Triggered: MLG has full-blown meltdown over Trump’s ‘Beautiful’ budget bill

Far-left Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham erupted in outrage Tuesday following final passage of President Donald J. Trump’s sweeping federal budget overhaul, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The legislation, which passed Congress with GOP majorities and is set to be signed by Trump on the Fourth of July, marks a dramatic reshaping of the federal budget, delivering major tax relief to working Americans and slashing bloated bureaucratic programs.

Lujan Grisham, who has built her administration on expanding state dependency programs and inflating New Mexico’s government spending, issued a scathing statement in which she declared the budget an “abomination,” claiming it was “a betrayal” and warning of supposed “threats” to New Mexicans.

“The Republican budget bill is an abomination that abandons working families and threatens the health and well-being of New Mexicans,” she claimed, despite the bill’s focus on reducing the federal tax burden and prioritizing local control. Lujan Grisham went on to accuse Republicans of “slashing funding for health care and child nutrition to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-rich,” echoing stale class warfare rhetoric.

But the governor’s fiery tirade seemed less about facts and more about partisan fury. In what some critics have called a “meltdown,” Lujan Grisham floated the idea of calling a state special session—not to address state needs, but seemingly to air her grievances with a federal bill she has no authority over.

“Make no mistake,” she fumed, “this Republican budget will hit New Mexico hard.” She then ticked off a series of apocalyptic predictions—from cuts to Medicaid and education to tax hikes on electricity—despite no such measures being confirmed in the final budget text.

The bill, which all of New Mexico’s three representatives and two senators in Congress voted against, including an expansion of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) to compensate the plight of the Downwinders in New Mexico. Despite that, the entirely Democrat delegation (due to partisan gerrymandering) voted against it.

Lujan Grisham blamed Trump and Congressional Republicans for the legislation, blasting what she called a lack of “hearings, debate and transparency”—even though the bill went through regular order in both chambers and was widely praised for simplifying the tax code and eliminating waste. Just in its last hurdle, the bill suffered 12 grueling hours of Democrat grandstanding in a House committee and hours of bloviating from Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York on the House floor before final passage.

The governor vowed to “fight like hell” to stop what she described as a “fiscal assault,” suggesting her administration would comb through the bill looking for ways to push back.

Political observers say her reaction underscores the growing frustration among Democrat leaders as Trump racks up legislative wins during his second term. With the economy rebounding, inflation stabilizing, and Trump’s approval surging, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is being hailed by Americans as a turning point — or a “Golden Age” of American greatness.

In contrast, Lujan Grisham’s dramatic response is being mocked by critics as political theater. “She’s triggered because Trump delivered what Democrats never could: prosperity through freedom, not handouts,” said one GOP strategist.

As Trump prepares to sign the bill on Independence Day, it’s clear who’s celebrating—and who’s seething.

  1. if your people aren’t educated and don’t vote, she can say anything and no one knows the difference.

  2. if the threat to Medicaid and SNAP benefits is so dire, maybe we can use those 10 million bucks allocated to an abortion center for them. just a suggestion.

  3. She can just get over it. This is what the majority of We The People voted for. At least we finally have someone who truly fights for the working class.

  4. The only cuts to Medicaid? – Outrageous OVERpayment to states and a work requirement for able bodied adults. At home Mothers w/young children, disabled(physical and mental) and seniors are excluded. Don’t let her pearl clutching fool you. The states have been reaping overpayment for years from the federal government. FINALLY we have a President brave enough to say ENOUGH!

  5. She’s the one who expanded Medicaid and dumped hundreds of thousands on the rolls making it untenable for the rest of us working folks and actual citizens of NM to get healthcare at an affordable rate.

  6. MLG… you are a bag of hot air, no substance just drama. Your MO is not taken seriously for those who have known you since the Richardson era.

I will celebrate your departure by watching the Wizard of Oz.. guess what happens to the wicked witch?? It’s not a meltdown.

  7. Lies, lies and more LIES from Democrats who HATE America and especially from MLG who hates NM and continues to do everything she can to punish the state on her way out the door. There are no cuts to Medicaid, unless you’re in the country illegally, and as outlined by the NM Political Journal, spending actually increases; just not by as much as socialist Dems want in order to keep their constituents u under their control.

