Two of NM’s US House reps. reject deporting illegal alien pedos, killers

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, a bill introduced by Republican Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina.

This legislation mandates the deportation or inadmissibility of illegal immigrants convicted of sex offenses, domestic violence, stalking, child abuse, or violating protection orders. The measure passed with a 266-158 vote, with every Republican and 51 Democrats in favor, while 158 Democrats opposed it.

Among New Mexico’s delegation, Rep. Gabe Vasquez was the sole vote in favor of the bill. Reps. Teresa Leger Fernandez and Melanie Stansbury voted against the measure, joining the majority of their Democratic colleagues in opposition.

The bill, which has sparked intense debate, comes at a time when immigration policies remain a contentious issue. Proponents, including Rep. Mace, argue the legislation addresses safety concerns, specifically targeting individuals convicted of heinous crimes.

In a statement provided to Newsweek, Mace criticized opponents, saying, “158 Left-wing members of Congress just voted against deporting rapists, pedophiles, and murderers of women and kids.”

Opponents, however, contend that the bill unfairly targets immigrants and could have unintended consequences for survivors of domestic violence. Representative Pramila Jayapal, a vocal critic, stated during the debate, “Scapegoating immigrants and attempting to weaponize the crime of domestic violence is appearing to be a time-honored tradition for Republicans.” She also warned that the bill might deter survivors from coming forward due to fears of deportation.

As the bill moves to the Senate, the votes of New Mexico’s representatives highlight the state’s varied perspectives on immigration and crime policy. While Vasquez’s vote may appeal to constituents favoring stricter immigration enforcement, Leger Fernandez and Stansbury’s opposition reflects a commitment to safeguarding immigrant rights and seeking comprehensive reforms.

  1. Of course they did, I would say that they would have a different opinion if something happened to one of their family, but they would have to actually live without security in order for that to happen. Traitors to this country.

  2. Marcello T. Hinojosa

Reject all you want. You can’t stop the majority. It won’t happen overnight but it will happen. 🇺🇸

  3. This is disgusting. Either deport them or put them in jail and don’t let them out. Bring back the death penalty and enforce it. I don’t care if they are illegal or not, do the crime, do the time.

  4. Vasquez must have an ulterior motive by voting with the R’s on deportation. His background needs to be closely looked at as well.

  5. Their training in the Marxist schools that spawned them compels them to advocate for criminals and ignore the victims.

  6. Why is the bill focused on women? Men can’t be victims of sexual predators?
By definition, that law is sexist– it seeks to protect one group over another.
If something is going to be done, at least ensure equal protection under the law is a clear intention…

With recitivism at somewhere in the 90% range for sexual predators, there is really only one clear solution… it’s not pretty, but, it comes with a 100% guarantee they won’t offend again. Ever.

  7. Pleasantly surprised with Gabe. I am not a fan, I have seen him in action and he is not stupid. Someone would have to be stupid to not vote yes on the bill. I agree he has other motives, my guess is to later fight to keep non violent illegals in. I just want our state marxist leaders to use every way possible to keep illegals in New Mexico so the border Zar can arrest them for interfering with the process.

  8. The law needs to be upheld and executed. And MLG and her comrades need to be removed by office. First MLG needs to be impeached. And the rest need to not be voted in on the next election cycle.

  9. If I catch any IILEGALS trying to hurt my family I will be Judge Jury and they are going to wish they never met me

  10. Tragically, as usual NM is out of step with normal, mainstream values. Look at the county by county map of the Presidential Election results. Something wrong with our state…Primarily Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

  11. New Mexico is a Third World Sh*thole and has been for decades.

HOW MANY of our elected representatives are enabling human trafficking and have knowledge of the 350,000 missing children ?

Our state is a glaring hole in defending our country.
