Michelle Lujan Grisham, current events, and what Zanetti brings to the race. Greg Zanetti is a retired brigadier general from the Army National Guard and a financier in Albuquerque.

Democrat state lawmaker snitches on fellow citizens

Once again, a New Mexico lawmaker is snitching on fellow New Mexicans, this time state Rep. Liz Thomson (D-Bernalillo), who is claiming that a law office in the state is making fake “religious exemptions” for people to enter the State Fair.

The far-left state legislator shared a post on Twitter from a profile that has “#F**KTrump” in the bio. The post shared appeared to show a screenshot from the Facebook account of Adam Oakey.

The post read, “Hey citizens/businesses in New Mexico: Beware of fraudulent ‘religious exemptions’ from people that have an Oakey Law Firm letterhead.” 

Thomson shared the post, writing, “Isn’t this illegal @HectorBalderas?’”

Later in the post, she thanked a commenter for saying they shared the information with KOAT 7 News. 

Thomson is known for belittling fellow New Mexicans, previously teaming up with scandal-ridden alleged groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s press secretary Nora Sackett to belittle citizens concerned over child health. Previous to that, they teamed up to mock people asking for health advice. 

Thomson also claimed Trump supporters should be “forever branded with a scarlet S for seditionist.”

The snitching from the lawmaker is nothing new, with state Sen. Bill Soules (D-Doña Ana) snitching on local businesses in his community. 

Mr. Oakey was has been contacted for comment but the Piñon Post has not immediately received a response.

Democrats hell-bent on raiding the rainy day fund to spend on socialism

Radical Democrats in the Legislature are hell-bent on spending as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time as they cling onto power in the House, Senate, and Governor’s Mansion as the 2022 elections are just right around the corner. 

According to a report from the Albuquerque Journal, Democrats are furious that New Mexicas would dare save money in the rainy day fund instead of spending it on socialism, such as the socialist“free” (taxpayer-funded) daycare slush fund passed by the Legislature, which will be appearing on the ballot in 2022 via a constitutional amendment.

“That fund is getting pretty big, and I think we need to take a look as a Legislature at how it’s structured,” Far-left House Majority Leader Javier Martínez, (D-Bernalillo), said during a legislative committee hearing last week. Martínez took over after former Majority Leader Sheryl Williams Stapleton resigned in disgrace following a decades-long corruption investigation. 

Extremist partisan Democrat Rep. Moe Maestas (D-Bernalillo) claimed, “Money sitting in an account is actually counterproductive to the future of our state.” But in a financial crisis, the state’s rainy day fund could save New Mexico from economic catastrophe. Democrats do not care. 

The Journal reports that scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham “has not announced her administration’s final plan for using $1.7 billion in federal relief funds, although some of that money has been earmarked for restoring New Mexico’s largely depleted unemployment fund and temporarily boosting wage levels for chile field workers.” 

On the Governor’s and the Democrat Legislature’s watch, New Mexicans have been plunged into poverty, over 40% of small businesses that once existed in our state are now closed, and alarmist pandemic health orders have been reimplemented, further crippling the state’s already frail economy.

Otero County Commission unanimously passes resolution against MLG’s unconstitutional edicts

On Thursday night, the Otero County Commission passed a resolution offered by Commissioner Couy Griffin to denounce the “unconstitutional” health orders signed by scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and her New Mexico Department of Health. The resolution also declared “that those officials who enforce or abide by these unconstitutional health orders violate their oaths of office and their duty to the people of NewMexico.” 

The special meeting took place at the Flickinger Center in downtown Alamogordo to accommodate the large number of individuals who made their voices heard on the resolution.

Many citizens spoke in support of the proposal, including medical professionals, veterinarians, retired Military personnel, mothers, fathers, and children. One provocateur spoke against the proposal and attempted unsuccessfully to question the Commission. All other commenters supported the resolution, which has some of the most powerful language of any other local resolution in Otero County. 

The Alamogordo Public School Board passed a benign agenda item supporting parents’ choice in schools, while the Alamogordo City Commission passed a resolution affirming its support for citizens’ rights against an overreaching government.

In a previous Alamogordo School Board meeting, the Board only allowed 15 people in the meeting due to “social distancing” and required masks for all attendees, regardless of medical exemptions or vaccination status.

The Commission through the resolution affirmed that “Otero County is authorized to make and publish resolutions necessary and proper to provide for the safety, preserve the health, promote the prosperity, and improve the morals, order, comfort and convenience of its inhabitants.”