The following is copied direct from a New Mexico Political Journal post……

DEMOCRATS—and the Media—are LYING ABOUT MEDICAID “CUTS” — WE EXPLAIN EXACTLY HOW
Despite what you hear or read 20 times a day, even if the so-called Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) passes, the federal outlays for Medicaid will not be cut one penny.
Here is the disconnect: Republicans and Democrats have always thought differently about the concept of spending. Here’s a brief explanation:
Let’s say you and your spouse are currently spending $1,000 for your monthly grocery store purchases and are budgeting to spend $1,200 next month.
When the next month ends however, you find you spent only $1,100. How would each major political party analyze your spending ?
Democrats would say you “cut” your spending by $100 — because your budget “projection” was $100 higher than you actually spent.
GOP members, on the other hand, would reason that you “increased” your spending by $100, since your spending rose from $1,000 to $1,100.
    NATIONAL MEDICAID SPENDING
This year, the federal government will spend $656 billion on Medicaid. Under the BBB, next year’s federal Medicaid spending will reach $676 billion and in FY 2027 it will hit $697 billion.
Those are increases of $20 billion and $21 billion respectively for a total 2-year increase of $41 billion. The spending represents increases of 3% each year—which is HIGHER than the rate of inflation.
However, here’s the catch: the Democrats want to keep raising the outlays at the rate of 4.5%, no matter what. So, with that in mind, the Democrats “planned” to spend $700 billion next year and $730 billion in 2027, for a total 2-year increase of $74 billion.
So rather than admitting that Medicaid spending will rise by $41 billion over the next two years (basic math), the Democrats and their media allied choose to holler that the Republicans are “cutting” Medicaid by $33 billion over the same timeframe.
As you can see on the chart, with the BBB, Medicaid spending will rise by $200 billion over the next decade. But Democrats see it as a “cut” of $161 billion.
WHO IS CORRECT? WHICH MATH DO YOU BELIEVE?
We have a national debt of more than $36 trillion. The Republicans are trying to begin to address the problem, perhaps not as aggressively as many would like, but they’re making a start.
On the flipside, Democrats are always looking to win elections and win back or maintain power. With that goal in mind, they see no upside in helping reduce our crippling national debt—as they don’t believe they would get any credit for it.
We disagree. We believe Americans would appreciate such a patriotic bipartisan effort on behalf of all of us.
But the Democratic Party continues to see rank, cynical demagoguery as their best path to power. And it’s a very sad reflection on their values.

  8. Guess a lot of her lazy, sit at home and get paid to do it will now have to get off their butts and find a job. Oh wait, there are no probes in New Mexico. No company wants to come here. So the lazy will have to leave the state and that might affect the representatives for the state. Oh my!

  9. I could side with our governor if NM was one of the top states in the Nation. But wait, New Mexico is 2nd to the last for – Education, Health, Poverty Level. So our governor has fixed NM to be the best state in the nation, how about one of the top 25 states? No 2nd to last, her words mean nothing, it is like your 12 year old telling you he/she knows best.

    1. Dru Tagliapietra

Last in education, health care sucks because we don’t have enough doctors, but let’s build 2 abortion clinics.

  10. This midget witch belongs in a mental institution, along with all the other dems in D.C. and their voters.

  11. many informed comments here . her outrage is as phony as she is. she has done more damage to our health care system than congress ever could. she fired health care workers that wouldnt take the garbage vaccine, and let the lawyers in the legislature continue to sue our healthcare organizations right out of business. she let doctors malpractice insurance rates spike beyond anything reasonable, and 4x that of neighboring states. take a hike MLG, your BS doesnt cut it. You look more like a lizard person than we do.

  12. MLG has her head so far up her butt that she hasn’t seen daylight since she was twenty YOA and that was a long a long time ago. JF

  13. MLG is just pissed because she and her cronies are going to have a harder time to finish lining their pockets before her term is over. Thank Goodness this is her last term. But, it’s kinda scary to see who will replace her. New Mexico votes Democrat, no matter what their policy is. Most of the people in this State hasn’t got a clue. They vote that way just because that’s the way their family has always voted. God help us all in NM.

    1. We had better hope that Deb hann dosent make it cause we will be jumping from the frying pan to the fire! She dosent even do the job now or know what her role is in the job she was elected to do! Please don’t let this happen New Mexico! We won’t be last any longer cause we will be in the negative placement… seriously!

  14. MLG is so upset, you’d think someone landed a house on her sister.

I’m trying to remember if this was a quote from MLG, or Governor Lepetomane:
“We have to protect our phoney baloney jobs here, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately! Immediately! Immediately! Harrumph! Harrumph! Harrumph!”

  15. She’s now the wrong person , in the wrong place, at the wrong time. She has become TOTALLY IRRELEVANT, by the stroke of a pen.

  16. Geee… all the Governor’s slush-fund money is drying up.
This is an EMERGENCY — ‘Get Bill Richardson on the phone!
Maybe we could build ANOTHER Spaceport to hide $220,000,000 so MLG can play rico suave…. or, how about some more Exit Ramps to nowhere on the I-25?
Is the Territorial Insane Asylum still open up in Las Vegas?
She could recruit votes there to pass more boondoggles if she plays her cards correctly. lol

  17. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Now you might have some idea of what most New Mexicans have been dealing with since you and Biden have been in charge.
    Begone Satan!!!!!

  18. The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) is to compensate the plight of the Downwinders in New Mexico, think Tularosa downwinders. through the years, Ben Ray and Theresa talked a good game but cratered to the democratic narrative instead of supporting these citizens of the state of NM. Ben Ray had already collected on his father and I think his mother through the EEOICPA, a similar program for uranium workers. It paid $150,000 each. He could have fought to increase the payment to at least that level, but he chose to not suppost the citizens of New Mexico by not even supporting this bill.

  19. I agree and the Dems are scaring most of the unknowing population here and nationally spewing their lies.

What is really sad, it’s harder to deport illegals than it is to kill babies. Something she and her ilk must be proud of.

  20. The sooner New Mexicans wake up and quit voting for sandbaggers like Moochie Loserjan Gruesome, sissy boy Benny Loserjan, Hiney-lick, Pretty boy Tim Keller, and the rest of the Dembocrap reps that have bilked New Mexico the better off we will be! To see Moochie Loserjan dragged out of the roundhouse in handcuffs will be a glorious day!!
