Trump sends millions to flooded Ruidoso—but Dems refuse to give him credit

President Donald J. Trump on Thursday took swift action to aid New Mexicans reeling from catastrophic flash floods, approving a federal disaster declaration that will unlock emergency funds for Lincoln, Chaves, Otero, and Valencia counties. The move brings much-needed relief to communities devastated by deadly flooding earlier this week, particularly in the Village of Ruidoso.

The flash floods—triggered by intense monsoon rains on terrain already scarred by last year’s South Fork Fire—have left at least three people dead, including two young children. Between 200 and 400 homes were damaged or destroyed as torrents of water tore through neighborhoods, leaving behind wreckage and heartache.

Thanks to President Trump’s direct authorization, over $3 million in FEMA assistance and $12 million in expected USDA funding will now be deployed to aid in recovery. His quick decision ensured that federal aid would be made available without delay, bringing hope and relief to families trying to rebuild.

But while Trump acted decisively, some Democrat politicians chose to politicize the moment. During a press conference Thursday morning, Rep. Melanie Stansbury refused to acknowledge the president’s role in approving the aid. Instead of thanking President Trump, she vaguely praised the “federal government,” refusing to utter his name even as his administration delivered the critical help her constituents desperately needed.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham visited Ruidoso that morning to survey the damage and meet with emergency responders. While she acknowledged that the federal government had reached out and was mobilizing resources, she, too, stopped short of giving President Trump credit for the declaration. Her comments focused on “federal partners” and “Washington support,” avoiding recognition of the leader who signed the order.

Meanwhile, Ruidoso Mayor Lynn Crawford spoke emotionally about the toll on the community, and local emergency personnel continue to work around the clock to manage the response. Hundreds remain displaced, with more rain forecast in the coming days, adding urgency to recovery efforts.

Congressman Gabe Vasquez, another Democrat on the scene, offered statements of concern but little substance, as residents continue demanding real action, not just photo ops.

In contrast, President Trump’s rapid and decisive leadership provided real results. The federal disaster declaration will unlock crucial funding to support displaced families, rebuild infrastructure, and reinforce emergency response efforts before more storms arrive.

While partisan politicians hesitate to give credit where it’s due, the people of New Mexico can see the truth: President Trump delivered when it mattered. His action is helping communities like Ruidoso get back on their feet, and no amount of political spin can change that.

Triggered: MLG has full-blown meltdown over Trump’s ‘Beautiful’ budget bill

Far-left Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham erupted in outrage Tuesday following final passage of President Donald J. Trump’s sweeping federal budget overhaul, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The legislation, which passed Congress with GOP majorities and is set to be signed by Trump on the Fourth of July, marks a dramatic reshaping of the federal budget, delivering major tax relief to working Americans and slashing bloated bureaucratic programs.

Lujan Grisham, who has built her administration on expanding state dependency programs and inflating New Mexico’s government spending, issued a scathing statement in which she declared the budget an “abomination,” claiming it was “a betrayal” and warning of supposed “threats” to New Mexicans.

“The Republican budget bill is an abomination that abandons working families and threatens the health and well-being of New Mexicans,” she claimed, despite the bill’s focus on reducing the federal tax burden and prioritizing local control. Lujan Grisham went on to accuse Republicans of “slashing funding for health care and child nutrition to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-rich,” echoing stale class warfare rhetoric.

But the governor’s fiery tirade seemed less about facts and more about partisan fury. In what some critics have called a “meltdown,” Lujan Grisham floated the idea of calling a state special session—not to address state needs, but seemingly to air her grievances with a federal bill she has no authority over.

“Make no mistake,” she fumed, “this Republican budget will hit New Mexico hard.” She then ticked off a series of apocalyptic predictions—from cuts to Medicaid and education to tax hikes on electricity—despite no such measures being confirmed in the final budget text.