Also, the commission affirmed that “every person, including the Board of County Commissioners, elected or appointed to any office has taken and subscribed to an oath or affirmation that he or she will support the constitution of the United States and the constitution and laws of the State of New Mexico and that he or she will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of his or her office to the best of his or her ability.” 

After public comment and a question and answer session with Otero County Sheriff David Black, the Commission unanimously passed the resolution, with Commissioners Couy Griffin, Vickie Marquardt, and Gerald Matherly all supporting the resolution.

Monday protest planned against forced vaccines at Holloman Air Force Base

On Monday, September 13, a protest is planned outside of Holloman Air Force Base against the forcible vaccination of Military service members by Joe Biden. 

According to a flyer obtained by the Piñon Post, organizers will be meeting at 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. outside of the Front Gate outside of Holloman Air Force Base outside of Alamogordo.

According to a press release from Holloman, “In accordance with the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force guidance, attestation of an individual’s status as fully vaccinated or presentation of a recent negative COVID-19 test is a condition of physical access to DOD buildings and DOD-leased spaces in non-DOD buildings in which official DOD business takes place.”

It continues:

This guidance applies to all individuals issued a credential by DOD that affords the individual recurring access, classified herein as “credentialed recurring access” (CRA) (e.g., Common Access Cardholders), to DOD facilities, and to non-DOD individuals seeking access, one time or recurring, in association with the performance of official DOD business. Regardless of whether an individual is authorized to telework or perform remote work, all DOD civilian employees and DOD contractor personnel with CRA must attest to their vaccination status by completing DD Form 3150. Civilian employees and contractor personnel who are unvaccinated for COVID-19 or who decline to attest to their COVID-19 vaccination status will be subject to COVID-19 screening testing weekly. Such civilian employees and contractor personnel who refuse required screening testing will be denied access to DOD facilities.

Individuals other than visitors seeking access to facilities located on DOD installations but operated by other Federal Departments and Agencies will follow the policies and procedures of that other Department or Agency. Visitors will follow applicable policies and procedures of both DOD and the Department or Agency they are visiting.

“After careful consultation with medical experts and military leadership, and with the support of the President, I have determined that mandatory vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is necessary to protect the Force and defend the American people,” Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin wrote in a memo released earlier this month.

The forcible vaccination and coercion of Military service members has been applauded by far-left politicians such as Alamogordo City Commissioner Nadia Sykes, who is attempting to run for the mayorship of Alamogordo. 

The base is housing at least 5,000 Afghan refugees who escaped their home country amid Joe Biden’s Afghanistan fiasco where billions of dollars in American arms were seized by the Taliban, who took over the country. It is unclear if they are being vaccinated.

Embattled Santa Fe mayor hit with ethics complaint regarding corruption, abuse of power

On Tuesday, the Hispanic cultural organization Union Protectíva de Santa Fé announced that it filed an ethics complaint this week with the Santa Fe Ethics and Campaign Review Board claiming corruption, bullying, and abuse of power by Mayor Alan Webber and his campaign.

The complaint, which is the third this election cycle according to the Santa Fe New Mexican, accuses Webber’s campaign of “bullying.” It notes messages sent out by the Webber campaign frivolously alleging “Trump MAGA” operatives are working to “take over the Mayor’s office.” It was filed by Virgil Vigil, the group, and Gilbert Romero.

The complaint also takes aim at an Ethics Commission member, Ruth Kovnat, who the group claims failed to disclose her conflicts of interest during a previous meeting handling a complaint against Webber.

“Ms. Kovnat has knowingly supported and made political contributions in multiple instances to the campaigns of Alan Webber, Brian Egolf of Egolf+ Ferlic+ Martinez+ Harwood LLC, and political action committees that regularly donate to Alan Webber’s Campaign. On or about 7/15/2021 an ethics complaint was filed against Mayor Alan Webber. Mayor Webber retained the firm of Egolf+ Ferlic + Martinez + Harwood LLC shortly thereafter. As a result of this conflict Ms. Kovnat should have immediately recused herself but failed to do so during Ethics and Campaign Review Board hearing on 8/19/2021,” the group wrote.

As well, the compliant claims Webber violated a law regarding “improper gifts” when he used a public event with the Santa Fe Fire Department to campaign for his political race for mayor — a violation of multiple laws.

“As the Mayor continues to retaliate against Hispanic, military, veteran, and Catholic families for standing up for their ideals and heritage, Union Protectiva de Santa Fé will not be intimidated,” the group wrote in a press release.

“The degree of corruption and abuse of power by Mayor Alan Webber has reached a level we have never experienced in Santa Fe,” said Vigil. “Mr. Romero and I will not be intimidated by Mayor Webber’s hateful and divisive rhetoric, nor will we stop our work advocating for our local Hispanic, military, veteran, and Catholic families in Santa Fe.”

