Vasquez tops another ranking for most vulnerable U.S. House Dems in 2024

Far-left U.S. Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D-NM-CD2) was recently named on another list as one of the most vulnerable representatives in 2024 — this time ranking the third-most vulnerable Democrat.

Of the top ten most vulnerable incumbents in the U.S. House, Vasquez hit the National Journal’s top 10 most likely to lose in the next election.

In May, Roll Call listed Vasquez alongside Colorado’s Rep. Yadira Caraveo and Washington’s Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez as the most vulnerable Democrats in the House during the 2024 election.

The National Republican Congressional Committee listed Vasquez as a targeted seat and has consistently hit him on playing politics with the border, his stances on cutting New Mexico energy jobs, and siding with criminals over the police.

A recent poll commissioned by KOB 4 that was released in mid-September showed Vasquez trailing GOP former Congresswoman Yvette Herrell, affirming how vulnerable he is in the next election cycle.

Vasquez has been recently trying to beef up his more “moderate” bona fides, such as condemning Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s unconstitutional gun ban executive order, but he has consistently voted along party lines on almost all legislation.

Herrell was narrowly ousted in 2022 by around 1,500 votes after far-left Democrats in the state Legislature gerrymandered the district from favoring Republicans by 14 points to now favoring Democrats by four points. The franken-map drawn by the Democrats chops up communities of interest, such as Hobbs, Roswell, and Albuquerque, to shift political power. It is currently in litigation, and a judge is set to rule on the legality of the map in the coming days.

  1. It would be great if the GOP had someone to run against Stansbury that actually could win. Someone with great credentials and articulate and well funded. But, I am not holding my breath given the track record of the NMRP.

  2. It is imperative that Republicans and conservative Democrats who live in CD2 get off their butts and go vote for Herrell. I refuse to believe Vasquez represents the majority interests in our congressional district.

  3. I’ve asked GB (Not a Good Old Boy Gabby Vasquez) on his personal website several critical thought provoking questions and he has refused to answer. That alone should tell you enough about the character of this… (insert your favorite cuss or demeaning word).

#1. Do you support up to moment of birth abortion to continue funding for the NM State Tax & Revenues Divisions enhanced Abortion Tourism Dollars collection like the Governor does? –Now I did not ask about all around abortion, I specifically asked ABOUT LATE TERM MOMENT OF BIRTH EXECUTION OF PEOPLE.

No answer for the past 3 months tells me he doesn’t give a (s**t).

#2. I’ve asked about enhanced gaming (gambling) in the State, permitting Tribes to take on the Horse Racing Industry and permit Tribes to have a horse racing track if they so desire. I’ve asked about enhancing table games with live dealers which enhances jobs STATEWIDE… and have got no answer. I’ve asked about renegotiation of Tribal Indian Gaming Compact so that all casinos pay the same taxes and get rid of the sin tax applied to State run casinos from 26% to equal to the county or city tax rates… and…no answer.

#3. I’ve asked about water usage and the costs increasing 400-3,000% for farmers drawing water from the Rio Grande or any water way connected to the Colorado River, about water usage in rural areas… metering for private domestic wells… and no answer.

#4 I’ve asked about oil and gas expansion and lifting the caps on production… and that’s an absolute farce as he hasn’t bother at all.

#5. I asked why it took so long for him to respond to the Governors illicit ban on gun ownership…and will he support a bill to impeach and remove the Governor right now… Will he publicly say impeach her? and that’s a farce…still no answer.

My 93 year old father would say…”He is about as worthless t*ts on a boar hog”. (I tried explain to my dad that nowadays…hogs can identify as having working t*ts, but he didn’t understand)

  4. I will be voting for Yvette Herrell! My goals for New Mexico and all of the USA are not the same as any Democrat! They have done so much damage to our country, it will take years to recover. God Bless our grandchildren.
