, Gov. Lujan Grisham appointed Montoya to the Human Rights Commission at the Department of Workforce Solutions following the CNN award.

The investigative report found that Montoya appears to have had unprotected sex in multiple gay films titled “Hot Male Mechanics,” “Spring Training,” “The Lumber Yard,” “Falcon Bareback,” and “Hot Chili Peppers 2” going by the name “Joe Savage” or “Eric Martinez.” One source notes, “Joe Savage has concentrated on working with Distribpix / Video-X-Pix, Falcon Studios, and Midnight Video.” These all appear to be pornographic production companies.

The report by the investigator reads:

I then used open media sources to obtain photographs of Roger Montoya. … All the photographs were then put on the same spreadsheet for comparisons. All the photographs show similar facial features. Although there is a 35-year difference, there are cues noticed in the ears, specifically the ear lobes. The eyebrows and chin structure are also similar.

The report concluded that it was the opinion of two investigators that the “similarities in the photographs are a good match that Roger Montoya and Joe Savage are one in the same.”

Confirmed picture of Roger Montoya from a family photograph (right). Judging by the clothing style, it is from the late 1970s. Publicity photo for one of Joe Savage’s movies (left) for comparison.

An independent investigation by the Piñon Post of the provided photographs by the investigator matched these photographs to those posted on the website “Gay Santa Fe,” which did a piece on Montoya after the “CNN Heroes” story.

The story included photographs of Montoya dancing, as well as a headshot from around the time he may have appeared in pornographic movies, which was approximately around the year 1985, according to Joe Savage’s profile on IMDB

The body type of the head/body shot from the “Joe Savage” pornography profile on “Hot Movies,” provided by the investigator, appears to be similar to that of the Gay Santa Fe photograph showing Montoya dancing.

Screenshot of Savage obtained by investigators from one of his pornographic films (left), Montoya from Gay Santa Fe article (right).
The closeup photograph from the Gay Santa Fe piece (right) reveals how similar Joe Savage/Eric Martinez and Roger Montoya appear, even approximately 35 years after the photograph was taken.

To further validate the similarities between both men, Piñon Post took the photographs from the Joe Savage profile and searched them in the “PimEyes” online search platform, which matches visually similar images up with others on the internet. One of the search results that came up matched the 1980s photograph to a much more recent one of Roger Montoya from a website called “Living Juicy,” as well as other graphic images from Joe Savage’s pornographic films. Note: graphic search results have been blurred out.

The Piñon Post reached out to Mr. Montoya for comment via telephone and email correspondence on multiple occasions, but did not hear back and could not leave a message due to his voicemail inbox being full. If Montoya does care to comment, this report will be updated. Montoya is running against Republican Justin Salazar-Torres for the 40th District New Mexico House seat.

Note: No direct links to Joe Savage’s/Eric Martinez’s pornographic videos are embedded in this article, due to their graphic nature. Photographs and headshots of Joe Savage/Eric Martinez are copyright of “Falcon Studios.”

After MLG ‘apologizes’ for demeaning Españolans, her press secretary hits mayor as ‘self-righteous’

A little over two weeks since Gov. Michelle Luján Grisham issued an “apology” to the citizens of Española for scolding them over their mask-wearing habits, now her press secretary, Nora Sackett, is getting her back in the line of fire.

Grisham’s criticism of Española, as Piñon Post first reported on, went as follows:

“Last week, I traveled to Northern New Mexico, and in traveling to Northern New Mexico, I went through Española. Not one. The only masks I saw were in the car I was in, and we have to do better than that because if we don’t, we cannot successfully introduce risk.”

The Governor’s apology, which some have noted as back-handed, read, “My comments were taken as a lack of respect for Española and the work the community has done to fight this virus. I apologize for making that impression. That was not my intent, and I take responsibility for the way my words were conveyed and heard.”

“It is true that I did not see any masks that day on my way through town north and south, but that doesn’t mean I should have made the point that I did in the way I did it. If my intent was to highlight where we can improve and what we can do better, and it was, then I could have communicated that in a different way, and I should have,” she continued.

But on Monday, Gov. Lujan Grisham’s press secretary Nora Sackett took to Twitter to blast the Española mayor and him not wearing a mask while taking a photo at an event. She wrote, “Every media outlet that covered the mayor of Española’s self-righteous op ed will now also cover his flagrant hypocrisy and violation of the public health order, right?”