The bill, which all of New Mexico’s three representatives and two senators in Congress voted against, including an expansion of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) to compensate the plight of the Downwinders in New Mexico. Despite that, the entirely Democrat delegation (due to partisan gerrymandering) voted against it.

Lujan Grisham blamed Trump and Congressional Republicans for the legislation, blasting what she called a lack of “hearings, debate and transparency”—even though the bill went through regular order in both chambers and was widely praised for simplifying the tax code and eliminating waste. Just in its last hurdle, the bill suffered 12 grueling hours of Democrat grandstanding in a House committee and hours of bloviating from Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York on the House floor before final passage.

The governor vowed to “fight like hell” to stop what she described as a “fiscal assault,” suggesting her administration would comb through the bill looking for ways to push back.

Political observers say her reaction underscores the growing frustration among Democrat leaders as Trump racks up legislative wins during his second term. With the economy rebounding, inflation stabilizing, and Trump’s approval surging, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is being hailed by Americans as a turning point — or a “Golden Age” of American greatness.

In contrast, Lujan Grisham’s dramatic response is being mocked by critics as political theater. “She’s triggered because Trump delivered what Democrats never could: prosperity through freedom, not handouts,” said one GOP strategist.

As Trump prepares to sign the bill on Independence Day, it’s clear who’s celebrating—and who’s seething.

President Trump’s border crackdown scores major win in New Mexico

In a resounding win for law and order on the southern border, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico has secured the first two criminal convictions under military trespass and defense property security statutes, underscoring the success of bold new enforcement tools spearheaded under the Trump administration’s border security vision.

The landmark convictions come just months after a National Defense Area (NDA) was established along a critical stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border in New Mexico, bolstering the military’s authority to deter unlawful entry into the United States. The NDA—a 60-foot-wide, 170-mile-long military-controlled zone managed by the U.S. Army—was approved in April 2025, marking a historic moment in the fight to shut down illegal crossings in some of the most vulnerable parts of the border.

These newly enforced statutes, Title 50 U.S.C. § 797 and Title 18 U.S.C. § 1382, authorize federal criminal penalties for those who violate security regulations or trespass onto military property. Now, for the first time, they have been successfully deployed to crack down on repeated illegal entries by criminal trespassers.

Andres De Los Santos-Martinez and Eduardo Herrera-Juvencio, both Mexican nationals previously deported, were arrested on June 1, 2025, in Doña Ana County after unlawfully re-entering the United States through a non-designated location within the National Defense Area. Both men had already been warned in Spanish during prior apprehensions on May 7 that they were entering a restricted military zone—yet they returned in flagrant violation of federal law. Each pleaded guilty to re-entry after deportation, willfully violating defense property security regulations, and military trespass.

“These first convictions reflect the resolve of the United States Attorney’s Office to do its part in securing our nation’s southern border,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison, who has made prosecuting border-related crimes a top priority. “I am tremendously proud of our staff in the Las Cruces Branch Office, the U.S. Border Patrol, and the U.S. military for their relentless efforts to secure our southern border. New Mexico—and the entire country—is more secure because of these efforts.”

The NDA, clearly marked with signs in both English and Spanish warning of federal prosecution for unauthorized entry, is one of the most aggressive and innovative tools yet implemented to fight criminal trespass along the border—an idea long championed by President Donald J. Trump during his administration. The success of this enforcement signals what is possible when federal, military, and border authorities work hand-in-hand.

Chief Patrol Agent Walter N. Slosar of the U.S. Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector echoed that sentiment: “Let this send the message that entering the United States illegally is a crime; and if you do so in an area marked as a National Defense Area, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and removed far from the border.”

The convictions represent a sharp departure from the lawlessness tolerated under previous administrations, and a much-needed return to accountability at the southern border. The defendants remain in federal custody awaiting sentencing and will face deportation following completion of their prison terms.

The cases were investigated by the U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector and are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark Saltman and Alyson Hehr.

