Another Michelle Lujan Grisham cabinet member resigns

Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Economic Development Department (NMEDD) Secretary Alicia J. Keyes has resigned from the administration — the seventh cabinet appointee to bail on the administration since last November’s election.

The governor claimed in the announcement, “Secretary Keyes’ commitment to carrying out the vision of my administration and her dedication to making New Mexico a great place to live have been integral to the economic health of our great state. I wish her the very best in the future.”

“My greatest joy has been collaborating with New Mexicans in every corner of the state to create higher-paying jobs and build economic security for future generations,” Keyes said in a statement.

She added, “I want to thank Gov. Lujan Grisham for this opportunity and unwavering support and encouragement. I’m looking forward to continuing to drive economic development forward in my next chapter.”

The NMEDD secretary was paid $200,000 annually, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican. Her last day will be July 13, 2023.

“Keyes plans to take personal time before pursuing opportunities in the private sector while remaining in New Mexico. The administration is actively seeking Keyes’ successor,” according to Lujan Grisham’s press release.

The Lujan Grisham regime has been a revolving door of cabinet members and other staff, with key departments feeling extreme uncertainty amid the constant shift between cabinet members and staffers.

  1. Maybe she left because New Mexico has no economic development——- we’re the poorest state in the nation.

    1. I am so in tune with our governor and her policies. I am so grateful she is iur governor and not someone like Texas Governor Greg Abbott. I cringe everytime he opens his mouth.

        1. I wondered the same thing. I thought Judy had to be kidding. I wonder when Michelle and the rest of them will face the gallows like G. Whitmere govenor of MI ( posted on alternative news)

  2. “She’s been integral to the economic health of our great state” Economic Health ??? Great State??? Yeeesh……

    1. That’s what its like to live in the presence of a dictator, wonder how she will get rid of her cousin so she can become a senator and move to her playground in D.C.

  3. Grisham does not listen to her cabinet members, so Grisham gets criticized because of her dictatorial policies and decisions, she uses cabinet members as scapegoats. The only function of her cabinet is to take the heat and get fired or get asked to resign.

  4. That’s why Lil Man heinrich was In state a few weeks ago, to let mlg know he thinks it’s safe for her to show up in d.c.
The Pakistani spy ring, run by the Awan brothers, ably abetted by mlg is old hat, and the grand jury was only looking for republican scalps.
So mlg is looking for a new job, more opportunities, bigger bribes and who knows, KaMaMaLaLa is way dumber than mlg – she could be Veep Throat, if anyone would let her.

    1. Well when you hang around people like Harris and also having your marriage officiated by Harris the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. You hang around bad you become bad. Just saying.

  5. Sounds like the commentors here hold the Gov in the same “esteem” as I do. She wants to demand of us that we do what wealthier folk may do while keeping us in poverty. Typical of dictatorships. Drive electric vehicles, get rid of gas or wood for cooking and heating… how are we supposed to comply with this insanity without good incomes? Good sense escapes her. Yes some individuals may be able, but state wide??? Impossible!
As for DC, she should avoid it. We don’t need a witch in office dictating to us from an even more powerful position.
We seniors on fixed low SS incomes struggle to pay taxes, eat and survive. I don’t take EBT help even if I may qualify. I do get some community pantry help and I’m struggling to get a garden put in. I’m not alone in that. I do eat lunch most weekdays at a senior center. Glad for it. I’ll be glad when the garden is in and producing. That helps.
Why is it our state has resources but can’t seem to produce an economy that supports its’ people? Why does our governor want to foist failed California economically unsound practices on us? Is she really such a dunce as she appears to be? I’d hate to be working with her. I never wanted to be blamed for someone else’s idiocy. I’d quit also. The people don’t seem to understand she’s part of the problem. She should be part of the solution! If the citizens of this state were paying better attention and wanting changes for the better, some state employees and elected officials might stay and try to work on solutions. The pay is good but the environment is a killer. It kills incentive. It kills initiative. And then being blamed as if you’re the problem by the problem… well, what’s the point? You aren’t allowed to change or improve things if forcing mock California down our throats is all there is to work with.

    1. Shouldn’t have to be forced to do anything or go along with anything if one doesn’t want to. It wouldn’t matter if I was wealthy or not. I still wouldn’t buy an electric car because they use children for slave labor for the batteries and they still have to use fossil fuels for the battery anyway. If the battery goes out one still has to use gas. It defeats the purpose. I do not like electric stoves and would still not use it. Period!
