After Vasquez’s pro-criminal vote, top GOP PAC launches billboard campaign

On Wednesday, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced it is launching a nationwide billboard campaign targeting vulnerable House Democrats who have embraced pro-criminal policies.

Rep. Gabe Vasquez of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District is a name included on that list, who recently voted to reduce penalties for violent criminal offenders. Vasquez is a freshman won by a little over 1,000 votes in the November 2022 election.

“Crime is surging in these vulnerable Democrats’ backyards and they are signaling they don’t care,” NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson said. “A slap on the wrist for violent criminals is too extreme even for President Biden, but not extreme enough for these Democrats.”

Other House Democrats being focused on include Reps. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia and Susan Wild of Pennsylvania.

The move comes as a crime wave has bludgeoned New Mexico, specifically Albuquerque, which Vasquez partially represents.

2022 was the deadliest year on record in Albuquerque, with 121 homicides. New Mexico was ranked the state with the highest kidnapping rate in the nation. Businesses are also closing due to the crime epidemic plaguing the state.

      1. You are correct. They vote ballots not the vote. If a ballot is received from a Democrat then every democrat candidate receives the vote and not who the person voted for.

I don’t understand why Rep. Gabe Vasquez would vote to reduce penalties for violent criminal offenders. Does he not know how much violent crime is happening in Albuquerque? I can only assume he is a political hack with no values of his own so he follows the ‘party line.’ shame on him for not caring at all about his constituents.

  2. No secret that Vasquez is in favor of decriminalizing. After all, he has supported BLM and defunding the police. Vasquez also supports open borders, which only encourages more drug smugglers and human traffickers.
Fortunately, New Mexico will have a choice in 2024, with Yvette Herrell back in the race. Unlike Vasquez, Herrell. supports law enforcement and secure borders. Support Yvette, the law and order candidate.

  3. The people of NM are uneducated when it comes to policy. Makes no difference to them as long as there is a “D” behind the name. Yvette never should have conceded either, she promised to fight and rolled over the second she could.

  4. Love to see a billboard wanted poster with Vasquez’s face on it. This bad hombre is an accomplice to crime.

  5. “ he’s a joke” but the jokes on us. Communist functionaries of which this state is full of keep making sure that your vote is nullified by either gerrymandering , ballot harvesting or outright fraud. As their hero Lenin said, ‘“ people who vote don’t matter , the people counting the votes are what matter”. Putting the cart before the horse people hope that this time we’ll elect better people. until the entire election system is reformed we’ll be given the same scum that we now have.

  6. If all the registered Republicans had voted in this last election we wouldn’t be discussing this subject matter. I agree with the previous comment. If the ancestors were Democrats it’s in their DNA to vote Democratic. It’s a right of passage. I made hundreds of cold calls for a Ward candidate who was running under the Republican ticket. As much as I tried to educate the registered Democrats on the policies that would benefit them, I could not sway them away from their tunnel mentality. The number of registered Independent voters is very close to the number of registered Republicans. Independents usually side with the Democratics. I am at loss on what to do next except to pray.