‘86 47’: Radical leftists call for Trump’s death at NM ‘No Kings’ protests

On Saturday, far-left extremists descended on cities across New Mexico as part of the so-called “No Kings” protests — a loosely coordinated attack on President Donald J. Trump’s leadership, the U.S. Constitution, and the very fabric of civil society. While organizers claimed the demonstrations were a “peaceful” response to what they falsely allege is Trump’s desire to become a monarch, the reality was far darker — and far more dangerous.

In Albuquerque, protesters carried severed heads of President Trump on spikes and held up signs depicting guillotines, a not-so-subtle call for violent political revolution. The shocking displays were topped only by the desecration of the American flag — flown upside down in multiple locations — while Mexican flags were hoisted in its place, a deliberate signal of contempt for American sovereignty and patriotism.

At one protest, a woman was photographed wearing a sash reading “86 47,” an unmistakable code suggesting the assassination of the 45th and 47th president of the United States.

In Santa Fe, outside the Roundhouse, demonstrators paraded with crudely made, misspelled signs, including one that read: “R WE GREAT YE?” — an ironic twist for those claiming to oppose authoritarianism while simultaneously calling for political violence.

Violence wasn’t just symbolic — it was literal. In Las Cruces, a Trump supporter reported being assaulted by leftist demonstrators on motorcycles. The victim described the harrowing incident on X, writing:

“Just got assaulted and rushed by some bikers here in Las Cruces. They stole my MAGA Flag. I was in my car at an intersection. The light was red. Right by the District Court building.”

A police report was reportedly filed on the altercation.

These disturbing acts come in the wake of nationwide leftist riots, most recently in Los Angeles, where criminal aliens and anarchists clashed with federal agents, burning buildings and land, setting police cars on fire, looting local shops and stores, and taking over streets in a forceful rage. But instead of condemning the lawlessness, New Mexico’s Democrat leaders have poured fuel on the fire. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has vigorously defended anti-ICE rioters. Even more outrageously, U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich was caught on video calling police officers “f—ing thugs,” shocking law-abiding New Mexicans and revealing the Democrat Party’s growing hostility toward law enforcement.

These “No Kings” protests were intentionally timed to coincide with Flag Day, the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army, and President Trump’s birthday — a calculated act of provocation. Instead of celebrating America, protesters celebrated anarchy. Instead of peaceful dissent, they chose mayhem.

As Democrats continue to coddle and embolden radicals, it’s clear the “No Kings” movement isn’t about resisting tyranny — it’s about ushering it in through chaos, intimidation, and violence.

Lujan Grisham fueled LA riots — Now she wants ‘order’ in NM

Just days after defending violent anti-Trump agitators in Los Angeles who attacked federal agents and torched city blocks, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is now laughably claiming she has “zero tolerance” for violence during upcoming protests across the Land of Enchantment.

Following the lawless chaos in L.A., where criminal illegal aliens and leftist extremists clashed with federal officers, Lujan Grisham signed on to a Democratic Governors Association (DGA) statement blasting President Trump for deploying the National Guard to restore order. The DGA outrageously accused Trump of “abusing power,” while completely ignoring the fact that federal agents were under siege and risking their lives to stop the insurrection.

Critics swiftly condemned the Democrat governors’ defense of the mob. “Every Democrat governor just endorsed lawlessness and chaos on American streets,” wrote the Republican Governors Association. “Putting people’s lives at risk.”

Lujan Grisham’s own record leaves no room for ambiguity. From removing National Guard troops from New Mexico’s southern border on day one of her governorship, to mocking Trump’s border wall in a campaign stunt, and more recently, signing laws to shield criminal aliens and permit non-citizens to police U.S. citizens, she has consistently sided with open borders and against law enforcement.

Now, as “No Kings Day” protests spread across New Mexico this weekend—with events planned in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Alamogordo, and more—Lujan Grisham is suddenly posturing as the enforcer of law and order.

Asked by KOAT what she expects from the protests, the governor declared: “Demonstrate their opinions in a peaceful, meaningful way, and we will have zero tolerance for violence and illegal acts.”