Mayor has been widely criticized by many Hispanics and others — of both parties — for his unforgivable refusal to protect the Soldiers Monument which was destroyed by violent anarchists in 2020. Webber told the Santa Fe Police Department to stand down. He then partnered with anti-Hispanic hate groups to rip down culturally significant Hispanic and Catholic artifacts through a Marxist “Culture, History, Art, Reconciliation” commission.Since the violent insurrection at the Santa Fe Plaza, multiple Hispanic cultural artifacts and monuments have been desecrated and vandalized by domestic terrorists targeting Catholics and Hispanics.

Did MLG visit Española just to mask shame them — AGAIN?

On Wednesday, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham says she visited Española to hold a “roundtable on higher education with students, higher ed leaders, and elected officials.” There she touted her socialist plan for taxpayer-funded (not free) college. However, one thing was noticeably different in her wardrobe choice: her use of not just one — but TWO masks. She re-implemented her mask mandate in fear of the supposed“Delta” variant of the virus.

The double-masked governor in 2020 drove by Española in her taxpayer-funded chauffeur during her brutal lockdown where she scoffed at Española residents’ use of masks, even though she never even left her expensive ride to see first-hand if the residents were wearing masks. 

At the time, she said, “Last week, I traveled to Northern New Mexico, and in traveling to Northern New Mexico, I went through Española. I saw a lot of activity in Española and traveling through Main Street going North. I didn’t see a single mask, not one. Not in a parking lot, not in a grocery store that we passed, not at a convenience store, not at a gas station, not by someone in a car, not hanging on a rearview mirror, not on a wrist, not as people were walking, nowhere! Not one. The only masks I saw were in the car I was in, and we have to do better than that because if we don’t we cannot successfully introduce risk.”

She was later forced to apologize to the community after the Mayor of Española, Javier Sanchez, roasted her in a fiery letter for picking on the small Hispanic Northern New Mexico community. 

Mayor Sanchez wrote in the letter, “Are we truly to believe that the governor slowed down enough to see into our dark tinted windows to find no masks hanging from rear view mirrors? At this rate of condescension, I would be very surprised if the governor’s vehicle even slowed down to a rolling stop at the red lights. How empty those words sound coming from behind the windows of an air-conditioned vehicle while peering in at us like we are children who haven’t cleaned our rooms.” 

Lujan Grisham later wrote, “My comments were taken as a lack of respect for Española and the work the community has done to fight this virus. I apologize for making that impression. That was not my intent, and I take responsibility for the way my words were conveyed and heard.”

But her apology fell on deaf ears after her press secretary Nora Sackett bashed the Española mayor, accusing him of “hypocrisy” and bashing him as “self-righteous.” 

Now, it appears Lujan Grisham is attempting to make amends with the community — which votes predominantly Democrat — as she looks to cling onto power in the Governor’s Mansion. Her subtle two-masked approach to this may be another way to take another jab at Española for its perceived lack of compliance with her draconian mask mandates.

‘Historic’ grand jury petition filed against Lujan Grisham

According to the Hobbs News-Sun, on Friday, a citizen petition asking the Lovington District Court to form a grand jury to investigate scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was filed regarding her public health orders and virus restrictions since 2020.

Approximately 1,000 Lea County voters signed the petition being sponsored and filed by state Sen. David Gallegos (R-Eunice) and Larry Marker of Roswell.

According to the petition, it requests that the “District Court convene a grand jury to investigate Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham ‘Defendant’ for crimes of Malfeasance in Office, Misfeasance in Office, Violation of oath of office and Maladministration.”

“The legally and factually unjustified actions of Defendant during her term as Governor include but are not limited to the abuse of authority related to the numerous constitutionally prohibited renewals of a public health emergency. Defendant under guise of emergency authority ordered and authorized numerous illegal actions that included invasions of the constitutionally protected rights of citizens of New Mexico. Defendant has abused and exceeded her legal authority with numerous consecutive sua sponte renewals of a public health emergency citing an unconstitutional misinterpretation of Section 12-10A-5 NMSA 1978,” the petition notes.

The petition alleges Lujan Grisham “manipulated her misinterpretation of her self-appointed unlimited emergency authority to issue public health orders and mandates that were a violation of most if not all of the constitutionally protected substantive and procedural rights of the citizens of New Mexico.” 

