Trump adds NM to states on his ‘aggressive’ electoral map expansion

45th President Donald Trump expressed his intention to “aggressively” compete in states like New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Minnesota, and New Mexico, aiming to conduct rallies and speeches as part of his campaign strategy, according to a new report from Breitbart News.

“One of the other things I’m going to do — and I may be foolish in doing it — is I’m going to make a heavy play for New York, heavy play for New Jersey, heavy play for Virginia, heavy play for New Mexico, and a heavy play for a state that hasn’t been won in years, Minnesota,” Trump said in a lengthy interview with the outlet.

Trump referred to this approach as a “heavy play” for these states, acknowledging that he might not invest as much effort as in traditional battleground states. He mentioned the possibility of holding a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City, highlighting its significance as the “belly of the beast” in a Democratic stronghold.

“The last time a Republican won any of those five states was in 2004 when incumbent GOP president George W. Bush won New Mexico in his reelection bid after having lost New Mexico back in 2000,” Breitbart noted of the states on Trump’s radar.

The Breitbart interview delved into Trump’s connections to New York, where he built his real estate empire, and New Jersey, where he spent summers post-presidency. Trump mentioned the migration crisis and other issues as factors that might make these states more competitive for the GOP.

Trump also criticized New York City’s current state, emphasizing the changes since he left eight years ago. He expressed concerns about issues such as migrants living on Madison Avenue, challenges accessing hospitals and schools, rising crime rates, and a housing crisis.

Despite recognizing the long odds, Trump committed to devoting resources and energy to winning states like New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, Virginia, and New Mexico. The article draws parallels to Trump’s successful strategy in the Rust Belt states during the 2016 election.

The analysis extends to the potential competitiveness of these states, citing polls and signs that indicate Trump might have a chance. Notably, a Siena College poll in late 2023 showed Trump within single digits behind Biden in New York. The article also touches on the possibility of third-party candidates influencing the election outcome.

In conclusion, the article provides insights into Trump’s ambitious plan to expand the battleground map, focusing on New Mexico and other traditionally Democratic states, and explores the potential challenges and opportunities in this strategic approach.

    1. He can’t come until he pays for his last rally. He should also be made to pay up front. Personally I don’t think we should allow any person who violated the constitution to run for any office.

      1. Please point out what part of parts of the Constitution has President Trump violated? I’ll wait while you come up with your answer.
While you’re at it, could you also enumerate the crime (or crimes) President Trump has been indicted for, tried and CONVICTED of, to justify attempting to keep him off the ballot.

      2. LOL! That was a political stunt. Alb covered Biden coming here without question. What part of the constitution did Trump violate and how did he do that?

  1. Welcome to NM Mr. President! Open invitation to you Sir!

All Republican candidates in 2024 need to have the same gumption to take NM!

    Do Better New Mexico!

I wonder how much support Trump can expect from the Republican Party here. Not much I am afraid. Consider their record.

The rank and file will support him though. He can count on me, for example.

Only Trump is ready, willing, and able to save America.

    1. You are so right. Since only one of our state leaders has done anything to try and help.fight the 6 Referendum Petitions I seriously doubt they will.help do anything worthwhile. They seem to be content with the same ole, same ole! I knew things were bad, but I had no idea until working on the Referendum Project just how bad.

  3. The person that said he can’t come here until he pays NM is a moron. Show me the receipts of all the woke Marxist politicians on the Democrat side who have come here to spread their poison like Dementio and his ilk. I hope he does come. I will be at his rally! The Hispanic people whose families have lived here for a century or more and everyone else who is a citizen should be totally mad at the influx of illegals into our poor and struggling state. Lujan Grisham is the only governor besides Newsome, who are doing nothing to stop this invasion. At least Texas and Arizona are trying! This current administration is traitorous! See Article 4, Section 4 and Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution. They are complicit in the invasion and should be pu on trial for treason and tried and shot by acting squad for treason!

  4. I strongly believe FJB won here only because we don’t really have elections here… unless you’re a democRat. I’m 100% behind President Trump. Even if you’re a “Never-Trumper” you’d be a complete fool to vote for FJB. Unless you’re enjoying the demolition of our country that has been going on since FJB began his wide swath of destruction on the day he was sworn in.

  5. I sincerely believe Trump stands a good chance of winning NM in 2024. A majority of our citizens, Democrat, Republican and Independent, are fed up with Lujan-Grisham and Joe Biden.

  6. Yolanda… the Democrats were not charged for their visit from Washington DC. You have a double standard my dear… if it’s not good for you it’s not good for the rest of the Republican Party. Educate yourself on what Trump did while he was in office and compare it to the present leader who hold office the president. I voted for Trump because he is a patriot a businessman and defender of the Constitution. Do I like his presentation??? But I’m voting for him.

  7. I love the majority of the comments except the idiots that think
Trump owes money. NM is a conservative state. Many of our conservatives think they are democrats due to the brainwashing of our children in our school systems. That old Democratic Party of our grandparents have long gone. Please remember the KKK was the enforcement arm of the democratic party for a while. Then the dems were about the poor but now they are the party of Marxism. Yes, marxism and conservatism do not mix, most NMs are for family values, not killing babies, less government, 2A delivers, will except gays but do not want there kids to be bullied by the schools to be LGBT…..or have their children sex organs cut off without parents permission by schools. Yes NM welcomes Trump, he fights for our freedoms.