But the protests she’s now pretending to police are being fueled by the same far-left forces she defended just days earlier. These “No Kings” events are part of the so-called “50501 Movement”—a coalition of radical progressive activists staging anti-Trump demonstrations across all 50 states, including at least 17 locations in New Mexico alone on June 14.

While organizers claim the events are peaceful, they are bankrolled by some of the most extreme groups on the left: the National Education Association (NEA), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the League of Conservation Voters, the Human Rights Campaign, Bernie Sanders’ campaign network, the far-left “Center for Biological Diversity,” and even the “Patriotic Millionaires” who push anti-capitalist policies while living in luxury. These are the same kinds of dark-money-backed entities that fueled violence in L.A., where anarchists, criminal aliens, and Antifa-aligned mobs openly attacked law enforcement.

Here in New Mexico, the movement is using the occasion of Flag Day—also President Trump’s birthday and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army—to sow division and provoke unrest. Their own rhetoric makes it clear. “The wannabe dictator wants a party? Well then, let’s show him some ‘love,’” one post read on social media.

The movement brags that it’s organizing protests “everywhere he isn’t” while calling for “no thrones, no crowns, no kings”—language that critics say is designed to incite rather than inspire.

And New Mexicans are right to be wary. Under Lujan Grisham’s far-left administration, crime has surged so severely that she had to call in the National Guard to help control the streets of Albuquerque—a city already suffering under Democrat Mayor Tim Keller’s failed leadership. Now, those same streets may become the next front in a nationwide campaign of coordinated chaos.

Despite all this, Lujan Grisham wants the public to believe she’s suddenly against violence. After helping stoke the flames of rebellion in Los Angeles, her last-minute pivot to “zero tolerance” rings hollow.

New Mexicans won’t be fooled. They know exactly where their governor stands—and it isn’t with law enforcement or the law-abiding public. It’s with the mob.

One Big, Beautiful Bill: Anything but Devastating

Democrats are the best in the world at making terrible things sound great and positive things sound… devastating. Unfortunately for them, we as New Mexicans think for ourselves and use our own judgment to determine what’s best for our families. Despite what they tell us, New Mexicans know how damaging the decades of unchecked Democrat rule have been to our state. We also witness daily the negative impacts of the radical progressive agenda that has run our state into the ground with the worst education outcomes, worst public safety, and highest rates of reliance on government assistance programs in our country.

Once again, prominent Democrat leaders are misleading New Mexicans and insulting our intelligence.

This time, they are deceptively targeting House Resolution 1 (H.R. 1) a.k.a ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ as being “devastating.” Even more unhinged rhetoric about H.R. 1 came from Governor Lujan Grisham when she claimed the passage of this legislation would lead to people and children dying. This ridiculous political messaging begs the question: “What’s so devastating or potentially lethal in this bill?”

Apparently, Rep. Stansbury, Governor Lujan Grisham, and the rest of the progressives think the following reforms included in H.R. 1 are catastrophic:

  • No tax on tips received by service industry workers (ie. servers, hairdressers, drivers)
  • No tax on overtime pay earned by hard-working employees
  • Tax breaks for Senior Citizens
  • $1,000 savings accounts for ALL children born between 2024-2028
  • Making Child Tax Credits permanent
  • Elimination of proven waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars
  • Increased funding for Border Security
  • Increased funding for National Security

I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t sound ‘devastating,’ and it certainly doesn’t sound lethal to people and/or children. It sounds like real economic reform that empowers hard-working American families… something progressive Democrats promise to us during election campaigns but never deliver. To our Democrat leaders: Be responsible and report the facts. Fear-mongering New Mexicans insults our intelligence and causes division.

State Sen. Jim Townsend of Artesia represents District 34, previously serving in the New Mexico House of Representatives, including as the House Republican Leader.