“The invasion of these rights inflicted severe, long term and irreparable harm on the citizens of New Mexico. Mandates and public health orders issued by Defendant were not supported by facts” 

“Substantial documentation is evidence that indicates Defendants mandates including but not limited to business and school closures, stay home and lock down orders served no practical purpose as to a reduction in number of covid infections and deaths in New Mexico comparative to other less regulated states. Defendant’s motives are shown to be questionable by the documented inequitable application of her draconian orders, mandates and reopening policies.”

According to the Sun-News, the two petitioners see a “grand jury as a way to hold the governor accountable for the public health orders, up to and including removing her from office.” 

The report notes that a judge may only dismiss the petition for three reasons, including, “lack of valid signatures, specific charges not within the scope of grand jury inquiry, or the violation occurred outside of the geographical area. If the petition meets all three criteria, then it will proceed to grand jury.” 

Gallegos notes that the petition only started less than a month ago, saying, “We actually did all those signatures during the fair. We had a really good crowd during the fair.” 

“This is the first citizens petition to be filed, ever, in Lea County and is truly a historic event,” Markers stated in a press release.

The News-Sun notes that “If the grand jury based on a citizens petition is formed to investigate the governor, Gallegos said to his knowledge it would a first in the state’s history, but added the process brings up a lot of unknowns.”

Leftist TV station prods pro-life group over billboard featuring APD officer

On Tuesday, KRQE News 13 wrote an article going after a local pro-life group, the Right to Life Committee of New Mexico, for its life-affirming billboard featuring Albuquerque Police Officer Ryan Holets in his APD uniform and reading, “My favorite right is life.”

In 2017, Holets gained national when he was on duty and met a woman addicted to heroin while eight months pregnant. Officer Holets adopted her baby and helped the mother get to rehab. 

The television station interviewed someone named Dakota Lopez who claimed the billboard “seemed like it was crossing into the realm of like, church and state and how it’s supposed to be separated.” It is unclear what this individual meant by that comment since the group is a non-profit and the officer featured on the billboard is entitled to his own beliefs. 

According to an APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos KRQE 13 contacted, he said, “We are aware of the billboard and we addressed it with the officer, who said he was approached several months ago about the use of his image in uniform. The officer informed the group that he would not give permission because it would be a violation of APD policy for him to provide an image of himself in uniform for a political campaign. The group used the images anyway, without permission and contrary to the wishes of a police officer who has distinguished himself for his integrity.” 

Ethel Maharg, the executive director of the Right to Life of New Mexico, who is also a Republican gubernatorial candidate, said she never was told she could not use the images and that “It’s just that I know if they’re online they’re public domain so you can borrow them,” 

It is unclear why now liberals and the mainstream media are attacking the pro-life group for the billboard, since it appears to have been up since at least July 12, with the group writing on Facebook, “Look what just went up on Northbound I-25 by the Lomas exit. Our very own hometown hero Officer Holets with 2 of his favorite girls. Hope Holets and Kardence Bero. We are super excited about our billboard and sign campaign. My Favorite Right is Life!” 

After the KRQE 13 hit piece, Maharg wrote on Facebook that the news channel“said I chose the image of Officer Holets because it had made national news. Wrong again. I never said that. They lied. We chose Officer Holets for 2 reasons. 1. He is a decent human being who did a noble thing when he offered to adopt his baby Hope (while in uniform). He saved this baby from abortion. The [birth mother] didn’t want one but was in a desperate situation and desperate people do desperate things. Officer Holets saved 3 lives that day. The baby, the mother and father. He went above and beyond and saw to it that the birthparents got the help they needed. 2, When good officers do something good it goes unnoticed. I’m not going to let that happen. Right now the police force is under attack by the government. They are understaffed, on surveillance at all times and frankly there is little respect for them. It’s time we respect our men and women in blue.”

She noted,“As for me asking Officer Holets for permission and he not giving it. Lies AGAIN. I didn’t ask for his permission. It is public domain and I used it. I would NEVER intentionally hurt Officer Holets or our police force. As for the uninformed comment of church and state I laughed because you don’t know who we are. Right to Life is a [nonsectarian] organization. Let me ask you. Did you see the words God, Jesus, or the cross on that billboard? I guess you did because we stand for life from conception to natural death so I guess it did say God, Jesus and the cross.”

“You cannot deny truth. The problem you see here is that this Big, Beautiful billboard is bringing light to life, and the pro-death people are upset especially since it sits right at the exit where women seeking an abortion would see it. Pobresitos! This billboard has been up since July 14th and you just now noticed it? What took you so long? To KRQE Thanks for the free press. If you like our billboards and want to see them continue go to rtlnm.org and give so we can continue this fight, because we will NEVER stop fighting for life,” Maharg concluded.
