In New Mexico, the state Supreme Court is preparing to hear arguments concerning the scope of the governor’s authority to issue public health orders.
The petition initiating this legal scrutiny has been filed by entities including the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Republican Party of New Mexico, and every Republican state legislator. The legal filing came after Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a public health emergency order stripping Bernalillo County and Albuquerque residents of their right to concealed or open carry a firearm.
During the signing of the blatantly illegal order, Lujan Grisham claimed that no constitutional right, in her view, including her oath, “is intended to be absolute.”
A Joe Biden-appointed judge quickly struck down that measure due to its blatant unconstitutionality, but the question about the governor’s authority to make such edicts is what the lawsuit is centered upon.
Alongside questioning the governor’s authority, the petition seeks clarity from the court on whether drug abuse and gun violence can be considered valid grounds for declaring a public health emergency. The New Mexico Supreme Court has slated the arguments for January 8, where these issues will be thoroughly examined.
Reps. John Block (R-Alamogordo) and Stefani Lord (R-Sandia Park) have begun impeachment proceedings against the governor and intend to bring them forth in the next legislative session.
Let’s see if the NM Supreme Court views the state constitution more like guidelines than firm law.

The NM Supreme Court will side with MLG giving the legislature carte blanche to pass draconian gun laws that criminalize law abiding citizens.

How ironic that the Governor views the suspension Second Amendment right as a reaction to a “public health emergency”. If she were really concerned about public health emergencies, she would close our southern border!

You’ve also shown a lack of knowledge and understanding of the document you swore allegiance to uphold. When you claimed the power to ban citizens’ right to bear arms you committed an impeachable offense, bordering on sedition and perhaps even treason.
The 2nd Amendment DOES NOT GIVE citizens the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The Right of Self Defense is a Natural Right, a God Given Right that requires no license, permission or approval from ANY government paid stooge or flunkey.
The 2nd Amendment, along with the other Bill of Rights is a LIMIT ON THE GOVERNMENT, establishing limits and boundaries that the government shall not cross under any circumstances.
It’s a very important distinction that many people don’t know or don’t understand.

It will be a glorious day when the skanky piglet Loserjan is arrested and escorted out of the roundhouse in handcuffs!!! If she would enforce the gun laws already on the books she and her drug running buddies would all be headed for prison – instead she wants to pull the rights of law ABIDING citizens.. is this to keep her drug and thug buddies from being challenged when they try to kick in someones door? probably!