MLG, Dems livid after U.S. House passes Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’

In a triumphant moment for conservatives and the America First movement, President Donald J. Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” (BBB) passed the U.S. House by a razor-thin vote of 215–214, triggering an all-out meltdown from New Mexico Democrats and their allies on the far left. Contrarian Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) voted with Democrats on the bill on concerns of reckless spending, despite in 2023 voting to let Joe Biden raise the debt ceiling. Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) also joined Democrats and Massie in rejecting the bill that protects the Second Amendment and the country.

The historic legislation—a masterstroke of pro-growth policy, border security, and Second Amendment reinforcement—sent liberals into a frenzy. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and others unleashed emotional tirades over provisions prioritizing national sovereignty, economic opportunity, and constitutional freedoms. All of New Mexico’s U.S. House representatives rejected the monumental bill.

“The passage of this bill is a monumental win for American families, small businesses, gun owners, and patriots who believe in secure borders and free markets,” said Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), who helped spearhead provisions to deregulate firearm suppressors. “This is a 2A victory and a direct hit on bloated bureaucracy.”

But while the rest of the country celebrates, New Mexico Democrats are in full panic mode.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham fumed, claiming the BBB “attacks Medicaid, jeopardizes food benefits for children, and undermines our progress on clean energy.” She failed to mention that the bill contains the largest middle-class tax cut in American history and reforms long-abused welfare programs to prioritize self-sufficiency and integrity. It does not, however, “attack” these programs.

Even more absurdly, Rep. Melanie Stansbury — red-faced and flustered during a press scrum — declared the bill’s funding of the border wall, Trump’s proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense shield, and national security enhancements as dangerous.

The hysterics weren’t limited to Capitol Hill. The New Mexico Democrat Party joined in, issuing a statement that the bill “will be deadly,” conveniently ignoring that their own party added $6 trillion in debt under Biden with nothing to show but inflation, energy dependence, and open borders.

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez chimed in with her own apocalyptic claims, accusing Republicans of orchestrating “the largest transfer of wealth from the working class to the ultra-rich in American history.” Her screed overlooked the permanent expansion of the small business deduction, protections for family farms, and tax cuts for tipped workers like waitstaff and drivers — real benefits already lauded by groups like the Job Creators Network and Uber.

Rep. Gabe Vasquez also chimed in with the same tired and discredited talking points, much the same as Fernandez and Stansbury.

In contrast to the doomsday rhetoric from Democrats, industry leaders and advocacy groups celebrated the bill’s provisions:

The National Rifle Association praised the removal of suppressors from the National Firearms Act, calling it a “monumental victory for Second Amendment rights.”

Farm Bureau, Cattlemen’s Association, and National Pork Producers Council highlighted reforms that support family farms and protect food supply chains.

Border Czar Tom Homan applauded new funding to expand ICE operations, enhance wall construction, and combat child and drug trafficking.

The American Petroleum Institute cheered restored American energy dominance and the rollback of Biden-era methane fees.

Claims that BBB will devastate Medicaid and SNAP are baseless fear-mongering. The bill implements eligibility reviews, anti-fraud measures, and streamlined assistance reforms backed by most Americans. Even the alleged $500 billion in Medicare “cuts” are nothing more than trimming waste and fraud, not touching a dime of guaranteed benefits.

And yes — the bill includes funding for the Golden Dome, a groundbreaking anti-missile defense shield to protect against threats like China, Russia, and rogue nations.

At the end of the day, the BBB is about America First. It’s about freedom, prosperity, and security. That’s why the radical left is screaming. They’ve lost control — and the people are taking their country back.

Now, the bill heads to the U.S. Senate. Americans across the nation are urging their senators to finish the job. Let the Democrats wail — the future belongs to those who build it, not those who tear it down.

MLG uses national TV spot to spread strange border lies and Medicaid panic

In a revealing interview on CBS’s Face the Nation Sunday, lame duck far-left Democrat New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham doubled down on failed progressive policies while lobbing partisan attacks at Republicans, defending a bloated Medicaid system, and criticizing common-sense border security initiatives championed by popular President Donald Trump.

