Heinrich has his most unhinged take yet — this time about gas stoves

On Saturday, far-left Democrat Sen. Martin Heinrich shared an article advocating for doing away with gas ovens, instead to opt for induction (electric) ones.

But his take on the article was what raised eyebrows.

Heinrich wrote while sharing the link, “Would you let your babysitter smoke in your house? Having a gas stove in your home may be just as bad.”

It’s unclear what Heinrich’s obsession with banning gas stoves is all about, but Heinrich has been on this tear for years.

In July of 2021, Heinrich wrote on Twitter, “When you trade out your gas stove for an electric one you lower your monthly energy bills, create jobs, and move us closer to a zero-emissions future. And a bill I’ll be introducing would give you money back for doing that. This is how we build a clean energy powered economy.”

Paul Gessing of the Rio Grande Foundation had some thoughts on Heinrich’s most unhinged comments comparing owning an electric stove to letting one’s babysitter light one up while watching kids.

Gessing wrote on Twitter, “I’m at a loss for words.  Cooking on your stove is like letting your babysitter smoke in your house? WTF? Heinrich is the one smoking something.”

Another commenter wrote, “He should focus on solving actual problems, not conjuring up imaginary ones. Which is unlikely.”

One person wrote in response, “And the Hoodwink continues to descend on into Crazy La la levels. We so need to clean house of these clowns.”

Heinrich previously bragged on social media about supposedly electrifying his home, sharing a video of him installing a new heat pump to supposedly save the planet. We previously reported:

Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM), who lives in Silver Springs, Maryland outside of Washington, D.C., bragged … about how he was supposedly “electrifying” his home with expensive new appliances including a new heat pump.

Heinrich shared a video and wrote on Twitter, “The decisions we make around our kitchen tables about the cars we drive and the appliances we use in our homes directly impact the health of our climate & our families. Today, I’m taking the next step to electrify my home and installing our second heat pump.”

This comes as 18.63% of New Mexicans are living below the poverty line and cannot afford to heat their homes during the winter, much less invest in eco-left appliances to “electrify” their homes for the “climate.”

Henrich is a radical enviro-Marxist who supports Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) in her attempt to pass the Green New Deal on a federal level.

  1. These environmentalists are brainwashed into thinking that green energy will be the savior of the planet… natural gas Burns clean ..and it takes far less land to drill for natural gas then what the green energies uses to produce the same amount of energy

Solar farms take 450 times more land than nuclear plants, and wind farms take 700 times more land than natural gas wells, to produce the same amount of energy.

  2. His guy is F’ing weird! Please concern yourself with something important, like REAL science and keeping us out of war.

  3. What a TOOL! PMN reports(warns) people of ABQ will have NO power for AC, this summer due to loss of San Juan power station ! Now pay attention if you live in ABQ, of you drive south toward the bridge over the Rio Grande on I-25 look for a large group of power poles with what looks like a Giant Radiator ! that is a Natural gas Peak demand power generation plant , only runs when the demand increases!

This is to Back up the Primary supply ( San Juan ) good luck if you live in ABQ area this summer!

  4. Mind your business Heinnie

He is an idiot. He does not even live in New Mexico. He should shut up and keep his dumb a$$ out of New Mexico. We don’t need NY more of these psychos.

  5. I do not think he cares about the people of New Mexico. He does not live and work in NM, yet he is described as “D-NM” in other words, an elected “representative” of the people of NM. I doubt he ever even comes here, unless he’s campaigning to get reelected.

    1. And he wasn’t born in NM either. He’s from Oklahoma. What does that tell you about his love of this state? This guy is a phony and should be thrown out of office before he can do even more harm to our country. Where are his priorities? We should be funding our military to get ready for the next big communist threat. Instead, he’s trying to get into our kitchen to tell us what we can use to cook, and into our heating closet to tell us what we can use to heat our homes in the winter, or to control how cool we can keep our homes during the hot summers.

  6. Ask anyone who lives in an all electric home about their energy bills. Natural gas is much cheaper. Heinrich is talking out his rear end.

  7. What a piece of work!! Somebody needs to inform this idiot that he is suppose to represent NM. It seems he isn’t even aware of the issues and severe problems we have in this state already! We’re ALREADY #1 on every schiff list there is!! He intends to keep us there and create a new one! Please NM, QUIT voting for Democrats!!!!

  8. At times this idiot make AOC look smart.. general consensus– ya can’t make it in ranching ,–with the no child left behind you go to law school and can’t make it in law so you become a politician and suck up to corruption.. Yeah Hiney-lick you sure haven’t done New Mexico any favors!

  9. One person wrote in response, “And the Hoodwink continues to descend on into Crazy La la levels. We so need to clean house of these clowns.”

The problem is we have too many NM “clowns” voting for these DC clowns who care nothing about the real issues confronting our state and our nation.

Natural gas is cheap and natural gas burns clean.

  10. When are the people in New Mexico going to wake up and do their research on people (politicians) running for office. This guy is nothing but a Democrat Stamp. It does not matter how bad legislation is in Washington what ever the Democratic Party wants he voters for it. Then he also comes up with ridiculous statement about gas stoves. This guy does not need to be representing the people of New Mexico. The only way to keep people like him out of office is to NOT VOTE FOR THEM. Remember what this guy does when votes take place in Washington and make sure he is not re-elected. I have complained to him about his liberal voting politics but I am only one person. All need to object to his voting. NM needs real people voting to improve America not destroy it in political offices all over the U.S. Do not wait until it is too late to speak up.

  11. It’s truly amazing that someone allegedly trained in engineering has such total lack of scientific knowledge. He knows nothing of energy conversion, transmission efficiency, and basic thermodynamics. I guess we should be glad he’s no longer an engineer. He would be ineptly designing dangerous products. This is an example of one the common methods of those who want to control our lives—when you can’t win a scientific argument because the science is not on your side, instill fear with absurd health claims. Militant vegetarians do this all the time.

  12. I work at one of NM’s hydroelectric power plants and would you like to know how many electrons (i.e. Megawatts) I’ve made since mid Nov of 2021….ZERO!! So where does the electricity for those around me come from…yep, traditional ff plants. “Environmentalists” are the absolute worst because what they spew is utter garbage with little basis in reality. Look at Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon power plant. It is predicted that it will not produce power for LA, LV, and AZ by 2024. It is 35 feet from deadpool. How do you charge an electric vehicle, cook, heat your home, etc when there’s no electricity? But hey, as long as “politicians” feel good about themselves, we are “saving” the planet. SMFH