The condescending comment toward Española Mayor Javier Sanchez, who called out the Governor, which prompted her apology, may reflect the true feelings the Lujan Grisham administration has for Española’s mayor and thus the people of Española.

Even people claiming to be the Governor’s staunchest defenders took offense to Sackett’s comment, one writing, “I’m behind our gov 100% but you totally come off as aggressive and unnecessarily antagonistic. Read the room. Stick with policy.”

It is unclear if the Governor’s office will issue yet another apology for the clear disrespect for Española mayor, but the comments do appear to reflect the opposite of what the previous “apology” was supposed to mend.

Why did MLG ‘apologize’ for belittling Española but she refuses to stop ridiculing Hobbs?

On Friday, after the Mayor of heavily Democrat Española, Javier Sanchez, sent a scathing letter to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham for making an example of the city for allegedly not wearing masks, Lujan Grisham released a half-hearted “apology.” But the attempt at reconciliation begs the question of why she isn’t apologizing to other communities she has belittled, such as Hobbs.

As Piñon Post first reported on, Lujan Grisham said during her presser, “Last week, I traveled to Northern New Mexico, and in traveling to Northern New Mexico, I went through Española. Not one. The only masks I saw were in the car I was in, and we have to do better than that because if we don’t, we cannot successfully introduce risk.”

Mayor Sanchez rebuked the Governor’s comments, writing in a letter, “Are we truly to believe that the governor slowed down enough to see into our dark tinted windows to find no masks hanging from rear view mirrors? At this rate of condescension, I would be very surprised if the governor’s vehicle even slowed down to a rolling stop at the red lights. How empty those words sound coming from behind the windows of an air-conditioned vehicle while peering in at us like we are children who haven’t cleaned our rooms.”

“My comments were taken as a lack of respect for Española and the work the community has done to fight this virus. I apologize for making that impression. That was not my intent, and I take responsibility for the way my words were conveyed and heard,” wrote Lujan Grisham.

“It is true that I did not see any masks that day on my way through town north and south, but that doesn’t mean I should have made the point that I did in the way I did it. If my intent was to highlight where we can improve and what we can do better, and it was, then I could have communicated that in a different way, and I should have,” she continued.

However, the Governor has refused to apologize for mercilessly ridiculing a restaurant in Hobbs, New Mexico, scolding them for allegedly not wearing masks. The snitch photo she presents looks to demean and criticize the small business that she claims were defying her health orders. But she praised Taos County for wearing masks, a county she won in 2018 with 81.5% of the vote.

But why did she hand-select Espanñola to send her apologies, while other rural communities still suffer from the ramifications of her shaming? The answer is simple: politics.

In 2018, Lujan Grisham won Rio Arriba County, where Española is, by a margin of 73% to 27%, or 46%. The county is also 84% Hispanic/Latino, and the criticism of the county may be seen as possibly racially-charged.

Hobbs, however, which is located in Lea County, is a Republican area, where she lost the county by massive numbers, losing by 55% in the county, or 22.2% to 77.8%. She has also gone after the Lea County Sheriff, having her Attorney General, Hector Balderas file a lawsuit against the department for visiting a local restaurant and eating indoors, a violation of her strict anti-indoor dining mandate. Lujan Grisham’s recent actions show yet again that she is ready and willing to pick on the entire state, while only apologizing for offense when the area she’s berating is heavily Democrat.

Gov. Lujan Grisham mask shames Española residents: ‘I didn’t see a single mask, not one’

On Thursday, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham held a COVID-19 press conference where she announced a few new steps to reopening, such as museums being able to function at 25% capacity, restaurants with indoor dining at 25% indoors and 75% outdoors, among a handful of other lesser restrictions.

While she was talking about how New Mexicans need to keep with her strict policies, she made sure to make an example of Española in Northern New Mexico, mask shaming residents for not wearing face coverings, according to her observations from her chauffeured car.

“Last week, I traveled to Northern New Mexico, and in traveling to Northern New Mexico, I went through Española.

Her recent criticism of New Mexicans certainly is not a new development, as she previously berated folks for traveling out of state, making examples of restauranteurs in Hobbs who allegedly were not following her indoor dining ban.