Grisham, who governs the state with the highest Medicaid enrollment per capita, railed against proposed Republican Medicaid reforms, calling them a “disaster” and accusing conservatives of wanting to “destroy health care as we know it.” Despite acknowledging that over 70% of her state’s Medicaid budget comes from federal funds, she offered no realistic plan for sustainability—only vague assurances that New Mexico would “do everything they can” to fill the gap.

In a fearmongering tirade, Grisham claimed that rolling back Medicaid would result in hospital closures, higher maternal mortality, and even child deaths, stating, “People will die. Children will die.” This doomsday rhetoric ignored the legitimate fiscal concerns of a rapidly growing Medicaid system that critics argue has become bloated, wasteful, and riddled with fraud.

Rather than consider accountability or reform, the governor shifted blame and evoked the name of her Republican predecessor, Susana Martinez, accusing her administration of gutting behavioral health services during a recession—an assertion that oversimplifies a complex financial crisis the state faced at the time.

Grisham’s comments also took aim at the Trump administration’s newly declared National Defense Area along the New Mexico-Mexico border, a move aimed at cracking down on illegal crossings and enhancing national security. The governor dismissed the military’s involvement in securing the border as “disconcerting,” bizarrely likening the display of American tanks to constitutional violations.

She further insisted that immigration enforcement efforts—particularly ICE raids—are a larger concern than actual illegal border crossings, which she falsely claimed are at “the lowest” levels in years, despite record surges and mass releases under the Biden administration.

“I don’t think it is,” Grisham said when asked if the new military-secured zone helped address illegal immigration. Instead, she offered vague calls for more asylum access, suggesting that border policy should not “just be doing that to South Africans,” a non-sequitur that confused even some viewers.

The governor’s tone-deaf interview highlights how out of step she remains with voters who want secure borders, responsible governance, and fiscal reform, not more fearmongering, excuses, and ideological obstruction.

Sketchy Gabe Vasquez declares war on Trump in Trump country

In New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District — a district President Donald Trump decisively carried in 2024 — far-left Democrat Gabe Vasquez continues to alienate his constituents by doubling down on radical opposition to the president’s commonsense agenda.

Since Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025, Vasquez has taken every opportunity to obstruct policies overwhelmingly supported by working Americans. Earlier this year, Vasquez voted against the Laken Riley Act, a commonsense bill requiring the detention of illegal aliens accused of serious crimes. Despite bipartisan support for this basic public safety measure, Vasquez instead sided with open-borders extremists, choosing the interests of criminal aliens over the safety of American citizens.

Worse yet, Vasquez opposed President Trump’s efforts to strengthen election integrity, including legislation to ban non-citizens from voting in local, state, and federal elections. Even though the overwhelming majority of Americans — including many Democrats — support restricting voting rights exclusively to U.S. citizens, Vasquez showed where his loyalties lie: with the radical left, not the voters of southern New Mexico.

At a recent town hall event in Las Cruces, Vasquez launched into a bitter tirade against President Trump, blasting the administration’s “immigration crackdowns” and accusing Trump of promoting “fear and division” — rhetoric more at home in deep blue New York City or Washington, D.C. than in Trump country New Mexico.

His contempt for the president is especially clear in his unhinged fundraising emails.

In two recent blasts to his donor list, Vasquez ranted about Trump’s investigation into ActBlue, the Democrat fundraising giant facing mounting scrutiny for suspected widespread fraud. In one email, Vasquez seethed:

“Donald Trump just signed a memorandum targeting ActBlue — the grassroots fundraising platform that powers nearly every Democratic campaign in the country — in an attempt to shut it down… Trump knows that grassroots movements like ours are the only thing standing between him and total control.”

Rather than addressing the credible allegations of financial misconduct surrounding ActBlue — including concerns about illicit foreign donations and donor fraud — Vasquez played the victim, calling Trump’s efforts to safeguard campaign finance laws an “attack” and a “rigging of the system.”

In another desperate appeal, Vasquez went even further, lashing out at Trump’s economic policies and bizarrely blaming the president for New Mexico’s economic woes:

“Trump’s economic policies are a disaster for the country and the world… Instead, they’re falling in line and remaining silent. They are letting Trump drag our economy into chaos.”

Vasquez even bragged about teaming up with radical leftist Senator Cory Booker to introduce legislation targeting private companies like those owned by Elon Musk — a transparent publicity stunt that does nothing to help New Mexico’s struggling farmers and ranchers.

For a man representing a district that overwhelmingly voted for President Trump, Vasquez’s nonstop hostility toward the administration is nothing short of political malpractice. Instead of working with President Trump to secure the border, lower inflation, and restore law and order, Vasquez seems more concerned with playing resistance warrior for a Washington, D.C. donor class out of touch with New Mexican values.

With his reckless and sketchy voting record, repeated attacks on the president, and open disdain for his own constituents’ priorities, Gabe Vasquez is making it clear: he’s not interested in representing the people of southern New Mexico — he’s only interested in fighting Trump at every turn.

Voters will remember.

Meet NM’s new Trump-appointed US Attorney, Ryan Ellison

In a bold move, reinforcing the Trump administration’s enduring focus on law and order, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Ryan Ellison as the new U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico. His swearing-in took place today before U.S. District Judge Margaret Strickland, marking a new chapter in federal crime enforcement for the state.

Ellison’s appointment signals a renewed and vigorous federal push to crack down on the unchecked crime and border chaos that has plagued New Mexico for years under weak Democrat rule. A native of Alamogordo, Ellison brings a wealth of prosecutorial experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing his home state. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 2010 with a degree in business, he earned both his J.D. and MBA from Texas Tech University in 2013 — a combination that reflects a keen mind for both legal and strategic management.

For the past six years, Ellison has worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Las Cruces, where he helped lead the charge in what has become the largest criminal case ever prosecuted in the state: the takedown of the dangerous Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico (SNM) prison gang. “To date, more than 175 SNM gang members and associates have been charged with serious federal crimes,” a spokesperson for the district office noted. The sheer scope of the prosecution speaks volumes about Ellison’s resolve to dismantle violent criminal enterprises operating in New Mexico.

In addition to gang prosecutions, Ellison has pursued some of the most violent and heinous offenders in the state, handling cases involving RICO conspiracies, murder-for-hire, kidnapping resulting in death, and national security threats — a resume that reflects the tough-on-crime stance championed during the Trump administration.

Now taking the helm of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ellison made it clear that his mission is aligned with President Trump’s America First philosophy. “For however long I serve as United States Attorney, my primary objective will be to keep New Mexicans safe through the vigorous enforcement of Federal law,” he said. “Under my leadership… we will do our part to stem the unlawful flow of people and drugs into our country.”

Ellison didn’t mince words about the threats posed by open-border policies and progressive prosecutors who’ve turned a blind eye to cartel violence and human trafficking. “We will not lose sight of our responsibility to combat violent crime, gang activity, child predators, and to zealously advocate on behalf of the United States’ civil interests,” he stated.

His past roles as Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney for Violent and General Crimes, Assistant District Attorney, and private practice attorney round out a professional profile that combines deep courtroom experience with practical knowledge of New Mexico’s legal landscape.

As New Mexico battles rising crime, drug trafficking, and cartel infiltration, Ellison’s appointment is a promising shift toward accountability and security. His leadership, rooted in prosecutorial toughness and constitutional law enforcement, could mark a turning point for a state long plagued by lawlessness.

With a fearless and unapologetic stance on enforcing federal laws and securing the border, Ryan Ellison stands as a testament to the pro-Trump law-and-order legacy — one that puts the safety of American families and the sovereignty of the nation above political gamesmanship.
